"I know Alter but I can't thing of anything better, who knows what we're getting into and if it's something that required help to be called in I'd rather not have mom anywhere near it." I said before smiling "Besides I trust Kuro, she'll know what to do."

Frustrating, I look at the moping Illyasviel, and then gaze at Irisviel while rubbing my temples as I try to figure something out. I try to remember something that fix the situation.

It's not that I don't like Illyasviel, it's just that I don't think she'd be of much help if those crows attacked again. They probably can't hurt Illyasviel, but Iri is squishier than her by a large margin. Like comparing steel to leather.

I hated Prisma Illya, I thought it was just bad fanservice and so I didn't pay much attention to it at all. What little I did pay attention to…
I reign in the errant personality and bring myself back into balance again.

"Illya, couldn't you just hand her one of your cards?"

Huh, how could Alter know about that and why would it be important now?...
Light bulb
I stopped as the idea occurred to me ....it was....it was something I honestly didn't really want to do but....but if you thought about it there wasn't really any other option if I wanted to be sure mom was kept safe.

"Yes, b-but are you sure we should?...i'm not even entirely sure mom can use it."

It is a risk. Attempting such, even succeeding, would be putting Irisviel in certain danger. As opposed to only possibly being in danger should we simply leave her with Illyasviel.

Saber seems to want to take Iri with us and seems to be confident that she can keep her safe, but I've been wrong before. Not to mention there is a possibility that Kiritsugu will summon Saber should he encounter a situation that he cannot handle himself. It would be disastrous if we rely on Saber to protect Irisviel and then have her vanish.

Irisviel is knowledgeable with her own magic, but her inexperience shows. I'd like to think that she is capable of enough intuitive thinking that she would be a quick study should she need to defend herself.

Truthfully it would be best for both Saber and Irisviel to stay here and turtle up with Illyasviel, but knowing myself as I do, she will not simply sit idle in a situation like this.

I rub my temples somewhat harder before I glance to Saber and her master, then back over to my own. I step over to Illya and whisper to her.

"I am… unsure as to whether or not Saber will simply stay here and protect Irisviel and Illyasviel while we handle the situation, and she will not simply leave Irisviel here with your sister either. Truthfully, I would recommend making the attempt to use your card on her and leaving her here, but if that is not an option then it would be prudent to make sure that your mother is capable of protecting herself in a greater capacity, Saber can be summoned away at any time by Kiritsugu."

"Saber, Alter you two can ride behind me." I said mounting my steed.
"As much as I wish to contribute, surely you understand what I cannot leave my master alone." Saber replies, neutrally, for now content to let the other do the talking.

"Yes, b-but are you sure we should?...i'm not even entirely sure mom can use it."

"Use what?" Irisviel interrupts you, unexpectedly, despite being silent so far as you were talking with your Servant. Her voice is impatient, to the point of sounding almost frustrated. "If it's gives me an ability to meaningfully help, I'll take it."

"Irisiviel..." The blue servant starts speaking, but as quickly stopped by her companion.

"This might sound somewhat rush, but if things are as grave as they are, I cannot be allowed to held you back. And if that "Something" can actually allow to finally help, and not just stand aside..." Her voice trembles, a sad, troubled undertone entering it for a second - but quickly receding as she takes a deep breath, new emotion taking it's place.

"If it's real, I'll take it. It was quite a long time I hid behind Kiritsugi; but if now I could help him, it will be so." With absolute confidence, the Einzbern's vessel states her opinion.

As it looks now, not much could be done in order to stop her from helping if you can give her means to actually make her able to help instead of being a burden to those whom she holds most dear.

Again looking between Illya and Iri, I see the similarities between the two. Not just in their looks, or their inherited memories, but in their attitudes as well. The mother and daughter are uncannily alike.

It causes warmth to grow in my chest, and for a brief instance I smile sincerely at the elder of the two. Even though the situation is dire, there is still time for bits of light and life. It's a shame that there is no time for the two to speak, I would very much like it if Iri could mother her daughter in a way that she wasn't able to in my timeline.

Yet much as I would like it to be, this is not that time. Now there's a monster devouring innocents, and we're sitting here. With good cause, but I would rather be in the fray and assisting the other heroic spirits battle Casters monsters. Just like the War previous.

But Irisviel asked a question, and so it is my duty to answer in my utmost capacity.

I close my eyes once more, and draw on the memories of an insecure Narcissist. Shortly after, I am able to answer the question to the extent in which I am able to remember.

