SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

It's heading right for you...so you juke it. Just as it bursts, you stop and raise your shield to deflect. You curl yourself up as Kyouko jumps overhead. "Shit!" You screech.

'Sayaka-!' Kyouko shouts back, before you see her turning towards Walpurgis' face. She's close enough to touch it...so she does. A spear jams itself into Walpurgis' face, just by the forehead as the witch continues to laugh. She's like a speck compared to the rest of Walpurgis...the head itself is the size of a building.

The flames quickly subside, before the witch turns back to Homura, ignoring the tiny little Kyouko chain-whipping herself up.

[x] Get an all clear from Homura before beginning your assault.
-[x] Wave Rend at the gears.

'Homura!' You turn over. 'We're going for the gears! Do we have an all-!'

'No.' She says, quietly, before you see something else heading right for it. A full, telephone-pole sized missile slams into Walpurgis' side, pressing further into it as it struggles to throw her aside. The warhead cracks and crumbles against her side, before it explodes violently, engulfing the entire thing in a shower of debris and smoke.

You see Kyouko slip down the side of the head, her chains keeping her from falling off. 'Holy shit, Homura, watch your fucking fire!'

'Apologies.'

'Not fucking good enough!'

Without a second thought, you pull your arm back, and you send a waverend right towards Walpurgis.

It slices off a piece of cloth from the dress...and the laughter grows even louder. You clench your teeth, before you see another full-sized skyscraper heading to you. You see Akane preparing to strike it herself, before she's slammed in the face by a piece of rebar. She tears it in half, but she's too far to actually protect you.

[OPTION SELECT]​

[] Block it.
-[] Blade block.
-[] Shield.
-[] Dodge.
-[] Cut it in half.

[] Write-in what to do.
 
Homura and Sayaka are not completely incapable of working together (see pipebombs in loop 2, episode 10 PMMM), but very very nearly so.

No blocking skyscrapers for us. Leave that to Akane.
At least we now know that we can cut parts of it.

Was just about to ask what 'juke it' was supposed to mean...

This is my two cents, but I think we should start getting a situation update from Homura every other update from here on. We want her as intelligence relay, then let's make sure we know what's going on beyond what we see and not be caught off guard and ask for intel at a moment too late to matter.

Indeed. Don't need specifically timed updates, but do need to be aware of when she's throwing something big, and when something changes. For that matter, we need to be letting other people know where we are, too.

I second the motion about warnings from Homura when she's about to throw the big guns out. We really do not need to worry about "friendly" fire on top of all the shit Walpurgis is throwing at us.

You jump up, just in time to see Kyouko still scrambling towards the neck. Ako and Yuri can be seen in the distance, before Ako is immediately impaled by debris. Yuri stares in horror at her before she, too, is slammed into a nearby skyscraper. Akane punches another building, before she's immediately sent tumbling to the ground.

You jump up before the skyscraper gets to you, shield raised. Debris continues to rain on you, even as you boost forwards, as you keep going towards the gears.

'I'm at Walpurgis! I'm going for the gears-!'

Just as you say that, you see flak erupting around you, before another missile strikes the dress. Kyouko scrambles up the head as you try to get to the gears.
