Another ghost throws its spear at you and it manages to penetrate your armor.

...Okay, that hurt. That really hurt. That was the first time that an enemy got through my armor and shields. Bullets couldn't get through. Mass effect slugs couldn't get through. Even missiles and shells can be resisted. But a thrown javelin can break through? Like it was paper? Unbelievable...

Fortunately, KG noticed the ghosts (there were more of them) and started devouring the one who attacked me...

Unfortunately, after taking a look at how the others were doing, I realized that for one reason or another, the ghosts kept getting back up, like zombies. Shooting them normally didn't have much effect. What should I do? If only someone had fire attacks...

...Maybe I could aim for the legs? They can't do much if they can't move, right?

To that effect, I had my drone and turret aim specifically for the legs of the approaching ghosts, while I took out the spear, being careful so that I won't bleed much or anything (Even Geth can bleed), applied some medi-gel to the wound, and commenced firing on their legs.

...The runtimes were very helpful in helping me maintain presence of mind...

Everything began turning white, and the combatants once again experience the same rushing feeling from earlier. Once their vision returned, they found themselves in the next arena. It appeared to be some kind of villa with a large building in the distance. All of the builldings seem to be falling apart, and the technology is decayed. The entire area was covered in some kind of red cloud. "Ghost People of the Sierra Madre seek out intrudersssss..." It seems painful to breathe for those who have to.

New arena... god, I was hoping we'd at least get a break first. Running like hell and letting everyone else do the fighting is exhausting work.

Well... this place seems nicer than the spooky-dark cave, at least.

Having a little difficulty catching my breath - it's like my lungs are burning. I must be more out of shape than I thought.

You see a figure wearing a black body suit and a gas mask, with glowing green eyes.

...Hey, it's a guy! Is that a newcomer? Maybe they're not hostile? I raise an arm to wave and call out to the new guy-

I then took aim, and went for a headshot...

-and the robot puts a bullet through him.

My eye twitches, slightly. For all he knew that was a friendly. Well... let's just hope he didn't have any friends-

-He had friends. Angry friends. I sigh. Hopefully they were already hostile and we didn't just tick off a potential ally. Or neutral. Oh, well. Now is fighty time...

One of my tentacles spears it mid flight, while two others lash out at the ghost things. My other three are occupied with keeping my modesty.

Hey, Tentacles is back on her feet! Wait, why's she only using three tentacles - oh. I go slightly red.

DON'TLOOKDON'TLOOKDON'TLOOKDON'TLOOK SHE CAN EAT YOU.

I make a point of averting my eyes. Really don't want to risk annoying someone who can tear off my arms and beat me with them.

The Cloud is damaging technology.

I break into a coughing fit. Okay, this... I shouldn't still be trying to catch my breath. There's sort of a reddish cloud around the place. Is there some kind of gas? Poison? It looks to be having an effect on even Legion and the Starman... not poison, then.

Something tells me that we need to figure this out, quickly. I hunker down to think. The others seem to have the Hazmat-Men well in hand.

The ones that seem to be dead are getting up again.

...or not. Good lord, that's... that's terrifying, and given the company I've been keeping recently that's saying something. I mean, it's one thing to see this sort of thing in a game or movie, but watching something take a shot to the head and then climb right back up again? In real life, that is scary.

Well, maybe it's just cause I'm a hobo. I wonder if burning the corpses would keep them down.

The ones getting back up soon have head sized chunks of ground thrown at their heads. Hard.

Their heads are crushed in to chunks of some kind of gray meat.

Huh. Wonder if they can get up from that. Also, there's the daily reminder that Tentacles is scary as fuck and I really shouldn't tick her off.

The ghost people still go down and get back up. You can't kill them. They are already dead.

...Oookay, starting to get a little worried. I light a Molotov and hope the weird red haze isn't flammable.

"Guys! They can't come back if we dispose of their legs!" I shouted.

...The hell kind of logic is that? I ain't heard o' nothing that need its legs to survive. Seriously, that-

"Physics! It doesn't matter if they're technically alive if they've no propulsion!" I said.

-okay that's actually valid. Criticism retracted. I cautiously step closer to one of the downed ones. It's already getting back up.

"Itsh time for Shience!" I shout, before ditching the Molotov at the Ghost Person and running like fuck.

Really hope that worked. That was my last Molotov.

Ypu end up running in to an alley with a thick layer of the cloud.

While continuing my assault on the ghosts, my runtimes checked the state of my armor and shields, and analysed what the red cloud is. They concluded that whatever the cloud is, it is damaging. It weakens armor, and reduces the power output of shields. No wonder the spear went through. Is there anywhere safe here?

"KG (@Muhkat Lomorki), bite their legs off! They can't move without their legs!"

You end up running in to an alley with a thick layer of the cloud.

Am I away from it? No Hazmat-men? I rest an arm against the wall and lean over, coughing and spluttering. This is bad. This... there's no way I'm this worn out yet. I'm pretty sure I'm hyped up on adrenaline right now. I should be powering through this! Why the hell can't I breathe?!

The Cloud is really strong in here. It's not just my lungs that are burning, its... well, everything. My eyes are watering.

I think this validates my theory about the haze being dangerous.

Of course, if I can't get out to warn everyone that's not going to help much. I stagger back towards the entrance of the alleyway, hacking and wheezing. I collapse to my hands and knees as I reach the entrance, gasping for breath. The Cloud is still here. Not as strong, but... it's still hard to breathe. I sort of half clamber, half stumble back towards the rest of the group, supporting myself on the wall.

I really hope I don't run into any of those god-damned Hazmat Men. I don't think I could get by them like I am now.

"...The Cloud...", I wheeze, just in case any of my teammates can hear me. "We have to... get out of the Cloud-" I choke on my words and raise my hands to my neck.

