Throne [Worm/Heaven's Lost Property]

Heaven's Lost Property's shenanigans will soon accrue. Prepare yourself Taylor for your life to soon get extra Ecchi.

Anything Taylor says in Ikaros's Hearing range will be followed to the letter. Regardless of how Absurd it is. If Taylor says to Kill the Endbringers, Ikarus will not just kill the Main 3 but the other 17+ Endys in storage.

Thank you thank you thank you!! I've been looking for Sora no Otoshimono fics for MONTHS! I hope you continue this fic and not leave it to rot (please don't)

Edit: Will Ikaros still get her watermelon?

Is she actually capable of that feat?

Ok, I am guessing she is from what has currently be dropped in story…

If that is true with the everything followed to the letter part:

"I want to be left alone!"
"Who is Coil"
"Could you solve world Hunger or something? I want to be alone"
"Can you please find Dinah and bring her to me?"
"Can you please ensure that Sophia and Emma and Madison are punished for their transgressions?"

Are all, for different reasons, great things you want to see happening :)

Considering Ikaros is Jibril (NGNL) lite, if she doesn't punt leviathan or get into humorous cat fights with Simurgh, I'll be immensely dissatisfaction and day ruined.

Or adopt Behemoth as a pet via brutally training her (cause reasons).

2 - Honour thy father
"Huh"

It felt surreal.

Her right hand seemed completely fine; just the same old pale skin over a bony frame, nothing special.

Then Taylor squinted her mind at it, and suddenly she could see the chain wrapped around it, leading to the pink girl - Ikaros.

She had no idea how or why she could squint her mind now, but that was that, and if the feathery cape pulled her out of that locker, she could prance about naked and she'd be fine with it, too.
The thought of curves like that outside the armor was- 'No! Bad Taylor! No perving on the unknow cape! For all you know she's insane!'

Part of her did wonder why like Ikaros would help her out - she was just another faceless teenager in a hellhole of a city where tens of thousands of others like her rotated through a shitty education system.

'And then there's this thing', she yanked the chain carefully. It tensed, shimmering in and out of existence. The action seemed to prompt the cherubic girl on the carpet.
"Master?"

Taylor waved her off, still mentally ignoring the appellation, now especially hard considering her previous errant thoughts.
"It's nothing. Would you like to sit on a chair? The carpet can't be that comfortable, can it?", she gestured to the chair by her desk.

Ikaros merely tilted her head sideways, the blank stare of hers seemingly asking what she meant.

'Does she only understand orders? She seemed fine doing what I told her before. Is she serious about the whole Master thing?'
She decided to run an experiment.

Taylor mustered up her most imperial voice, and commanded;
"Ikaros, I order you to stand up."

The fact she squeaked the last part of the command seemed immaterial to the girl, as she stood up gracefully.
"Yes, Master."

Taylor decided to push that part of her that squee'd at her obedience down and drown it in a shallow puddle - she wasn't a freak!

Experiment successful. Time for the next step...?

'I've got it!'
"Ikaros, can you use that card thingy from before for anything besides tea?"

Ikaros nodded, pulling out the card from her cleavage.
"Yes, Master. The Universal Transport Card can support unlimited use of the matter translation system, allowing use of multiple devices and systems of Synapse. If you require anything, you need simply ask."

'Anything, like, anything anything?' Her eyes wandered to the other girl's curves-
'STOP IT BRAIN! I need to get my mind out of the gutter- wait, what was that?'

"Ikaros," started Taylor; "You mentioned something called 'Synapse' - what is that?"

The girl's emerald eyes flashed a crimson red for a brief moment, then she replied.
"No data available on subject - 'Synapse'. It would seem that my data banks are incomplete."

'Right, hot angel robot with amnesia - at least it can't get weirder than that.'

At that particular moment, Taylor felt a chill creeping down her spine.
'Weird, that felt like someone was walking on my grave or something. Must be Sophia on her way to kick sick puppies or something.'

'Never mind the cunt; Back to experiments!'

"So, what if I said I wanted a million dollars?"

Ikaros nodded - "Yes, Master" - and the card poofed again.

The swirling particles resolved into the form of a very kitsch printer ('again with the wings, what gives?') and with a few button presses, it began to whir.

