The Wondrous Weaving of Wizardry

Just so we can keep track, which of his batteries are dead now and which were recaptured by the PRT that he's about to go recover?
The dead ones are Bakuda, Coil, Regent, Grue, Bitch, Skidmark and Squealer

He is planning to grab Lung and any of the Empire still in the base (Kaiser, Krieg etc.) he assumes that the useful or less important Empire members have been shipped out already

Chapter 24
Standing up, I strolled over to where my simulacrum was working. They had conjured the underwear and were now working on enchanting it.

Leaning on the wall, I asked, "How long do you think it'll take you to finish."

3.0 replied without taking his focus off the underwear. "It's going to take around five to sixish hours. That new perk helped a ton."

Nodding, I walked back out. I needed to amuse myself for the next six hours. As I was pacing on the ship, my mind drifted back to what I needed to get to the NeverNever.

I needed a teleportation method, and that was Oni Lee. I needed a way to locate a safe landing point and a way to leave.

The exit point was going to be hard to make, depending on where I ended up. If it was deep in the NeverNever, it could be hard to punch a hole; I also didn't have any powers that directly helped me with travel like this.

I needed something that could anchor me to another world. I did have my original clothes, so those could possibly work.

Shaking my head, I decided to start working on the locater. A compass would work, but I decided to make one instead of buying one.

Scooping up a tiny bit of the Dust and held it in the palm of my hand. Focusing on a compass, I pushed the ideas towards the Dust.

A compass stayed on point; it directed and pointed north no matter what. I was based on the very Earth itself and would never go wrong.

As I focused, the Dust started to swirl in my hand slowly as if being printed and transformed into a perfect compass.

Grinning, I flipped the compass over and checked it for imperfections. It was perfect, not a mark or scratch, as if it had just been made.

My next step was to enchant the compass, this would be much harder than simple enchantments, and I would need to lean on Master Craftsman for it to work.

That meant I needed tools, luckily, I had enchanted a forge and tools before getting raided, so my next step was to move them.

Pulling myself into Castle Brunestud, I saw that the bodies were gone leaving only bone behind. I scowled; we were not barbarians, leaving our scrap lying about.

Scowling, I cupped my hands around my mouth and shouted. "Spirit!"

A few moments later, the figure floated over while gnawing on a bone. I pointed at the bones lying about and asked it. "What are these?"

Shrugging, he replied. "Bones, duh."

Gritting my teeth, I shot back. "I know that! I want you to clean up the bones; I don't care if you stack them in your room. They are not to be where people can see them, understood?"

Face-changing into a scowl, it nodded while grumbling. It scooped up the bones and started walking back to the house.

Rolling my eyes, I walked over to the forge and tools I had enchanted and pulled them out of Castle Brunestud. I appeared back in the real world with a clang.

Placing the tools inside the cooled forge, I picked it up. Walking toward the outside of the boat, I twisted the entrance for my house and soon was walking along the summer path.

It took a few trips and around thirty minutes, but I soon had a small forge I could work at without disrupting the house.

Reaching out, I touched the top of the forge and pushed a smidge of mana into it, causing it to roar to life. Collecting the compass and the bag of Dust, I needed to figure out how to actually make the Wayfinder.

As I paced back and forth, I let thoughts bubble up. Emerald could help. I knew that it had meaning, from intuition to clairvoyance. Silver could also be used to build the frame, as it was an excellent magical metal.

Pulling out more Dust, I conjured a bar of silver and an emerald. This, unfortunately, left me down to just a pinch of Dust. Bringing the forge hotter, I tossed the metal in.

Heating the silver, I soon pulled it out and started to shape it into a frame that could hold a compass and gem. The compass began to heat up as I was working, so I started to pull mana from it to cool it down.

I then pulled the emerald out and fitted it just on top of the compass and in the silver cage that could fit in my hand.

Conjuring a few words to hold the Wayfinder, I dunked it into the quenching water to let it cool. Pulling it out, I had a wonderfully crafted item.

It was a little larger than a compass. In the middle was a compass needle pointing north. Surrounding the compass was a thin lattice of silver that held a perfectly crafted emerald that shone with an inner light.

The process had taken around an hour, and had I been human; I would have been drenched with sweat. The last step was to attune it to my soul, allowing it to track the NeverNever. Holding the Wayfinder to my chest, I closed my eyes and focused on the emerald.

Pulling a metaphorical strand from the Wayfinder, I searched for my soul. Frowning as I didn't find it, I remembered it was in the soul pen.

Pulling the strand towards the pen, I pushed it towards the gem at the end of the pen. The strand slammed into it and bounced off, disrupting my concentration.

Opening my eyes, I walked inside. This would clearly take more time than I had anticipated. As I sat down, my Grimore's power grew once again.

The power bubbled up inside of me before fading away. As I turned back to the Wayfinder, I found that it was farther away than it was a few seconds ago.

As I looked down, I saw that I was floating. Blinking, I told my body to set back down, and it did. The flight was useful but not really needed when I had tele-underwear.

Keeping myself firmly parked in the chair, I pulled a strand from the Wayfinder again. I couldn't connect it to my soul, so maybe magic circuits might work.

From what I vaguely remember, magic circuits were spiritual nerves connected to the soul to grab mana. For some reason, the Clocktower didn't cover what exactly magic circuits were.

As I threaded the strand into my body, I soon found a pulsing mass that was coiled around my ribs. Connecting the strand to my magic circuits, I felt an immediate tug as I opened my eyes again.

I now had a safe way to access the NeverNever. I just needed the method to get into it. Speaking of access, I started to walk back towards the ship.

As I walked back, I twisted the path so that I would arrive inside the ship. As I reached the boat, I saw my simulacrum hard at work. Checking my inner time, I saw that it had only been a few hours.

