Why hasn't MC blown up from the suicide bomb yet? And why hasn't he told Fate he has one implanted
By and large, the bomb is intent based. And Faust has, if anything, been trying to get along better with Precia for Fate's sake. In addition, even though the magic making up the bomb is uber-advanced, it's also pretty focused on neurochemistry to work, because Nanoha's magic system is pretty much purely physical/scientific. So it's still finicky as well, being something that Precia pretty much threw together as opposed to being an actual spell that's known and widely circulated in any real capacity. Finally, Faust isn't actually trying to betray Precia here. He's leaving the Jewel Seeds to Fate, knowing that the TSAB isn't going to stop them, and that he's pretty thoroughly embedded proper survival habits in her. It's not like he's expecting Fate to fail.

As for why he hasn't told her about the bomb? Well he's told her about her own existence as a clone, as well as his own. But that was because she's not stupid and Jail pretty explicitly hinted at it in their first in-person encounter. Telling your adoptive daughter that you have a literal bomb inside you that's controlled by her mother? Idk man, I wouldn't do that, particularly if I'm not planning on setting it off. Maybe if she was older, but she's literally not even a teen yet.

Now, that being said, Faust is 100% not in his right state of mind. I've been trying to hint at it, but yeah, not sure how well that's really getting across. I'm pretty shit at all of this subtle stuff, which is, again, why I'm trying to practice it.

It came through ok I think, but I still fine it really stupid of the MC to not build a proper Device. It's literally stated that what he has is barely worth calling it as a Device. Now he is going into a dangerous, life and death, fight and he's not even geared up? Does he have a death wish??

The thing that really sticks out for me is that he just made a deal with a guy that can afford a state of the art ship and he knew he was going into combat, yet when the scientist asked if there was anything else he didn't ask for a Device or at lest the parts to make one.

I mean yeah he made a deal to work with Scaglietti, but the guy's a genius. There's no way I'd trust anything he makes, at least not for personal use or without copious, copious vetting that Faust is quite frankly unqualified to do and incapable of receiving.

In terms of not building a proper Device, yeah, it definitely sucks that he's not armed to the teeth, as it were. But they were doing well enough when the missions were relatively low risk, and yes, even the Jewel Seeds count as relatively low risk. The Heartless invasion was really sudden, and it's a race against time, so to speak. Building a device is a time intensive, extremely expensive process as well, further making it unreliable.

Still, Faust's current Device is definitely better than the mass-produced stuff that most TSAB members use, but not at the level of the special-made stuff the higher ups get. More or less par for the course for an average merc, I suppose you could say.

Scalietti is a genius, exactly, so there is no way for you to know that the device you have has not already been replaced, your memories altered, you body a clone with implanted memories. This is not about trusting things Scalietti makes, this is about being dumb, the MC is TOO DUMB to NOT be tricked by Scalietti, so ASK FOR HELP. Pretending to be Big Brain and not taking anything just hurts the MC for no reason, when Scalietti could have their body filled with nanobots that can paralyze/mind control/whatever anytime, anywhere anyway.

This is generally a problem with "Smart" fictional characters, and how they are written as barely literate idiots that show no proof of that "intelligence" in their actions, all they have is a backstory of "smart".

Honestly the introduction of the Heartless really made me lose interest. I'm not sure why they were introduced because they still had Scaglietti among others to deal with, the way it just suddenly happens with no build up suprised me. Between this and the fact that it hasn't been updated in more than a year makes me not sure how to feel about this despite being invested earlier.

You know, I'm not that familiar with the lore of Kingfdom Hearts, but a bit better with Nanoha.

In Nanoha, Al Hazard was this huge super advanced civilisation that existed ages ago and just vanished with no warning.
The other advanced civilisation were the Warring States of Belka, who pretty much destroyed themselves in multiple civil wars.
Possibly large parts of Belkan magic might be salvaged from Al Hazardian remains.
And now, Mid-Childa and the TSAB are the surviviors working together to keep civilisation working, and often run into Lost Logia, pieces of magic that are extremely powerful, extremely dangerous, and extremely incomprehensible. They are also remnants of Belka and / or Al Hazard.

In Kingdom Hearts, there was this huge civilisation that grew immensely powerful by settling around Kingdom Hearts, and growing on the Light it radiated.
But they wanted more, and decided instead of the Light that radiated from Kingdom Hearts, they would go for the far greater Light inside of it.
They tried everything, but were unable to open the door of Kingdom Hearts, until they built the X-Blade, an item that could unlock everything.
It managed to unlock the door, but before they could open it, a war started over who would have the honour of being the first to enter Kingdom Hearts.
During that war the X-Blade shattered, and the pieces became the first Keyblades.
In a desperate attempt to end the war, a number of Keyblade Masters snuck around the fighting so they could throw open the already unlocked doors of Kingdom Hearts.
But what was inside was not a Greater Light, but an unending tide of Heartless.
The Heartless quickly ruined everything (even more than they already were), the Civilisation was destroyed, and the One World shattered to pieces into a lot of smaller Worlds.

Now, could it be that the Kingdom Hearts Civilisation was Al Hazard?
And that the World of Nanoha is just the biggest piece left of the One World?

What do you think?
And could someone tell me how much I got wrong with the Kingdom Hearts lore?
