I am a bit worried about the barrier around the school. If we let it fester Rider is going to liquidize a bunch of kids. We should probably add something like contact some friends and get them to close the school due to poison gas leak. Tell them to delay reopening till after the Grail war junk.
Good point.

Archer could destroy it effortlessly by projecting Rule Breaker.........but we don't have an IC way of knowing that. Solomon could probably also destroy it really easily, King of Magecraft and all.

Good idea, adding.

New mobile is a bugger to get used to, so gimme a mo
Looks pretty good. My only real complaints are that we should get rid of Blood Fort Andromeda, as @reborn214 pointed out and that spending more time with Shirou is almost certain to make Archer more irritable.

I'd prefer to replace the line about Archer training Shirou some more with having Solomon take a look at the Jewel Seed that's still stuck inside Shirou's body. Not only is getting that Jewel Seed out one of our primary goals, but it could also potentially be a useful tool in a desperate situation (especially if Solomon can figure out how it works).

We should probably also have Solomon take a look at Hayate at some point.

Hmm, I'll throw in a bit about dropping the Governor an anonymous tip off about a bomb hidden in the school. Think that works?

The Grail War only lasts a week, so by the time they finish searching for said bomb, the War should be over.

This is assisted by the damage that Berserker did to the building.

What about Waver? We should get into contact with him, too. And we should definitely alert our potential allies about the corruption in the Grail.
Waver is under the "Masters who are not immediately hostile" list that we'd try to contact.

Could work, but I currently got Solomon booked with the Kaleidosticks cranking out whatever he can summon for our backup. I could switch it around, but it leaves us low on immediate combat power.

Thoughts?

Well its possible that neither kaleidostick will be agreeable to being used by Solomon...........or that he'd be too prideful to use one.

I'm still wary of letting Archer and Shirou spend any more time around each other than is necessary. I don't want a rebellious Archer.

Perhaps in Archer's free time, Archer can make use of his shiny new Presence Concealment skill to go scout the city?

I was thinking more along the lines of Taiga and Ilya beaming energy to Solomon to use. Shouldn't be that complicated....not to mention the Kaleidostick's shape would probably be familiar to him.

I'll clarify this bit though.

Possibly, I'm somewhat wary myself, but as far as we can tell he doesn't hold any direct animosity towards Shirou despite my initial doubts

I am sorry this is taking so long to update. I'll be locking votes. The first part of the war should be ready for posting in the next couple days.

However, here's a preview...

The 5th Holy Grail War: (Preview)

The second day, your alliance were jerked out of trying to rest with a terrorist attack at the Ryuudou Temple. A dozen monks were killed, with twenty injured.

What surprised you was that apparently Topher Joiner had taken refuge there with Caster after being driven out of the Einzbern mansion the previous day, though not without taking another life off of the mountain-man known as 'Berserker'. Caster, Hans Christian Anderson, had been slain at the Temple in an attack that seemed to specifically target the Servant, but uncaring of whether or not there was any collateral damage. The only upside was that the method of attack would be unlikely to be taken for any piece of the Moonlit World.

Topher Joiner fled Fuyuki that night, but not before posing on one of the towers ranting that he'd be back. Whether he wanted to come back or not.

The 5th Holy Grail War
The 5th Holy Grail War

To your surprise, Shirou managed to recover from his illness and sneak onto the Arthra with Yuuno and Avenger. You tried to send him back, but your adopted son steadfastly resisted. He said he needed to see the war through, because he participated in the previous one and it caused so much devastation; he needed to be on hand to make sure that such an event didn't happen again. While it would be a small detour that both yourself and Archer desired to put him back in Uminari safe, eventually you relented.

Regardless of that, you needed a larger alliance of Servants in order to keep everyone safe. Dealing with the Testarossa-Einzbern alliance was of the utmost importance. Their willingness to expose the Moonlit World in order to achieve their goals could not be overlooked, and needed to be dealt with quickly. That big mountainous Servant would prove a large problem, though, which necessitated an alliance.

On the first day you and Archer went to the Einzbern Mansion to try to propose an alliance between your team and Topher Joiner and his Caster. You didn't find the potential partners, though, but instead found where the Justizia and the Einzbern team had made their fortifications.

They were a priority, but you could not take them as you were at the time. Not willing to provoke them yet, you turned your attention to try to locate the Kaleido Knights at the Tohsaka Mansion. It turned out that all of the Knights were supporting a False Caster, one that your Archer seemed to recognize. Regardless of recognition, their Servant's identity (and your own) seemed to evade your grasp.

The Kaleido Knights seemed welcome to the idea of an alliance, much to the relief of the False Caster, who claimed that she had enough on her plate trying to keep all of the Knights alive. When you mentioned a curse on the Grail, the False Caster mentioned that she had also detected a curse in the Grail, from what little she could sense of it from the Ley Lines.

The leader of the Knights, Kaleido Ruby (also known as Rin Tohsaka), was in a bad mood because she had been unable to get in touch with Sakura Matou to give her her version of Kaleidostick Sapphire; Zouken Matou wasn't letting anyone see his granddaughter during the war. At least, from what Rin heard over the phone, Sakura seemed fine, but False Caster had a hunch that things weren't quite what were made out to be.

