[X] had to move forward and protect her against the monster, he wouldn't be able to face himself if he ran away. His heart began to beat with the courage of a thousand suns!
"You'll go no farther, foul beast!" The young man exclaimed as he stood in front of Shanoa. Jonathan's legs trembled, the floor felt like it wouldn't stop moving, but he calmed his breathing even as his heart wanted to burst through his chest.
Jonathan Joestar no longer wanted to be a coward!
The werewolf laughed as he towered over the boy, a single sharp claw poked at him. "What do you plan to do human? Barely out of your mother's loins and you think you can defy me? The mighty DMX!?" His massive snout reached down to the young Joestar, he had never met such a foolish human. "What could you possibly do, boy?"
Jojo thought about the things he already lost to Dio. Ever since that boy showed up everything just seemed to get worse and worse. Even his father seemed to be disappointed in Jonathan day by day.
More importantly, he was disappointed in himself.
Jonathan knew it was unsightly to run away from problems, but he was just a boy! What could he possibly-No, he wished to be a
gentleman! One that helped those in need, a dandy example for others to follow! He wanted to be a gentleman greater than those that came before him
The young man knew he would never accomplish this if he continued to run, the fear embedded within him gave way to shame. His shame morphed into the one thing he needed all this time.
Determination!
An intense heat burned inside of the boy, he clenched his fist and breathed deeply. With a mighty yell he released the breath held within him as it burned to be released.
Sunlight Yellow Thrust!
"Die monster! You don't belong in this world!"
His fist crashed into the side of the werewolf with the intensity of the sun! Sparks and crackles followed the boys battle cry, DMX fell backwards from the shock to his system. Jojo grinned, he wasn't helpless, he wasn't weak! He could fight back against this creature of the night!
The howl of pain was short lived as Jonathan found himself backhanded away from the werewolf. Sparks lit behind the massive claw that held DMX's face.
Jonathan suddenly stopped, finding himself in the arms of the woman he tried to protect.
"That was foolish of you, even the lowest of Werewolves hold the power of ten men." Shanoa informed him as he was set down. "Listen to me if you wish to survive. I'm not at my best at the moment." The young man knew that was true from the sweat that rolled down her face. "I'll keep you out of harm's way as I am able to. He favors his left side, dodge to his right, you won't have enough time to properly react to his speed."
"A-alright." the boy nodded, he was out of his depth but this woman seemed to know more than enough about the creature they were facing.
"You!" The monster growled in fury as his vision in the eye the boy struck faded. His left arm twitched with every speck of light that continued to ignite.
"What the hell are you boy? A mage? Leftover scraps of those alchemists?" Instantly he stood over the boy as Jonathan tried to guard. The ground shook as the werewolf stomped the boy to the ground. "It matters little. Scream me a symphony as I end your life!" The sparks faded and the smoke from his eye trailed into the moonlight. He pulled his arm back, ready to finish Jonathan.
Chains twisted around the monsters arm, his action halted. His forearm bulged against the resistance, Shanoa restraining him from hurting the boy. An easy pull sent Shanoa sailing towards him, his opposing claw blurred into view, ready to bisect the hunter. She easily slipped by the attack, the chain suddenly wrapped around his form.
A mighty snarl, teeth clamped onto DMX who continued to struggle against the chains, dragging his attention to the great Dane that attached against him. With a twist Danny forced the Wolf's head into the ground with an overwhelming amount of force!
Dogs were bred for centuries to help mankind in all facets of life! There was no better title than man's best friend for the animal. For ages there were particular breeds favored for hunting creatures of the night.
One of them was The Great Dane!
"Danny! Come back!" Jonathan shouted, his faithful companion heeded his call returning to his master.
Jonathan Joestar did not rid himself of his fear, but he flooded his fear with courage!
DMX's eye widened as the boy raised his fist into a boxing stance, his dog ready to pounce near him. "This human!?" He growled at the impossible. A yellow aura rising from the boy and his dog. "What just changed!?" The werewolf was becoming aggravated, this human was making a mockery of him!
DMX stepped away from the boy with intense speed, a mass of spears sank into the ground he once stood. The werewolf seemed to grin as he laughed at Shanoa. "I must thank this boy, I had grown arrogant in my power." The creature's right hand cracked as he clenched it. His chest bulged and veins expanded across his mighty form. The chains exploded with a gust of wind. "Come then, let's savor this slaughter together, my master." A rune ignited the air as a spear shot towards the monster's chest. It was easily caught and sent back towards it's user. The vampire hunter slipped to the side with a red dagger, DMX held his arm up, though it cleaved through his skin the wound instantly healed while his massive claw gripped the woman's head.