And spit out massive stacks of bills.

Taylor's mouth hung open as she saw the machine churn, her angelic guest tidying up the output as it went on and on. A brief 30 seconds and the machine ceased it's heinous craft.

"Task complete, Master - One million united states dollars, in the 100-dollar denomination."

The stack of colored paper stood there, menacingly, as it judged her crimes against the economy. The eyes of Benjamin Franklin were piercing into her soul.

Taylor started wheezing.

"Master? Are you unwell?"

The winged girl's voiced concern snapped her out of her panic attack.
"Take it back! Take it all back! NOW!"

Ikaros nodded, and both the ghost of depressions past and it's misbegotten spawn vanished into the card's hammerspace.

"Master?" the girl questioned; "Did you not request funds?"

Taylor heaved a sigh, a stone coming off her chest at the disappearing cash.
"Listen Ikaros; there's this thing called inflation - if we print more money, basically the money's worth less than it was before. That's why people work. Thank you, but please don't do that again, alright?"

"Understood, Master."

As Taylor felt a blunt sense of relief slowly wash over her, her brain starting to process the events of the last 24 hours, she sat down on her bed and threw her head back, her eyes closed.

'Maybe things are going to be alright, after all?'

Which was the moment her father burst through the door.

Naturally.

-W-W-W-

It took her five minutes to convince her dad she wasn't in danger, or abducted, or secretly a hologram robot or whatever his brain imagined that happened to her.
Listening to him swing from frightened babbling in regards to her safety, to berating her for not notifying him when she came back home, it began to sink into her consciousness.

'I could've died in there, alone, in all that filth - if Ikaros hadn't come to save me.'

It finally seemed that her dad's energy waned out, as the tension visibly left his body and his hands released her from the embrace she was stuck in for the last few minutes, when he turned his head and noticed the pink winged woman in the room.

Immediately, the metal bat he used to bust down her (admittedly old) door came back up;
"Who're you?! How'd you get in here?!"

She needed to talk him down before something went wrong.
"Dad, this is-" she was cut off.
"Stay back, Taylor - ANSWER ME! WHO SENT YOU!?"

The migraine building in her temple reached an uncomfortable crescendo, when her mind divined the answer out of the aether.

"Ikaros, Coffee - Black, one sugar, extra strong, please," she calmly stated.

Her father's eyes shifted to her in confusion, then darted in alarm as the feathered girl began moving.

"Right away, Master."

Her dad, of course, did not take this well.
"Hey, what are you doing? STOP RIGHT THERE! DON'T MOVE!"

Ikaros had already pulled out her card and fiddled with the now-familiar machine's interface, with the telltale 'ding' sound sounding off.

Taylor side-stepped her father, avoided his grasping arm, and took the mug from the other girl.
Turning to her father, she shoved the steaming vessel at his non-batting arm.

"Drink."

Her dad looked down at the mug, evidently confused, then took a sip on autopilot.

The next moment, Taylor swore to ask Ikaros to hit her head so she could forget, as her father made a distinctively uncomfortable moaning sound as he took in the black lava in near-desperation.
The look on his face as he noticed the empty cup in his hand was near-heartbreaking, but Ikaros had already handed her a second cup of the beverage, and she handed him the second fix.

As he finished his caffeine intake, her father sat down on her bed, his face a suspiciously serene glazed mask, like he was in a trance.

"Dad, this is Ikaros. Ikaros, this is my dad. Yesterday, bullies shoved me in a locker with a lot of nasty stuff and left me there to, well, rot, basically. Ikaros came around and got me out and back home."

Her dad's blank stare was replaced with confusion, then rage, then terror, then even more confusion.

"That's the short of it. Do you mind if she stayed with us for a while?"

"...Ok," her father answered numbly.

She didn't blame him much - she was the same all but 30 minute ago.

"Cool. Come, Ikaros - I'll show you the guest room and make you the bed."

"Yes, Master."

The two girls left, while Daniel Hebert, the head of hiring for the Dock Workers Union and the de-facto head of the union (the actual guy was on a honeymoon with his 20-years younger wife in the Bahamas) stared blankly at the bay-side window of his daughter's room.

"...I'm going to need to get a new door."

Author's note:

Been a busy week.