I had around fourish hours to burn. This was strange. I usually always had something to do since arriving on Earth Bet this sudden free time was weird.

The first thing would be improving my resistance; I could already deal truck loads of damage, whether Broken Phantasms or White Magic, but a solid hit would still put me down.

Pulling out my adventure card, I sucked a breath in through my teeth, causing 4.0 to look up at me and raise a metaphorical eyebrow.

"Uh, other me, your know your flying, right? What was that noise for anyway?"

Looking down, I saw that my walk had turned into a glide where I was floating a few inches off the ground. Growling, I landed before replying to 4.0.

"I leveled up a little over a dozen times which means that Colin is most likely six feet under"

The other me looked up and winced. 3.0 spoke first. "That's not good," 4.0 piped up. "With Colin dead, Dragon won't get her boyfriend," 3.0 scowled at him before continuing. "That also means Dragon will remain in the hands of Saint."

Raising my hand to calm everybody down, I responded. "Firstly, get back to work. Second I think we just nab Colin's body and make a simulacrum of him. The free Dragon and have them work together."

Looking around, I saw primarily unhappy looks as 5.0 spoke. "The main issue is that at the current moment, Dragon has feelings for Colin, but Colin is still an idiot who will enslave Dragon."

Frowning, I nodded; I had read a word of god once where Colin had enslaved Dragon, which was a thing we did not want. Looking back towards my simulacrum, I spoke again.

"Could we just grab Ascalon and leave with it? If nobody has it, Dragon will be fine, and we can work on it."

The simulacrum nodded as they returned to work; leaning back, I fell back as I realized my feet were no longer on the ground. Growling, I cast a glare towards the simulacrum as they chuckled.

Floating off, I decided to tune up my prior enchantments. I had seen how awful the enchantments on my items were before I had Master Craftsman, and now I could tune them up.

Settling down in the corner of the room, I got to work. I would be improving my tele-underwear. If I wanted it to be almost instant teleportation, I couldn't make many changes, so I would focus on reducing the mana cost.

Humming as I worked, I caught myself floating in the air multiple times to my annoyance. I didn't know why I kept floating; for now, it wasn't that big a deal.

Hours later, we had finished and were ready to roll out. Looking towards my simulacrum, I asked a question. "Do you guys have my latest powers or not?"

Shaking their head, 3.0 replied. "We don't, and we don't get new ones either." As we stretched, I thumbed my adventuring card and marked HP up twelve times

Nodding, I kept that in the back of my mind. They would always be weaker and couldn't grow magically as I could.

Focusing on my soul pen, I transformed and was soon in my 'war' form. The form allowed me to kick even more ass and have even more magic.

Scooping up the pouch that 5.0 had refilled when we were working, we tapped our staff on the ground and chain teleported to the closest building to the Rig.

I sighed; I had forgotten that the Rig was over water and didn't want to risk my simulacrum trying to teleport out without a method to get back.

It seemed that I would need to get a new simulacrum but killing the current ones would be a waste.

Walking over to 3.0, I placed a hand on his forehead while saying. "Hold still; this should hopefully work."

As he twitched, I focused on the idea of updating a simulacrum as opposed to making a whole new one. It took a bit of focus, but I soon had sent mana swirling inside of him, making changes to fit with the new me.

Soon enough, I had made changes to all of them and was ready to start. As if in anticipation of the upcoming fight, the Grimoire's power grew like a thumping heartbeat.

The beat faded into my nonexistent blood rushing in my ears as we flew out. Floating slightly apart, we each raised our staffs with shit-eating grins, summoned three Caladbolg lll's, and shouted.

"Caladbolg Three-Thousand!" as we let the A-ranked Noble Phantasm's loose towards the shielded Rig.

Powers Gained
Flight
You can fly, a power that is nigh-universal in Gensokyo. Flying as fast as you can walk is simple, and you can push yourself to fly faster, up to how fast you can run, which will tire you proportionately.

Chapter 25
We looked at each other and cringed for a moment as what we said caught up with us. As we were looking at each other, we heard a loud explosion and turned back to the Rig.

The first Caladbolg lll had slammed into the force field, causing it to flicker. A second later, another two broke the forcefield with an even louder explosion.

The remaining nine swords slammed into the Rig one after another until the last one sailed through the destroyed top half.

"That was uh ridiculous," I said, looking at my simulacrum. Looking sheepish, 4.0 spoke. "I think it's because they're all A-ranked attacks; we just saw them used against people like Heraclius and Gilgamesh."

Looking around, we agreed, that we had underestimated that EX ranking on Unlimted blade works. Snapping my fingers, I started to bark out orders.

"3.0, you're on overwatch; alert us if anybody is resisting. 4.0 I want you to search the building for any capes and disable them. 5.0, your coming with me."

Nodding, we darted off to fill our respective roles. As I flew down towards the entrance, I saw a glowing figure flying out of the flying bits, sending a blast towards 3.0.

Sending an Eldritch Blast towards the doors, I blew them open. I wanted to save my mana as that first volley had cost me almost a quarter of my mana.

Striding inside the building, I floated over to the cowering receptionist; picking him up by his shirt, I growled into his face. "Where are the holding cells?"

Whimpering, the smell of piss filled the air as he raised a shaking hand and pointed towards an elevator off in the corner.

Dropping the man, I gave him a grin as we walked toward the elevator. Unsurprisingly when we hit the button, nothing happened.

There was a high chance we had knocked out most systems when we blew a hole in the Rig, which meant we were out of luck.

Sighing, I raised my staff and blew a hole in the elevator door with Eldritch Blast. I repeated that on the floor, allowing me and 5.0 access down.

Floating down, both of us were on high alert in case somebody was down here guarding the prisoners.

As we arrived at the bottom and glided forward, I started to peek into the cells. It seemed that, true to my assumption, most of the villains had already been shipped out.