That night, there was a small commotion in downtown Fuyuki, but before you could get down there with Archer, the participants of the confrontation had departed.

The second day, your alliance were jerked out of trying to rest with a terrorist attack at the Ryuudou Temple, with a bomb going off and bullets flying in a couple rooms.

Regardless of the Dead Apostle Ancestor's posturing, it meant that you were not only out a potential ally, but there were four opposing Servants left, two of which had teamed up.

It was at this point that Avenger and the False Caster started trying to manipulate the Ley Lines to fortify their position in the Tohsaka manor. Meanwhile, you and Archer went patrolling Fuyuki to see if you could get anything on any of the other Masters or Servants, with several mages from the TSAB joining you in the patrols to find something.

The good news is that you located Bernhardt von Einzbern with his Servant with little trouble. It turned out that the Servant was starting to make another bounded field around a few downtown buildings, possibly to get as many people as possible. There was a slight complication with Bernhardt having a half-dozen homunculi with him, but if either Bernhardt or his Servant could be dealt with quickly, then they wouldn't pose too much of a problem.

Archer fired upon the enemy Servant, getting her attention, while you prepared to take a shot at the enemy master from a safe distance. To your surprise, someone else sniped your target before you could kill him yourself, allowing the enemy Servant to fade away from Prana depletion. Taking care of the Homunculi that were there proved to be a simpler matter without their leadership, even with the Storage Devices that they wielded.

That removed a second Servant from the War, and one half of those you were specifically targeting.

Things quieted down for a couple days, allowing the Servants on your side to teach a few things to all the mortals on your side. Yuuno, Shirou, and Rin each learned about how to summon a few lesser demons safely from Avenger, with promises to pass on the learned knowledge to the rest of the TSAB when an opportunity arose. The False Caster was perfectly happy to share a few Gemcraft secrets, which were quickly grasped by Rin and deeming interesting, but beyond their reach, by the others. And Archer started to fight others in battles to increase their capabilities against Servants, so that they could survive long enough for an ally Servant to fight.

He tried to fight Shirou, but after your son had projected the big black sword, Archer gave him a pass, saying that looking at the sword gave him too big of a headache to focus.

For some reason, during summoning training, Shirou managed to accidentally summon a succubus, before Avenger dismissed the summoning.

However, you came up with an idea for your own magecraft, going off of what Archer had taught Shirou a few days ago. While you couldn't manage it yet, you believe that you might be able to eventually Trace your Origin Bullets, giving you a large supply of them. It will be a few years before you can manage it, but it is likely possible.

The peace, research, and buildup of forces came to an abrupt end when the False Caster suddenly had a spear sticking out of her chest at the same time all the magecraft she had placed around the Tohsaka mansion abruptly vanished. Lancer, Vlad the Impaler, climbed out of the False Caster's chest, killing her and exposing him to Avenger and Archer, as well as the rest of the alliance.

The enemy Servant killed Avenger and was almost killed in turn by Archer, before suddenly being called away by a Command Seal.

Down the two weaker Servants, you now had to deal with Berserker, Lancer, and Assassin, with Saber and his Master being a possible ally. You had no idea of whom the Master of Assassin was, but, based on Rin's comments, it was possible that Zouken Matou decided to get involved with the summoning of Lancer. No one knew more about Servants for the Grail War than he did, and it was likely he used Rin's failed attempts at a powerful Servant as an opening to hijack her position as a Master.

You needed another Servant as an ally, since you were down to one, and you doubted that Archer would be enough to kill Berserker hard enough to make him stay dead.

That night, you finally got in contact with the Saber Iskander and his master, Waver Velvet. To your surprise, Saber remembered the Fourth Grail War, or rather, a different version of it that was closer to normal. In his memories, there was only one of each Class, you had successfully summoned King Arthur as Saber, and the Golden Archer didn't ruin Fuyuki with his Noble Phantasm.

Both Master and Servant agreed that there was something strange going on with the Grail, especially since things didn't add up to them. Servants from myth and legend being summoned twice and remembering the first time? Servants from popular culture being summoned? Servants that had no identifiable past? And a Servant from the modern day? All of it added up to something being wrong.

However, despite their understanding, they refused to cooperate with your alliance, stating that they'd deal with it themselves. It was after some pressure on them that Waver admitted that they did not want to work with a man who had also been summoned as Assassin in the current Grail War.

You knew you had been good at your job as a professional assassin in your lifetime, even earning the title of 'Magus Killer' for specializing in taking down enemy magi. But you didn't think that you were that good.

The false priest would probably laugh up a storm if he ever found out.

Lacking options, the next night Archer and yourself tried to launch a raid on the Einzbern Castle the next night, but it turned out it had been abandoned rather hastily. The Justizia was spotted from the air again, fleeing away from the Castle towards the Ryuudou Temple with minimal power.

Precia seemed to be going out of her way to avoid coming into direct conflict with you, for whatever reason. Luckily, the Justizia seemed to lose power completely and made a crash landing on the mountain. Unluckily, the TSAB had to get its men there in order to contain the damage.

