Cadia Still Stands - Warhammer 40k/Xianxia

[X] Stores them in the room where Uldon was until he was sure what to do with it.
[X] Bring it home until he could hide it in the Hollow.
[X] Leave it alone for now, he could take his time studying it later.

[X] He began cutting one of them apart. He couldn't take it all home, but a child carrying a chunk of meat (or at least what looked like it) home wasn't the most absurd sight.
-[X] Take meat from the leader.
[X] Bring it home and hide it in his room. Might raise some questions if it was found, but it would at least keep it nearby if he needed it...
[X] Drink more before leaving, it seemed to have a notable effect on his Body Refining so perhaps more could help him along further?

So... are we going to see a series of supporting characters who had deep, meaningful relationships with our isekai candidates that wind up getting thrown out of reality in transcending final moments of self-sacrificial awesome? I mean, I'm totally okay with that if so, but it seems like a really specific theme.

I suppose that for Yun Er it would be a beast companion of some sort.

I suspect that either A) the Pool was not something we should have drank from and our brief tag along was a result of it, or B) he didn't actually have the power to do anything to us beyond remove the infection, so it was sort of a bluff.
From context, I think the latter.

Regarding the vote over the meat... maybe we shouldn't be too eager to eat the meat of what appears to be a Khorne-tainted monster, before we even really understand what it is or what it might do to us? We just saw some kind of malignant presence get expelled from us that we had no awareness of before, that apparently probably entered us just from us being here. I'm willing to try more of the red liquid because our friendly ghost friend (RIP) vouched for it, but nothing else down here has that vote of confidence so Li has only his own imperfect recollection of cultivation arts from a totally different setting to guide his understanding of what eating these critters might do. For that matter, if the meat DOES detect as tainted, and we got caught with THAT... I think the theoretical opportunity cost from leaving the meat behind is lesser than the possible risk of taking it.

That's... an excellent point about the meat. The "beast meat" is the sort of thing that's great when you're in pure xianxia land, but is a much more dubious proposition with the WH40K influences. It's not just being caught with it, either. If we bring it home, we might be inclined to eat it... and eating chaos-tainted stuff is badmojo.

vote edited.

Are we eating it? There's nothing in the vote about that, merely taking it home. Presumably so we can study it.

The xianxia trope is that you eat Spirit Beasts/magical critters to power up, and that's the logic that Li was thinking of it with in the earlier update:
[] Li had never studied the Beast Arts, or the strange Medicae knowledge this world seemed to have, but perhaps if he dissected this creature he could find something of note? At the very least he could confirm it was a Spirit Beast and such a creature's flesh and blood would likely be beneficial to his cultivation.

i didn't read like that, what I read is Li study the beast :

I really don't think we need to keep it in our room in order to study it, given that dissecting it on the spot was an option before. But further argument over the protagonist's intent without word of the QM to confirm either way is probably not going to be fruitful at this point.

You don't need to keep in your room for studying, it's merely much more convenient to do so and having it in your home means that you wouldn't be worrying about the inevitable discovery of the tunnels where the rest is while you do so. You'll get options for studying the beasts, exploring the rest of the area, etc. in the next update but the area is ultimately a ticking clock that could disappear when a patrol or maintenance team heads near it.

Damn I almost forgot to put in my choices for this Turn! So glad that I took the time to re-read the update in my free time this day.

Tick tock.

does ability of Psyker somehow enhance his skills in cultivation?
So far as we're aware, there isn't anyone who both is a cultivator and is a psyker, so... not so much a concern? At least not yet.

The thing about psykers is that some people might think that certain of our cultivation abilities are psyker powers, and psykers in the Imperium are treated in very specific ways. We... probably don't want to be treated in those ways.

i wonder what sorta effect soulbinding have on cultivation? i mean engraving a part of Emperor's soul will either be a boon or curse.