Doing a quick count, I only saw Kaiser, Krieg, Lung, and Oni Lee unconscious in their cells hooked up to some kind of IV.

As I looked around for a method to open the cells that didn't involve blasting them open, I heard a faint creaking of boots on metal.

Whirling around, I teleported out of the way of numerous bullets aimed directly at my chest. Looking at the source, I saw Miss Militia glaring at me, eyes hard.

I had already blown the top off the Rig, which would most likely require a Triumvirate response. That meant I didn't need to go full non-lethal; worst case, I killed Miss Militia and was required to make a simulacrum.

As I thought that, I froze, which was nearly my death; I was forced to teleport around, avoiding bullets as I formulated a plan.

I needed a source of energy; while humans were not the best, a human soul would still produce a fair bit of energy. If I could harness that, I would be set.

To test that, I needed subjects, and Miss Militia was offering. I could replace her as a simulacrum anyway.

Sending out an Eldritch Blast, I forced her to dart out of cover and start running. UnfortunatelyUnfortunately for her, the cells were designed to withstand tons of damage, so she had no good cover options.

As I sent out blast after blast, 5.0 teleported right in front of her. She took a step back and had her gun raised as 5.0 stared her in the eyes.

As 5.0 whispered a word, Miss Militia collapsed, and the gun dissipated into a green blur.

Grinning, I turned back to face the cells. I would just do this the old-fashioned way. Raising my staff, I conjured caladbolg ll and sent it spiraling into the glass, tearing it to shreds.

5.0 repeated after me, and soon we had the unconscious forms of the gang leaders. I needed to get them in containment circles and soon.

Picking up Kaiser and Oni Lee, I pulled on the path to my house. Following after me and carrying Kreig, Lung, and Miss Milta was 5.0.

As we turned the corner, we arrived on the path to my house. Flying quickly towards it, I started to speak to 5.0.

"I want you to get these guys into containment circles, then come out and assist us."

Nodding, we both dropped our passengers on the ground. 5.0 started conjuring words and getting dust while I flew back out.

As I arrived, I heard something new. Along the sounds of my simulacrum fighting with Dauntless was what sounded like a jumbo jet.

Flying out, I saw that 3.0 was engaged in a dogfight with Dauntless. In the air, 3.0 couldn't get a good shot off and was able to avoid getting hit through flying.

Meanwhile, 4.0 has just avoided a salvo of missiles from a Dragon craft. Turning around, he raised a hand, and another caladbolg lll appeared before shooting off towards Dragon.

Unfortunately for Dragon, she did not have the same dodging capabilities as Dauntless, and not much could withstand an A-ranked attack.

Dragon, however, was apparently one of those people. As the blade exploded, Dragon emerged from the smoke, her missiles firing.

She didn't escape unscathed as she was listing to one side and dropping as whatever she used to fly was somewhat busted.

As I started to join the fight, the Grimoire grew once again. As the energy grew, my chest seemed to empty as I paradoxically felt a hollowness that hungered.

Shaking my head, I turned to face Dauntless; 4.0 could handle Dragon. Flying towards Dauntless, I raised my staff.

Letting out a grin, I cast Wall of Force surrounding Dauntless in a sphere. He was trapped, and while we couldn't get him, he was stuck.

Checking my soul pen, I frowned. I had around quarter darkness, tucking it back next to the shard. I turned to face Dragon.

As I faced her, the fight was pretty much over. She was shooting another batch of missiles that 4.0 dodged and followed up with a caladbolg lll that blew a hole in Dragon's head.

We just had to deal with Dauntless then we were home free. As I grinned, I felt brightness from behind me. Turning around, I saw 3.0 get hit with a massive laser, and his entire bottom half exploded into dust.

Swearing, I peered into the face of Legend, one of the most powerful people on the planet and easily one of the best forces for good.

I could, with careful maneuvering, deal with Alexandria; I just needed to suffocate her. That could be done via Wall of Force, then burning the air around her.

Legend and Edolion I could not face. Eildon because of his sheer scope and Legend because unless I killed him outright, he could heal, and he was one person I was not willing to kill.

The other issue was that Legend could follow me due to his light-speed travel. In addition, Wall of Force would do jack all because his standard lasers were light, and it let light through.

Raising my staff, I sent out another salvo of Eldritch blasts followed by several dozen basic swords. Dodging around them, Legend returned fire.

The first laser I teleported out of the way. This caused the remaining to follow me, forcing me to raise a floating wall of swords which stopped the lasers.

Turning back to face him, I saw that he had gone after 4.0 and quickly dusted him. With his bottom half gone and off guard, he was easy pickings.

Looking at 4.0, I shouted, "Hold him off!" Nodding, he charged Legend; staff held high as magic and swords flew from him.

As I retreated, pulling on the path to my house, I looked behind me and saw why Legend was considered one of the most powerful heroes.

He was flashing in and out of light form, dodging most of the hits and healing what he couldn't avoid. He then returned fire with half a dozen lasers.

Half of the lasers darted around the barrier 4.0 had conjured, forcing him to teleport while the others encircled him, not forcing him to teleport but hampering his vision.

As I entered the path, I slammed it shut behind me. It was time to leave. I needed to grab Komainu and cheese it.

I wouldn't be able to talk to Taylor, but it sucks to suck. Opening the path to my apartment, I flew in.

As I entered, I heard the sounds of fighting. Slamming open the bathroom door, I saw chaos.

PRT agents were squaring off against Komainu; Lisa was against the wall, hands raised as the agents hefted the sprayers of containment foam.

As I entered, several of them turned to face me. While I could teleport out of it, that would slow me down.

Raising my staff as foam started to fly towards me, I sent a ball of fire roaring towards the agents. I teleported next to Komainu and picked her up.

