[X] Early Aquafarm Destruction Attempt: This would be the greatest guarantee towards Natasha's survival, and the worst for the long-term efforts of Hultressa at the Fulmination being discovered as a result of heightened security and paranoia. The destruction of another food production location, or at least the damaging of it, would further reduce food stock on the Black Ark and worsen Alyssa's position. At the same time, if Natasha acts too early, the less damage she may be able to do towards the aquafarm itself. For now, your wife seems mostly certain she can cripple it, if not destroy it. With the majority of the military of the Ark dedicated to slave raids, Natasha's escape is all but guaranteed according to Hultressa. Sabotaging the pyramid will go through just before the auction for maximum destabilization - assuming Hultressa's efforts are not stymied too greatly of course. Which they may well might be.

Canon Katterin at this point was transformed into a Lahmian and managed to resist for over a century the scion of an entire subspecies beating down your mental defensives. Obviously a lot has happened behind the scenes but well established is her husband dying put her down the path to run into the vampires. We have seen that she is kicking the pants off of the vampires as they manipulate skaven cultists, chaos cultists, the actual cults of Ursun and Dazh and Tor, her SON, and a decent portion of her country to the point of civil war. I think we can safely say she isn't a vampire at this point but also she isn't all there. I imagine with all that's happening she may have to abdicate and Alexandra or one of her sons take over. (assuming it goes her way)
Ok I didn't know that, but her being a vampire is so far down my list of worse case scenarios. For me the worst case scenario is katterin losses and our daughter gets thrown into the bonfire for being her right hand woman, as well as them linking her to the empire and becoming mega isolationist. I don't think there is a single possible positive end to the civil war, at most we can reduce our losses and save our daughter.

Basically we keep our hands away from the fire and try to pick up whatever coals are leftover. I'm really not confident in doing anything besides saving our daughter, which I'm not even sure how she will react to us wanting her to leave. I mean she seems very invested, what if she wants to stay?

[X] Middle Aquafarm Destruction Attempt: A middle ground between boosting the destruction capable to be caused by both Natasha and Hultressa, the damage shared between them might be considered equal in most aspects. Except that Hultressa is a powerful sorceress and Natasha and your other allies and friends would be in far more danger on their lonesome, even with her working to ensure their evacuation. The damage done to the aquafarm would be increased with surety, as well as allowing Hultressa to work with more impunity. However, the danger increases on the part of your wife, as the longer the Ark is given to stabilize, the more difficult it would be for her to be extracted safely. With the islands left behind, this fact is quite a grave one.

[X] Middle Aquafarm Destruction Attempt

Hultressa is the only healer Freddy has access to. Taking the Early option while it saves Natasha, puts the one person that cannot afford to be lost at risk.

Because lets say the quest lose Hultressa to death on the Black Ark, some people in the thread will be happy to lose a druchii sorceress. However, Freddy is not going to immediately reach Ostland after leaving the Black Ark with only Natasha. Freddy, and company will be travelling through Norsca, and during this time having a healer will be important, as Freddy has very rarely managed without a healer or access to healing immediately after fighting a foe.

Early or late are risks. Mid is, a knifes edge on benefits, but I stand by Hultressa cannot be lost if Freddy is to reach Ostland alive.

When dust settles, Empire should seriously consider tackling Skaven.

Can they?
Not to be rude, but that's a hard no.

Its been a theme for a while in the story. The Skaven under empire is on the scale of a world spanning polity. They have clans and tribes that span the entire world. The overworld is a side concern to them. They only thing that keeps them from rushing the surface and drowning the world in rat bodies is the fact that their inherent scheming nature and division amongst the 13 major Clans that keeps them divided and focused on each other. The Empire and Dwarves may be able to eliminate an undercity or minor clan here or there, but there are thousands more where they came from. The efforts at Karak Ungor and the death of one of the 13 Verminlords, was an exception when it comes to dealing with Skaven, not the rule.

Going on the offensive when it comes to the Skaven takes time, planning and preparation, lest the ones who attack the rat's nest draw the full attention of the inhabitants.

Sounds like rat wanking.
Not that I belive the empire can take on the skaven in its entirety, it needs to actually unfuck it's inner problems overground and have a way larger population, but keep the rats away from their major cities, it's possible with the dawi help in making actually sewer fortress.

Taking on the whole skaven is like declaring war on the orks trough worse yet underground orks that you don't know how to fight.

The chances are never zero but by dooing so is admitting defeat, meaning that some other hail merry are preferable.

Honestly, I can see myself voting for any one of the choices. It's all a matter of what we're prepared to risk and what we want to achieve the most. Naturally, I'd rather not lose anyone, so Im more inclined for the middle option, but that naturally increases the chances of us losing people more, failing objectives more, or both.

Or it could all end up hunky-dory in the end, who knows?

Personally, I assumed her lack of care for the cult of Khaine had something to do with seeing one of Khaine's greatest get killed. By a human. Surprised Hultressa didn't consider that possibility.

And on the length of the arc, well, I had imagined for a long time that whilst some people rue'd the dice rolls for not letting us capture both Arks, Torroar rues them because they led to undesired bloat, instead of this having been finished at part 5 or 6.
"Perhaps I should have just let them had the Ark, letting the players have all that extra loot would probably have been worth avoiding this headache. I can't believe it, but perhaps avoiding headaches for me is more important than denying them nice things."

(Please interpret this correctly as levity rather than insult. Obviously that's not what his actual thoughts are like. Is joke, relating to stereotype of GMs enjoying players suffering)

To be fair ostoland will be Vietnam for them right now, not only they are as strong as they could be but they have the help of dawi and Asur that are kicking themselves for not being able to help and Eonir that are not wanting to be show up.

Ostland will be a lot stronger once the elector count and the runefang are back in their borders. People are already wondering how much they should listen to Magnus the Younger and that will only get worse if a major invasion hits while the actual ruler with the proper signs of legitimate rule are away.
