Protagonist: Indie Siegal, 17 years old, about to be a freshman at Beacon.
You're stunned by the view. Even after you've learned what to expect, it's still impressive. You can't make out any familiar people from up this high, all you see is people-colored ants. It's... incredible.
OH WOW, THIS VIEW IS AMAZING!, comes the mental screech from the honey-blonde girl near you. She's had that smile on her face for... almost the entire trip. How can she smile for that long?
I wonder if I can see home from here? she thinks, unaware that someone's (only semi-voluntarily) peering into her thoughts.
You're starting to think you should ask her to move away so that you don't have to listen to her inner monologue of excitedness. ...Is excitedness a word?
Before you can, the news channel on nearby-talking about something to with the White Fang, you think?- cuts out, and is replaced by a professional-looking woman.
"Hello, and welcome to Beacon!" she says.
I feel like I recognize her... From where?
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch." You think you recognize that name yourself. Maybe one of Mom's Huntsman friends brought her up once?
"You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." The hologram of Goodwitch disappears, and, a minute later, is replaced with a cereal commercial.
You can hear people start rushing to the windows, and that's... your cue to leave. You back up as fast as you can, attempting to get to the place farthest away from other students. You're not up for hearing any more screechy thoughts right now.
You find a relatively unnoticed corner and situate yourself there. You still have a good view of outside the Airship, right now you've started passing over sea.
It's peaceful. You like it.
"Hey, why'd you leave?" Oh no. It's the girl again. She's looking at you with her amber eyes, acting like she's curious. She probably is.

So, Indie here has a Semblance which allows her to hear the thoughts of everyone 3 feet or less from her. She's also grown kinda cynical from that semblance both alienating her and showing her that people in general are dishonest and cruel at their worsts. ...Have fun, SV!