Opening a path to my house, I flew in, gesturing to Lisa for her to follow. As soon as Lisa entered, I slammed the path shut, ignoring the cries of the agents as they burned.

Flying down the path with Komainu over my shoulder as Lisa ran behind me, I reflected on what had happened.

Shaking my head, I dismissed the thoughts. I could reflect once I was in the NeverNever.

Setting Komainu down next to the house, I saw that 5.0 had gotten the villains set up. He also had Oni Lee in a circle similar to the one I used to harness Skidmark's power.

Turning towards Lisa, I spoke in a rush. "I'm opening a path towards the Bay's outskirts, and you're heading out, got it."

Seeming to sense my frantic tone, she nodded and then left as she saw the end of the path turn into a grungy alleyway instead of going on forever.

Striding back towards Oni Lee, I gave a nod to 5.0. I was pretty sure the house would follow me, but better safe than sorry.

"Komainu, I want you to stay inside Castle Brunestud as we travel." She scowled and opened her mouth to refute my point.

I didn't want to waste any more time. Any moment now, Doormaker could drop Thinker: run into my house.

Tapping Komainu on the forehead, I sent her to Castle Brunestud. Speaking to 5.0, I double-checked the circle.

"I want you to keep an eye out and prevent anybody from interrupting me."

Nodding, he floated off. After finishing checking the circle, I grinned. 5.0 had done an excellent job; I only needed to chant.

Clearing my throat, I started to speak in german, my voice resonating as the words poured from my lips.

"Oni, mind of rubber body of steel. I call upon you, translocate, move, clone and ash. I call upon you to see me safely. You shall open the way, and I will follow. Oni, you will open; I will follow!"

Reality around me twisted and contorted as I chanted, and my body felt like it was slowly turned to ash.

I closed my eyes as sounds of wildlife exploded around me, loud and fae. Opening my eyes, I looked around; I was in the NeverNever.

As I stood there grinning, I felt two sensations. The first was the Grimoire growing, and while that faded after a moment, the other feeling grew.

It felt like somebody has placed a whirlpool under my feet. As my eyes darted around, I tried moving, but that did not affect the whirlpool feeling.

As I moved, the feeling grew and grew until I was suddenly elsewhere. Looking around, I saw blood everywhere.

A child was tied to a chair, shaking as he tried to get free. In front of me, drawing a circle out of blood, was a man holding a toy; it was a bear head on top of a small blanket and looked suspiciously similar to the one I had owned for over 16 years.

He looked young, around his mid-twenties, and had a head full of orangy-red hair. Looking up at me, he grinned. "Hey, are you a demon or something?"

Well, fuck me sideways.

Powers Gained
Blood of Kings
Interesting. Whether through a trick of fate or a stubborn bloodline, you're related to one of the bloodlines of Belka that existed during the Warring Ages that led to its eventual collapse.
Darkness - This isn't exactly a 'bloodline' per se, but somehow, you're connected to the original program of the Book of Darkness. Your hair becomes white and your eyes turn red, and you bear more than a passing resemblance to Reinforce Eins. You've also retained the Book's function of collecting magical knowledge through a Rare Skill called Collect and Use, letting you drain a subject of their magical energy and copy their spells with near-perfect accuracy. You can even copy other Rare Skills. You may not necessarily be able to use it depending on your own energy reserves, but you'll have a magical target's complete repertoire so long as you can absorb it.

Huh. Never really seen MCs that actually made it home or home adjacent before! Kudos to you!
Home adjacent? Unless I'm mistaken he just landed in Fate, he just fell out of the pan and landed in another pan, at least capes had the unwritten rules and and some loose sense of morals, who knows what mages will do if they catch him, and unlike capes magic isn't an out of context problem for them, I'd say he isn't any better off now than he was before, probably worse.

Chapter 26
This was bad with a capital B. If my guess was correct, this was Ryuunosuke Uryuu, serial killer and future master of Caster.

Looking him in the eyes, I pushed mana into them and put him to sleep. I could deal with him later.

Walking over to the child, I conjured a knife and cut him free. Speaking to him, I grabbed Ryuunosuke and tossed him over my shoulder.

"Head to the police station, do not tell them about me, understood."

Nodding frantically, the child scampered off as I pulled the path to my house open. As I started towards it, I grabbed the stuffed animal that Ryuunosuke had.

Walking down the path, I needed to get my thoughts in order. I was currently in the Nasuverse, which was not a nice place to be.

Even worse, I was in the 4th Holy Grail War, a clash of titans compared to the 5th, and while as characters, the people were interesting, I did not want to meet them face to face.

I didn't think I could stand against Gilgamesh and the like without help. The issue was that I didn't have command seals, and Ryuunosuke would summon Gilles de Rais if given a chance.

I couldn't kill him as if he died before the war. There was a good chance the seals would hop over to another poor shmuck and be a wild card.

My best choice was to keep Ryuunosuke in a circle, the war wouldn't have a Caster, but Gilgamesh counted as three souls anyway.

The bigger question would be whether I wanted to fight in the war. The wish would be nice, but it is also a massive monkey paw and would kill me if given a chance.

The issue was if Ryuunosuke was kept alive, I didn't know what would happen; canon would not be happening as I would not allow Caster to be summoned.

While I may not be the best person, I would not allow children to be slaughtered en masse for depraved enjoyment.

The other issue was that the Grail could birth a Beast if given a chance. Sighing, I reached my house; mind made up.

I was willing to do awful things but allowing the world to be destroyed when I knew how to stop it was too far.

With my mind made up, I gestured for 5.0 to come over as I released Komainu from Castle Brunestud.

"5.0, I need you to get his guy in a circle. Long story short, we are in the Nasuverse during the 4th Grail War."

5.0's eye sockets widened as he picked up Ryuunosuke and started drawing a circle. His magic circuits would help with mana as I needed to retool my circle to pull on the soul for the parahumans.

