The Young Eagle - A Napoleon Quest

I think you all are ignoring the most interesting option.
[X] Mazzerisme/Shamanism: Despite your Tuscan noble roots, you spent a lot of time with the rural people of Corsica in your youth, and began to hear talk of the Mazzeri, shamanistic figures reputed to be able to travel through dreams to the ethereal realm, maintaining spiritual balance through the slaughter of beasts. You believe in this shamanistic worldview, descended from ancient paganism, to this day.

Also
[X] Orthodox: contact with the greeks of Corsica have lead you to believe in their religion.

That said, out of the options likely to win...
[X] Catholic: You were raised on an island of Catholics and educated by monks - being a Catholic was never a question for you. You believe that God the father sent his son to die for humanity's sins, and that the Catholic Church is the rightful intercessor between the divine and the faithful on Earth, even when you might have disagreements with how the church is run.

Irreligious is in the lead by a margin... but that can be changed, cmon guys! Let's add spice to this quest; vote for the fun options!

How would you call the option 'can't prove or disprove that God exist or doesn't exist. But if there is one I hope he is actually an all loving one that doesn't care if you believe in him or not and isn't going to help me kill people from another nation and vice versa'. It doesn't exactly feel like irrelegious it's more whether god exist or not shouldn't be a reason to kill each other. That he doubt an all powerful being cares that much about a specific way of having sex or praying or even if you pray, but unlike deisme doesn't think the world prove the existence of god what if existing didn't necessitate the existence of a god.

Edit: isn't against religion or believe that it's automatically evil but sees that it can be used to opress to force your own viewpoint.

[X] Muslim: Through encounters with Moslem traders on Corsica, you've come into contact with the quran and hadiths, and have come to believe that there is no god but God, and Mohammad is His prophet. You might be Shia or Sunni, or from a different school entirely.

Lurked here for awhile, but since it seems active once again, sure! I'll participate on the most Revolutionary and Republican things possible, and vote!

On another note. It's good the civil war ended about as quickly as it began. Was starting to worry that the Revolution was shooting itself in the foot so many times that it would legitimately defeat itself there for a second... Damn shame we're gonna need to chase the Austrians out of the lowlands a second time, though.
Glad to have you here :)

Yes, it was a pretty near run thing. I was brainstorming what this quest was even going to be about if the revolution failed, for a bit there.

I have to say, reading about Mazzeri made me regret having chosen not to include supernatural elements in this, because Mazzeri dreamwalking sounds awesome.

I'd say that falls somewhere within the bounds of agnosticism, imo.

Likewise. Would've been interesting trying to survive a resurgent Ancien Regime since Napoleon is, by now, associated with the fellow who beheaded the last King. The association with Robespierre is extremely useful... Right up until it becomes a death sentence. Lol

Would be a fun choice to go with.

[X] Protestant: Protestantism has a small presence on Corsica and France, but in your brief encounters with protestants, the concept that the Catholic Church needs to be reformed and overturned lit a fire in your revolutionary soul. You believe in a grace-based relationship with the Christian god, though the specific doctrines can differ greatly from group to group

[X] Irreligious: You have too much to handle to bother debating spiritual matters. You'll leave religion for the priests. You're not necessarily an atheist or agnostic - you just don't really care either way.

[X] Deist: Like many enlightened figures of your day, you believe in the principal concept of Deism - that the existence of a divine creator is self-evident when the world is observed through the lens of reason. God, or the supreme being, keeps a distance from the affairs of the world, and has endowed humanity with free-will and reason, so that they might pursue truth. You believe in a higher power that may or may not be a God.

Catholic would by my preference since the potential of a good relationship with Spain after recent events is very interesting. But Napoleon having religion take a backseat to his ambitions would be fairly in-character as well.

[X] Atheist/Agnostic: You strongly doubt the existence of a divine being.

If Catholic won, what kind of Catholic Napoleon will be? Jesuit? Benedictine?
Well, those are orders of monks, and Napoleon definitely isn't a monk. He might subscribe to some sort of Gallicanism, but that's just me speculating.

I'll admit, I'm kind of tempted to make a write-in vote for Judaism, since the historical Napoleon definitely had some sympathies for the Jews, judging by his willingness to sign off on their legal emancipation. But I don't think it's very likely to win, and I'm not sure the narrative consequences would be very interesting. So put me down for:
