The reasons should be self-evident.
I believe that picking up some basic self-defence spell, perhaps a variant of The Dwellers Below, to keep the masquerade of being a Ghyran mage up in case we do get spotted, but I think it can be delayed. So more mana gen is fine for now, even if we might have trouble spending it in a pinch.
