We have finally managed to recover all three Synomium devices. The device itself emits detectable tachyon frequencies, however we believe this is only a byproduct of its intention. Inside the device is an as of yet never before discovered element, Synomium. It uses the unique properties of Synomium to amplify psionic waves exponentially.

Theoretically, if all three were assembled, a sufficiently powerful psionic could use them to blanket the entire planet in a psi-net. This would be disastrous in the wrong hands. Its origins remained a mystery to us until we discovered a separate artifact at the site of the Synomium Device. We are not the first earthlings to face these aliens. My research team managed to decrypt and translate a data archive stored with the Synomium device. Though the translation is crude, it may take decades to fully understand the nuances of this ancient tongue, we believe we have a rough translation.

Millions of years ago, the cataclysmic event that ended the age of reptile rule was caused by the Aquatoids. The Aquatoids served a dark god referred to as the Dreamer, who promised to save them from enslavement from another race in exchange for their worship and service. We believe this other race to be the Ethereals of the 2015 Invasion. They constructed an entire city to house the Dreamer, capable of traveling through the cosmos for a suitable planet to colonize. That is when they came across earth.

It was the Gill Men that fought back, waging valiant war despite being a pre-industrial primitive society. Using the Synomium Devices, the Dreamer made them turn on each other, but a small group managed to obtain them and seal them away. With the Synomium Devices gone, the Dreamer began to fall into a deep rejuvenative sleep while the Aquatoids stowed away in cryogenic pods. The Gill Men who did not swear loyalty to the Dreamer simply went extinct. Millions of years later, we emerged.

If the warnings are anything to go by, there is no hope of us winning the war through conventional means. The Aquatoids could easily defeat humanity in a war of attrition, as they did with the Gill Men. We must strike T'leth, the aliens' city, located at the bottom of the Sigsbee Deep.

There are still several things we need to do before we can attempt an invasion of T'leth.
We lack a craft capable of not only surviving the depths of the ocean, but carrying troops there. The engineering department has designs ready for such craft.

We have zero intel of what is in the city of T'leth, though we might have a lead. Roscoe Ulysses Sirius, aka Markus Reis, claims to be in psionic contact with the Dreamer as well. Capturing him will give up critical intelligence on the alien city.

Finally, from what we can gather, T'leth appears to be impenetrable, impervious to any weapon. The only way we can get inside, is if they let us. Give us time, Commander, and we will think of something, because we must.

Hmm, all right. So I'm thinking Warphaser weapons, and get started on Project Leviathan (funded by selling alien bodies and guns). Send the Lamprey after one USO, Charlie after the second (gotta get them up to MCPO). A competing demand for money is building more Lampreys so we can get better global defense coverage.

Do we know the USO sizes?
 
I think doing autopsies on the Triscene, and maybe the other terror critters, might be a good idea.

Once the autopsy is done, we can get critical hits on them, which is huge for dealing with creatures that are giant sacks of hit points. It shaves 2-3 shooting actions off killing them, at the minimum.
 
We should do the Interrogation actions. Our people are getting good at psionics, and it's one of the few avenues left for us to get a good edge at.

Here we go. So this plan cleans out our freezer a little bit, leaving us with just un-autopsied/un-interrogated corpses/live aliens, as well as selling a pair of sonic guns. This is used to fund manufacture of another Lamprey with the good gun, as well as the prototyping of Project LEVIATHAN; the latter will take forever, so we may as well get started on it now. (edit: I kept a running total of "resources left" as best I could, hopefully I got it right).

Research-wise, our biggest bang for the buck is going to be these new Warphaser weapons, which we'll definitely want when we go knock on the Dreamer's door. We really need to hire more researchers, lol.

The reason to manufacture and deploy another Lamprey is so that we can deploy it to an area where our support is flagging (I arbitrarily picked between the Arctic and the Sea of Japan); giving us a greater chance of not losing support when the aliens multi-prong us next time.

For USO activity, we blow away the one that we can, and deploy Charlie Squad to the other one, with the idea that we want them to get to MCPO level.