There was nothing wrong with his regenerative powers! DMX's theory was right, something about that boy was odd. He held power that scorched his very soul. It brought relief to his raging mind.
DMX wasn't weak! He was strong! He would be the one that would free Lord Dracula! It would be by his hand that his master would walk the earth yet again!
"You're injured, weak, slow, and sloppy. Can you even stand up properly?" He began to squeeze, he would end it now. "Facing me as you are was a fool's choice. You can't possibly win, give into your fear and die already."
With angry snarl, Danny charged high into the air, clamping down with his teeth against the werewolf's scarred eye again. "Damn you!" DMX's tried to grab the attacking dog, but Danny held true and avoided the massive claw.
"Get away from her vile creature!" Jonathan ran straight into the monster's side with the discarded spear. Red mixed with gold, the energy blazed as the boy charged with a mighty roar.
"Damn you!" His claw gripped into a fist and hammered down onto the boy. Jonathan almost lost consciousness from the blow to his head, but held on and sank the spear deeper into his foe. Another strike lashed into the boy and he staggered. "Tenacious like a cockroach." He muttered as the boy slammed against the grass without a sound. "Twice now I've been injured by a mere child." He growled, the back of his fist hit Danny away from him. "I'll make sure you suffer harshly boy-" he stopped as he turned to Shanoa still in his grasp. "What!?" He screamed as she raised her hand and shattered a blue bottle between her and DMX's arm.
Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain.
The pain burned his very soul!
DMX roared as he backed away from the woman, his arm emblazed in blue flames, the effects of holy water on a creature of the night. He continued to scream in agony and without a second thought the werewolf quickly sliced his arm off. The appendage fell to the ground, lighting the area with a blue blaze, and burned to ash.
"Be grateful I'm weak, monster." Shanoa exhaled her breath visible and cold, her eyes red as the moon overhead. Chains snaked around the werewolf, they dug into his flesh. "Leave us, or face you end right here."
DMX laughed even as a chain restricted his throat. "Why not just kill me now?" He questioned as if he already knew the answer. "Could it be taking everything you have just to hold these chains in place?"
Shanoa swayed in place with another exhale. Her shadow squirmed beneath her. "The final words of a dead creature." The chains twisted with the intention of ending the enemy.
"Sorry but I have a trick of my own."
DMX's body shifted, fur changing into wisps, mist formed and deadly eyes peered from within. The mist chuckled as it backed away, slipping through the chains, confident in it's escape. Rapidly his form reverted back to normal as his shoulder crashed into Shanoa. "Don't make me laugh!" He howled to the full red moon that shined bright without a cloud in sight.
His body couldn't help but tremble with excitement. A giggle escaped the werewolf as he skipped on his feet. "Yes, yes, my head is much clearer now. I've been too angry, too serious, I'm allowing them to rile me up." Jonathan didn't even have the chance to raised his guard as the werewolf suddenly appeared before him. The bloodshot gaze burned right into the young man. "Why are you still standing? KNEEL!" he commanded as he struck down with a thunderous chop.
Jojo was able to scramble away as the ground flew up from the impact. He was becoming less and less sure of himself, the werewolf shook his hips with his slow skip towards the boy. He observed the werewolf's movements, the very movements that lent the creature such incredible bursts of speed!
Jonathan could see from DMX's bloodshot eye that the monster was focused on him and only him. That meant there was a chance for that lady to get away!
"Creature of the night, now you'll face my ultimate technique." Jonathan breathed in heavily and crouched down. "This isn't something you can dodge, prepare yourself!"
DMX grinned at the weakling's rambling, even if the boy had another one of those techniques it would be for naught. So he humored the boy and bent his knees. His arm spread to the side, waiting for this boy's attack.
He would catch him and rip him apart!
"Joestar Secret Technique!" the boy whispered lowly and he bent his knees and disappeared, the wind blew right by DMX who was left speechless.
"You bastard." DMX snapped his teeth to a halt as his eye lost focus. He was beyond furious, the boy continued to mock him and not only that…!
He copied DMX's
Skip To My Loo, the boy copied his favored technique from seeing it!
"I'll chase you to the ends of the earth! You can't escape from me!"