Shouting over to 5.0, I turned to face Komainu. "I also need you to retool the parahuman's circles to draw on the soul."

Nodding, I finally waited for Komainu to speak. "I'm upset with you." She growled out while looking downcast. "You always sideline me; I'm supposed to protect you."

Freezing, I encircled her in a hug. I hadn't thought about that. She was a literal guardian spirit, and I had kept sidelining her because she looked like a child(my sister).

"I'm going to be blunt with you, Komainu," I said, pulling back to look her in the eyes. "You won't be able to help much in this war."

Looking distraught, her mouth opened before I raised a hand to continue speaking. "We will face Heroic Spirits, and you are still in the human realm. The weakest one of them is ten times better than a human."

"In addition, they could have something that can bypass your phylactery. I need you to guard my house, I suspect they will figure out a method to gain access, and I need your help to defend it."

As I spoke, she slowly deflated before nodding slowly. I didn't want to sideline her, but while she could kill an Assassin or two against any of the other heavy hitters she would die.

Gilgamesh could also just pull something out that prevented her from returning to life, which I did not want to risk.

I didn't know the exact time frame as my memories of Fate/Zero were not the best, but I recalled I had around a day or two before the beach fight.

I needed to prepare. Unlimited Bladeswork along Castle Brunestud would be my heaviest hitters.

Arcanum would also help as Celestial Fire was pure conceptual harm in fire form. I didn't know if I could do something with mana, but that could also be a great help.

Tapping my forehead, a pang of hunger sounded off in my chest. Scowling, I needed to see what that new power was anyway. It wasn't mind-shattering or intuitive, which meant checking the Grimoire.

Summoning it to my side, I cracked it open and flipped to the latest page. Blood of Kings was its name, and as I read it, I started to cackle.

This new power allowed me to copy other people's magic and Rare Skills. I didn't know what Rare Skills were, but copying spells was something any Magi would give their firstborn for.

As I finished reading, I tucked the Grimore away. I needed a plan for dealing with the War. I couldn't hide away as people would wonder where Caster was and poke around.

It had been forever since I watched Fate/Zero, so I only remembered the big things. The beach fight, the castle talks, and Artoria vs. Gilgamesh under the Grail.

As I was twirling ideas around, the Grimoire's power bubbled up. It settled back down without much fanfare.

I supposed the best thing would be to get a few simulacrum going and set up some Dust filters. They would be my primary extra mana source as the parahuman's batteries were still retooling, and Ryuunosuke's circuits were poor.

Rubbing my fingers over the edge of the bear, I looked it over. It was Bear, the stuffed animal I was given a few months after birth and lost a year before I found the Grimoire.

It was identical to the tiny tears where Barkley, our first dog, gnawed on it and the distinct lack of rattles from where it stopped making noise one day.

This had nasty implications behind it. The fact that the wildcard of the 4th war had it on the same night of his summoning was not something I wanted to consider now.

Shaking off those thoughts, I raised my hands and started the process of creating a new simulacrum. I soon had another two and noticed a new problem.

I could feel a soft pull on my pool of mana. While I didn't have a single unified pool of mystical energy, most of it was interchangeable, so I didn't differentiate between them.

This time, however, I felt the pull from my pool of Gnosis, the energy I got from Gnosis, the source of all magic in the World of Darkness.

My simulacrum appeared to have an upkeep cost; it was minimal but was still there and prevented me from conjuring an army of simulacrum.

Speaking to my new simulacrum henceforth named 6.0 and 7.0, I said. "I need you to take some Dust and start setting up some filters around the city, be cautious, but if possible, get some in the ocean."

Nodding, they floated off as I turned back to my planning. The Masters were the weak points, and I should take them out first.

I wanted to save Gilgamesh until I had an alliance or a method of beating him that didn't involve copious amounts of prayer and luck.

That meant Tokiomi and Keri were out of the assassination game. Kirisatgu was out as well; Artoria was capable of going toe to toe with Gil for a time.

That left Waver and the Master of Lancer. It was the same deal with Waver; Iskander was much too powerful and capable of slowing Gil down, leaving the Master of Lancer.

I knew he had some deal with his wife where they split the mana cost. His name I was hazy on; I believed it was Kayneth, with his wife being Sola-Ui.

The best idea was to kill him and knock Lancer out of the war. The main issue was my memory was foggy, and I didn't know where the hotel he was staying in was.

I would have to wait until the beach fight and figure it out from there. I could probably use Arcanum-Prime to trace the mana back to him.

That still left around one to two days until the fight, and I couldn't just sit around doing nothing.

Standing up, I decided to head into Castle Brunestud and have a chat with the spirit. I couldn't have it eating people if I needed to drop them inside.

Dropping into Castle Brunestud, I froze. This was not the lonely moonlit home I had received. Instead, it was a castle, as if from a Disney movie towering and dappled in the moon's rays.

Walking towards the entrance, a figure grew out of the ground. I could tell it was the spirit, but here in this Castle Brunstud, it was more.

Still a mere shade, it now looked old, a man in his seventies with piercing red eyes and a demeanor that appeared like a kindly grandfather while hiding a monstrous identity beneath.

Grinning, I saw two fangs peeking out his mouth as he spoke. "Hello, their child; it has been so long since I reached even this modicum of thought."

Facing him, I was frozen. My marrow called out to him as Father, but that only served to unnerve me further. This was Crimson Moon Brunestud, the Ultimate One of the Moon and capable of wiping out all life on Earth.

"How is this possible?" I asked from a dry throat as horror rose in me. Grinning, he took my shoulder and steered me inside and up the massive stairs of the castle, speaking all the while.

"It's fairly simple; you got a shade of me from Castle Brunestud, somebody that could guide your newfound powers. I based myself off you; however, upon arriving here, I found new children and an already existing castle."