"In another world, it was not the Einzbern that created the Holy Grail War." I begin with a solemn tone, my eyes closed shut as I try to remember. "This family's Holy Grail is as potent as the uncorrupted vessel in this world would be. However, without the knowledge of the Einzbern, Tohsaka, and Makiri, the War utilizes different means and methods." I take a deep breath, and open my eyes again as I continue speaking.

"In place of Servants, their war utilizes a form of mystic code that is capable of extracting or perfectly mimicking the essence of Heroic Spirits. These Mystic Codes are the Cards that I was speaking of. They give the users the abilities of the Heroic Spirit, their skills, abilities, Noble Phantasms, sometimes even their knowledge." I wait for a moment to let the information sink in. I turn to address Illya again before I continue.

"Illya, I believe that your mother will be capable of using the Cards just as well as you can. The two of you are not so different in body." I return to answering Irisviels question.

"It would be best that you remain off of the front lines." I begin slowly, "That leaves us with two options, options that I believe my master will find agreeable." I swallow once and return to the task. "The Archer Card would be the first choice. Archers are known for having many Noble Phantasms. This card would keep you safe from harm an-"

I freeze up for a moment as a flash of memory crosses my mind. A figure with bronze skin and white hair, a tall man dressed in red. Ah… that's right. I can feel my throat clenching as I think about the name…

"Never mind that now. The second choice would be better. Reality Marble Unlimited Blade Works would be useful, but the skills and abilities of 'Heroic Spirit EMIYA Shirou' would run counter to your instincts. No, that leaves us with the second option. To make use of the Card that bears the essence of Medea, the witch of Colchis."

Well, he is evidently unarmed now. Still, time to move on. I nod at Archer, before continuing to head towards Shinto, assuming he doesn't decide to start asking impertinent questions.

As you spoke, for a shortest moments Archer does looks like he is going to say something, but almost instantly decided against it. Instead, he gives a brief nod which looked like it was adressed more to himself than to you, and then continues to move toward the battlefield.

Very soon, you reach the outskirts of Shinto; and here, Archer stops only to take position at the highest yet-to-be destroyed building.

"I will stay here, and provide fire support. Have fun down there." He says, as he discards his robe, summons his bow and prepares to fire.

A second later, a drill-like arrows appears in his hand...

"In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost do I bless all who stand against this evil! For the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, for victory is the Lord's!"

[Deus Vult] used!

(All non-evil aligned allies gain a Smite Evil based damage bonus)

As you cry out, your injuries heal and the familiar, holy power starts to course through your body and that of your allies alike.

The baleful eye stares at you, angrily - but it's light is weaker than that which seared you skin, a pale shadow incapable of truly harming your quickly.

As you allies and you continue to stand against the slowly strenghening tide, for a second it looked like it would be able only stare at you helplessly... And then, a shadow covers you.

A massive thing of stone and metal, now covered in hideous corrupted flesh, the mauled form of the former Hyatt Hotel is coming down at you.

As my main hull speeds its way to the location of my drones, I ponder the worsening situation. Perhaps it may be time I finally bring the Hellbore, which has yet to be used, to bear on the enemy.

The unknown enchancement proves to be effective - incredibly so. Despite the abomination's new armor, you newly improved firepower is as effective as it was before.

However, the pressure does not lessens; the monsters still throw themself into your fire with a wild abandon, fully disregarding their lives - and for every monster you slay, more come to take it's place.

The main frame will arrive to Shinto in a less than a minute. However, it has a clear view on the massive of a tree right now; firing Hellbore cannon while avoiding colleteral damage is possible.

hopefully a decent distance away from the ever-increasing horde.

The firepower your allies and your own grenades do the trick - the tide is currently held back, and nothing besides smoldering remains is left near the trajectory of yours descend.

However, as you land a shadow darkens the ground below you.

I take control of the air around me and Lancer, and go up.

"Um, you guys might wanna keep your distance, I'm gonna try to burn the rest of the tentacles." Oh god I still can't believe I sound like a little kid.

The woman with a spear sewers them as you speak, as the skeleton on whom she holds unto succesfully keeps more of them from coming near.

"Done. Can you take us away from here, please?" Lancer asks you in a dissonantly polite and calm tone of voice for a woman who is hanging over the abyss with unspeakable monsters below, while trying to fend off vile advances of tentillums and holding on a flying skeleton like on a lifeline.

For now, you wings are free - but you success seems to have managed to attract attention; titanic branches squirm, and the Hyatt Hotel, which the pair escaped just a few second ago suddenly comes flying like a mere rock thown my child; it misses you by only a few dozens of meters, continuing the flying down below, into direction of the fighters below.