I really hope I don't choke to death here. That's... it's a bad way to go. I grimace and keep pushing my way back to the group.

My hearing was good enough to notice when Hobo wandered away from the group, leaving my offer of a weapon behind. It was only thirty seconds later I heard a faint wheeze, and a faint cry of "cloud".

It was hobo. And he was dying. I dropped the head I was carrying into the pile next to me, and flew towards the sound.

He was collapsed on the floor, hands around his neck trying desperately to breathe. I picked him up with two of my tentacles as you would a baby, and ran to the Gelatinous beast.

"Your spit helped heal me! So heal him!"

As I laid him on the ground for the dragon to heal, I smashed all of the heads in the pile into pulp. And then smashed the pulp some more. God Damn It.

One of the still moving ghost people threw an explosive gas canister at them.

"I have medi-gel. Will that help? ...What happened to the armor?"
"heal him!" I said, pointing at the hobo. "And last I knew you had the fucking amour, which has resulted in me walking around like this." I indicate my self, and the tentacles needed to keep my modesty. "Bliddy terrible day. And I'm still HUNGRY"

One of the still moving ghost people threw an explosive gas canister at them.
I stab the canister mid flight with my tentacles almost idly.

So the armor somehow disappeared. All my hard work... :(

Seeing the urgency of the situation, my summons continued to cover me as I approached the injured one, who was actually Hobo, choking, wheezing, and with irritated eyes and damaged skin, and applied medi-gel to him via omni-tool...

"...Is it just me, or does the Doctor look like he was at Bhopal?"

I honestly never thought I would end up fighting ghosts, much less tangible ones. Still, their spiritual energy registered to my senses, even if it wasn't quite Yōki as I knew it, and given they bled....well, they should die well enough.

A few moments later I learned a few things. My pseudo-precognition was working magnificently, allowing me to move through the attacking ghosts with ease and crush them with Ko-chan's mace-form.

A pity they kept reforming, they were rather dull opponents.

That I actually felt a sense of relief upon noticing the hobo's choking form was...honestly a bit shameful, but at least something interesting was happening.

One of the still moving ghost people threw an explosive gas canister at them.
Upon seeing the ghosts attempt at a surprise attack though...well, I couldn't let a challenge like that go unanswered.

So in the blink of an eye I crossed the distance between us and swung my mace at the creature's head with unnatural force. If the creature's torso was anywhere near intact I'd eat my shoes.

It doesn't explode.

The head is destroyed, and the momentum carries you slightly into a thick cloud.

" Hobo wandered off, started dying and now purple are trying to save his life. Now I'm thinking about it, it was, probably this cloud. We need to get rid of that... Activate Winter War."

"Yes,Rize"

"Winter War"I whispered as a snowy landscape littered with corpses with a raging blizzard blowing past me and a forest covered in snow in the distance appeared around our area.

'Well, that....can't be good.' I thought as, against all common sense, I made to open the briefcase.
There aren't any traps on the briefcase, but you do step on a beartrap that instantly closes on your left leg.

It activates, and nothing is moving.

After I finished applying medi-gel to the Doctor, which should help with his condition a bit at least, the snowy battlefield came back. I found myself surrounded by many nearby bodies of fallen soldiers, and for one reason or another, the ghosts looked paralyzed. My summons continued to cover me and fire upon their legs while I took the opportunity to salvage omni-gel material from said bodies via omni-tool, keeping alert for attacking ghosts...

I felt someone pick me up. Definitely not a Hazmat Man... did someone hear me? I look up, coughing and spluttering, and manage to make out Tentacles, racing back towards the group.

I attempt to chuckle, but it soon turns into another fit of wheezing coughs. Of course she has super hearing.
Despite everything, I can't help but be wryly amused.

She set me down on what I assumed was a rooftop, where Legion applied some kind of Space Medicine or something. It definitely soothed the outside of my body, but the insides... I got the feeling it was more a stopgap measure. Still, it was something. My breath leveled out into a sort of dry rasp and I managed to get my lungs operating again. It was... painful. My windpipe felt dry and raw and I got the feeling that this was only a temporary fix. Still, it had undoubtedly saved my life - for now at least - and I found that I could move again. I sat up and wiped my face, before turning to my rescuers.

...Ah. What... did you say to someone in a situation like this?

"...Shanksh, guysh." I said, quietly. I guess it's a start. Should probably warn them about the Cloud...

Wait, the snow and ice and forests or whatever have come back. Guess that means it's one of us that does it, rather than just some facet of the arena. That... might keep the Cloud at bay? Does it come with winds?

"Conshentrated Cloud... bad. Don't, uh... don' go in dere."

I sighed. Everything still felt worn out. I don't think I'd be doing much moving. Besides, that scorched-looking Hazmat Man down there implies my Molotov wasn't much good anyway. I doubt a broken bottle would be a significant improvement.

"...I shink I'll shtay up 'ere fer a bit", I say to Tentacles and Legion. "Get mah breath back again. Ah... shanksh, guysh. Really."

I sighed, somewhat dejected. I don't think a Hobo has much to offer in the way of gratitude.

Maybe they'll want a drink later. I still got my drinking bottle, after all.

...More bodies of fallen soldiers for me to salvage omni-gel material from, more slowed ghosts for my summons to shoot at.

KG is busy wreaking havoc at them. As for Hobo, he's taking a rest. We're doing our best to cover him, really...

...Maybe I should make a pistol or something for the Doctor when I have enough omni-gel...?

My tentacles start ripping into any ghosts furiously, even as I had a snack in the form of one of the frozen corpses. Once I had finished my less than satisfying snack, I hit KG(@Murkat Lomorki). Hard.
"Healing spit, if and you please."
