We don't have any evidence of her being treasonous. I was one of the first to push for Arrest, but if we don't have any evidence we'll make a powerful enemy and gain nothing. Let's think about it: our word against the heiress of House Arslan is not a match up we can win.

And it's an open secret that Arslan is angling to usurp the Imperial Throne. We're not bringing anything new to the table by accusing her of treason. If we had evidence, yes, this would be a bombshell. But we don't.

If we try to arrest her we'll need to fight her ships here and now and then the three battleships when they jump back. If the payoff was there I'd support it but it isn't.

It is a vote to throw ourselves under the patronage of the Imperial House or House Arslan. This is not a 21st century western democracy with the judicial system that comes with it.

Yes, but evidence matters, just as it did in the medieval era. It's one thing for all the players on the board to know what the deal is, but House Arslan has a certain level of plausible deniability. Hard evidence means that the Imperial House can wage war against the Arslani without violating the feudal compact.

If she ever makes it to them. I think it's much more likely that she mysteriously ends up dead while being transported. Then the Empress looks tyrannical, we are disgraced for jumping the gun and arresting a noble scion for "no apparent reason" and a confederation of noble houses might just demand massive concessions, including our head.

Or she could die while we're taking her captive. Either way we'd be fucked.

Short sighted and silly. She had officers and crew loyal to her, she likely has agents in our crew or people willing to spy on us for money, and finally we're not bloody alone in this system! We've probably got millions of people watching from the planet we're orbiting, let alone the rest of the system! We can hardly conceal that we're fighting when we're not alone.

Who knows with her? She's a noble and heir to a major house? And yeah, I know we could easily wipe them out, but then what happens after?

This is what I'm not understanding here from people demanding we have her surrender to us.

We have no legal right to arrest her as she isn't part of our command, and we have no evidence of her guilt. The only thing she's done is make a faux paus in attacking a ship attempting to surrender, and that isn't a crime. So what are we going to do once we capture or kill her? Our word means nothing against a noble, we're just a commoner, a very successful commoner, but that in itself is a threat to the nobles.

So again, people who are voting to force her surrender, where are you going with this and how are you going to do it without getting our character in disgrace?

Surrender & infrastructure does not go well with demanding more. She's paying us to side with her. Part of that is going along with her plan to start a war. That is simultaneously asking for more and giving her less. I don't think reinhard has the diplomacy to pull it off.

And this way, she still can't get rid of us without losing 5 shares. We also get the command position we need to mold a powerful force in our image.
