SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

[x] Manifest swords all over the swarm. Detonate. Detonate. Detonate. Detonate. Boom. Fuck you bees!

[ROLL: 68+25] http://rolz.org/embed-image?9545351

You start forming swords and throwing them into the air as quickly as you can. Explosive blade after explosive blade after explosive blade goes soaring up, before you shoot a single explosive one right in the center of the mass.

The bees notice, but it's too late. An enormous chunk of the swarm is splattered, with honey and parts flying across the hive. The queen has her own special barrier, with a wall right in front of her just to protect her from the detonation, before more bees come in to replace the ones that were just lost.

[x] Another barrier from Koko.

She raises a barrier immediately after the strike, and a huge swarm slams into it. Some bees are shredded by the chains, while others just fly above it. She quickly spears one in the face, before another, and another.

[x] Whip out. Strike all bees that get close.

You bring out a sword, before you whip it out. The blade clatters against the ground, as you then proceed to start whipping bees out of the air.

[ROLL: 55+30] http://rolz.org/embed-image?9545359

You hit bee after bee after bee, with some of them being shredded. One manages to get through, before it's impaled on Kyouko's spear. It writhes, scratching her face once, before she whips it to shreds with a single flick.

You, on the other hand, have been struck several times. You can feel blood dripping down your arms from the holes that the stingers have made, but you're both still good enough for a fight.

So you want to boost towards the fuck huge swarm of bees, without armor or other protection, at 400c, at the start of the fight? I don't care if this is a "if this plan works we win" plan. If, more likely when, it fails Sayaka's going to end up horribly exposed and sure to be swarmed by bees with no protection. This plan clearly falls under the "Sayaka don't care about her safety" and is going to piss Kyouko off either way.

Besides, the best laid plans of mice and men bow to the dice gods, and as we've proven, the dice hate SQ.

If we boost, it'll be under conditions where the witch dies with an aggressive attack, we'd whittled down the familiars, and the biggest threat is it somehow managing to recover long enough for us to do this song and dance all over again. Yeah, the dice are out to kill us, but being terrified by that is a bit of a waste of time considering it'll be a constant. :p

We won't be whittled down by the witch. We literally cannot. That's kind of Sayaka's thing remember? Sayaka's corruption cost comes from healing, emotional trauma, and armoring up not attacking. We're already slightly cut up, and at 400c, anyway so we might as well stay as we are heal, clense and THEN go all reckless and shit when there's less chance of us not being able to recover. It's just a better idea than launching the reckless attack and ending up in the swarm of bees, injured, about to get MORE injured and already at 400c.

Further, if this witch truly does have infinite bees then it doesn't matter WHEN we launch the reckless attack as the witch's form will be of a semi-constant size. So yeah. I feel that launching a reckless attack now, at 400c when we can just clense and try it after is too risky. Especially when there shouldn't be any major paradigm shifts in the next update. All I'm asking is that we try the ranged shit for one more update, clense and THEN we can cut loose in melee.

On a more meta level, GM's hate fights that are won with plans like these and, frankly, the witch fight hasn't gone on long enough for this plan to be anything other than almost certain failure. But that's meta reasoning and really shouldn't be brought into this discussion because sometimes the dice are just gonna dice. Lol-Baseball Bat in AQ and all that.

[x] Both of you try to hit the Swarm with what AOE you can.
[x] Koko: Maintain [chain barrier] tank for CC, DPS the bleedthrough with [Chain Spear] and field monitor.
[x] Saka: DPS bleedthrough with [Sword Whip], prep more [Wave Rend] charged AOE, do heals and buffs as needed.

Shironi, I said we should boost after we'd whittled down the familiars. Not that we were being whittled down, though we are wasting magic on healing the longer we draw this out needlessly. The whole point of the vote is to whittle down the bees and if we get another unexpected opportunity, to take it before we get nothing more than another glimpse of the queen bee's barrier. A needless midfight cleanse after blowing magic on clearing the bees out temporarily in the first place....Uh.

Jonen: Where's Homu and Akane? It's scheduled raid night! I know Mami quit over RL issues and the newbies aren't ready for endgame content yet, but they should be here for the weekly Witch fight. I mean this is pretty important progression raiding after all, for the final tier of raids that comes out next week! Also put [q]s in that joke vote please. :p

Is totally legitimate tactical vote: Keep the barrier up, kill anything that gets through or past with Koko watching for surprises while we charge more bombs and do tactical healing as needed.

[X] Ugolino
We need more crowd control before we go after the queen, but doing nothing but crowd control will only waste time. We need to mess up that queen when we get the chance.

Sounds like an effective course of action to me.

.... You guys do realize we're attacking a fucking SWARM, right? We aren't making decent progress like this. We need to find something that kills them en masse. Like Fire.

Actually, Getting Homura in with a flamethrower isn't that bad of an idea...