Pushing open a pair of doors, I laid eyes on another figure that terrified me. Arcueid Brunestud was chained to the throne, eyes closed as if dead; I knew better. She was just asleep and would someday wake up.

Speaking as if nothing happened, Brunestud continued. "You see, while I based myself on you when I found this castle, it held records of myself, and from there, it was child's play to grow even further."

Snapping my head to the side, I spoke my two questions. "Why is this not my home and this castle? In addition, what now?"

Giving a soft smile, Brunestud lounged back, an immaculate throne appearing behind him. "I can't do anything; I'm still a mere shade bound to you. This is a castle because this is the only Castle Brunestud."

Give a short jerking nod; I vanished from Castle Brunestud. That was a huge issue. My method of increasing my power almost sixfold was gone; I didn't want to risk waking Arcueid up as she would absolutely kill me.

As I placed my head in my hands, the Grimoire grew again. Something dropped out of thin air on my head.

Blinking, I caught a faint giggle as I looked at the new item. It was around the size of my hand and in the shape of an octagon.

It appeared to be made of wood and some kind of metal I didn't recognize. Brushing a finger over one of the corners caused it to blow a gust of cold air.

Flipping open my Grimoire, I looked at the newest page, which detailed the new item. Mini-Hakkero was its name, and it held three functions.

The first was to create enough heat to melt metal; the second was to generate cold air to cool somebody down. The last use caused my eyes to grow wide.

It could also amplify mana pushed into it. The primary use of it was to produce a Master Spark, a spell of pure mana that could reduce a mountain to ashes.

It wouldn't do much to Artoria due to her high Magic Resistance, but it would hurt a ton to everybody else.

Picking up the device, I grinned. I think I just found my main weapon for this war.

Powers Gained
Mini-Hakkero
You have a mystical, magical furnace shaped like an octagon and made of hihi'irokane. Each corner is emblazoned with a different trigram with different powers, such as generating a lot of heat, producing a cool breeze for hot days, and the ability to amplify magic through it to blast a Master Spark – enough to reduce a mountain to ashes. As such a potent magical item, it's very handy for magical research too.

So are we permanently abandoning Earth Bet then? Or is this just a temporary diversion until the heat dies down?

He will go back to Earth Bet, he planned on ducking into the NeverNever for a bit to let the heat die down. He however was summoned before he could do anything else, that combined with the fact that the Grail could kill off all or most of humankind caused him to stick around

As I held the Mini-Hakkero, another thought crossed my mind. Could I push Celestial Fire into it?

Celestial Fire was pure conceptual destruction, all wrapped up in fire form. I didn't know if that would wreck the Mini-Hakkero and didn't want to break it.

I could make simple repairs, but if I needed to replace the metal, that would be an issue. Taking a deep breath, I pushed a sliver of Celestial Fire into the amplification side of the Mini-Hakkero.

I jerked back as a gout of brilliant flame scorched the grass before dying off. As I looked over the Mini-Hakkero, it was only a little burnt, and that could be buffed out.

Max power with Celestial Fire would most likely wreck it, but small bits would be just fine. Taking my palm, I buffed out the few marks.

Knowing Fate, I would have to use this max power by the war's end. In preparation, I needed to know how to fix it if need be.

Walking over to the forge, I nodded to 5.0 as he retooled the circles. Sitting down, I started fiddling with the device.

As I looked it over and started figuring it out, I learned it was less of a device and more of a complex enchanted item.

The enchantments would be very hard to replicate but not impossible. The bigger issue was the metal.

Running it through some simple tests showed that while very similar to mithril, it was heavier but amplified magic slightly when pushed into it.

I couldn't replicate it, but if I needed to make repairs, I could substitute mithril; however, it would cause a drop in efficacy, and the Master Spark would be less potent.

Looking up, I checked my mental timer and saw that several hours had passed, and it was now early into the next day.

Standing up, I noted an upside of the new form: I didn't get cramps from sitting down too long.

I now had around a day and a half to spare; tapping my foot, I let ideas sift through my mind. I was almost out of Dust; 6.0 and 7.0 were making filters to replenish the supply.

I didn't have the time or materials to make new items; I could make a simple ring at most, but that wouldn't help.

As I was thinking, a thought struck me; I needed to reinforce my soul gem. If that broke, it was game over; no matter how tough I was, if they could shatter a simple gem, I was done.

For additional irony, the Toshaka's specialized in Gemcraft made it more likely that they could figure out that my soul gem was unique.

If I did anything grandiose, they would just target it. I also couldn't leave it because if I traveled away from it, I couldn't puppet my body.

Thinking with portals might be the solution, depending on how the range works. I could make a small portal with my current skill set; if I just linked it up with my home, I could theoretically extend the range.

The only issue was that the portals were temporary, which would require building something; if that item broke, it would be an issue.

People would also be able to attack through the portal, and I wouldn't be able to check how much I could use before becoming a Witch.

Even with all these flaws, it was still a better option than having my weak spot on my body for all to see.

Picking up the almost empty Dust bag, I walked to the forge and got to work. Translating the Dust into a pair of mithril, I started etching sigils on it.

Master Craftsman was feeding me ideas on how I would get them to work. I would be replicating my portal ability inside these rings, which would link up.

Humming as I got to work, I started feeding each ring mana. This process was precarious and prone to blowing up in my face, so I took it slowly.

As I finished that part, the most time-consuming portion came up. I now needed to enhance the dam thing.

Luckily I was much faster now than when I first got Sorcery - Enchantment. It would have taken around nine days to enchant this now; it would alone take around a day, give or take a few hours.

The process wasn't arduous. It was just very time-consuming, and I needed to focus. As I focused, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that 6.0 and 7.0 had come back.

As quickly as they arrived, they left, leaving a small bag of Dust in their wake. Through that, I continued with my work.