And that placed them in the middle of a short conflict, with Precia and a Berserker Hercules on one side and Assassin and Lancer with Shinji Matou as the Master of Assassin on the other. It took quite some doing, but Precia was restrained by the TSAB while Berserker killed both Assassin and Lancer, the master of Assassin running away after his Servant was destroyed. Assassin was focused on first, to the point of ignoring Lancer and allowing him to kill the mountainous man three times before the other version of you was slain. Precia sent bolt after bolt of electricity at the mages that the TSAB sent, while her aim sharply dropped after Assassin was slain, and then Lancer was killed as well.

At that point, the woman went into a coma, and her body started spewing solid curses, engulfing Berserker.

Not willing to risk it, you had a few TSAB mages float you over the growing sea of curses, allowing yourself a chance to shoot what Precia had become with an Origin Bullet. The curses stopped and dried up, taking Berserker with them, while what was left of Precia perished.

The TSAB confiscated the remains of the Justizia, taking what was left under classified information, but before they could start investigating it, a loud roar echoed from where both of the Lesser Grails had appeared in the last War. A large black-scaled beast with scars all over it appeared in Fuyuki, and started to make its way towards the temple. It was with quick action from the Kaleido Knights, Yuuno, and Shirou that it didn't get very far, though you felt a sense of irony at the fact that its assault was stopped by the big black blade that Shirou seemed fond of projecting.

A few minutes later, Archer faded away for an unknown reason, but not before warning you to stop Shirou from his heroic tendencies.

While there were no winners to the War, at least the results had turned up were much better than you had anticipated. At least Saber and his Master were leaving you alone, and instead going to travel the world to see if they could find another way to achieve their goals. There were only a couple dozen civilian deaths. Losses among your allies were only a half-dozen. Forgotten magics were learned. All in all, it could have been worse. Much worse.

Winner: None

Saber survives.

Kotomine's Notes:
Using a child as an additional Master to support you? And letting your son stay on the field of battle? Those in the Clock Tower would approve, while responsible parents would hate your methods. It was a smart call for you to bring in TSAB support, making things easier for you.
Messing with the Servant classes might be troublesome for you if you make a wrong move. You nearly provoked something bigger.
I must commend the participants for causing so few outsider deaths. Only about thirty or so dead, most of which were from Assassin attacking the Temple to get at Caster.
This Grail War was rather tame. Perhaps the next one will prove more interesting…

Plan Einzbern:
Goal: Win the Grail War to retrieve the Third Magic and revive Alicia, using the Lesser Grail that Precia was turned into.
Methods: Reclaim the abandoned Einzbern mansion to act as a base, and move everything of value from the Justizia to the mansion, and then land the ship during the night in the woods around the mansion (Precia states that one of the magi she fought also had access to an Intelligent Device, so TSAB was likely in the area). Once reclaimed, get Bernhardt healed. Afterwards, have Precia stay in the mansion with Berserker and a half-dozen homunculi while Bernhardt, Rider, and a half-dozen other homunculi search the city at night for other Masters and Servants, engaging when possible. Have Rider start setting up Blood Fort downtown Fuyuki when Bernhardt is fully healed.
Priority: Obtain the Einzbern Mansion. It's been abandoned for years, so no trouble should be faced. It is perfect for a base.
Backup Plan 1: IF Kiritsugu Emiya enters the mansion, then get Precia out, even returning to the air in the Justizia if need-be. An injured Lesser Grail vessel can still function, but destroying the magic circuits of it will make the Grail War all for nothing (though it would probably wipe out whatever is in the area as a result).
Backup Plan 2: IF Rider is defeated, start having Precia go out with Berserker, Bernhardt and the homunculi backing her up to weaken the foes. The priority remains Precia's safety.

Plan Joiner:
Goal: Win the Grail War to change Topher Joiner's origin so that he isn't forced to play the part of the villain.
Methods: Lie in wait at the Einzbern mansion. If anyone comes, have Caster strengthen Topher's abilities so that Topher can take them out. Topher's Awakened Origin demands that he be essentially sits on his throne and waits for others to come to him to fight, so that is what he'll do.
Priority: (none)
Backup Plan 1: IF the unlikely case of being forced out of the mansion comes to be, regroup to the Temple.

Plan Matou:
Goal: Win the Grail War to restore glory to the Matou Family and give Zouken immortality. Zouken intends to do this with the Lesser Grail that he turned Sakura into.
Methods: Using command seals to make sure Assassin doesn't directly or indirectly kill the Matous, have Shinji be excused from school and roam Fuyuki during the day with Assassin, retreating to the Matou mansion at night. Try to find where the other masters are hiding, and then kill them with 'terrorist attacks' during the day. Sakura is also excused from school, and is to stay home until the war ends. Zouken wants her on hand so she can claim Servants for the Makari Grail.
Priority: That Dead Apostle Ancestor has a Servant… who is weak against Assassin. Take them out first.
Backup Plan 1: IF the Matou mansion falls under attack, retreat to the caves under the mountain with the temple.
Backup Plan 2: IF Assassin is killed and Caster (False) is still around, have Zouken force a summon of Lancer, killing Caster (False) in the process.

