I think there may be some kind of mistake here. I just scrolled down from that post and I'm fairly certain I was the fourth person to take that option.
 
Ima vote Yes even tho my character is fucking insane and probs would do the opposite. Srsly they have mental issues if there pretending to be a zombie, maybe their loved ones died or some tragic backstory lol.

Dennis carefully read every single chat message and information that led to the creation of World's End Party, so there are people who wanted to die on a high note. He was tempted to go and observe what will happen but based on what he know about the virus the might be nothing but a super spreader event.

Plus he is still working on the garden and he won't go out until he's done with the improvised spear, he hopes the duct tape will stick.

Because it's nice and cheap, reasonable-seeming to the populace, and provides a 1:1 buff (cheaper than the extreme lockdown).

He does not know how he decently understands how the body works, maybe he was a doctor before getting amnesia, or atleast had a good education

    In Washington D.C, several non-descript black SUVs arrived at an old Cold War bunker reserved by leaders in the highest echelon of political power. A collection of generals, admirals, the chiefs-of-staff, CIA and FBI directors, and other more obscure officials had gathered to conduct what was likely their last in-person meeting. The bunker's premises were guarded by active duty service members from all branches of the military, organized into a specialized department of the Secret Service.

    CIA Director: "Our most up to date reports suggest that we may lose Europe by Mid October. My people tell me that our operations in South America are on the edge of compromise. God knows what the hell is happening in Africa, we haven't received any dispatches from central africa in days. Russia keeps telling us that they have their situation under control but our satelites are capturing images of large uncontrolled fires throughout Western Russia. And the Chinese, there's a lot of commotion going on in Beijing, they have so far been able to contain the plague through ruthless measures and universal lockdown. But, their economic situation worries top leadership in the communist party. Without American consumption, their manufacturing sector will collapse, if the CCP is unable to control their population, it's inevitable that the virus breaks in. Tell me something good."

    General Arnold Broderick, US Air Force: "In accordance with the plan, ground forces have secured our airbases without issue. I can say with confidence that our personnel are ready for sustained aerial campaigns."

He's trying to keep the economy going despite the worse pandemic to hit the world since the Black Death. We can get along just fine without the Chinese. The virus hasn't yet hit the countryside with any real force, if we can take care of the cities then we should be able to mop up out in flyover country."

    CIA Director: "What does the CDC have to say? Any good news from the labs?"

    CDC Director, Dr Vinheimer: "We have studied every sample throughly, the European strain has shown the most variation so far, it has mutated into a fully airborne pathogen with the shortest incubation period being less than an hour in some cases. Originally, the stages of the disease altogether took about 15 hours from the start of flu like symptoms to final necrotic rabid takeover of the brain.. The strains in South America and Africa are following close behind. Fortunately for the United States, the virus has yet to become so virulent, it's fully airborne yes but the symptoms have only accelerated to 7 hours before final stage. Our luck wont last forever, I strongly recommend the closure of international and interstate borders and immediate nationwide lockdown."

    National Security Advisor: *a longer than normal pause* "Gentleman, we must expect the worse while hoping for the best outcome. If what Dr Vinheimer says is correct then we must accept that Europe will be lost. The number of estimated infected in France alone has surpassed 100,000. I don't expect South America to survive and Africa is a write off. The Chinese and Russians shouldn't be trusted, I can ensure you that the plague has already defeated Moscow. Soon they will resort to nuking themselves in desperation, the same with Beijing. We musn't let our situation get to that point. Dont worry about the president or congress, they've been out of the loop since the beginning. I have a meeting with the president and his cabinet this evening, I will have the country on lockdown by midnight."

Anyway, we are just receiving word that the US Airforce has executed three airstrikes in Manhatten as national guard soldiers retreat across the Brooklyn Bridge."

    "A spokesperson for the New York National Guard said that efforts to suppress the necrotic plague in Manhatten has failed and that all bridges to the island will be demolished within the hour. The White House is expected to give a press conference in the next 45 minutes in regard to ongoing efforts to stabilize the situation in New York City."

The Army Chief-of-Staff have praised national guard personnel for their heroism and fortitude in their efforts to maintain order and freedom throughout the country. He went on to say that reinforcements will be arriving by Friday, September 15th in all major cities."

