[X] [Ghost] "Ruby?"
"That's really... Ugh... Fine, whatever, if that's what makes you happy." It's the most human the little machine has sounded since you met her (she sounds like a her after all, and it's not like you have any visual cues to go on, at least... None that you would recognize... Hopefully...)
"So then Ruby! You were saying?
"Yes! Right. Your light... You say it wants to be shaped? Hm... Technically you'd be a Hunter then, at least... I think. The new classification systems are so confusing..."
"Classification?" You query, scratching your head, "who by?"
"By whom" Ruby corrects and you feel a sharp urge to smack her upside the... Head?
...Close enough.
"The city, the new city. We should probably go there, though it's a long walk, and a bit of a swim I think for you... We should probably find a ship." Something teases your memories at that, a faint amused note, but you're not sure why. Ruby glances to you and you realize you're smirking. "Correction, a smaller ship. Preferably one that flies."
Ah, that makes sense, you must be on a boat then. Ship. Whatever. You just smile a little wider and your ghost bobs up and down with a little digitized sigh, like a soft rush of static. "You know what I mean Guar-... Aly." Your smirk stretches into a grin, despite whatever craziness has befallen you, all Ghost and Guardian and whatever else was going on, you feel surprisingly... Good.
You exhale and nod. "Alright... So where can we find a ship then?" Seems like this 'City' is someplace you could get answers, but you don't know. Even if you don't remember your past, you feel you were always something of a free spirit, but even if you don't go to the City, a ship could let you move about more easily than on foot at least.
"You might want to find a weapon first." Ruby counsels quietly as you begin to walk, slowly exploring the rusted corridors. You pass by ancient display stands, plastic and glass cracked and worn with age. "I saw a few Fallen scavenging through the ruins on my way in. Not many, but you wouldn't want to run across them unarmed." You give the Ghost a look. "They may only be scavengers, but they're dangerous."
"Such a wonderful world you've brought me back to I see..." You murmur softly. It's oddly saddening, yet at the same time you feel excited. A new world, a dangerous world, so much to see and do.
It really could be wonderful perhaps...
Something grinds under your foot, a little divot in the floor coming loose as you put your weight on it, you bend down, prying back the accumulated rust and grime covering an old knife, still enwrapped in a decaying fake leather sheath. For all the mess over it though, the blade still gleams as you loosen it, and you feel goosebumps down your arms as suddenly that pool of power inside you twitches. A spark jumps from you to the knife, and your fingertips smart with the sudden electric contact, almost prompting you to drop the knife entirely before little strands of white touch it, twisting around it.
For a single instant, it shines bright, and then you are left blinking spots from your eyes. The rust and dirt are gone, and while the leather is still scuffed and worn, it is no longer decaying, while the blade within has a sheen to it that wasn't there before. You catch your own eye in your reflection for a moment...
It's such a small thing, and yet, you feel like you could take on the world with this knife.
You turn to your Ghost. "Weapon enough?"
A long moment of silence, and then finally, a grudging response. "It's a start."
Time to go exploring!
[] [Where] Make your way upwards, see if you can find a route to the outside and take a look at your surroundings.
[] [Where] Make your way downwards, if there's a way off this boat, it'll probably be somewhere below you since you don't feel like jumping off the side.
[] [Where] Just explore this floor for now, see what you can see.
[] [How] Move quickly, no sense hanging around here for too long.
[] [How] Move quietly, no sense in wandering in the open drawing attention to yourself.
[] [How] Move carefully, no sense in missing out on anything potentially useful.