Plan Kaleido Knights:
Goal: Protect the Citizens of Fuyuki, and keep all of the Knights alive
Methods: Have the Tohsaka mansion as a base, and keep all the Knights there when they are resting. Between fortifications of the mansion, go out with various groups of Knights in order to try to hunt down Servants and their Masters before they cause problems.
Priority: Get their version of Kaleidostick Sapphire to Sakura Matou and have them join the Kaleido Knights.
Backup Plan 1: IF a member of the Kaleido Knights is at risk of dying, then get them out of danger. Despite backup from the Kaleido Knights, a false Servant can only do so much.

Plan Iskander:
Goal: Win the Grail War to reincarnate Iskander
Methods: Find where the fighting is and barge in to try to get the participants to join the army. Those that persistently refuse will be brought down.
Priority: Get two cheap hotel rooms on opposite sides of Fuyuki as bases for the War. Also rent two cars to make use of Iskander's Riding skill.
Backup Plan 1: If the Magus Killer is in the War, focus on hunting him down to prevent him from pulling a sneak attack to ruin Waver's circuits.
Backup Plan 2: If that Priest participates in the War, raze the church.

Plan Kotomine:
Goal: Survive the 5th Grail War so that the 6th can be participated in
Methods: Just play the moderator for now, and peek past the Fourth Wall as much as possible to make sure no one catches Kotomine by surprise. With the Assassin of the 4th War in North Korea and Gilgamesh in Africa, there is no Servant to call on for now.
Priority: Keep repeating evacuation warnings.

I am sorry this took so long. A power outage delayed completion of this. At any rate, we should return to your regularly scheduled yearly updates shortly.

The False Caster was perfectly happy to share a few Gemcraft secrets, which were quickly grasped by Rin and deeming interesting, but beyond their reach, by the others.
...TOHSAKA?!
Assassin Kiritsugu Emiya was summoned by Matou Shinji.
Master of Assassin used a Command Seal: Do not directly physically harm the Matou family.
Master of Assassin used a Command Seal: Do not indirectly physically harm the Matou family.

Kiritsugu's hard to deal with for Shinji eh.

Archer was forcibly pulled out of the world for an unknown reason.
Ominous.
...he's gonna take leadership of the TSAB refugees and conquer the world isn't he?

Only about thirty or so dead, most of which were from Assassin attacking the Temple to get at Caster.
...so we wound up killing most of the people in the War, even if it was another us.

Everyone on our side lived though, and Ilya is fixed enough to pass muster. I call that a win!

Zouken intends to do this with the Lesser Grail that he turned Sakura into.
...Gonna need to run a rescue.

For some reason, during summoning training, Shirou managed to accidentally summon a succubus, before Avenger dismissed the summoning.

Well...it's Shirou. Harem powers stronk.

With the Assassin of the 4th War in North Korea and Gilgamesh in Africa, there is no Servant to call on for now.
Wut.

So was Assassin the version of Kiritsugu that would have resulted if we had gone through with the plan of making a pact with Alaya to save everyone from the Book of Darkness and Type-Saturn?

Everyone on our side lived though, and Ilya is fixed enough to pass muster. I call that a win!
We only partially healed Illya, and we failed the subgoals of healing Hayate, Shirou, and Rin. Of those, Hayate is currently in the most danger (unlikely to live past 20).

We should also really deal with Demise ASAP, definitely prior to the 6th war (if we even allow it to happen at all). We should save Sakura too.

At least Precia and the Einzberns are Killed Off For Real.

We only partially healed Illya, and we failed the subgoals of healing Hayate, Shirou, and Rin. Of those, Hayate is currently in the most danger (unlikely to live past 20).
Well, Ilya would be growing up to teen/young adult, so I'm not too distressed about her quality of life now. She can complete her education and join society just fine from here, and would at least, get to go through puberty with everyone.

Shirou is, at least, not getting any worse, but we probably should follow up on Archer's warning and try to wean him off being the idealistic hero. The practical hero maybe, but if he gets in trouble, it'd be because he chose to sacrifice of himself.
On the bright side, he got his introduction to summoning, so there's some interesting tricks he could pull with UBW. Nasuverse demons are the materialization of wishes and desires,...and UBW itself is also one such. He could feasibly summon them and arm them.

Rin, much like Shirou, would be in trouble only if she pushes herself past her limits. We don't get much influence over her alas, aside from using Shirou on her.

Hayate, I agree, is our current priority for a healing solution. She's on a strict clock and the longer we wait the harder. Since the Grail War is a bust, we need to poke at one of the crossovers to fix her.

Sakura meanwhile needs a rescue, and the Tohnos...will end in blood all over the place any time now. On the other hand if the Tohnos go through with canon events, Shiki will have MEoDP, which may be able to fix Hayate, at the risk of putting her around another harem protagonist.

