Akanishi Ryou was not set up in life for success. She was dropped off at the doorstep of a Catholic orphanage as a baby, and to this day has no clue who her parents were, nor any real desire to find out. Life in the orphanage was strict but fair, and Akanishi survived by avoiding the notice of the older girls, who frequently preyed on the younger. When she was fifteen, she was sent to a foster family who were looking for an older girl thatwouldn't cause any trouble, which she seemed to fit the bill for. Things were going okay until the couple she was living with started having marital issues, and she found herself caught in the middle as they used her as a tool in their fights. Unable to deal with the constant fighting, she ran away. Quickly, she realized that living on the streets was much more difficult than she expected, especially in the middle of a blizzard. When Kyuubey found her, she was on the verge of freezing to death.
My character isn't honestly all that edgy. She's mostly just awkward and a bit cowardly. I just needed a reason a teenager would be freezing to death in modern Japan.

I'm just being facetious. You're no where near the level of the earliest applicants. Also, people really like domestic abuses and conflict in their meguca backstory. I should have made one based on Isaac.

Honestly, what it is is a great excuse for your character to not have any family responsibilities or societal obligations. Being a hobo with superpowers is the easiest way to do whatever you want when you want.

Here comes my MG into the fray! She is finally ready for her debut!
Name: Satsuki Enomoto
Magical Girl Name (Optional): Scarlet Rose
Age: 14
Appearance:
Wish: "I wish the pain would go away, that I can move once more and be at everyone's side again. To live my life... I want to be of use, at least one more time...!"
Bio: Satsuki Enomoto had a happy life. And by that, she had loving parents, a mother and a father, as well as a younger sister. Her mother works as a lawyer and her father works as a romance writer. Satsuki was talented when it came to flowers and loved growing them, wanting to become a florist one day. She always had a little garden in her backyard that she would always tend to, and thought plants were interesting because they depended on somebody or something to help them grow, which fascinated her. Satsuki had become popular in circles when it came to flowers, she had been invited to a few competitions as a result. However she also had been scouted out for track and field, as well as swimming when it came to her school life, which she had to balance with her hobby regarding to flowers.
When she and her father had been heading home from one of Satsuki's track and field meets, a drunk driver struck the car, resulting in Satsuki to be fully paralyzed and her father to forever walk with a limp on his right leg and forced to be on a cane, with burn scars on the back of his hands, attempting to save his daughter, who had suffered severe whiplash and shrapnel embedded into her body, as the car impacted Satsuki's side of the car, yet miraculously managed to avoid a direct collision that would have killed Satsuki instantly.
Because of this, Satsuki had to be hospitalized and had to undergo numerous surgeries in order to be kept alive. Although being unable to move from the neck below, she tried her hardest to keep a smile despite the despair that was eating her alive, as she could no longer do not only the things she loved, but she wouldn't be able to be around the people she loved and cared about the most. Her mother took as much time she could to visit her child and her husband, while balancing work whenever she could, knowing that she had to support the family even more considering the hospital bills and the medication that needed to be paid in order for both father and daughter to live which had driven Satsuki's mother into depression and resorting her to be on medication as well. This had also caused Satsuki's younger sister to be constantly put under stress from her mother to try and help more around the house since two members of the family are both hospitalized.
That was when Kyubey came along and offered Satsuki a chance, one day in her hospital room, when her emotional pain had become so unbearable, a chance to live the life she knew that she outright deserved. Satsuki could have gotten revenge that day. She could have ruined the man's life who had put her into paralysis and caused her father to have a cane for the rest of his life. However, she had wished for something different, as Satsuki refused to make a dark, cruel wish, and wished otherwise. Satsuki knew that the man wasn't fully aware of his actions. She had hated him, but she would forgive him, wanting to show that she could be stronger without taking revenge against others.
Personality: A happy-go-lucky girl who loves seeing smiles not only on herself, but on other people's faces, too. She is a social butterfly and loves talking to others about daily life and various subjects. Satsuki always gives flowers with meanings to make her point and describes people's personalities with flowers. She tends to be air-headed and gets ahead of herself quite a bit though and she can be a crybaby when the nature of being an energetic girl is taken out of the picture. She, however, does have her serious moments and will fight to protect others in the name of justice as she hates the concept of those bullying others or manipulating others for personal gain. Her sense of justice is quite driven and that she will do whatever it takes to help those in need. Very kind-hearted and warm towards those around her, she tends to always put everyone else above herself, believing that she would be able to be of more use that way and that she would be loved even more so that way. Despite the tragedy that happened in her life, she had chose to believe that people can change, and placed her bet in hope rather than despair.
