[X] Ask for the cute agent's number- you're willing to use her as a point of contact since she seems more likely to be upfront and honest thus far.

Yeah, let's get off the streets for awhile. We've got some money and the streets do not seem that safe anymore.
I really want to go join Farrah and
her mom, but it seems too likely we'll lead Tempest et al to them

Yeah, that works. Kinda combines the two things and gets us through 'til morning. In the morning we're still talking to deeply suspicious teacher lady, right?

This is... not great, all things considered. You frown at Red. He's -- well, he's straight-out told you that they're not going to stop. This doesn't sound really great; to be honest, it sounds like shit.
"So, I have to join a faction to get you off my back, hunh?" He doesn't answer, but that's fine, that's not actually your question. "I'm thinking about the Mara. Any opinions on them?"
You're pretty sure he shits a brick.
His face puckers up and he looks like he's going to have a heart attack. You didn't want to kill him -- on the other hand, he is the one that shot you in the face. "I. Ah. Excuse me? Ah."
"That doesn't count as an answer, you tell him, even though Mara makes Team Tempest Shit Bricks is a pretty good answer. "So - how about you give me Carter's phone number? I'll use her as a point of contact. She's a lot less annoying, she doesn't shoot me as much, and she's been more or less honest with me. Also, she doesn't stalk me."
He huffs and looks put out. "You threatened to drop her from the top of the Xerox Tower."
"It was not nearly that high up," you protest. "Anyway, if you're feeling left out, I can totally take you fifty or so feet up in the air and threaten you, although I don't think your pants will fit me right."
He seems like he's run out of facial expressions and distress and is now just dyspeptic and tired. "All right." He scribbles down a number on a napkin. "Here's Carter's number. My turn?"
"Nah, I'm done." You pocket the number. "Thanks. I'm sure I'll be seeing you around. I mean, I'll be totally fine, not heartbroken at all, if I don't -- but I bet I will. Cheers."
You leave him looking tired, wave at Jaylenon your way out -- but out of line-of-sight of Red, because Red's people were pretty shitty to Jaylen, too -- and do a little zigging and zagging before you launch yourself in the air.
You wish you had a way to be actually invisible. There has to be something. If only Dodger wasn't such a jerk. Maybe he'd be able to tell you, but no. No, he doesn't like you thinking about tips and he doesn't like anything else you do either. He's like your parents, only -- well, he doesn't have any real authority over you, thank god.
You do a lot of dipping and diving on your flight, and by the time you're done, you think you've lost any tails. There's a decently cheap hotel that isn't the creepy horribly cheap place the DSS puts up the homeless in sometimes. You have enough to afford it and, this way, if you didn't lose your tail, you won't be leading them back to anyone important, like Farrah, or to your hide-out.
You call Farrah, check in with her -- she's fine, she's sad you're not there, and she's worried about you -- and chat while you stretch everything out. You shower. Shower! And then you sleep.
You sleep for about four hours and wake up more awake than you want to be. You walk around the motel parking lot a few dozen times -- there's nobody there, or if they are there, they ought to teach you invisibility -- and manage to get yourself back to sleep to some late-night crime procedural shows, before sleeping four more hours.
Once awake, you call Ms. Riga. Where are you going to suggest meeting her?

Ms. Riga is more than willing to let you set the location and time, and you show up to MLK Park ten minutes before you agreed to meet her.
You settle down on the base of the statue of MLK and wait for her to walk up — and then you practically don't recognize her — her? — when she does. She's wearing casual pants and a silk shirt and looks so androgynous — her ice-blonde hair coiffed to within an inch of its life —- that you wonder about everything you assumed about her.
Them.
Their smile is stunning. You almost fall off of your perch. You think they might be an angel.
"Rhi, is it? Thank you for meeting with me. I see you've picked up Masking, well done. Have you found a teacher?"
You smile at them. Everyone wants you to find a teacher. You'd like to find one who wasn't an asshole or a stalker.
"I've gotten taught a few things here and there," you hedge. "If that what you wanted to talk about?"
They sit down on the edge of the statue, close enough that you two can talk without being overheard but not so close that you feel crowded. Clearly but quietly, they say "Tempero Kwxe delta διακοπή ήχου."
You don't notice anything different, but you've tensed.
"Now, unless you shout or I do, we won't be overheard. While the existence of fae isn't exactly a secret lately, it's still good form not to go shouting around about it all."
Good form. You're a little worried about that — it kind of sounds like your dad — but you smile anyway. "Like flapping my wings around for tips?" you ask.
"Back in May, I would have said yes. But now, with the world being in its current state of flux I'd say that's a lovely idea for bringing in a little extra money for yourself and the cafe. The lines have been out the door, haven't they?"
"Yeah." You smile. You've been pulling in a lot better money than just dishwashing, that's for sure.
"Then well done. So." They steeple their fingers. "I would like to offer my services as your teacher. From your current status, I'm going to guess that you are no longer in the care of your mother?"
You nearly leave right then, just pop into the air and leave - the city, the state, the freaking country. Maybe you won't get stalked in the Northwest Territories. Can you fly there?
"No." You bite the words like that might make you feel better. "No, I'm not in the care of my mother."
"Then I will assume by Fae law, since you have taken care of your own roof, your own bread, your own salt, and your own name, that you are free to negotiate for yourself."
This has the sound of a ritual. You just nod, afraid to say anything yet.
"Would you like me to be your Mentor, Rhi, and to teach you in all the ways of the fae?"
[ ] Yes, please
[ ] No, thank you
[ ] No to the first but Yes to the second.

This could be worse - she may not have explained it to us yet, but she isn't trying to hide that this is a Significant Thing or get us to agree without meaning to.
So... Yeah. Get information, don't commit yet, but don't blow her off entirely.

I'm of a different opinion, ooc. I think she's super evil and she's going to eat us.
That said, ic, Rhi is just going off gut instinct and native suspicion, and Riga's actually playing the most straight of nearly anyone we've spoken with. They've been polite, nonviolent, and direct.
Might be worth the risk of them eating us, overall, not to have to deal with Dodger or Jayden or Tempest....
Alternatively, there's our hypothetical Mara friend, who I'm sure is super nice. >.>

Frankly we're unsure and thanks to that Dodger guy, rather suspicious of everyone and everything...
More to the point, something I've noticed:
She's the only one approving of us revealing ourselves to the world the way we've done.
Dodger thought we were stupid doing that even for tips.
The Government dislikes us showing ourselves and breaking the masquerade.
And Jayden is the guy who taught us to Mask in the first place, and seemed like he was generally in favor of us staying hidden, though I think we'd need to follow up with him on that one.
Ms. Riga, thusly, I presume to belong to The Gods Returned, and thinks she's found herself a new minor Goddess to add to the Pantheon. I don't think she's the Mara Dodger has called in though, nor do I think she's in with Jayden's faction.