And then tentacles continue to move again... In your direction. Slow for now, as somehow left unable to move after holding the weight of Hyatt for so long - but faster with each passing moment.

Crap. Need to go. Now.

But what way? Should I stick with Lancer and the dragon? Or should I just go straight up?

Or maybe I could go recruit help from another Master and Servant...

No, this is noticable. Everyone who is going to help is either helping, or coming.

What do I do?

...I'm clueless. I'll just ride with Lancer on the dragon. Follow instructions. Throw fire at the tentacles. Use the air to slow their approach. Easy things like that.

To be worthy of the mantle of Hidalgo Fuerza, one must follow many strictures and codes. Do not lie, cheat, or steal. Protect the weak from the wicked strong. And never, ever, no matter the odds, never retreat in the face of evil.

The last was not, however, a suicide pact. In the face of a raging fire, an tidal wave, or say, most of a multi-story building falling out of the sky, a warrior of the faith was permitted to retreat as fast as he possibly could...provided he took every possible effort to rescue anyone else caught up in the disaster's path.

And so with a hearty cry of "Vaminos! Rapidamente!" Hidalgo knocked his heels against his steed's side and streaked away, out from under the falling structure's landing zone.

Only to sheer off at an angle that would leave an ordinary horse and rider with broken necks as he notices a young girl caught beneath the shadow of the tumbling object. Who she is, why she hasn't run like anyone with decent sense, and why she's more heavily armed than an entire station of federales are questions he can ponder later, after he's rescued her from being crushed to a pulp.

As he nears, the masked man reaches out with one arm, intending to pull the gun toting nina into the saddle behind him....

'Yeah. I'll have fun.' I thought while looking at the demon tree of doom. 'What I'm going to do will have all the elements of having fun, except the fun ones.'

It isn't long after rushing into the city that I come across my first view of the 'small' demons.

...They're nauseating to look at. Just hearing them move makes me feel sick. They don't belong here. They never did. If humans are something born of Gaia but still reject it, and Servants used to belong but are now rejected as long as they live, these things were antithetical to it from the very beginning. Whatever dimension they come from is completely opposed to it.

So it's only natural that everything from this world should want them dead. Even if they were simply wandering around doing nothing, their mere existence would necessitate their removal from this world.

Problem; Caster will just summon more from their flesh if I merely chop them into pieces. They need to be destroyed more thoroughly than that. Archer can probably do so with Broken Phantasms, but neither the axe-sword or my claws can accomplish that. To inhibit their summoning, I'll have to do enough damage that the remains cannot be categorized as 'flesh'.

While my abilities are rather skewed in favor of physical attacks, there's still that.

Without a specific conceptual weapon or effect to prevent the dead flesh of those monsters from being used as a reagent to spawn new ones, the best way to keep them down is to burn them to ashes. Fortunately, I have the ability to do just that.

I think about what I want to happen, and The World responds.

'Burn.'

One-upping a certain magus, the 2000°C conflagration initiates and moves towards monsters. There are presumably others fighting in this hell-hole, but not in this particular area. The only thing to burn are the grotesque creations of Caster.

I looked into my mothers eyes as she spoke and I understood how she felt, I'd felt exactly the same when I thought I couldn't do anything to help Miyu or Rin or Luvia or Kuro....

"I...understand mom" I said to her leaping off Pegasus and walking towards her "I'm not sure if this is going to work...but we have to try at least" and with that my hand drew the Caster card and gently placed it in my moms hands.

The firepower your allies and your own grenades do the trick - the tide is currently held back, and nothing besides smoldering remains is left near the trajectory of yours descend.

However, as you land a shadow darkens the ground below you.
When a massive shadow suddenly appears around you, the default reaction for most people is to look up to see what is creating said shadow. For someone who is quite used to having building sized objects thrown at or dropped on them, the default reaction instead is to move out of the shadow as quickly as possible.

Therefore, it was quite natural that anyone with the experiences of Homura Akemi would, upon seeing the large shadow covering their landing site, run out from under it as quickly as possible. So that was what I was going to do the moment I landed, but right as I landed I saw something far outside anything Homura or I would have ever expected from a fight with an skyscraper sized eldritch horror, a masked wrestler glowing with a holy white light riding a horse.

Normally, a sight such as this would be ignored as irrelevant, but given the shining wrestler was heading strait for me, I was willing to pay attention. The fact that his horse seemed to be galloping a bit faster than normal probably helped.

