You can distribute your keys however you want so long as you don't make people jump trough hoops or clutter the thread with puzzles or other 'earn the key' word games, my advice if you just drop the keys is to ask people to only take one and to say which one they've taken, but it's possible someone will just take whatever they want and stay silent.
