Warcraft: Beneath the Waves

Apologies for the long period of inactivity, as you can see there wasn't much new actually written, but even this took me two days of effort (most of which was simply re-familiarizing myself with everything), fortunately I seem to be over whatever mental block was stopping my progress.

(Oh yeah, and we have threadmarks now)

IT LIIIIVES! Now, here's my plan for this turn.

Military-1
[X] Putting Lobster on the Menu
This could improve our food supply, and definitely improves morale.

Stewardship-2
[X] Magic is the Key?
[X] Working the Ice
The first improves our palace and give our people experience in building underwater, while the second makes it easier to enslave the Kraken to our will.

Learning-2
[X] Cooking
[X] Murloc "Language"
The former might be able to improve morale, while the second lets us understand what the hell our slaves are saying.

Personal-1
[X] Lead by Example - Kelp Cultivation
This will allow us to expand our fish farms, and our food supply much easier.

Piety-1
[X] Growing the Priesthood
More priests of Elune means less Old God cults.

Diplomacy-1
[X] Improving Morale
We should leave the Murloc Diplomacy actions alone until after we understand their language.

Oh hey, I remember this. I'll have to reread everything before voting, but from what I remember any choice with small text and/or non-default colors is a trap from the Old Gods.

Good to see this back again.

Military
Putting Lobster on the Menu:

Morale is low. Also luxury food. The Naga used to be highborne after all...

Stewardship
Working the Ice:
Expanding the Fish Farms:

I dislike the idea of having the lurker escape and we need food...

Learning:
Sharpening the Senses:
Murloc "Language":

Need our slaves to understand us before we integrate them, understanding them would be a boon but is not required.

Personal:
Lead by Example:
-Elune Help Us:

Piety:
Growing the Priesthood:

Public plea to Elune has personal touch all over it, expand the priesthood is also needed at some point...

Diplomacy:
Improving Morale:

Before we integrate the Murlocs, see if anything unlocks from Murloc "language". Also? Morale is low.

Wasn't that just an assumption on our part? If I recall correctly, we never tried any of them...
I remember the fish spies was one of them, that led to Temporary(?) Insanity in the Naga doing it. (The final roll was terrible, so that might be part of it)
EDIT: Vote reposted in condensed form later on.

Well, the fish farms worked fine, but the fish spies was awful and seems to have fully corrupted our former spy mistress. I'd rather not chance it while we have other options.

This turn had no Naga born?

Military

Explore the ruins
Could be useful, but mostly I want to wait on the Janissaries until we can speak with them, and scouting until we're militarily secure.

Stewardship

Pushing back the darkness
It'd probably be a lot easier to keep track of the subverting Naga skulking about if we could see a damn thing.

Kelp Cultivation
Our food supply is terrible. We need backups in case something goes wrong with the farms, and it feeds nicely into expanding them.

Learning

Cooking
This might help our people keep a hold on their civilization, and thus minds. A long shot, but anything to thwart the Old Gods.

Murloc "Language"
This opens up too many options to ignore.

Personal
I kind of want to just kill the Kraken.

Petition the Moon
We can't spare the piety action for this. I'm guessing Elune Help Us is for the Naga as a whole too, but... /shrug. I don't know where the difference lies.

Piety

Growing the Priesthood
The theory here is that more Elune worship = less Old God worship. I'll not let them corrupt us without fighting for all we're worth.

Diplomacy

Improving Morale
The other options should wait until we learn their language.

Lead by Example: Allocate some of your effort to personally start, oversee and complete a project. Gain a extra action, must dedicate a personal action for the entirety of the action's time, action receives a +5 bonus on rolls.
Personal:
Lead by Example:
-Elune Help Us:

Might be worth considering?

It would enable us to do Elune Help Us while expanding the priesthood.

Could, but I don't know what the difference between Petition the Moon and Elune Help Us is, and I've already voted on the survey.
Mostly this bit I think:
And you know in your bones the more public and clear the request, the more you are forced to shame yourself, bowing before another, the greater your sincerity, the better the results will be.