I didn't have many options right now, given the building's corrupted state I likely couldn't afford to let the building fall ontop of me, while I could normally endure such punishment, the fact that the building was covered in the same material that formed the shoggoths didn't fill me with confidence that the building wouldn't stop with simply falling onto of me. That simply left either using flight magic to boost my jumping speed so I could get out as quickly as possible, or joining up with the approaching man on his horse, so while I was more than willing to use my magic to avoid this building, it would be much more efficient to simply let this wrestler's steed carry us both out of immediate danger.

So with my course of action decided on, and when the man reached me and held out his hand, I took it and pulled myself up and onto the horse. Only then, as we rode off and out of the Hyatt grim shadow, would I look back unto the falling structure.

"Buenos tardes, senorita. Me llamo Hidalgo Fuerza, como te...I beg your pardon." The priest said conversationally. "Good evening, young lady. I am known as Hidalgo Fuerza, and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. When we get clear of this, Caballero will carry you to safety, l am sorry to depart so soon after making your acquaintance, but I have business to be done with el diablo there, and this is no place for a young woman..."

Turning my attention back fully towards the luchadore, and with my usual mask of stoicism in place, I replied evenly "I've spent nearly half my life fighting abominations like this, and while I greatly appreciate both your aid and concern, you need all the help you can get, so I'm not going to be leaving till this thing and whoever's responsible for it is dead and buried."

Alas, the situation does not seem to improve any more. As I note the mounted man recover an armed girl from the masses, I find that my sensors confirm that my main hull is now within engagement range of the enemy eldritch monstrosities. Now revving up my secondary armament, I wait until I gain a clearer view of my drone's current position and the position of my allies - of which I note some have gone airborne off what appears to be a dragon.

Once the vision is open, I open fire with my mortars and Ion-Bolt Infinite Repeaters, which carry more bang for their buck due to being the latest, more potent repeaters that were brought into service from the time my Model was the frontline unit, but I digress.

I then come to realize the one signal I was initially confused about when I received it has been originating from my central targeting unit. The Hellbore is now able to be deployed on the primary target. I rotate the gun and prepare to fire...

...only to find that I had not even loaded the first deuterium-fusion block to fire at the enemy with. The weapons system had been left inactive ever since I arrived here. This complicates matters.

I initiate the activation sequence to send the Hellbore weapon system online, but with the current delays in keeping my sensor circuits active with tracking so many different units it will be 5.56 minutes before the weapon is ready to fire. Hopefully it will not be too late by then.

Still, I continue pressing forward, maneuvering my main hull closer to the position of my allies and drones. The sooner I can rendezvous, the better.

The Hyatt lands with deafening impact, squashing anything unfortunate to be under it; mostly the monsters beneath it.

Unlike what should have happened, the structure does not break nor crash ; the stone cracks, it's form twists and stretches, but it does not fail apart.

The surviving monsters stop their assault - only to congregate around the fallen structure, joining and merging with the corrupted bulk.

As many horrors gather around it, crawl onto it and into it, with a wet gurgling sound, in a feat of durability and strength what seems to be hardly physically possible, Hyatt convulses. It holds together still; not unlike a giant snake covered in a hide of stone and meat. It shudders - and surprisingly fast for such a huge structure, it starts crawling toward you, absorbing any object or creature unfortunate enough to lie on it's path.

To be worthy of the mantle of Hidalgo Fuerza

As you escape, perilously close to being hammered into a pulp, the threat does not vanish. Barely a few moment ago, the massive structure which was failing on you now moves, crawling toward you, tentacles growing and hardening into twisted, corrupted legs not unlike those of giant centipede, with each second becoming faster and faster.

As the monstrosity moves, already much faster than an average horse, the surface of it's flesh, like that of a thousands of intertwined tentacles roil like waves. Without a warning, it's great maw opens, and a large number of tentacles extend trying to grasp you...

Suddenly, a great many explosive arrows of light starting to rain at the cursed monster behind you, making it roar in pain, slowing it down and tearing into its body, yet this does not stop it.

Then, you see a tank.

...only to find that I had not even loaded the first deuterium-fusion block to fire at the enemy with. The weapons system had been left inactive ever since I arrived here. This complicates matters.

As you ride onward quickly, the familiar horse-riding figure and your own drones quickly come into the view of your main frame as they run away in your direction.

Together with giantic tentacle-covered centipede-building pursuing him with a speed more fitting for something infitively lesser than a building transformed into a flesh golem, absorbing anything unfortunate enough to stands on it's way.

