This is the End [Apocalypse Survival, Permadeath]

[X] Back is the way forward – Go back to where you came from. Act against the group panic and try to run outwards. If you manage this, you will be in the outskirts of the city. Your survival rate in this early stage of the Apocalypse might rise there, but the way to get there will be hard. (Permadeath-DC 30)

[X] Back is the way forward
Indeed, though we should receive some extra modifiers, such as - to things like getting injured, or + to things like fighting with an armed weapon/wearing protective gear to increase our chances. Don't really like the fact that we're pretty much relying on a single fucking dice with no backup to save our arse, just saying...

[x] Push forward, use a scapegoat – You have not come as far as you have to now turn around. There is someone you need to protect now. Wait for the larger groups to catch up to your position and let them be bait for the group of demon spawn. As soon as you see an opening, you will run through it and let the others behind to die. You can do this. (Permadeath-DC 60 You see a way to survive this by sacrificing your fellow human beings. No DC)

I don't know why you guys are so eager to see a perma death. This is an easy vote considering that.

It's called having some Humanity and not being an outright piece of shit, sure the world sucks but that doesn't mean we have to make it worse.
Unless of course this is a Scumbag% Speedrun, in which case we already failed by saving the girl.

...there seems to be an assumption that not inserting yourself between a doomed person and their doom is something that makes you a scumbag.

I would point out that we have already left people to die as we dodged their grasping arms while they were pleading for help from inside their cars.

Spreading yourself too thin by trying to help everyone risks pointless death and abandoning those that you reasonably could have helped.

Not saying that this is the case here, since there is an argument to be made about strength in numbers (though numbers alone are only good for presenting juicier targets), but it's something that is useful to keep in mind going forward.

Edit: if the mechanics remain the way they are, then avoiding rolls by making human sacrifices compromises would be generally pointless, as there would always be a next roll eventually, and there is only so much you can compromise on. Still, if our character were to die, I'd like the cause to be a better one than "an idealism incompatible with living".

If I'm seeing it right, then the following option won:
[ ] Back is the way forward

Good, then. Let's see if you survive again or if this decision comes to bite you guys.

Roll #Escaping the City, 1d100, Permadeath-DC 30.

Roll attempt
Solarstream threw 1 100-faced dice. Reason: Do we embrace death? Total: 22
22 22