So next priorities that I can see:
-Try not to go broke. - Irisviel is mainly covering this for now, but we need more.
-Try not to witch out - We need to replenish Grief Seeds, and probably find a more sustainable solution. Kiritsugu only.
-Work on downgrading Shirou's idealism before he selfdestructs. - Maiya or Kiritsugu must cover this
-Seek a cure for Hayate. - Irisviel is the most likely one who can sort this out, unless Ilya or Shirou social link with someone exceptional.
-Strengthen bonds with Rin. - *Fires Harem Protagonist from gun*
-Maintain family stability.

Year 6: Adults
Year 6: Adults

The 5th Grail War was over, allowing the TSAB, Yuuno, and your family to return to a semblance of normalcy. No one had won, but there had been very few casualties among your allies. Furthermore, the destruction of the Lesser Grail was… underwhelming, after everything that had been done to hunt Precia down in the first place.

As a side note, Topher Joiner won't be paying rent this year for his use of the Einzbern Castle. He is instead planning to use the money he would normally use for rent to make repairs to the castle to undo the damage that was done to it in the Grail War.

Still, there is the possibility of another Grail War, and it is never too early to start preparing for it…

[X] Catalyst Hunt
-[X] Catalyst Hunt: Kiritsugu
-[X] Catalyst Hunt: Maiya
One does not need a catalyst to summon a Servant. However, it influences the likelihood of a specific Servant being summoned. By going out to get a hold of certain catalysts, not only would you force people to summon by compatibility (or rather, summon the Servant that is most like the Master, which could cause some backfiring match-ups if you steal the right catalyst), but also provide options for the Grail War.

Kiritsugu Emiya's Plans for the Year: (Choose 2)
[X] Kiritsugu: Never Again
The Fifth War has come and gone, but there is the possibility of a Sixth. Actually, considering that the Fifth occurred fifty-five years early, it is likely that if no actions are taken, the Sixth War is going to occur far sooner than what you'd like. By blowing up the ley lines around Fuyuki, you can most likely stop the charging the Grail, or at least slow it down.
(Cost: 3 Resources, 1 Time) (Benefit: ???)

[X] Kiritsugu: Nuking the Grail
The Fuyuki Greater Grail is the cause of the Grail Wars. You have three magical girls who are either in your family or are friendly to you, another that now can be reasoned with, a vigilante team with powerful mystic codes that you can speak with, and a significant number of refugees that are used to magic. By throwing all your fire-power at the Grail, you could prevent all future Grail Wars in Fuyuki.
(Cost: 3 Resources, ???) (Benefit: Fuyuki Greater Grail Destroyed)

[X] Kiritsugu: Target: Tohno
You are confused as to how this particular request got into your files, addressed to you directly, but it seems that someone really wants the Tohno head dead for some reason. The base reward is questionable, a small amount compared to normal assassinations… but the final reward is whatever treasures you can loot from the mansion, and… a marriage contract for Shirou?!? The only people off-limits to kill are the maids and the heiress. Finally, there's even a detailed map of the Tohno mansion…
(Cost: 2 Resources, 1 Time) (Benefit: 40% Death; If survive, 60% Tohno head dead, 1+2d6 Resources, Marriage Contract to Shirou if Tohno dead)

[X] Kiritsugu: Target: Tohno Family
Someone else wants the Tohno line ended. Completely. The current head, the heiress, the hidden heir in the basement, most of the servants, and all of the Tohno relatives with a direct bloodline to the Tohno. All of them dead. The base reward is questionable, a small amount compared to normal assassinations, but the final reward is what catches your eyes: whatever that can be looted from the mansion, and a marriage contract for Shirou. However, how the contract is to be enforced when the person to be married to Shirou is on the kill list is a question that needs to be answered.
(Cost: 4 Resources, 2 Time) (Benefit: 50% Death; If survive, % of Tohno family dead, 1+2d6 Resources)

[X] Kiritsugu: Hitman for Hire
The neighbors would disapprove, but you could possibly kill a few someones that are causing someone else trouble. You just need to take the relatively safe contracts.
(Cost: 1% chance of death on job) (Benefit: Work as an Assassin, +6 Resources)

[X] Kiritsugu: Return of the Magus Killer
The neighbors won't like it, but you can return to your old job to bring an income. There is likely some dark magus in Japan that might be better off dead just waiting for an opportunity to prey on the innocent.
(Cost: 1 Time, 1 Resource, 20% chance of death on job) (Benefit: Work as an Assassin, +10 Resources)

[X] Kiritsugu: MBI Employment
The head of MBI has a special position available for Kiritsugu, one that has a duality of being his bodyguard and heading off any threats to him.
(Benefit: +5 Resources)

[X] Kiritsugu: Dreams? Or Something More?
There's these odd dreams… perhaps delving into them and understanding them could be useful.
(Benefit: Learn of these odd dreams, Stay at home more, choose one option)
-[X] Dream: A small town in the sky, where a hero in green goes to the surface beneath the clouds and fights against… Saber.
-[X] Dream: A series of girls interacting with Kyoko and a catlike creature that seems too familiar.
-[X] Dream: This seems familiar… is it Fuyuki before it was destroyed? Wait, is that a teenage Shirou? And why did the spearman kill him?!?
-[X] Dream: A land of steel waits in your dreams… a land where the world is dead, but its children live on in defiance of its last wish.

