To Pay The Tithe - A Warhammer 40k Quest

Fort Hulm Garrison Duty - 07.005.M42 - Guiding Fate
In the aftermath of the battle there is much to be done. Casualties must be counted. The dying and injured must be transported. Entire levels of the complex must be swept over meticulously to ensure no heretical elements remain. Much of Complex Seven will be put to the torch to cleanse it of taint as priests mark off entire sections to be met with flamer and pick. Juggling all of this with securing and exploring the tunnel system dug by the traitor guardsmen will be a grueling endeavor, but it must be done.

Under Lord Governor Xander's command the 122nd and the First have little chance for rest... Not that either would ask for it as they begin to throw themselves into their work with something close to glee. However, as the orders are given and the work begins the threads of fate begin to twist and turn under your guidance...

Events that could be.

Events that never should have been.

There is a twelve hour moratorium on voting!

What fate awaits the 122nd? (You have 5 Fate to spend)
[] The Soaring Firebrand -
(2) In the days that follow the battle a figure begins to rise like a new star among the 122nd. Squire Kali, bearing proof of nine foes slain, and with a Knight to speak for her rises first to the title of First Vale. Newly ascended to Knighthood she turns to one among the witnesses and demands a duel. All witnesses are stunned as she nearly dismantles the far more experienced Knight to claim her place among the Second Vales...

And then she turns to the watching figure of the Seventh with fire in her eyes. A Trial is demanded. A Trial is granted. Bloody and hanging on by a thread she emerges from it. Victorious. All welcome Knight of the Third Vale, Kali. Already her legend is being penned in the Hermit's tomes. Even now her tale is being added to banners of the 122nd. Driven by her rise the Squires begin to dream for they know now it is possible.

[] Renewed Hope - (2) A name begins to join the war cries of the heretics the 122nd encounters. "For Lord Nil!" they cry out as outnumbered and outgunned groups cling desperately to their Holdfasts, traitors turned unbreakable zealots over night. Left in the dark about how or why this change came about all the 122nd can do is fight on meeting zealotry with blade and mandible.

[] Theft or Advancement? - (2) Bloodforging. A process considered sacred to the Valesmiths. An act akin to worship to the warriors of Caledonia. For centuries it has been something closely guarded with details passed down from master to apprentice as any tome describing the methods are stored in the deepest, most secure vaults of the Hermitages. So... One should understand why when reports begin to come in of Valesmiths clashing with the Mechanicus.

Not arguments or disagreements. They meet them with hammers in hand. Servitors are turned to scrap under their fury. Smith and Enginseer alike are hospitalized under Medicae care. Tensions are akin to a keg of powder ready to light.

Oleg has stolen the methods of Bloodforging from them and even now claims it is 'For the good of the unenlightened. It can be made better.'

[] A Few More Years - (1) Many among the Hermitage of the 122nd are in their twilight years and have merely journeyed with the regiment in an effort to help guide the younger Hermits. However, among the rewards the Planetary Governor hands out for the recapture of Complex Seven are a limited run of Rejuvenat treatments that will buy them years at the least. Keeping such fonts of wisdom and knowledge close at hand is deeply valuable but likely to mire the Hermitage in much stricter traditions.

[] Cavalry to Cavalry - (1) In the aftermath the Ulric First and the 122nd start to form a fairly close relationship, beyond merely standard comradery it is a growing respect for each other born from being one cavalryman to another. While comparing a steed of mandibles and chitin to one of grav-plates and flaming jets might leave little in common the experiences of charging headlong into the heart of the enemy never will. Each week brings yet more sights of members of both sitting side by side nursing whatever drinks they can get their hands on.

[] Peaceful Days - (1) The months that follow the capture of Fortress Complex Seven are remarkably peaceful ones filled with only the lightest of skirmishes even as the 122nd push ever deeper into the expansive tunnel networks dug out beneath the planet's surface. While this has meant few casualties for the enemy it has also meant few for the 122nd and time to train. Drills are started up again. Classes are renewed. Strange and unfamiliar as they are the equipment provided by the Munitorum will revolutionize Caledonian warfare if they can but accept it.

[] Overwhelming Resistance - (1) The months that follow the capture of Fortress Complex Seven are harrowing with mounting casualties for all involved as the traitor tunnel network is taken inch by inch. Every step forward is paid for in blood as the tunnels below become a meatgrinder. Whatever forces the heretics have accumulated are likely focused here as they prepare for some great plan...

[] Heart of the Battle - (1) Fortress Complex Seven as the heart of the conflict between loyalist and turncoat forces is an open maw in desperate need for bodies. It is a good thing then that the Planetary Governor soon has another regiment deployed to aid in operations penetrating the tunnel networks below. Clad in flak and gas masks they enter into the networks below with only a few warnings to allies to stay outside of their operating zones.

Curious Caledonians and Ulricans who wander close to their operations often see clouds of green gas and burning corpses in their wake. A few even need emergency Medicae trips after wandering directly into them.

[] Radiant Flame - (1) As a fortress world crucial to the Imperium and a supply point for the ever voracious Indomitus Crusade the Ecclesiarchy has paid special attention to the faith of its people. While this in the end failed they have other means by which to right the lapse of faith. Clad in slabs of ceramite adorned in gold and black, the Sisters arrive in muted silence and in the days that follow their arrival the sounds of the enemy being devoured by in gold and red flame echo through the tunnels below.

QM Notes: None of these choices are purely beneficial or purely harmful. The bolded number next to each option is the price in Fate to take it. You do not have to spend all Fate you have, but at least one option from above must be taken.
