Sorry for the necro, but does anyone know if this fic is dead for sure? It's one of my favorite worm fics and it'd be such a shame for it to be dead...

It is not. I haven't updated any of my fics in a while due to some life reasons (getting married was a wonderful decision, but there's a lot more to merging lives with someone than I realized before), and this one isn't quite at the top of the list, but I haven't abandoned it.

I'm touched that you consider it one of your favorites; when I reread it I see several places I could have done things better despite how much I enjoy the premise.

There will always be places that you could've done better.

However, as someone wiser than me once said:

Perfect is the Enemy of Good.

Thus, getting things done Good is better than ever-distant Perfection

To second the previous post, I really enjoy the story, and really can't wait for the next chapter.

What are the guidelines on adopting a story/premise on Sufficient Velocity? Of course, only if the author gives permission first.

Was speaking in general terms, not this specific story. Looking at all the abandoned stories on this platform, even in others as well, I wonder why there are not a lot of stories adopted by writers and such.

Even so, this isn't the thread to be asking such questions. Necromancy may not be illegal in SV land, but it is frowned upon without sufficient reasoning and thread tax. Read the rules and regulations first, then try PM'ing the author of you have a specific story in mind. All else fails, contact a mod. Don't raise the dead (or hopefully just comatose in this case.)

If you're speaking in "general terms" than your request belongs in a general discussion thread of it's own creation or in staff communications, not a necromantic post on a specific story.