Briefly, you notice a numerous flashes of baleful light much further away, from you. Its effect is almost unnoticeable, but its there, even it's still nowhere near the force of the first flash. To add to all of this another, much more familiar light starts to burn on the battlefield.

And burn they do; with terrifying shrieks of pain, the fire spreads and a great deal of them burn.

You see the Archer likewise sending literally clouds of the transformed magical swords of highest caliber into the tree, trying to destroy the gigantic eyes without success and gigantic monster that it recently spawned. As Hyatt, like many monsters is covered in flames, but even so, it continues to move. As it roars, the stone heats up, and its flesh burns. The magical power forces it to regenerate, and counter the damage dealt.

Then, you feel another force. A force, infinitely lesser than that of a World - but still beyond any human... Yet, created by humanity.

Somehow, you understand, something deeply in your consciousness tells you - The Counter Force is starting to act.

And then you hear it; the voice of the chosen medium of Alaya's will speaks across the battlefield.

"God is Here With Me."

"Sure, where do you think we should go?"

You fly away, carrying passengers, while blasting and slashing at anything unfortunate enough to reach out toward you.

That's when it arrives.

First slow, then faster and faster, new branches of the gigantic tree grow into the space previously blocked by the Hyatt. The airspace where you have been just a few moments ago, is now blocked.

Then, the searing light flashes behind you, with no ill effect to you.

"God is Here With Me." The Lancer says, calmly - almost like a prayer, and instantly, the the spear in her hands transforms into one meant for combat. The spear which D'Arc carried in battle during the life.

As it flutters on the wind, you suddenly feel like you are unbeatable, invincible... Safe.

The lights flashes twice more as the cursed eyes start to opening again this time much closer to you - and yet, you remain unharmed, as you start lowering to the ground.

"The cursed influence is going to extend and intensify indefinitely until it's stopped." Jeanne speaks, suddenly "The Cursed light affects The World, twisting it, killing it... Unless we act quickly, God will destroy this place, so the world could stay safe. Do what you can to prevent this disaster. I can, and will stop the spread of the curse for a time, but eventually, I will be forced to act."

With this words, she slips off you, on the ground below, her battle-skirt fluttering on the wind.

As she lands, you barely hear a few more words;

Luminosite Eternelle

..And another, warm, pure light appears to surround the land; the entire area is illuminated as a giant wall of light, a circular barrier appears to surround the Shinto. A golden light which will not let the evil pass; burning the many lesser monsters that were spreading out of the battlefield - and with it, a voice thunders through the area, magnified a thousandfold.

"I am Jeanne d'Arc, Servant Lancer of this War, and I have a message for everybody who could hear me.

"If this monstrosity isn't stopped in time, I will have to repeat the final act of my life, to light the fire and burn again - and as I burn, a divine fire unlike any other will ignite. Catalyzed from my meager sacrifice by the Almighty who guides me.

"This city will burn, the Grail Will burn, and everything related to this place will be erased from history.

"I ask of you, to stand strong, and weather this storm. Everybody capable of fighting - please, come and face this challenge, or meet the ultimate end.

"This isn't the time for small conflicts. Those of you who see this as opportunity to gain an advantage, to defeat your enemies, to fight one another while the greater enemy threats to swallow us all - cease this foolishness.

Or you'll be cleansed by the holy flame."
I looked into my mothers eyes...
For a second, nothing happens, as Irisviel holds the card in her hands, unsure of what to do.

Then, the cards starts glowing, brighter and brighter, until whole figure of the Grail Vessel is enveloped with blinding light, too bright for human to look at.

Saber grasps her swords tighter, as the transformation ends and the result appear before you.

An entirely different figure than the white-clad Grail Vessel appears as the light fades; a long, hooded figure stands before you, hardly recognizable as Irisviel Einzbern.

In fact, she looks nothing like the innocent and somewhat child-like white princess. The intimidating witch with an ominous aura has taken her place...

It looked like Medea of the Colchis herself has been summoned into this world once again.

That mirage is quickly dispelled, however as the familiar voice speaks in a wonder.

"Manifesting Heroic Spirits through the body of another... This magecraft is nothing short of miraculous."

"Irisviel? Is that you?" Saber asks in wonder, and the robed figure laughs - it's familiar, a light and non-threatening laugh, which you heard many times in the past, back then when you were a child. Or, at least, even more of a child than you are now.

"Yes. Yes I am. This magecraft is something Incredible, Saber - I never imagined something like this to be even possible." Irisviels comments as she reaches her hands and takes the intimidating hood off, revealing the familiar face of your mother under it. "I am ready. Let's go."

