The fun comes from seeing butterfly effects of a seemingly minor change dramatically changing canon. Too much and it becomes a mega crossover category... not very likely to be interesting or well done.

I still think eating a corpse in full view of the protectorate is a very bad idea.

Hijiri would have been...interesting contrast to Valefor, at least. But alas, this is a silly direction; lets not go that way. Actually, in five seconds of thought that is excellent reason to go that way.

But then there are the following difficulties and Okuu is no longer a snowflake/stone thrown into a pond... Plus if they are brought in en masse there comes question of "who is bringing these youkai in"?

Drat, this is really conflicting decision. You could say that I am tied on this issue.

A major thing about touhou characters is that they are factionized more often than not. So, they'd be in a void, bereft of familiar faces until they meet them.

I'd think the major disadvantage is that Okuu may not baffle everyone in person, and keeping track of waves they create from meta perspective though.

For advantage, though... Unlikely allies is one, taking heat off Okuu is another.

As far as specific characters go, Hijiri would be ...interesting.

Man, this vote didn't go like I expected for sure.

If the more characters one wins, lets hope we don't get someone who gets depressed when lonely.

Ultimately, the characters I want...Cirno isn't it. But this is who I'd like to see.
 
Carrying on a quest with the focus of the voting public on even one character still is difficult enough that more than 90% of quests go unfinished.

Bringing in more characters may sound fun in the short run, but the more characters there are, the more difficult it will get for the quest master to maintain interest. Each character added is an order of magnitude more work to keep things unique and interesting by the QM. In the end, we'll be left with stale rehashes of stereotypes and characterizations that we won't agree with.

Lets keep things interesting and allow the QM to expend his creativity on a well-developed interaction between one unique character in a new setting, rather than forcing her to divide her attention across hundreds of threads.

I just want one quest I've had a chance to participate in, to eventually end in a satisfying conclusion.

Because anything other then Okuu X Orin X Satorin is heresy.