[X] Kiritsugu: Kiritsugu's Mundane Job (Write-In)
Surely you can find a mundane job in the world you can do. Right? Right? (Write-In Job)
(Benefit: Possible Mundane Work, +3 Resources or +1 Resource, Stay at home more)

[X] Kiritsugu: Hobbyist (Write-In Hobby)
You could take up a mundane hobby. People get paid for doing their hobbies all the time. How hard could it be? (Write-In Hobby)
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities, stay at home more)

[X] Kiritsugu: Magecraft Training
Your middle children, Shirou and Illya, have learned how to use magecraft effectively. However, you can teach them a few tricks of the trade, and possibly get them to adapt a few things of your added magecraft to work normally for normal magi.
(Cost: 1 Time) (Benefit: Kiritsugu's Magecraft +1, children's magecraft has assassin leanings)

[X] Kiritsugu: Demon Hunter
You need Grief Seeds in order to not 'Witch-out', it seems, and a series of demons drop these 'Grief Seeds'. By searching and going out, you can hunt these demons, putting the people they came from out of their misery, make the places you visit safer, and obtain Grief Seeds. Because of your focus on one area last year, you'll have to spend more in order to achieve the same results. (If Desperate Times, Desperate Measures is also chosen, Time Costs are instead halved (Minimum of 1, Round Up))
(Cost: 2 Resource) (Benefit: No Time cost or Upkeep this year)

[X] Kiritsugu: Deal with the Kaleido Knights
Around the time of the Fourth Grail War, there was a massive increase in demon activity in Fuyuki City, the kind of which that dropped Grief Seeds that you need. The Fuyuki Knights have mostly eliminated the threat, and because they have no use for the Grief Seeds, Rin Tohsaka is willing to part with a stockpile they built up for a price, to build back up the rapidly dwindling Tohsaka fortune.
(Cost: 5 Resources) (Benefit: +5 Time)

[X] Kiritsugu: The Living Sword's Last Gift
It has finally occurred to you that there is another legacy of the Fourth Grail War, a large black spike embedded in the ground in Fuyuki, marking the spot where a large beast fell that had appeared at the death of your Saber. Although the matter should be over with, there is something about it that unnerves you that might bear investigation…
(Benefit: Information)

[X] Kiritsugu: The Bloody Past of the Magus Killer
Shirou sees you as a hero. While that may be true now, you were anything but in your youth. By telling him stories of what you have done, you may be able to remove him from the path that will put him like how you almost ended up.
(Benefit: Stays at home more, Shirou's Distortion reduces, Shirou's Underworld Knowledge +1)

[X] Kiritsugu: Desperate Times, Desperate Measures
There is too much for you to do. Perhaps burning what little life force you have left will allow you to get everything you need done.
(Cost: 2 Time) (Benefit: Choose 2 other options for Kiritsugu, indented under this choice)

[X] Kiritsugu: Kaleidoscope's Introduction
There is someone that Zelretch wants you to meet soon. If you're ready, he can arrange an introduction to this person at his Café.
(Benefit: ???)

[X] Kiritsugu: The Family Man
You are on a timer until your death. Perhaps it would be nice to simply relax with your family.
(Benefit: stay at home more, connect with neighbors more easily, -1 Upkeep this year)

[X] Kiritsugu: Other Plans (Write-In)
Perhaps there is something else that can be done?

Irisviel von Einzbern's Plans for the Year: (Choose 2)
[X] Irisviel: Research on Destroying the Grail
Outright destroying the Grail would likely be very costly, even if it would stop all future Grail Wars in Fuyuki. By doing research on what the destroyers are going to be doing, it might be possible to reduce the cost of taking the Grail apart.
(Benefit: Reduces cost of 'Nuking the Grail')

[X] Irisviel: Guaranteed Psychiatrist
Shirou has a significant problem, putting others before himself, and only taking care of himself when no others would be in danger. It was only by taking him to a Psychiatrist against his will that it was discovered just how deeply his problem went. It will take years for him to get over this problem.
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Stays at home more, weakens Shirou's Distortion, Shirou's Influence +1)

[X] Irisviel: Creating a Point of Attachment
Shirou has a heavy distortion, one that might get him killed if it is not dealt with. Furthermore, Irisviel knows that she won't be in his life forever. While Shirou might supposed to be a harem protagonist, so many ties might not be beneficial to him. Directing Shirou to a single girl to get him to spend time with her may be a better idea.
(Benefit: Extra introduction for Shirou, or additional time spent with someone for Shirou, Irisviel stays at home more)

[X] Irisviel: Driving Lessons
She drives well… but if she's going to drive long-term in Japan, she's going have to spend a lot of time practicing to drive properly. You don't need to spend millions of Yen on parking fines and driving violations!
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities for her, stays at home more)

[X] Irisviel: Reality Marble?
In the middle of the Jewel Seed Conflict, a Jewel Seed reacted… poorly to Shirou, and got embedded in him. If Irisviel can speak with the TSAB and get permission from both them and Shirou, the matter could be explored further.
(Benefit: Information, Irisviel stays at home more)

[X] Irisviel: Disposing of the Jewel Seed
There has got to be a way to get rid of the Jewel Seed that is in Shirou. Perhaps Irisviel can convince a surgeon refugee from Mid-Childa to come to Earth?
(Cost: ???) (Benefit: ???)

