Lex Luthor trying to come to grasp with a fundamental part of his personality which is in turn influencing his analysis of said part, which he in turn is aware of...

Incredibely interesting.

Ad to that an AIs ability to literally rewrite itself and you get why AI alignment is so difficult. If not impossible.

Would it be in character for her to simply pounce on Grayven while he's in the middle of something - or just finished something - and whisk him away?
I'd really like to see her interact with Lynn a bit as well. If only for the hilarity of the Stepmom-In-Training Blackfire scenes. I honestly don't know if her fumbling through them or having a better grasp of dealing with Lynn due to her own parental issues would be more satisfying.

Well, this is one of my favourite chapters in a long time. Honestly, Batman and Lex should just start up a therapy group for the brilliant and insane who manage to keep out of prison.

Funny thing is, Wayne also researches ways to kill any one of his confederates.
Mind, he tends to be well aware he's cracked, tends to go for the more non-lethal approaches, and is generally more concerned about the possibility of mind control or something similar, which is a genuine issue.

Also, this universes Batman is definitely on the better side of things socially.

The funny thing about the Lex/Superman thing is that the animated series at least tended to show Superman as more paranoid about Lex than vice versa. I mean, he was right, but that doesn't make him not paranoid...

And now I want to see the Bruce/Lex team-up to take down Superman. Surely that's been done?

Lex's paranoia vs Lex's sheer brutal intelligence and will. Cage match, with his skull as the cage. Lex won't let himself be beaten by any opponent, including himself.

Lex should just give in, implant some kind of tiny bleed generator in his chest, and build a red and gold suit of powered armour. He can fly around blasting Paranoid out of the suit speakers until it's out of his system.

This is good character development.

It kinda bums me out that it's Renegade that got Lex to consider it, especially in the face of all the work OL put towards it.

The SI got close. Unfortunately, he gave up one prod too early.
Oh, I understand that. What's "bothering" me (and it's not really a bother, I just can't think of a better word) is the fact that OL's came from a place that should probably appeal to Lex more, but a relatively offhand comment is what gets Lex when Grayven does it. Grayven has had a lot more ups and downs with Lex, but OL had a -lot- of ups, and it just never clicked.

Then again...the paranoia would explain that :p

That's what it was. The SI passed his persuade check, Lex was about to agree and discuss how to make it happen... Then it occurred to him that he was talking to someone who could manipulate desires at will.

The Renegade had more success because he and Truggs weren't trying to persuade Lex of anything.

Either that, or it was the Legend of Korra speech.

Those long rambling speeches where he compares stuff to fictional settings his audience has never heard of.

Wait, wait wait!!

Do you mean this:
meant that he thought that Paul mind-controled him!!!:o

I completely misunderstood that!! I thought you meant that he heard Paul's point, understood that the Light are idiots and thought one of the Light might have messed with his mind!!!

... Completely misinterpreted the first part::p

Ever played Morrowind?

There was an NPC called Orvas Dren, and he had a rather interesting response to a particular persuasion option. You see, the game let yo uimprove people's disposition to you by complementing them, bribing them or intimindating them. The first required a speechcraft check, the second a merchantile check the ease of which was determined by how much you were paying them and the third an easier speechcraft check but they liked you less later. Orvas Dren wasn't that hard to complement and he was an expensive bribe but if you successfully intimindated him, he shouted "No one intimidates me!" and went for you with his sword.
