To Save A Galaxy (SW:TOR/Evangelion Crossover)

OOC: Given the split vote, I just put the Mandalorians as a secondary objective

[X] Go to Jory
-[X] Find the two Mandalorians

"I'm heading to Jory's location", you snap to Mako as you spin around and begin sprinting through the crowded streets of Hutta. You could probably try and steal a speederbike from a passerby to make the trip quicker, but that might just alert the local authorities to your excursion. As you run, you quickly check your inventory. You have a fully charged blaster, your datapad and credits. Well, this is going to be an interesting fight. You scan the passersby as you run, giving as many people a quick glance as possible; none of them wear the telltale armor of the Mandalorian clans.

You skid around the main corner that leads to the Spaceport and Cantina, and suddenly your datapad erupts in a cacophony of noise. Mako is shouting something; Jory is screaming incoherently, and the sound of blasterfire echoes twofold from the speakers. "Mako? Jory?" you call into the receiver. No reply. At your current location, it's seven minutes sprinting to the Spaceport, and two minutes sprinting to the Cantina. Still no sign of the Mandalorians. I do not get paid enough for this, you think.

(Also if someone could roll, on any site, two 20-sided dice, one labeled "Mako" and one labeled "Jory")

...on the Mako front, good news!

On the Jory front, good lord that was atrocious. Gonna roll a dice myself here for some mysterious reason

Well he was supposed to be very badly injured when you arrived (if you decided to), but since you rolled a 1... you're going to need some Deus Ex GM for that.

[X] Get to the Cantina
-[X] Get to Mako

No one would blame you if you went back to the spaceport, booked the next shuttle back to Coruscant, and hid in the undercity for the next few months. Actually, that sounds like a really appealing idea compared to going against a Trandoshan and some Mandalorians. Unfortunately for you, you musn't run away- it's somewhere in the contract, under subsection M, paragraph ii... you shake your head at yourself for accepting stupid jobs like this for credits and run toward the Cantina.

You arrive in the midst of chaos. Red bursts of lasers are flying in every which direction as random patrons shoot at each other. Figures. One person starts a cantina brawl, and suddenly everyone else remembers they have a score to settle. You cast your gaze to the back of the room where you left Mako and Braden and see Mako kneeling behind an overturned table, which is being riddled by constant blasterfire. Your eyes trace the shots back to the source: a lone Mandalorian standing atop the bar counter with a blaster in each hand. His companion lies prone beneath some stools: the burns on his armor tell you he's already dead.

[X] Get under cover before the Mandalorian spots you and get an aim on him with your gun. Also, try not to get shot.

Will be locking this in 3 and a half hours, or 1500 PST. While this so far is a good strategy, there are some things that could be useful in the immediate aftermath.

[X] Get under cover before the Mandalorian spots you and get an aim on him with your gun. Also, try not to get shot.

You quickly roll toward the nearest cover, which is another overturned table. Thankfully you seem to be in a good enough shape that it goes off without a hitch. You place your back to the cool wood of the table and peer around the corner. The single Mandalorian is still up on the counter, firing shot after shot into Mako's table. Splinters fly in all directions with each shot; at this rate, there's not going to be much table left. You quietly draw your blaster and point it at the Mandalorian, who still has not noticed you. Inhale. Exhale. Center in on the target, and...

we don't have to kill him in one shot. a solid hit will throw him off, force him to split his attention and will leave him open for a follow up shot from us or Mako.

"I'll end this with my finishing move!" you shout as you flop onto your belly from out of cover. Thankfully, no one hears your embarrassing war cry or sees you leave cover. Your finger presses down on the trigger of your blaster, sending a hail of bolts toward the Mandalorian. The first of the barrage catches him in the side, and while it does nothing more than alert him toward your presence, the rest of the bolts slam into his chest as he turns to aim his blaster at you. The force of the shots carries him over the cantina counter and smashes him against the vaporator. You leave cover and walk over to him: there's scorch marks between the diamond of his chestplate and the other parts of the armor. A lucky shot must have slipped through and killed him.

"Shinji!" Mako shouts, also leaving her cover behind. "What're you doing here? I thought you were going to Jory!"

"Where's Braden?" you ask, holstering your blaster. Mako shakes her head and points toward the table. You can see the tips of his brown boots protruding from behind the splintered wood. The Mandalorians must've gotten him. "Mako, you stay here. I'm going to see if I can help Jory out."

"No way! If you're going after the bastards that killed Braden, I want in, and you'll have to ship me out to Ilum to stop me! Yes, I know it's dangerous, but I've got a blaster, too. And I can work my way around with kolto like it's nobody's business. So, let's go."

You sigh. It looks like there's going to be no convincing Mako otherwise. Time to go see if there's anything you can do for Jory.