***

A few moments later, you mount the pegasi and with a hurricane-like flap of wings, you fly. The robe-clad woman flying nearly. While her flight spell is not enough to rival the speed of the Pegasus, she could essentially tie herself to it.

As you fly, Saber asks for permission to use a phantasms of hers to increase the speed, and once it's granted - a silver armor manifests on a Pegasus' armor, and the air resistance around it vanishes. In fact, the air seems to be move with you, accelerating your speed to the heights unthinkable of. You will arrive to the site of battle in nothing but moments.

As you fly, you see another worrying sign on you way.

A thundercloud - no, not a thundercloud. A entire, uncountable titanic murder of birds, surrounding something, as lighting and thunder flashes time and again from inside. Incinerating thousands, opening titanic gaps in which a small silhouette of a chariot could be seen - but not enough to destroy the murder.

This lasts for a few seconds - but then, space twists, and the space vanishes.

"This is a Reality Marble." Irisviel notes, worriedly, her voice clear, despite the wind and distance. "Somebody decided to break the rules of the Grail War and fight the other participants during the emergency..."

And then space rips again, the image of a endless desert and an army clashing with a darkened sky appears, mixing, twisting endlessly incomprehensible, and painful to look at.

"Another one?! This is extremely rare; to see two realities clashing." Irisviel comments. Her tone despite the worry within it, could almost be called excited "Whoever created these, must be extremely powerful. It's surprising to see this many Servants in this war with such ability. Or... Wait, the second Reality Marble is somehow familiar... Isn't that-"

But before she could finish, a great voice thunders through the sky.

...and then the silence reigns again. A few seconds later, the space-ripping gap in the world vanish. The image of the eternal desert establishing itself firmly, as the dark sky recedes - and then it collapses on itself, as a lone, distant figure of a Chariot continues to fly in the same direction you are.

"Too abrupt to be a simple victory." Irisviel comments again "It seems more like one of the opponents decided to retreat. Not quite sure if it's because of... that" she says, referring to the thundering voice "Or because of the enormous prana requirements such a clash will enable. Most likely the second... The Dead Apostle Ancestors are unlikely to care about this city - nothing important besides the Grail ishere and there is no way Church will let one participate; they are more likely to destroy the Grail than let a vampire activate it. What are they even doing here?"

@Silvan Eldar

"Perdone mei, senorita." The priest answers. "I meant no slight upon your skills."

Mentally, he does some quick calculations, and his face darkens beneath the mask.

"It seems that the story of your life must indeed be an interesting one. I would be pleased to hear it some time."

Although once I have discerned what lunatics would pit an eight your old child against a beast like this...

"Hmmm." The priest says out loud. Instincts forged in a thousand battles are leading him inescapably to certain conclusions about this fight. They were barely holding back one giant demonic beast, and now there are two. And the way the newest one swallows up everything it touches, and the way it barrels inexorably after them at a rapidly increasing pace...he waves a hand of thanks to the unseen allies, still thinking.

It isn't his own death he fears, rather, to fall and leave the city defenseless before the devils...it is not even to be considered. On to more productive lines of thought!

The larger beast summoned the other, and set it on them. Many conjured creatures will be set on a single target, and pursue it with obsessive focus. If this one is targeting him, if he can draw it off and let the others focus on the original creature...

What!

Hidalgo's thoughts run wildly in all directions. The Lancer he is to protect...it is the Maid of Orleans, somehow resurrected?

If they fail in this fight the city will burn?

The holy warrior is torn. On the one hand, he can see it...men, women, and children, reduced to charred meat and ash in an instant...and this slaughter will be done in the name of God?

And yet.

Yet, to allow these creatures to rage unchecked, to desecrate and defile, to deal death in ways that will make incineration seem merciful....

He inhales. Exhales deeply, and sets his shoulders. If the consequences of failure are too high, he simply will not allow himself to fail.

Oh Lord of Hosts, you are unrivaled in wrath...yet also in justice and mercy. You do not punish the father for the sins of his son, nor the son for the sin of the father.

You withdrew the plague from Israel when David humbled his pride and repented, you spared the people of Ninevah when they turned their hearts to you, and you swore to Lot that even Sodom and Gomorrah should not be overthrown if but ten righteous souls could be found within their walls.

Stay your hand yet, O Lord. If it be your will, let this city live. Strengthen our hands, steel our hearts, let us prevail.

Amen.

"Hold on!" He calls to the girl behind him, and then he makes another blindingly fast change in direction.

Time to see if his theory about the Living Hotel is correct.

