Maybe we'll even find an occasion to "nuzzle" someone without shocking them! Which would be shocking! ;)

We need to be smart kinda the point of the journey by the end we will be so smart and strong that we will be able to beat any trainer easily! Even the trainer who beat us before will be no match! And we will see how they react to a Pokémon that makes a city for Pokémon!

there are a LOT of odd assumptions being made here that you might want to, like, reexamine
 
Look- I'm thinking about potential Combo's right now gang.

Theft look super appealing- but hear me out. If we get ninja skills right now- and then get Thief later- that would just empower Thief as well when we get it. Super sonic nabs.

Not only that, but empowering Quick attack now rather then later opens up some... ideas. Quick attack is really just super speed. We may need to spec a bit into precision at bit to do it, but what's more dangerous then a demonic rat who can build technologically advanced rube goldberg machines around you like a master builder from the lego movie?

Of course we could spec into that later and not go speedy today, nabing something else, but general utility when we are actively not looking for normal fights- but tactical warfare seems very handy all the same. Again, why get hit when you can schmove.

Yeah super speed would be a help for building traps in the moment.

Not to mention positioning is important too, and super speed would help with that!

Not to mention Quick Attack makes us supernaturally lighter, which should enable shenanigans'...
 
Quick Attack is just generally useful yeah. Speed and maneuverability underpins both Pikachu combat and Pikachu shenanigans. If you're unsure about how we want to focus our development rn, it's just a safe pick because it supports every path well imo.

James comes from a high class family and could probably go for the job if he wanted and managed to avoid his fiancee enough to resume civilian life.

I assume Meowth does the actual mayor work. James is great at people(and pokemon) facing stuff, genuinely kind and empathic. He is just kinda ass at the bossing people around part(Meowth is good at that tho)
