Valiant Anima: The Heart of a Heroine (Magical Girl Quest)

Or we could have a ability that makes a pit under the fools!

I have no idea how your would block out that technique tho hehe

And we have a mythological reference. Setting aside what exactly an Anima itself is, that leaves me with two immediate questions/points of speculation:
Does Amalthea represent that the MC is still in a stage of their development where they need nurturing, or is it that they nurture the people around them? (Though, I guess it could be both and either way I suppose that makes friendship the metaphorical milk.)
Are we going to have a goat themed magical girl costume?
We get a +2 to our roll to come up with a plan that comes together, and a +2 to our roll to express how much we love it when a plan comes together.
Behold the Valentine Strategem:
  1. Survey the enemy to determine the best point of attack
  2. Alpha Strike the enemy to break their formation
  3. Let your team mates clean up the enemy while you take notes for their performance evaluation.
  4. Hold a victory speech based on your notes.

I'm holding us to this now

I'm not gonna not push for doing this.
FUCK WAIT when we have no team members can we still write out notes and a victory speech for ourselves???

Can we like... make a fucking paper trail of all the battles and weird stuff we face? Can we like have a binder right? Full of mission reports, notes, victories and losses.

And then when we get someone on our team we drop it in their lap and tell them we want them ready for the quiz in a week.
Pllllleeeaaassseeeee

I had a dumb idea

So can we make Bros. Attacks with this system? Is it flexible enough for that?

Cause I had the idea of making someone who specialized in Bros. Attacks with other people. Sure they got their own Techs but put them with a pal and they start causing massive damage together.

There is in fact a mechanism for combo attacks. We'll get into it later.

Elemental Wheel New
Character sheet updated with skills. Update next week.

And while we are at it, some mention is made of elemental affinities. For the purposes of this quest:

FIRE beats WOOD/TOXIC
WOOD/TOXIC beats WIND/FORCE
WIND/FORCE beats METAL/SHOCK
METAL/SHOCK beats WATER/ICE
WATER/ICE beats FIRE

RADIANT beats DARK
DARK beats RADIANT

I have gotten started on the update, but my new blood pressure medication is sapping my energy. Up ASAP, hopefully Wednesday.

I hope that the help the medication offers makes up for the side-effects. In any case, please do take care of yourself first and foremost, but it is good to hear the update is on its way. Wishing you well. ❤️

So.

Last week was my worst physical health week in months.

I'm going to update no later than the 7th of December.

In the meantime, enjoy a sneak peek at our Techniques.

Thanks to bed rest, yogurt to calm my stomach and intestine, and plenty of water, today's the first day I've been able to sit at my computer for three days. But I appreciate your concern and will keep drinking water and resting.
Good! I'm glad your recovering, but please don't push it any. Your health matter much more then a fun silly quest
Still, good your getting better and I wish you good fortune that it'll continue to improve, be well okay?

Rapier Lunge
Agility Damage Core, Dash, Power 2, TL 3
You lunge at or past a target, striking with a rapier.
Attack Action: Move 2 spaces before or after attacking. Roll Dexterity (1d10+5) to hit. On a hit, deal 43 physical damage to the target. Costs 5 Stamina.

Chaos Dunk
Agility Damage Core, Ranged, Power 2, TL3
A single target gets dunked on with a slung hard ball.
Attack Action: Roll Dexterity (1d10+5) to hit a target within 8 meters. On a hit, deal 43 physical damage to the target. Costs 5 Stamina.

Wind Tunnel
Mind Damage Core, Line, Wind Elemental, Power 2, TL3
Amalthea conjures a linear cyclone.
Attack Action: Roll Intuition (1d10+5) to hit all targets in a 6 meter line drawn from your melee range. On a hit, deal 43 Wind elemental damage to the target. Costs 5 Stamina.

Discombobulate
Mind Weaken Core, Power 3, TL3
This mustn't register on an emotional level... Amalthea conjures a disorienting burst of light and noise.
Support Action. Roll Intuition (1d10+5) to hit: on hit, the target is Uncoordinated (and rolls -1 to evade Agility-based attacks) until the start of your, three turns from now.
Taking a look at this sneak peek. As per Valor rules, at level 1 we have 12 "Technique Points", each of which buys a "level" of technique, and each technique is capped at (Character Level+3), so 4 at level 1. Valentine has opted for 4 techs at level 3: 3 of them are Damage Techniques, each with 2 levels of Core (contributing damage) and 1 level of Modifier. Rapier Lunge gains the Dash modifier, giving us some free movement (probably meant to say "4 meters" instead of "2 spaces" since Talia otherwise converts battlemap spaces to concrete measurements), making us pretty amazingly agile on turns where we use it, considering we're starting with 10m of movement every turn as a base. Chaos Dunk is a ranged attack, taking advantage of Agility's synergies to get that extra 2m of range out of the modifier. Wind Tunnel, our Persona's starter spell, hits all targets in a line, and also takes a level of Elemental: Wind modifier for free thanks to Mind's synergies. Discombobulate is our only starting technique that isn't Damage Core, instead inflicting a defensive debuff on a target that makes them easier to hit with Rapier Lunge, Chaos Dunk, or any other Agility-based technique that, say, a teammate could use.

Solid start for a mobile harrier type of attacker, getting good use out of speed, range, and positioning. Combined with our Skills we have a lot of opportunities to stack up damage on an attack, as well as being able to move in and out of various ranges easily. This is a good thing, because we're definitely going to fold like a well-oiled lawnchair if someone punches us.
