Am I the only one still have hope that Akane would still be the straight one in the group by the end of this quest? (yes I know, the yuri hive mind and all that. And the "the hope is thin and fragile")

...why the hell does that sentence not look right?

Maybe Akane can start to find other girls attractive and it freaks the hell out of her? Keep at least a reference to the whole "Soul Gem equals Lesbian" thing, even if it gets subverted.

Everytime I try to write "whole" it comes out "who". I'm watching too much Doctor Who, I swear.

Actually, you're not alone there. I kind of blamed the whole meguca=lesbian phenomenon on the fact that all these girls are going through hell together and they can't really share these experiences with any boys due to the nature of the system; they're desperate for companionship (although, from a narrative standpoint, it's because the main cast is almost entirely female due to the nature of the setting). Still, it would be nice to have at least one straight meguca.
 
I was under the impression that it was a series of jokes that, while they did go on for too long and weren't particularly funny, they were still just that. A series of jokes.

Don't be a sourpuss, sourpuss.

[x] Grab a bucket and launch

You boost back towards another bucket, hands raised, fists ready, and you stick a hand out. You drag your hand across its surface, tearing a gaping hole in the side as lava pours out. You use your momentum to maintain a slight orbit, and as you reach the back end you get ready to punch.

[x] Attack....
-[x] Open skull. (40%) (Risk of damage: +50 to witch roll)





You punch as hard as you can at the witch, and the bucket explodes in front of you. Lava goes flying everywhere as you feel your fist melting underneath your gauntlet. You let out a scream, as several legs on the witch melt from the impact.

A blast of lava melts away your fist, and obliterates a chunk of your shoulder and torso. You can see your ribcage underneath, and whatever armor was left is burned away as it melts off of your body.

But even that's for nothing. The bucket descends into the center of the witch, before it collides, destabilizing its innards. The entire thing shakes and shudders in agony, before it lets out a long, echoing scream. The smoke and fumes turn red, as they accelerate out of the witch, and the eyes begin to pop on its surface as the barrier dissolves around you. With a final explosion, the witch disintegrates into a shower of red-hot metal, sending shards everywhere as you drop down to the ground, torso steaming and body still smoldering.

Somehow, the only part of your head that was damaged was the back of your throat and the roof of your mouth. You let out a sigh of relief, only to notice smoke rising out of it. "...Oh...shit." You instinctively move to wipe it away with your right hand, only to remember that you just lost it. "Oh, goddammit."

Man, that stings. How the hell does Sayaka deal with this?

The grief seed drops down, and you see Ako and Yuri standing by, staring at you with wide eyes. 'That looks gnarly.' Ako mutters.
