A Merry Christmas to you all, and welcome to the last event of this year's Winterfest Calendar. Unfortunately, I have dire news. Rather than the event we had planned, I have to ask your help to save the forum from dire peril!
The spirit of Skeleton King @Datcord has arisen from his icy crypt in the Halls of Judgement, and broken the terrible wards of sealing we placed upon it over a year ago. Although he is but a wraith without much of his former power, he is still terrible indeed, and in the dead of night he managed to steal into the grove guarding SV's Winterfest Tree, and scattered the twelve sacred partridges who guard the twelve magical pears, imprisoning them across the forum. Without all twelve partridges, the Winterfest Tree will not be able to grow itself anew, the New Year will not arrive, and an age of darkness and ice will fall upon the entire world, and (more importantly) severely disrupt the operations of the forum.
That's why it's all up to you.
Each of the partridges has been scattered and imprisoned in a thread somewhere on the forum. We need you to find them and free them before the Twelve Days of Christmas Winterfest are up. To help you, we will be providing magic clues. With each partridge we are able to find, the omens for the next grow clearer, so expectone clue each evening. Then it's up to you to find the thread where the partridge has decided to roost before time runs out!

FAQ
Is it okay to discuss answers and work on the clues in the thread?
Absolutely, please just put any solutions underneath a spoiler.
What kind of threads should we expect?
We've tried to make things a bit different for this one, so the threads we've chosen are less Quests and User Fiction centric, and drawn more widely from other parts of the forum.
I'm stuck, what should I do?
Discuss the clue in the thread and put your heads together! There is no puzzle so formiddable that SV cannot solve as a team, if previous events have taught us anything.
But I'm really stuck.
There may be a pattern to the threads the partridges are hidden in, which might be helpful...
Immediately checked the first thread, since doing so is easy enough, even though it didn't really fit the hint.
Glanced through Corncob, because it does fit the hint, though it didn't feel historically important enough to be correct, and in any case none of the threads within seemed likely.
I had the idea it might be referring to one of the staff, but I didn't know where to even start with that.
I did re-check the rules to make sure the answer would specifically be within a thread and not on a user or help page.
Then I did a search for the next most obvious thing, ordered it by date, and went to the oldest thread.

My first impulse was to check our trusty 'Screencaps from Last Night'-thread, since that's a big thread with a pretty nonsensical name we've just been sticking with for years.