[X] Irisviel: Mundane Job (Write-in job)
Working on a manga series might be nice, but variety is the spice of life. Another job might be more useful, right? (Write-in job choice)
(Benefit: Possible Mundane Work, +3 Resources or +1 Resource, Stay at home more)

[X] Irisviel: Mangaka
The genderswaps of ancient mythical heroes seemed surprisingly well received. Perhaps continuing the series would bring in a good amount of money for use for the family.
(Benefit: Mundane Work, +4 Resources, Stay at home more, +1 Drawing)

[X] Irisviel: TYPE-MOON Company
A man who is the great-grandchild of one of Zelretch's apprentices has seen Irisviel's work, and would like to have her work as the head artist of a project he is tentatively calling 'Moon Princess'.
(Benefit: Mundane Work, +2 Resources)

[X] Irisviel: Hobby of the Einzbern (Write-In Hobby)
Now that Irisviel is away from the castle, she has some freedom in what activities to pursue. Perhaps there is one she is interested in? (Write-In Hobby choice)
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities, stay at home more)

[X] Irisviel: Magecraft Training
There is little more that Irisviel can teach the older children, and the younger children are too young for Magecraft. Still, they might be able to learn a few things of the Einzbern magecraft, the original bearers of which are dead.
(Benefit: Irisviel stays at home more, children's magecraft has Einzbern leanings)

[X] Irisviel: The Dotting Mother
There is something to be said in just spending time with the family Irisviel is in. Of course, this gives the perfect opportunity to take care of the children and connect with the neighbors.
(Benefit: stay at home more, connect with neighbors more easily, -1 Upkeep this year)

[X] Irisviel: Other Plans (Write-In)
Perhaps there is something else that can be done?

Maiya Hisau's Plans for the Year: (Choose 2)
[X] Maiya: English Translator (Legal)
If Irisviel makes another manga, Maiya could translate it again to increase profits overseas. If she doesn't, Maiya could instead serve as a translator for other mangas and be on hand if someone needs something translated.
(Benefit: stay at home more, +2-3 Resources)

[X] Maiya: English Translator (Illegal)
A few contacts of the Fujimura Yakuza say that a few of their contacts are good at smuggling contraband into countries, but they haven't had the patience to learn the local language of Japan. Maiya would be well paid to help make sure that there is no miscommunication between people.
(Cost: Personal Risk if Yakuza exposed again, poorer relations with neighbors) (Benefit: +3-4 Resources)

[X] Maiya: Yakuza Reorganization
The uncovering a few years ago has gotten more attention on the Fujimura Yakuza than is beneficial. By creating false leads and moving some people around, the risk of detection will be drastically decreased.
(Cost: Personal Risk if Yakuza exposed again, poorer relations with neighbors) (Benefit: +1-2 Resources, Fujimura Yakuza discovery chance restored to normal)

[X] Maiya: Illegal Immigrants
Refuges are continuing to come from Mid-Childa, with no end to them in sight. If the TSAB slipped up and they got caught by the mundane government, there could be problems that could have been avoided. By creating citizenships and forcing them into the system, the problem of the refugees can be cut out. As a bonus, Maiya could also bring an income this way.
(Cost: Personal Risk and National Attention if Yakuza exposed again) (Benefit: 2-3 Resources)

[X] Maiya: A New Job (Write-In)
There are plenty of jobs out there, and while Maiya has no experience with a normal job, it might be a good idea for her to get one. (Write-in job choice)
(Benefit: Possible Mundane Work, +3 Resources or +1 Resource, Maiya stays at home more)

[X] Maiya: Underworld Teachings
There is a darker world beneath the surface, one where the standard laws don't apply. Maiya wishes to teach Taiga, Shirou, and Illya of this world so that they can either enter it prepared or know what to look for to stay out of it.
(Benefit: Maiya, Illya, and Shirou Underworld Knowledge +1, Maiya stays at home more, children prepared for Yakuza Ruler job)

[X] Maiya: Target: Tohno
Kiritsugu has received a contract to kill the head of the Tohno Clan. It has the potential to be very lucrative, if he has enough hands to help him survive the attack and enough hands to carry the possessions that will make the kill look like an accident amid a theft.
(Can only be done if Kiritsugu does Target: Tohno or Target: Tohno Family)
(Benefit: Improve Odds of Success and Rewards)

[X] Maiya: A New Hobby (Write-In)
There might be a hobby that catches Maiya's eyes. Now that she's in a family that is trying to be normal, it might be a good idea to try it. (Write-In Hobby choice)
(Cost: 1 Resource) (Benefit: Opens opportunities, stay at home more)