The hotel... just turned into a giant flesh golem centipede that absorbs things it touches. What.

'Caster couldn't have possibly done this on his own. There's another player involved, someone else foreign to this timeline. But who?'

I can't think of anyone, really. My current experience has been that whatever these people are, these 'foreigners to the timeline', have all been Nasu characters. Me. Gransurg. Archer. So, with that in mind, the most likely source of this extra power is also from Nasu. But what could it be? Another Ancestor, perhaps? If so, things are worse than I thought.

Still. Keep fighting.

Oh no. Oh no no no no. This can't... this is the single worst possible thing that can happen. Literally. Due to the way Alaya works, there is no functional way to escalate beyond this point. Anything that tries receives the same sanction of inescapable death.

And I'm at ground zero.

We need overwhelming, absolute, firepower above all else to handle Caster. The only other option I could think of would be to tear my way into that disgusting mass and kill him at its center.

-But that's insane. I have no way of easily locating, and it's regenerative capacity means that any 'tunnel' made in that manner would heal up fast. It's a psychotic plan that would rely on the person trying it being too insane to not only see that it was impossible, but also a bad idea. But if there are no other options, I'll have to do it. I suppose I am the person who is that insane. I wonder if Archer has some sort of weapon that would prevent regeneration that I would be able to use? Could be helpful.

...Hopefully the Saber of this war is Arturia or the male version of her.

Or you'll be cleansed by the holy flame."

Nothing I didn't already know. Except, Jeanne d'Arc is Lancer in this war. That's different. Otherwise, that was all just a metaphor for what I can already feel happening. The Counter Force is starting up.

...Oh shit, Jeanne d'Arc is the Lancer of this war and just announced that to the world when the enemy is Gilles de Rais. Somehow, I think we know where he's going to focus his attack now.

So. What else can I do? The tower is too large for me to take out, but the flesh golem...

From my understanding, it's using the hotel as a skeleton and absorbing the any organic material it comes into contact with, adding that to its biological mass. Sort of like Caster's normal method of using the flesh of the living and the dead as summoning terminals for his monsters. The best way to deal with that would be to shatter its foundation. The best way to go about that...

Fire is doing something, but it'll take a while for that thing to run out of energy, simply based on sheer mass. In addition, if it has an extra supply of prana, it would be able to regenerate indefinitely from anything not immediately fatal. So, I keep the fire piling on to that thing, keep it burning, but now...

It's time to add another hit.

'You took the form of a bug. It's only natural that you get squashed.'

Firstly, making sure there's nothing immediately above the centipede hotel monster. With the path clear, I enforce my will deeper. Another imagined natural phenomenon comes into play. I'm starting to feel the strain of this, and lean over slightly while convinc ght eWorld to follow my imagination.

Rocks. Several rocks. Sure it's only three, but they're all really big rocks. While they're not nearly the same size in terms of volume as the centipede hotel flesh golem, rocks are a great deal denser than buildings. Each is about the same in terms of mass as the building the monster has as a basic structure.

And they fall. One should land on what passes as the head, the other two down the length of the body. If this doesn't stop it, nothing will.

'This thing is the distraction. Another punching bag to split attention from the primary body.'

Thus, it has to go.

"Regardless of their motives, we must focus on the task at hand. Casters abomination ravages the city as we speak." I cut through the musing with harsh urgency. Dealing with the situation is more important than wondering about Dead Apostles and their presence here. A matter for another time most assuredly.

Attacking it from above would be the optimal solution. The rate at which this tree grew from sapling to the monstrous thing attacking the city would indicate that it has some form of regeneration, or at least has its growth accelerated by Casters magic. Complete annihilation from top to bottom will be our objectives.

But how to destroy it without damaging the city further? Surely, there must be a way to do such. Multiple uses of Excalibur will do it no problem if we attack from differing angles, perhaps attack the roots from street level while combining that with my attack from above, angling it so that the resultant cut travels out of the city before it rends the earth?

Yet wasn't there as previously pointed out, the Servants of this war seem to be similar to those in my own. I recognize that desert, and that chariot…

Yes, that could work!

"Illya!" I command, "Bring us to the Chariot over there!" I point towards the Chariot that the King of Conquerors rides, just in case Illya somehow missed it.

Combat Unit JSN-117 "Jason"
Mark XXX Bolo

The enemy continues to exponentially grow, but I finally gain physical vision of my allies and drones from the main hull. Signaling my presence with a shuttering of my forward strong lights, I continue to surge forward, before reaching physical communication distance of the man and what appears to be the smaller woman riding with him.

