Wolfenstein: The New Flesh [Fallout 4/Wolfenstein: TNO]

[X] Rise up and shoot whatever it is that's out there.
The fact that the sneaky/careful approach worked at all is sheer dumb luck, nothing else. We are not made for sneaking - we are made for thinking, and for killing, and whatever is walking around here shouldn't be making these noises if it were from the Institute.

If it's not from the Institute, it's inside the Institute and as such must be terminated with extreme prejudice.

Also, it may have come through the door. Which should not be there, nor open.

[X] Rise up and shoot whatever it is that's out there.

Without hesitation, you spring up from behind the overturned desk and raise your laser rifle to your shoulder —in the corner of your eye you spot the obsidian black silhouette of X6 doing the same. Within a heartbeat of each other the two of you fire and with a matching pair of high-pitched, whining bangs your rifles send two painfully bright bolts of blue-white light stabbing in towards the doorway. An instant later your eyes are flooded with tears from the glare and with a hiss of pain you wipe them from your eyes as a wave of blue and black sunspots burst into being in your vision. Half blinded you fire again and again, and from somewhere nearby you can hear X6 do the same.

With a suddenness that's almost startling, you hear the thing howl. It's an awful, deafening sound more like a rusted door slowly closing than anything a human throat could produce. On and on it goes, the noise mingling with its own echoes to produce a din that assaults your ears like nails on a chalkboard. Blinking rapidly to clear your eyes you throw laser bolt after laser bolt at the steadily clearing image of the creature —its form silhouetted by showers of glowing yellow embers— and with a sharp intake of breath you pause for a moment to take it in.

It's tall, taller even than X6. It stands hunched in the doorway like a doll in a too small dollhouse; the top of its head scraping against the ceiling. Unlike the earlier synth, this one stands on two, stick-like legs almost as long as you are tall. Held close by its chest are its arms, each twice as long as they should be and with a second set of elbows located further down and rotated 180 degrees from the first. At the end of the thing's bizarre arms are a set of long fingers that resemble half-melted wax sculptures infested with tumorous lumps and tipped with wickedly sharp claws.

With a brief trill, the creature takes advantage of your momentary pause to lunge forwards, it's legs uncoiling like springs and its arms unfolding like mantis claws. Startled, you hammer the trigger of your rifle.

No longer blinded your shots strike true and plunge into the creature chest and arms with miniature thunderclaps and sprays of sparks. Beside you you see X6 fire blast after blast at the rogue synth, though by error or just plain luck the majority of his shots miss. Still howling, the synth approaches and with a sudden burst of speed, it swings its claws at your head.

Thinking fast, you duck below the creature's swing and back behind the desk. With a screech of metal-on-metal, the synth's claws scrape against the edge of the desk before slamming into a nearby emergency light and smashing it to pieces.

Chapter 1-8
With a grunt of effort, you twist away from the creature and hurl yourself as far from its wicked sharp claws as possible with the speed of a high-tension spring uncoiling. An instant later you slam onto your stomach —your back exposed to the open air— and from behind you, you hear the creature emit of warble of frustration. As you quickly raise yourself to your feet a series of dry clacks and the sound of metal scraping against metal ring out from behind you. Turning back around, you see the Synth attempting to clamber over the upturned desk —its too long arms and legs banging and scraping against the side of the desk as its head brushes the ceiling.

Your heart hammering in your chest like a jackhammer you raise your rifle to your shoulder —arms shaking from the adrenaline— and squeeze the trigger.

With another blindingly bright burst of light, your laser rifle screams and three more beams of blue-white light spear the mutant synth in its right arm. With a shower of sparks and a loud bang the arm falls twitching to the ground as it's sheared off at the shoulder. Screeching, the synth lunges forwards in a manic burst of speed. The mutant robot clambering over the desk and its own flailing arm with the speed of a viper.

Before you can fire again, something man-sized and black hurtles out of the gloom near the synth and slams into its chest with an audible crack. Howling, the synth slams to the ground and the black mass resolves itself into the form of X6 as the two of them sprawl under the light cone of an emergency light —the slender synth pinned beneath X6's bulk. Acting quickly, X6 slams his right arm out to the side and grasps his opponent's remaining arm below the first elbow in a vice-like grip so tight you can see the skin begin to split beneath his grip. As the creature howls once more, X6 draws his left hand backwards before slamming it into the synth's chest with a meaty thwack that takes your breath away just to hear.

With a strangled growl, the mutant synth slams its remaining claw down onto X6's exposed back —his grip unable to stop its double-jointed arms— and the knife-like claws plunge deep into his shoulder. An instant later blood sprays from the wound as the monstrous synth drags its claws across his back, and with a howl of his own X6 releases its arm. Warbling victoriously the monster pulls its claws from his back and prepares to attack again.

But once again X6 strikes first. With a burst of movement that sends his right arm flashing out laser-quick, X6 grabs the synth's slender arm once more; this time grasping it above the elbow. Before the monster can repeat its attack X6 moves in a way you can't quite follow. Between one breath and the next, X6's arms are suddenly wrapped around the creature's own, and with a grunt of effort he flexes.

With a sound like wood splintering, the synth's arm disintegrates into a mass of splintered metal and shredded skin. Shrieking, the synth bucks and writhes in electronic pain as X6 releases his grip and lunges, hands outstretched, towards the synth's head.

With a throaty roar, X6 grabs the shrieking synth by the head and slams its skull into the metal floor. Again and again, he does this, lifting the synth's head into the air before slamming it into the ground with a sound like a sledgehammer on concrete. Slowly the floor beneath the synth's head begins to dent from the force.
After what feels like minutes of repetition, he finally stops and lets go of the synth's skull. With a final smack, the synth's head strikes the ground and lies still. As you watch X6 rise to his feet you see fake blood begin to ooze, tar-like, from beneath the synth's head and fill the groove in the floor.
"Are you alright, director?" Asks X6, his head tilted to the side.

We aren't biomed-techs - we are a master materials scientist and engineer. WE will learn, in time, but that time is not now. Ascertain that X-6 is still combat-capable, then advance even if he is combat-impaired.