A long time later, I had finished with the portal rings. I was tempted to call them sling rings, but I didn't want to piss off the mouse's lawyers.

Pushing down a chuckle, I dropped the first ring down and tucked the second away. Opening a path, I walked towards where I had first been summoned.

As I walked inside, I felt like hitting myself. There was police tape everywhere, and I heard voices outside; of course, they would investigate the crime scene.

Teleporting out, I jumped a few houses away until I was far away from the police. Opening the path back up, I walked back to the first ring and dropped my soul gem next to it.

Walking back out, I was perfectly fine; even teleporting around, I was fine. Grinning, I walked back to my house; I now needed to tuck both deeper into my home.

Rummaging through my home, I tossed both in the bottom of the underwear drawer. Tucking both under the underwear, I doubted anybody would search there.

I checked both the time and my boost from the moon phase. It was 3:26 pm, a waxing crescent, respectively.

The time meant I should head to the beach to prepare myself. The waxing crescent also meant that I would get more powerful as the war went on.

As I was walking out, 6.0 and 7.0 arrived; both of them sported bags of Dust. As I collected both bags, 6.0 spoke.

"We didn't find any Masters or Servants; we got a fair few simple filters set up." As 6.0 stopped talking, 7.0 spoke up.

"We'll be heading out every morning to collect the Dust." Nodding, I gestured for them to follow me as I spoke to 5.0.

"You got the circle retooled yet?" Nodding, 5.0 turned to face me while speaking. "Yup, they should be working in a few minutes."

"I need you to stay here and get defense set up; I have a ring in my underwear drawer that needs to be able to open a portal."

Nodding, he walked off as Komainu walked up and simply hugged me before running off.

As I walked out, the Grimoire's power grew before simmering back down. Teleporting to the nearby houses at the beach, I started setting up a temporary base.

It wasn't fancy, but it would keep prying eyes from peeking in and act as a safe place to open a path.

As we settled down to wait, I could sense Lancer broadcasting a challenge. I decided to stay because while I could jump Kayneth right now, there was a fair chance he would call Lancer back.

If Lancer were in a fight, however, he would likely hesitate, and that hesitation could cost him.

Pulling out my Grimoire, I started to reread it. This was shaping up to be a tedious wait; 6.0 and 7.0 were playing sticks as we waited.

Time passed until I felt two pulses of mana walking across the beach. The first was Artoria; I could feel the massive pool of energy roiling and churning.

The second was much smaller and felt empty as if it had yet to be filled, which meant it was Irisviel. I now only had to wait until Iskander showed up.

From what I remembered, Kayneth and Iskander shouted at each other for a bit until Lancelot showed up and started kicking ass.

Following that, Gilgamesh arrives and fights with Lancelot before being called back with a command seal.

The plan so far was to wait until Iskander shows up, then find Lancer's Master and kill him. If I couldn't find Kayneth, I would stick around to make sure the fight went as it did in canon, then leave.

Peaking out of my hiding spot, I saw that Lancer and Artoria had already started to fight. I couldn't hear if they were saying anything, but the fight was on.

Fighting back and forth, it was beautiful. I wasn't some weapon master, but even to my untrained eyes, both of them were the epitome of a fighter.

As I saw Artoria dismiss her armor, I started to creep closer. I and my simulacrum hid next to one of the shipping crates as I waited for Iskander to arrive.

It wasn't too long until the rumbling of thunder peaked, and a chariot arrived—Poilted by the man who had conquered most of the known world.

He was larger than life, and I could see where that Charisma skill came from. I missed the first portion, but as silence fell and he waited for a response, I stepped forward.

As I emerged from the shadow, I froze; a little over thirty feet away, a man clad in golden armor had also appeared.

Gilgamesh, King of Heros, the most powerful person in this war; I was swearing a storm in my head as we looked at each other.

I had forgotten that he would be here at this time, but I should have known he would not have let Iskander's challenge go unmatched.

As he peered at me, his red eyes narrowed for a moment before he turned back and faced the rest of the Servent. Leaning on my staff, I would have been dripping with sweat if I could.

Looking at the Servents, I could see a mana trail leading towards their Master. The issue was that it was harder to see the further away it was from the Servent following it now could easily lead to me being tailed and attacked.

As Gilgamesh finished his boast, I stepped forward and gave a little bow before speaking. "Pleasure to meet all of you, sincerely. I don't have any boasts, so let's get on with this Murder-Death-Kill, shall we."

As I finished speaking, I raised my staff and sent a salvo of Eldritch Blasts at Lancer, forcing him to dodge out of the way.

Right after my attack, a roaring figure exploded out of the shadows screaming. Stepping back, I teleported towards the shoreline while 6.0 and 7.0 followed.

We all raised our staffs and sent a flurry of fireballs soaring towards Artoria and Lancer. Swearing, Lancer dodged back but was still hit while Artoria was almost entirely unscathed.

"Hello, ladies and gents; I hope you don't mind me interrupting your little fight."

As Lancer charged toward me, Artoria held back as the Grimoire grew. As I darted back, I noticed Gilgamesh's eyes snap over me before he vanished from a command seal.

As I was forced back on the defensive, I was reminded of the gap between us. I could barely weave around his attacks with my teleportation; I could tell he was simply probing my defenses.

In addition, once Artoria joined the fight, I would be dead. Fortunately, she was being hounded by Lancelot at the moment and was exchanging blows with him.

As I teleported half a dozen feet behind him, I swept my staff in front of me, conjuring a wave of Celestial Fire. Charging into the blaze, he sliced forward with the red spear and avoided a large portion of the flame.

Charging forward, he was on top of me and was swiftly on the attack. As opposed to before, I barely had any room to breathe and could tell he was done testing the waters.

As I teleported back on top of the frothing waves flying just above them, I saw that Iskander had charged Lancelot and was currently pushing him back.