Magical Weapon: Battle Axe
Magical Powers: Pain Suppression: Formed from her wish, Satsuki's wish has allowed her take on extreme tolerance for pain. She can tolerate it and ignore it, but she cannot truly cancel it. Regeneration: Satsuki can regenerate from fatal wounds and be able to carry on battling. Botanokinesis: She is able to control and manipulate plants around her, being able to cause these plants to grow, move/attack, or even to make plant creatures out of her plants. With her plant ability, she is able to defend her allies with her plants. Weapon Summoning and Modification: Like other magical girls, she can summon copies of her battle axe as the main weapons. Satsuki changes it up, however, by timing her weapon spawns so she can get the axe on them. Physical Enhancement: Like any magical girls, Satsuki's physical ability surpasses normal humans.
Name: Tsubomi Kisaragi
Magical Girl Name (Optional):
Age: 14
Appearance:
Wish: "People… They don't like me. But, my toys are different! They care about me! They've always loved me… I wish I could bring them to life! Then I'll have a real family…."
Bio: Ever since Tsubomi was a small child she's always lived in her own little world. In her fantasies she lived with her happy family of animal friends and together they went on adventures. They trekked through forests and sailed the seas and fought all kinds of villains! Tsubomi always knew deep in her heart that her friends would be there for her no matter what.
That wasn't true, of course. In the end Tsubomi's precious friends were nothing more than soulless, lifeless sacks of cheap cloth. They couldn't do a thing to protect, or comfort, or love her, but she deluded herself into thinking that they could. The only other alternative was facing reality: no one truly loved her.
Tsubomi was the third, unplanned child of her parents, a dock worker and businesswoman. The pregnancy was extremely difficult on her mother and unfortunately the birthing proved too much for her. She died bringing Tsubomi into the world.
Tsubomi's father always tried to be a good parent to her, but he couldn't stop himself from keeping his distance from her. No matter how he looked at her, Tsubomi dredged up memories of watching the love of his life die. There were times even where he blamed Tsubomi for what happened, though he tried his best not to think that way. Tsubomi's two older siblings, however, showed no such restraint. They blamed Tsubomi for taking their mother away from. They hated her and made sure she knew it with every opportunity.
Faced with her cold, unloving family Tsubomi retreated into her imagination. She created a family for herself using the toys and stuffed animals of her childhood. As long as she had them she could trick herself, she could believe that there was someone who truly loved her.
As Tsubomi grew older her loneliness and unhappiness deepened. She longed, desperately, for someone else's affection. One day it just so happened that she caught the eye of a certain white bunny-cat.
Personality: Tsubomi is a sad, lonely girl who is starved for true love and affection.
Because of her poor experiences with other people Tsubomi developed personalities for all of her toys and treated them as her friends and family instead. Rather than growing out of this habit she grew more and more reliant on it, sacrificing interacting with actual people to spend time with her "friends". As such Tsubomi is seriously lacking in interpersonal skills outside of the context of her imaginary friends. When speaking with them she can be confident, cheerful, bubbly and outgoing, but when it comes to real people she doesn't know what to do with herself and simply clams up and withdraws into herself.
Magical Weapon: Toy Chest: A large, pink, heart covered chest that Tsubomi can pop into existence. She can rifle through it and pull out various toys that can be used as weapons. The chest itself could be used as a weapon or for cover in a pinch.
Magical Powers:
Honey-chan! - Tsubomi infuses her prized Teddy Bear, Honey-chan, with magical power, causing it to grow in size and strength, with the cost in grief increasing as it grows bigger. Tsubomi can give Honey-chan direct commands or allow it to act autonomously. The maximum size it can grow to is about 20 ft. If Honey-chan is damaged she can use more magic to repair him, but at a high grief cost
Toy Creation: Tsubomi reaches into her toy chest and pulls out a toy, what she gets is random, but almost all of them can be used as a weapon in some way.
Name: Mayu Yamashita
Magical Girl Name: The Best Magical Girl in theWorld, duh.
Age: 16
Appearance:
Wish: "I wish I was the best magical girl in the world!"