"Do not be alarmed, I am here as a friend in arms. You may simply call me Jason for now. The enemy is developing counter-measures for every attack employed against it and unless a counter is developed soon enough we may not have the actual means to permanently end this threat. See if you can go and find a weak point on the damned creature!"

Seeing him then ride away - it is possible he never heard my response, in fact - I find it slightly disconcerting that he already is acting without any further possible information he might provide, but the current battle does not permit me to worry about the matter further. I continue to re-align my fire, combing drone and Bolo firepower into a monstrous creature only matched by the most exotic of entities fought by my other Bolos in the service of the Concordiat. And arguably none of them can singularly demonstrate the sheer magnitude of a threat this creature poses.

"This isn't the time for small conflicts. Those of you who see this as opportunity to gain an advantage, to defeat your enemies, to fight one another while the greater enemy threats to swallow us all - cease this foolishness.

Or you'll be cleansed by the holy flame."
And now the battle's on a timer. My Hellbore has only just finished pre-activation sequence, and it will be another 4.18 minutes before the weapon is ready to fire. Damn!

Attempting to accelerate the arming process yields little in improving the time slot.

//D-117-JSN/C:/PRIMARYARMAMENTS/PRIMARY/FUSIONPLASMAGUNCALIBER110CM/
//STATUS: OFFLINE, TURNING ONLINE

And now the longest process of the arming sequence has begun. However, any ally that might perhaps remember before this all began of what my capabilities are must be made aware of my situation.

I fan out my drones that are not engaging the enemy immediately in my location, and sending much of my spare power into delivering the strongest receivable signal that is capable of being heard without issue, broadcast my situation.

"THIS IS BOLO COMBAT UNIT ONE-ONE-SEVEN-J-S-N, DESIGNATE 'JASON,' CURRENTLY ENGAGING THE ENEMY NEAR WHAT WAS PREVIOUSLY THE HYATT. HELLBORE IS OFFLINE, TO BE ACTIVE IN 3.92 MINUTES AND COUNTING. IF YOU CAN RECEIVE THIS MESSAGE OR HEAR IT FROM A DRONE, SIGNAL THE DRONE TO STAY NEARBY. I WILL KEEP THE SITUATION ON THE GROUND UPDATED."

I can only hope that the help I see in the distance will be enough to win the day.

"You don't need to ask for forgiveness, though I appreciate the courtesy." I replied evenly to the Priest as we rode away from the falling structure.

"If we live long enough I'll be glad to."

Then, you see a tank.
I suppose getting on the horse was the right decision, better to save the time stop for later.

And with that thought having passed through my head the fallen, flesh coated hotel began convulsing as more and more of the creatures were absorbed by the structure. Then it started moving towards us.

It was moving much faster than anything its size had any right to be moving at, but this was magic, regular logic and sense had no place in such matters. I considered throwing a few grenades at the creature, but decided against it, we were a bit to close for comfort and with the blast radius being as big as it was....well, I wasn't entirely confident enough in the horse's speed to get out of botched throw if I put a bit to much magic in, and given the complete ineffectiveness of firearms against the tree, I doubted they would be anymore useful here.

Even with the other servant's attacks the thing was still moving, and I doubted it would stay injured. perhaps if I stopped time we could get far enough away for me to effectively use my magically enhanced grenades without risking ourselves getting hit in the explosions...

"Hold on!" He calls to the girl behind him, and then he makes another blindingly fast change in direction.

Time to see if his theory about the Living Hotel is correct.
The sudden turn should have thrown any mundane human off the impossibly fast horse and smashed their body against the ground, almost certainly killing them. It was therefore a good thing that I was far from human, my grip on the horse tightening the moment begin to turn.

"Mr. Fuerza, if you seek to get some space between us and the abomination, I can keep it and everything else from moving for a short time. Unless you have other plans I'll probably be employing that particular technique in a few moments."

"Eh? Senorita...I am testing a theory of mine. The big devil...the first big devil, it has a, como se dicie, an axe to grind with me. I think perhaps it summons the second monster to slay me personally.

This is good, I can lead it on a chase and let the others focus on killing the first beast. If you can increase our speed then, let us gain some distance...is also possible it's just on a wild rampage and ignores us.

In which case I am circling round to have another go at the padre del diablos, but more speed towards it would be welcome as well."

I gave Alter a slight nod as I angled Pegasus towards the Chariot, I didn't really think as my mind was focused on our surroundings something in the back of my head urging me to shut out all distractions and concentrate on the here and now.