    "Protests have not abated however despite the statewide lockdown declared last evening with anarchist groups defiant as they condemn what they see as the beginning of a military dictatorship.     • Col. Johnson, Ret, will go around his neighborhood, which is mostly full of retired folks, trying to find those in good enough shape to organize into a sort of neighborhood community association for mutual support and defense. Talking the gardeners into growing crops instead of flowers, the ones with tech skills into jury-rigging things and monitoring the internet, and some of the more fit folks to help patrol the area and keep an eye out for zombies. He will also see if he can't get ahold of some walkie talkies to build a radio net. There must be some amatuer Ham radio folks among the retired.
     
    (OOC: Well... that happened... now I'm a bit morbidly curious who got picked from the "No"-vote pot on the last update...)

    After partying, and safely returning back to her residence without coming across anything a zombie thriller movie might throw at her neither coming across the police that started to round up the party, Mikhaela felt groggy and had a massive headache and hangover yet still trying to take notice of the news. Which was probably a bad idea as every channel and news broadcast continued to add more blackness to the slowly but surely growing grim reality they have right now. Thankfully she's all stock up in supplies for a few months if she ration her supplies properly but still, it is still rather scary if she thinks about it. An on-going curfew even for non-essential workers.

    ...wonder if she can send out a drone of hers to look around her residence? That... seemed to be a good idea. Maybe even modify it a bit to have longer duration by minimizing its load as it looks like drone racing may be on-hold indefinitely... turning one of her racing drones to a surveillance-esque one should be easy... after searching up a few tutorials in G--gle that is.

    ..maybe a few incognito searches with VPNs too on how to fit a lethal weapon like a gun unto a drone for self-defence whilst she's at it. Just in case... she did remember some Airsoft enthusiasts that uses tanks and drone 'strikes' in their wargames...
     
    Jason exhaled, calmed his nerves, waited for the sights to line up and squeezed. A small kickback, a bright flash and a loud bang. The bullet flew in seemingly slow motion, piercing the eye and flying into the head. Gunshot to the head, most likely a perforating wound. Treatment, Aggressively resuscitate, Bring to the hospital as quickly as possible where they will do a CT scan on it.

    He was broken out of his shock by his partner's shouting. Right, He dropped the gun on the table and grabbed a pair of medical pliers. Steady hands, He'd done this procedure several times before, Slowly, carefully remove the bullet. It made a plinking sound as he dropped it on the tray. Ignore the sounds of gunfire. Now to Apply a tourniquet, Alen is already setting up the blood transfusion and administering antibiotics. Jason turned to the table and grabbed a shot of morphine. This part wasn't normally part of the procedure; he needed the patient up and moving as quickly as possible. With that done he grabbed his glock and moved to the next patient.

    The call started an hour ago, reports of a drug overdose at the "End of the world" party. Then the shooting started, first rubber and Tear gas, then he heard the screaming. He'd called it in and set up triage in the parking lot. There was chaos, FEMA doctor's had moved in soon after. There was shouting as the former commander of the riot squad was arrested. Then there was a charge, Jason didn't know what happened, information beyond the parking lot was hard to get by. Five patients later a man ran into the tent, blood pooling around his mouth and a frenzied look in his eye.

    Next patient, Blunt force trauma and chemical burns. Jason recited the procedure for this. Just need to do things by the book, Keep moving, keep getting to the next person. Just another day at the office

    • I'm working on update, you know the drill, I say I'll have it posted tonight but really it will be like Monday probably.

    This update will introduce a new mechanic, Infection Rate, based on d100 dice rolls. Dice can be added or subtracted depending on in-game events or be affected by a multiplier.

    I'm also going to start adding events specific to characters based on roleplay if applicable. Also, I will start rolling against Valley City modifiers which means more Valley City specific events.
     
    QM Notes:

    The upcoming update will be much larger than the first few. Now that the infection has reached Valley City, player characters will be receiving events and checks.

    Globally the pandemic has passed the tipping point and news reports will dwindle in the ne t few turns.

    Voting periods will last longer, probably 4 to 6 days. Update still a work in progress.

    Hey, so I would like to apologize for the lack of activity. For those who were invested in this quest I thank you.

    However, I reached the conclusion that my original plan for the quest is unworkable. So I'm ending this quest. I want to revisit the zombie genre at some point with better mechanics and something more substantive in regard to the world itself.
