Tip of the Spear

[X] Fire
-[X] Your Rifle

We are a gunman, yes? Let's gun!

Oookay. Reworked a little bit there, and changed how the votes work. You have two actions, taken in the order you vote for. You can vote for the same action twice. Please, vote. I need votes to update. ^_^;;

Summary for those who don't want to try to navigate rolz. The monster hit the other 6 men at the other entrance, killed 4, mission killed one, while the other living man is fleeing in a blind panic, in exchange for losing 52% of it's health. 17% was due to the heroic XO who pulled a grenade while he was being eaten alive, and 14% was a GM offering due to me messing something up in the mechanics, allocated at the time of the explosion. 13% was the only gunfire to by-and-large pierce the thing's natural armour, mostly through luck.

I have the sneaking suspicion that it may be faster than us.

I like this. Feels like a standard sequence I would use in a FPS.

But I still wish we could give it first aid. I mean, we gotta get started on the shipping eventually. Might as well begin now. :D

Tie Broken: Throw Grenade + Fire! wins.

You act on instinct and immediately reach for a grenade. You have just enough time to get it into your hands when you realize that the thing had already left the landing in a leap that would end in your untimely death. For a moment, time seems to stand still, and you could clearly see the thing's eyes. Thus you noticed as it's gaze drifted down to the grenade, and recognize fear enter it's eyes. It wildly strikes out at the wall to change course, and lands in a heap next to you.

You blink at it, mere feet from you, before training kicks in and you raise your gun and fire. In a flash, the monster was back on it's feet and barreling through the door leading outside. You only manage to wing it as it fled, with your grip made awkward due to the grenade you still held.

Your ears ring from firing your rifle in an enclosed space, but you still hear gunshots ring out, and another roar. You don't have any time to even think as the monster clumsily comes back into view as bullets pepper the entrance.

"Visual Contact, Entrance B!" crackles over your radio.

It's trapped, with you at the bottom of the stairs, the perimeter team outside, and your team just beyond the door leading into the office. It had surprise on it's side before, but now everyone knew where it was. Unless it got by you.

Pick Two Actions. Will be Taken in the order picked.

Aww, why can't we just keep throwing grenades? Should have gone with the engie, who had a grenade launcher. I wanna cause more explosions. :(

Obviously, this entire mission is part of our Marksman job interview. Gotta show our skills to get that promotion!

I don't understand. From the update, it seems that we took out the grenade, but never detonated it.

Don't we still have it?

Also, the text of the update implies that it entered the building and is out of sight, while the options imply that we can see it. :s

You still have the grenade in hand, but you never had the chance to detonate it. By the time you could have pulled the pin it was leaping towards you. I'm not going to make the MC pull a heroic sacrifice unless you specifically vote for it. It wasn't a wasted action though, the monster is now afraid of grenades, and so avoided you rather than tried to kill you.

I see how the wording implies that now. It ran outside to get away from you and your grenade, but the perimeter team spotted it and opened fire. It then retreated out of sight from the perimeter team...placing it back in the room you are in. I made some minor word changes to hopefully make that more clear.

It's close enough to you that I gave you CQC options.

Ah, right, I got confused because I thought it was an external stairwell.