Jojo stopped, DMX appeared before him in a blur of motion, his claw raked through the air nearly ripping the boy apart. "Even if you managed to poorly copy my technique you're still centuries too early to face me!" Jojo dodged but wasn't prepared for the kick that cracked against his knee. He couldn't fall now! He slammed his hand onto the dirt, refusing to to give up. DMX stepped forward and quickly turned into mist as the boy swung. "Give it up, I'm invincible in this form! You can't harm me!" he laughed and laughed as the boy struggled to attack.
Until a hand reached into the mist and ripped DMX back into the light.
"You think a parlor trick such as this would save you?" DMX was left speechless at the blood red eyes that pierced his very soul. He grinned as he slammed his forehead onto the floor, on his knees into the perfect bow of execution.
His excitement grew ten fold.
"Lord Dracula! If my life would bring you back then slaughter me! I'll sacrifice! I'll sacrifice my existence for your glorious return!"
Shanoa stepped back, heart pounding wildly in her chest as the werewolf bowed before her. Her teeth ached, she felt colder by the second. Her hand slowly raised itself into the air.
Danny limped his way towards his master, ready to fight even in this condition."This courage I feel, the pulse of my blood, I can't stand by until this evil is stopped!" Jonathan stood back up, his eyes glowing with determination. Those blows from the werewolf no longer hurt, especially when he felt he could take on the world right now. "But you feel it too, don't you Danny? If we don't stop him now something terrible could happen. Something unstoppable once unleashed!"
Shanoa prepared her poised hand, but was unable to finish her action.
Jonathan gripped onto her stomach, holding her back. Her body held no heat, it was cold to the touch. "Miss, you have to stop!" He wasn't sure what was going on, he could only hold her back as her body marched forward. He had to get through to her! His shoes stained against the dirt, she was giving off the same murderous aura that he felt from DMX. "Don't become a monster! Don't reject your humanity, please!"
It was enough to force Shanoa to pause in her stride, as her breath ran ragged.
"Will you still struggle or fall into darkness?"
She took another step and finally fell to her knee as she collapsed on top of Jonathan.
The sunlight began to peek through the dark clouds, banishing away the cursed night slowly but surely.
DMX snarled in anger as the light began to cover the landscape. He stepped back, considering his options. "You're lucky for now, boy! Remember my name, DMX! The name of the warrior that will have your head!" he growled as he scattered into mist and faded away. The moon made way for the sun. The shadow of a massive castle vanished with the moonlight.
"You're a ridiculous boy, you should have ran when I told you." Shanoa rasped out as Jojo continued to hold her upright. "You'll be hunted by them now, cursed with such horrible nights to come." the young man was alarmed at the tears falling from her eyes.
Jojo wasn't sure what she meant. "I'm just glad you're okay, miss..."
He could almost see the trace of a smile on her face. She stood upright, still feeling the aches of battle. "Shanoa, my name is Shanoa."
"Pleasure to meet you! My name is Jonathan Joestar."
The boy was able to bring her back from losing control, that strange power of his she had seen once before in her travels. Hamon, the Ripple, an ancient technique developed to fight against monsters. If the boy grew stronger, he would be able to stand against the horde of darkness that threatened humanity. It was possible even he could destroy an immortal being if he was strong enough.
As far as she knew the Belmonts were gone. The Order of Ecclesia had died with her.
Humanity had no one that could protect it from Dracula.
"I'm sorry, Jonathan." He looked at her, unsure of her words. "You've been touched by this cruel night, they will come after you, to destroy everything and anyone you love. Simply because you hold the power of the Hamon." The woman brushed her hair from her eyes, her body regaining it's strength by the minute. A faint pulse of guilt echoed within her, she never intended to drag anyone else into this chaos. Perhaps it was fate that led her to this boy. "I cannot hope to stop what's to come, an evil that has threatened humanity for centuries will return, it's inevitable." She couldn't, wouldn't tell him everything, not until she was sure he was ready. "I can teach you to defend yourself, I can teach you how to fight against all manners of beasts and demons. To protect humanity from those who wish to destroy it."
Shanoa still wished to give him the choice to refuse.
"People will get hurt because of this..." Jonathan placed his hand on his chest. After experiencing such a terrifying creature as a werewolf he knew he was lucky to escape with his life. Which meant others would not be so fortunate. There would be people that would suffer from things they couldn't possibly begin to understand. Jojo's eyes blazed once more with the fierce determination he had found."If people are going to get hurt, then I can't just stand by knowing that it would happen. Please teach me, so I can protect everyone Miss Shanoa!"
Shanoa observed the boy and his dog and whispered a small prayer for him. She would use him for her selfish ends, so she might finally be able to rest.
Shanoa was desperate enough to lead this boy and his bloodline towards a horrible fate.