[X] Maiya: Practical Magecraft
Not all magecraft is big and flashy. Sometimes, it is the smaller, less seen effects that make the most impact. By teaching the children some of the hidden uses, they might be able to use magecraft subtly, possibly even in public places without drawing attention.
(Benefit: Maiya Magecraft +1, Maiya stays at home more, children's magecraft has mundane utility leanings)

[X] Maiya: Hitwoman
There is always someone who needs someone else dead. By fulfilling contracts to kill certain people, Maiya would likely be able to bring in some money for food.
(Cost: 1% chance of death on job) (Benefit: Work as an Assassin, +6 Resources)

[X] Maiya: Hero Untraining
Shirou has a few heroic leanings. Normally, this wouldn't be too big of a problem, but normally a potential hero doesn't consider sacrificing himself to save more people. By running Shirou through a few thought exercises, perhaps she could dissuade some of his personality to become something less self-sacrificing.
(Benefit: Stays at home more, weakens Shirou's Distortion, Shirou's Underworld Knowledge +1)

[X] Maiya: War Focus
Despite the fact that Maiya was originally planning on only placing a slight effort into prepare for the War, perhaps there is something else that she could do that would be beneficial.
(Benefit: Top two War Plans for Maiya are used instead of just the top one)

[X] Maiya: Home Life
Maiya has gone from one conflict to another. Perhaps it is time for her to take a long break and interact with the kids, and see if you can get some food from one of the other families.
(Benefit: stay at home more, connect with neighbors more easily, -1 Upkeep this year)

[X] Maiya: Other Plans (Write-In)
Perhaps there is something else that can be done?

Remember, you can suggest other options for each of the adults, and even move between the adults to give one another their activities, if need-be.

I've tried my best to incorperate most of your desires, even if it is only a path to your desires (did you really think you were going to heal Hayate that easily?). Good luck.

-Seek a cure for Hayate. - Irisviel is the most likely one who can sort this out, unless Ilya or Shirou social link with someone exceptional.
-Strengthen bonds with Rin. - *Fires Harem Protagonist from gun*
After some discussion outside the thread, myself and @reborn214 thought of a clever solution to both these issues.

Irisviel and or Illya should have memories of Rin's ancestor being one of the other students of Zelretch and the homework assignment he gave them. Let's sell Rin the chance to examine a projected Jeweled Sword (use the memories that Irisviel and Illya have, like in Heaven's Feel) in exchange for the money needed to pay Touko Aozaki to fix Hayate.

Edit:
I don't want to adopt Hayate! That would mean we can't ship her with Shirou!

Really should get around to this before they finish puberty. We've a harem protagonist in the household and embarrassing them out of any...accidents is a good start.

[ ] A Deal Between Magi

Extremely expensive, but Hayate has a short clock and the experiments would only make things worse. Start saving up for it.

[X] Kiritsugu: The Bloody Past of the Magus Killer
[X] Kiritsugu: Kaleidoscope's Introduction

If Zeltretch wants to introduce us, that's probably something we should look into.
And start undermining Shirou's distortion. As Shirou's role model, Kiritsugu is the best bet for making a dent there.

I'm conflicted on breaking the Grail, we do need a Caster to have any chance of healing Hayate, and if we can actually win it, Ilya and Iri should be able to perform Heaven's Feel in full.

[X] Irisviel: Mangaka

Irisviel is making mad bank there, keep doing it.

[X] Maiya: Yakuza Reorganization
[X] Maiya: Illegal Immigrants

The Yakuza is pretty important to our income, and lowering discovery chance is important at this point. This gives us more contacts with the TSAB, the Mid-childan migrants(which means more potential contacts to help us), as well as much needed funds.

5 + 4 + 2/3 = 11 or 12
Upkeep is 7 and we get 1 from the yakuza

@veekie
7 resources - 7 (upkeep) + 1 (yakuza) + 5 (Kiritsugu) + 4 (Irisviel) + 2-3 (Maiya) = 12-13 resources
We can afford to save Hayate from further experimentation right away. It would leave us with either 2 or 3 resources left over.

Getting Shirou a steady girlfriend who discourages him from acting stupidly will help keep his distortion under control.

When we can, we should look into selling Rin a chance to look at a projected Jeweled Sword. Maybe that can be a combo event for Illya and Shirou?

We actually don't need a Caster. Touko's spare body WOG from Random Tale says it would let Illya age and fix that problem. I imagine since Hayate's problems is her body getting her a new one would probably work. I mean Graham would probably be willing to shell out the cash if we guilt trip him. In canon, that guy funded Hayate's living after he failed to do exactly what he did right now. We also could sell the Jewel Sword to Rin. In canon, Rin plus Matou family tomes was enough to afford one of Touko's body, so it isn't too unreasnable to assume that Rin could shell out most of the cash for a Touko spare body.

I want to do the Type-Moon job because it looks like it will hint at the Tsukihime plot. But that's just me. >.>

Also, from hints in past years, MBI is actively monitoring Shirou and this area, and we'll probably get sucked into the plot of Seikirei when it happens.

True, but in that sense, getting inside info before the plot begins is probably a good thing.
