Since there a business there's always the possibility of finding there expansion abroad into other regions.
 
And think for a minute, the Assassins are pushing a new King onto power, the Old and Templar Aligned King's authority is weak as hell, the French Templars can't do anything to stop this push, the French Assassins own that territory, they are entrenched and the balance of power favors them, an upstart street gang isn't going to do shit.

No the old king wasn't really aligned either way, assassin or templar

We should have started this ages ago, may as well do it now. We only really have two AP to play with without leaving any projects hanging for a year and that amount gets sliced in half when we add the obligatory "don't ignore your family" action, so here is my plan.

There are no solutions because we don't know squat about the situation save that the French Guild was behind the burglary, my plan moves to finally start the process of rectifying that.

We find out who they are, what they are doing and why they are doing it, then we will know how to destroy them and take back what they have stolen.
Assuming we don't flounder too much and let them plunder/disburse our secrets to others before we can get them back.

You don't need to spend an action to not ignore the family, using an action just means spending even more time with them and possibly getting the relationship up

Valentino brother caesare has formed his crows and have likely grown to quite a large number since he left Italy, we could have Valentino write a letter to caesare telling him about the pieces of Eden (at least the shroud) and the names of the assassins that stole them having caesare make his crows focus on the activities of the French and the French assassins.
Alternatively we could ask caesare or have arano train up our own version of the crows to try to get the pieces back though that would take longer.
For weakening the French? There's the possibility of having arano and the assassins (not the creed) under our employ target the assassin aligned king or maybe have guillame and the advise of the cento Ochi form a pirate/privateer fleet to target French ships to weaken them after all its unlikely that we'll get the pieces back in one or two turns and there's already plenty of pirates operating in former ottoman waters that could be hired as potential privateers to target our enemies shipping.
Maybe have ilario form a trade deal with England and sent the English supplies to continue putting pressure on the French.

Then there's always the slow option of having arano find the various criminal and rebel groups and build a network in France itself to wrest control away from the assassins.

Your plans good the only things I changed was having ilario do a trade deal with England since for all the recent closeness and loans given to the English king we still don't have have a trade deal with him and spending an action sending a letter to caesare trying to get him to have his crows target the French assassins since he's currently better equipped to handle them than us at the moment.

Wrong, we know "The Order of Assassins: French division" stole from us. Who it was remains entirely unknown. It could have been Joan de Arc back from the dead for all you know.

You can't act against a monolith by punching a monolith,, you have to chip it down into smaller parts and smash those parts until the monolith is just powder.

We should at least talk to him about it, if he leaves then we could take over the papal lands, if not then we would want to know his long term plans with those lands

I have a question about actions?
Are we limited to only six for the whole quest or do certain actions unlock more actions per turn like building and expanding government administration or gaining a certain amount of advisors or would it be more along the lines of having Valentino only able to direct six actions and having npc's be able to direct their own actions after a point where the government administration/corporation valentino has set up has expanded beyond one man's total control.