Bio: Mayu had a relatively unassuming life. No major trauma, no sudden devastation. She was the eldest of three siblings, the example, the responsible one, and it was a role she didn't shy away from even as they moved to Mifune City, leaving old friends behind and casting her into a new environment. She was sure that she would thrive, and eventually grow up to do something great.
School went pretty well too. Initially near the top of her class, she began to slip back towards the comfortable middle. She wasn't much one for sports but did find some enjoyment in music and reading, the former of which was picked up by her sister and brother, even if they didn't play the same instrument as her. Yet as she grew older and into high school she found herself becoming...unsatisfied. She looked around and saw Her peers doing great things, even her siblings doing the same, and she just didn't seem to match up. It was like she was steady while everyone was rising, and she didn't know what to do about it.
Then one day the answer came. She was walking to school when she was approached by a strange being with a simple question. And to it, there was only one answer.
Personality: Upon the first look, one would be forgiven for thinking that Mayu is egocentric. As a magical girl she is almost devoted to the job, flashy and showing off when there are others watching, more than willing to be condescending and sharp tongued, and with a hypercompetitive streak that doesn't really make her friends. Girls who are just starting out get this easier, but more veteran girls aren't so lucky.
As a normal girl though, she has a different tone. She is friendly, courteous, always willing to lend a hand to those who need it. She may not be the most avid 'people' person, but she doesn't tend to get into that many arguments. She would much prefer to enjoy herself, and arguing doesn't really help that.
All this is to cover a deeper emotional core, the same issues that prompted her to make her wish. But she isn't going to tell just anyone about that sort of thing, now is she?
Magical Weapon: A steel glaive with a wooden shaft, the head of which contains a curved blade and a hook near the base to catch an opponents weapon.
Magical Powers: Mimicry - As a result of her wish, Mayu is able to copy the observed power of a magical girl to use for herself. These powers loose effectiveness the longer it has been since she witnessed them, and given enough time she will not be able to replicate them without seeing them again. When active, her level of ability is comparable to the person she copied the power from, though it does not come with the innate knowledge to use those powers to their greatest extent.
Weapon Summoning and Modification: Like pretty much everyone else here Mayu has the ability to summon copies of her weapon and use them in combat.
Efficiency: Because of the nature of her wish, Mayu's magic is more efficient in terms of cost to use, meaning she can get more bang for the same amount of buck that other girls would get.
Superior Physical Enhancement: While Mayu has the same boost in physical parameters that every magical girl receives, hers was to an extent above the traditional norm for magical girls
Corruption: x/100%
Well then. *sips Diet Dr. Pepper* Good thing I got the Diet Dr. Pepper to hold me over when we get to seeing what happens next in regards to characters. I'm just glad I was able to submit.

Personally, I'm not very worried about this. She only copy powers, not weapons, and our weapons are usually the foci for the spectacular side of our magic.
I mean, look at Keiko. since she is just "I swing my sword" with some "I block with shield", and miss Uchiha only copy powers, not weapons, so that's one third of the power set inaccessible.
At best she can project the force field over her glaive, and that's only half as good as projecting it over a sword. Pole arms are pretty unwieldy, especially when most of your opponent can rush right in front of you, stepping inside your range. If you have a sword and someone keep in your face, you can keep swinging largely unhindered. With a glaive, you gonna need to do all kinds of interesting gymnastics and choreography just to get a decent swing in. Parrying is also harder, so that's the defensive application gone.
For someone whose is dependent on just going in and start hacking, martial skill is extreme important. Again, miss Uchiha doesn't copy skill, so that's another one third of the power set gone.
So, whereas Keiko would be super strong and tough, skilled in her combat style and armed with forcefield sword and shield, Mayu would just be...super strong and tough.
Same for Emi and Arasai, both weapons dependent. Sarah's power is useless to her if she doesn't have the mind to actually construct things.
I get that there are ways to abate the powers, there almost always are - but it's not just cheesy but lazy to make a character whose powerset is pretty much, "Like hers, but BETTER". The copying thing can be done well (some iterations of Rogue, say) but it works when you have an interesting twist to it that forces the player to make it work - like the need for skin contact, uncontrollable transfer of memories as well as powers, or being at a lower level of power. As written, it's pretty much "Oh hey, I'll do the exact same thing you can do but I can brute force it more because I AM THE BEST."
