Trouble In Mafia Town [Mafia]

Urgh. You know, if I'd just stuck to my guns and voted for atk, ze mutter might not've died.

I'll point out, though, that the dog role doesn't work in a six player game.

By the time they came back from the playing dead, two people would be lynched, and two people would have been nightkilled, leaving just them and the mafia. They wouldn't even get the chance to talk.

Yep, it was a pretty trash ability that probably assumed Mother would protect at least one person once.

However, it did work in that it stopped a mislynch, and me from being modkilled when I was temp banned for a couple of daytime days.

That's not a trash role, it's stupidly OP. Your role threw off everything about the game, in favor of town. It took my chances from slim to none

Well, trash for the fact that I like talking a lot and it stopped me talking. Yeah, I was the second most suspicious person, and everyone was thinking about lynching me. So me playing dead stopped us losing the game possibly.

Which is kind of why I mentioned how I thought I should have saved it for a longer game.

... Did no one read my comments?
I mean, sure, you said that. That in no way invalidates Rikimaru disliking a role that, in context, was 'be gone for half the game' and where that half is the part where anything is confirmed.

That would be equivalent in experience in a longer game to being out something like 3-5 days, starting day 3-4 type range.

Like, saying 'it only removed you for a day' is not actually comforting when placed in context of such a short game, and this was that short game, not a longer hypothetical game with the same mechanic.

Like, this is really a non-sequitur given you were specifically responding to Riki's statement about it stopping him from talking. For a day, in a two day game.

His opinion of it might have been different in a significantly larger setup.

I repeat, this is a non-sequitur. True or not, the sequence of events here was 'Rikimaru bitches about his role, Crystalwatcher says it was "only for a day", Terrabrand and Rikimaru note that that's half the game, and then Crystalwatcher for no apparent reason talks as if people are ignoring them saying they should have saved it for a longer game'.

Yes, we read the comments. That has nothing to do with whether one day is long in a two day game or whether not being able to talk for fully half the game is a significant imposition.

Like, I don't even know why you keep repeating this. All I can think of is 'not really reading the things others are saying', but I'm sure there are other possible explanations. Doesn't make me any less baffled.

I think it's a breakdown in communication.

Rikimaru's problem was the fact it stopped him from talking while from where I'm siting, everyone else is talking about how it's a role that removes someone for a day/night cycle.

It's the latter that I was replying to.

I didn't actually mind the role, my problem was the fluff being too strong and Little Sis not being an FBI traitor.

However i still enjoyed myself.

I mean. Not sure what you're on about, Terrabrand. He acknowledges the mistake in putting it, as is, in this game. He says it'd work better, again, as-is, in a longer game. And you know what? I agree with him there. It's a pretty interesting role in a vacuum.

Yeah I was intrigued. Took me a few questions to figure out exactly how it worked.

Hey CW do ya think u can give us the fluff conclusion? I wanna read about little sis getting lynched and the remaining family reactions.

Have a Win, Courtesy of Rikimaru
Unlikely to happen @Rikimaru, sorry.
Oh well. I will omake this then.

After an hour of thinking before the Meeting, the remaining family members returned to the Lounge. Dad and Big Sister nodded at each other, whilst Little Sister tried to convince Big Sister that she was innocent. Dad smiled as Spot came in happily wagging his tale and panting. "You're a good boy Spot, no matter the decision you will have be fed today." And Dad and Big Sister announced that Little Sister would be die.

"YOU KILLED MY BROTHER YOU LITTLE SHIT!" Big Sister screamed, grabbing at the Perfect Little Angel who suddenly reached for the still blood encrusted axe she had hid behind her white-board. Before she could reach it, however, Dad and the mysteriously healthy Spot the Family Dog hurtled towards the maniac. Spot bit deep into Little Angel's off-hand, while Dad grabbed the hand that hand just began to leverage the axe. A short but brief altercation occurred, but the little angel was soon under control.

"I am very disappointed in you, my youngest daughter. The punishment of murdering your grandparents, my son and tricking us into killing my Wife is death. Good job Spot! eat her!" and after Big Sis threw open the windows, tossed Little Angel off to her death. Doors were all opened, and Spot had his fill, eating a baddie who tried to kill Daddy.

The Shattered Little Family turned in for the night, praying that this was the last of the devastation. Daddy shed many a tear that night, Big Sister lit candles for Big Brother's soul and wept. Meanwhile, Spot continued gnawing happily on the broken remains of the traitor who tried to destroy his Perfect Little Family, before happily curling up in his perfect little dog kennel.

Spot the Family Dog victory.
Dad and Big Sister survival.