Which would conflict with this:
Vain: Amazingly so. To the point that she sees herself as a god.

Basically, one is a personal prayer and the other is publicly prostrating oneself. It's probably safe to say that Elune Help Us has a lower chance of us bringing ourselves to actually do it(and be sincere) but a stronger effect...

It would make it harder for us to place ourselves above Elune in the near future too(and we'd be admitting that there are thing we can't handle, which might shake public belief in our invincibility)...

Oh hey neat, Naga quest.

*reads* And you went crawling to Elune like little bitches because of a few whispers??? Hell, the frigging spider people managed to pull themselves out of full on Elder God worship by their entire kingdom.

Military:
[x] Putting Lobster back on the menu

Morale is important to keep up. Especially when in mental battles.

Stewardship:

[x] Pushing back the darkness

Again, that morale

[x] Working the ice

Kraken escaping would severely undermine us

Learning:

[x] Automatons

So damn useful.

[x] Demon Summoning

Hubby! And potential to give the finger to the elder gods a different way

Personal:

[x] Taming a kraken

Bending things to will means experience with will! Flex those mental muscles.

And they fled the Old Kingdom for a reason. Sealing it off as best as they could and forbidding anybody access in fear of having people subverted and undoing the protections.

We are still fairly close to the Old Ones' zone of control and nave neither the populace nor population growth to sustain violent purges.

Also, food is at a deficit, with our people near starvation. A tad more important to fix than improving morale even further through illumination in my opinion...

Better morale means they work harder, means more failures are acceptable.

And if we really need to we can kill off the murlocs once they're done making our palace, in favor of future golems, then we'd have a lot more food.

EDIT: And lurking in the dark always might not be the best for psyche and resisting old one influence..

Empty stomach vs full belly. It's usually one of the bigger factors that increase one's capabilities towards working hard, being in a good mood(high morale), being able to focus(less failures), recovering from wounds and being in the mood to procreate.

And if we really need to we can kill off the murlocs once they're done making our palace, in favor of future golems, then we'd have a lot more food.

Eh, while golems will be useful an indoctrinated Murloc slave population is fairly low-maintenance and replenish losses fairly easily.

EDIT: And lurking in the dark always might not be the best for psyche and resisting old one influence..

A physiological need like food is more important than safety according to Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

They also have both their venerated queen god empress and (hopefully) Elune to watch over them. Morale dropped due to the Lurker in the Dark so Ice and/or Taming should really help reassure our people.

Though to be safe, I'm taking two other morale options(Lobsters and the diplo option) myself.

Reworked my post with reasons and so it isn't as bulky.

Military:
[X]Putting Lobster on the Menu:

Stewardship
[X] Elemental Slavery:
Having a Workforce that can work tirelessly /Army that does the same is a good idea.
[X] Working the Ice:
Got to get that Kraken as a pet soon. Not now, soon.

Magic is the key is a good one, just that text makes me think It will help the Corrupted DreamGuards build something we would rather they didn't.

Learning
[X] Automatons:
Extends the Elemental Workforce/Army.
[X] Sharpening the Senses: 60%

Intrigue:
[Locked In]

Personal:
The Personal Touch: You suppose even the best of your underlings will sometimes flounder if you do not give them a helping hand. Personally oversee one of your projects this turn, giving it a +20 bonus.
-[X] Elemental Slavery:
Getting that 60% to an 80% is a good idea. I was considering Sharpening the Senses, but having rogue Elementals is worse than failing to improve senses.

Piety:
[X] Growing the Priesthood:
Elune Help Us should be more effective after the priesthood is bigger.

Diplomacy:
[X] Improving Morale:
Only good Option.

[X]Putting Lobster on the Menu

[X]Expanding the Fish Farms

[X]Murloc "Language"

[X]Sharpening the Senses

[X]Lead by Example: Working the Ice

[X]Improving Morale

Deal with the food issue first, then after that move on to other matters.