It doesn't really help that the personality/bio writeup does not suggest anything that would mitigate this or make it more interesting to deal with either. The personality component sounds pretty much like an excuse to go, "I'll act like an asshole to all the PCs but be nice to all the NPCs so I can get to be an asshole yet not suffer the IC consequences."
I mean yeah, I wrote up a character who's Special Snowflake made literal flesh, but that's the point - being a snowflake isn't a good thing and she's going to have to deal with that. There's a built-in character arc there centering on the theme of earning your renown and living with it, and learning about what's really important and maybe realising that being average isn't the same as being worthless.
I know I'm kibitzing here and at the end of the day it's @Murderhobo of Nod's call on what to do with it, it just kind of grinds my gears when I catch a whiff of cheddar.

I've spent hundreds of hours swinging a pollaxe, and that just isn't true. Unless you've got something pike-length, a polearm is almost as wieldy as a sword. The key is that the shaft is as much a weapon as the head - every single part of it. The butt is obvious, but the centre of the shaft is essentially a baton that can be used effectively in grappling. If you're trained in a polearm, you can fight as effectively with it in close quarters as you can at range.

My experience with pole arms is mostly mock battles with bamboo sticks. No actual training, mostly stupid college fun things, but I've used something resembling a halberd or a spear.
But, whenever I've use something longer than 160cm-sh (shouldn't a glaive be around 2 meters?) I couldn't get any leverage behind my swing when my friends get in my face. I try to smack them around with the shaft, and it works well enough when it does, but most of the time I was too busy parrying to do much else. Especially when they got the short stick and won't stop poking from behind their boards. Granted, moving the grip up works wonder, but the shaft weight keep throwing my attacks off (this is probably because I'm using bamboo sticks, so the balance is off). Also, whenever I try to use one in anything not an open field or one on one, the thing keep getting caught by something or someone. The sword work well, if not excel, in just about all circumstances
The thing is that, up close, you're using a baton, while they still have a sword. So, it mean that if I got jabbed by the stick, I'm out, while they're allowed to take a few hits from my stick as long as it's not the lethal bits. A pole arm's lethality dropped in close quarter, especially when the people you're fighting can take blunt force trauma pretty well. Also, I don't think you can go through plate armor with just the shaft alone unless you smack them in the head and neck. Meanwhile, the sword can jab at gaps, while the mace probably dent armor.
Then again, we have no idea what the hell we were doing. Our games were revolved around catching people with the red-painted bits. I doubt its the most realistic thing.
Also, isn't the hammer there a little short to be a polearm? It looks just over a meter at best.
One at a time, maybe two if she really pushes herself.
I suppose I could try and defend myself with some claim about how 'what you wish for isn't really what you want' as a central theme, but I suppose it's ultimately not worth it. If people think that I made this character just to abuse the system then I'm not going to be able to change their minds outside of what happens in the actual RP.
My own mistake for leaving things to be discovered in the Rp, huh.
Normally, people tends to consider the character sheet with a wysiwyg mindset except when it is stated that there are hidden sheets or something similar. Now that I've pay more attention to your sheet outside of the magic section, I think there are at least some emotional detail you're not telling us.
Anyway, the most common type of plot drama or whatchamacallit come from punching things in the face (or the inability to do so). When you remove that hook, you remove the most accessible source of drama and conflict, which I believe is the key for a good story/game. And I think that's what we're here for first and foremost: A good plot/story.
Of course, that doesn't mean a powerful character will instantly ruin the story, Superman or One Punch Man came to mind. There are plenty of drama and conflict to be have from being the best. Is just that they are much more difficult to handle than the standard "I can't punch this thing in the face -> forty minutes of Eye of the Tiger"
It is good to have a balance between strength and weakness. As long as there is balance, that is all that matters. There have been quite a few powerful characters in PMMM, like Homura and Oriko, however Homura can only go back and save Madoka and save her within the time limit. If she fails, she will reset. Simple as that. Oriko can see into the future but she can't view the entire event playing out. Almost like she is looking through a peephole. Not only that, Oriko with her powers aren't an absolute. While she saw Madoka's Witch form, and it certainly would have happened, it doesn't mean that fate can't be altered. It means it is the strongest possibility out there. I think it is alright for a character to be strong. It is just ensuring that there is a drawback for using such strength.
Although that is just me. I don't really want to say it is right or wrong, but it is the QM's choice at the end of the day.
Any particular reason my character didn't make the cut? I'm not mad or anything, but I always seem to get rejected from these sort of RP's and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