Lotsa shit happened, Lotsa shit gonna happen next week, and I needed some steam let loose.

Thus, you get another Throne chapter.

Not PERFECTLY happy with this, but it's a much-needed segue into more branching plot developments, so I'll take it.

Do the reader thing with the comments and stuff.

Just as a note, the million dollars appearing out of nowhere wouldn't even bounce the inflation needle. 1m sounds like a lot... but it's really not.

Also seems like an odd thought for her to have at the moment all things considered.

My thoughts exactly, though Taylor is a young lady yet, and as such she may not fully understand how little of an impact the amount she requested would have on the overall economy, because as a young girl growing up in a working class household, to her that much money seems an almost cosmically huge amount, whereas in the broader scheme of things we know it really wouldn't be.

My suggestion would have been simply to hide most of it in her room, taking out small bundles here and there discreetly.

At least now she knows she can literally print money if she needs to, so any unexpected expenses which come up can be dealt with relatively easily.

It's alright Taylor, bank heads just write in extra cash into existence with one signature every day.
And with Worm's crumbling economy the US probably creates new cash every year just to keep the government going.

That said the economy wouldn't notice but the Secret Service, the PRT and the Protectorate might, and I'm pretty sure one of the first laws for parahumans was to ban using any power to conjure money.

All in all better to use such power with discretion, lower denomination and used bills.

Depends on the magic, I suppose. Launder it into a business or something, or do as you suggest.

That, or go to Cauldron and open an account.

As others have pointed out, one million it's not going to cause any trouble with inflation, at all.

On the other hand, it's definitely either stealing or counterfeiting*, and actually using all that will nearly certainly attract the attention of the IRS, the Feds and a multitude of others.

No, if you are looking for that, better to find a way to get a highly fungible commodity and sell that. Or if you want to somewhat hide the magic card, use it to set up a business that will in turn both make and launder money for you. :p

* US Dollars are only legitimate if it's made by the treasury department when it gets ordered to do so and it follows all appropriate procedure. Otherwise it might be an absolutely perfect copy, but still just a copy. As such, money from thin air is either counterfeit or it was existing money taken from somewhere else, thus stealing.

Nah if i remember Right the Synapse is above the average hax so that money should be Real on every way it count

No, quite literally, not possible. It's not about any inherent property of the matter involved, but about who makes it, and it having been duly ordered by the government.

And if the hax does go for changing reality to the point of making the government follow the procedures to order it being printed by the right department, then we still end with the "and how it got to Taylor", which likely got stolen.

And if we are going for the "completely rewrite reality so that it's real money that has a perfectly legal route from source to Taylor, well, either Ikaros has to have legitimate access to an already existing account to withdraw that money from or she wrote reality so completely that Taylor would always have had access to that money, and at that level of power there ceases to be any meaningful conflict with the story (plus the argument change to the ethics of completely rewriting reality or not, and if that counts as genociding the previous reality and recreating the new version or not :p ).

I know that the original source did write the card off in very short order after it got introduced, because it went with the silly crack-ish extreme views of its power, but I feel that's something of a waste. By limiting it to less absurd levels of power it could be kept being used within the limitations the author defines instead of being an inherent story-breaker.

Danny can actually probably pretty easily help her launder it, which covers them from the IRS. It's just that Think Tank will probably still find and hammer them for it...depending on mechanics and anti-Thinker properties and so on.

Why did Danny bust down the door though? For all he knew, she just had a friend over?
Anime logic.

It's crack, not 'proper' fan-fiction.

If you want to hear my cop-out, his daughter was missing for most of the night, and magically appeared in the morning.

In brockton bay.

He's sleep-deprived, panicked, and you also have to remember that danny doesn't necessarily have all the marbles in the bag, considering two years of crippling grief.

Without spoiling much, I'll refer you to the source material, because my reply to your comment has two parts; episode 1 of the original series, and the finale for both the anime and the manga.

If Tinkers are bullshit, then Synapse looks at them and says "Fuck you, *unomnicides your interdimensional space whale*"

I actually feel I'm being considerably subtle here, with a master-1 rated cup of coffee and the inflation-o-matic.

There will be plenty BS to come, so I heartily suggest turning of le brain.

I actually found amazing how the crack goes up slowly before they dial it up to 11 after the reveal