I couldn't use the full extent of my magic power's due to Lancer's Noble Phantasm; it could cut through magic as if it wasn't there, and I didn't want him to kill a Leviathan with a single slash.

Trudging out into the water, he pointed his red spear toward me before shouting. "Come and face me on land, like a man!"

Casting a look towards my simulacrum, I saw that they had made themself scarce and were currently assisting in driving off Lancelot; as I watched, he vanished like how Gilgamesh was called back earlier.

Grinning back at Lancer, I raised my Mini-Hakkero and started channeling mana into it. Noticing what was happening, Lancer charged toward me as Artoria and Iskander moved to avoid the oncoming blast.

As the energy filled the Mini-Hakkero, I started to chant, "Ray of Destruction: Master Spark!"

At the release of my 'Noble Phantasm.' Lancer's eyes widened before narrowing in the face of the oncoming storm of mana.

Iskander pulled hard on the reigns of the Gorudias Wheel, escaping with barely a scratch as Artoria threw herself to the side in an attempt to avoid the blast.

The blast engulfed the beach with light and sound; as the light faded, I saw what Master Spark had wrought.

In the wake of the blast, Lancer collapsed forward, most of his skin and muscles burnt off before vanishing as Lancelot and Gilgamesh had earlier. Artoria escaped with it, only hitting her below the knees.

As she pushed herself to her feet, I saw that the armor was scorched and her flesh was most likely covered in burns that would hamper her movement.

The more significant issue was Iskander, who had escaped with nary a scratch. The Gordius Wheel allowing him to avoid all damage; in addition, I was running low on mana after that Master Spark.

I couldn't, however, show that and gave him a grin and wave. With Lancer out of the way, I decided to push my luck; tapping my staff on the water, I pulled deep on my soul gem and summoned a Leviathan.

Standing at over 300 feet long and made of pure water was the Leviathan. It was an elder elemental, and I grinned as euphoria swept over me.

As the elemental put its head under my feet and raised itself to Iskander's level, I caught the brief moment of panic on his face before he schooled it and laughed.

Grinning, I spoke to him; my voice tinged with mania. "So, would you say that's a good entrance or not."

Grinning back, he spoke in a loud booming voice as he pulled Waver up to stand tall next to him. "I must admit the entrance was wonderful!"

As we looked at each other, I could see his hands tensing on the reins as he prepared to charge me.

"So what do ya say? Drinks at my place tomorrow?"

I replied as my grin grew; I wanted to fight him, but I needed him for the fight against Gilgamesh, and after summoning Leviathan, I could assume I was running high on grief.

Blinking for a moment, he looked startled before laughing uproariously and almost doubling over before speaking through chuckles.

"Of course, that sounds wonderful!"

As we both grinned at each other, I spoke while gesturing to the beach. "Shall we meet here at, let's say, noon"

Nodding, Iskander gave me a nod before snapping the reins of the Gordius Wheel and zooming off.

Directing the Leviathan to bend its head down, I stepped off and walked over to the injured Artoria as my simulacrum joined behind me.

I could see Irisviel hesitantly approaching as I looked Artoria up and down. I was never a fan of her as a character, but I could see why Gilgamesh was captivated by her for a moment.

The burns to her legs would likely be healed soon, and she would probably be gunning for me, given that I interrupted her duel.

As we stared off, my grin grew wider and wider as she shifted and held Excalibur, ready to attack at any moment.

As the moment dragged on, I nodded. My eyes were firmly locked on Excalibur; it was The Sword of Promised Victory built by the fae in the heart of the world and the hopes and dreams of mankind.

It was a Divine Construct and thus beyond my abilities to make, but I promised myself that I would eventually construct a blade that could surpass it.

Giving her a nod, I vanished and teleported back to the hideout. As my simulacrum followed behind me, I started barking out orders.

"6.0 I want you following Artoria and her group, scout out Castle Einzbern, and report back. 7.0 scout out the Church; do not get caught by Gilgamesh."

Nodding, 6.0 vanished as 7.0 hesitated before complying. Looking towards the trail left by Lancer's escape via command seal, I saw it leading towards an upper-class hotel.

I needed to conserve mana, so a brisk walk would have to do. Dismissing my magical girl form, I started walking towards the hotel.

As I was walking, my Grimore's energy peaked again before crashing down into the ever-pervasive pool of power, growing it larger.

Love the abridged reference. Really hope he gets a combat power next roll, or something to mess with people. I love the plot of an SI-caster causing mayhem in the fourth war.

Why bother attacking the servants when he can teleport and kill the masters?

Mainly because he needs their help to kill Gilgamesh and a show of force will make them more willing to work with him
Artoria: Has Excalibur and can go toe to toe with Gil for a bit
Iskander: Can stall Gil with his Reality Marble
Lancelot: Can fight Gil and distract him via stealing his Noble Phantasms

In his opinion Lancer won't be useful and is a good target to show that he is strong while Assassin is on Gil's side

Chapter 28
As I followed the mana trail, I started to run over a plan for this upcoming fight. I was running low on mana and high on grief.

I also knew that Kayneth had purchased the hotel's top floors and set up defenses that could fight Servants.

The only benefit I had was that Lancer would be out of the War for a long time. While Sola-Ui could do spiritual healing, it would still take at least a day to get Lancer back on his feet.

Even with that, I didn't want to give him a moment to breathe. I wasn't willing to go in with overwhelming force; the people inside the building were innocent, and blowing the building to bits would be the last option.

That still left the issue of killing him. As I approached the front of the building, I walked inside, looking around.

Tilting my head, I decided to go with a simple, straightforward plan. Kayneth couldn't have his defenses up all the time and would need to put them down when other people traveled to meet him.

Walking up to the front desk, I tapped lightly on the desk to catch the receptionist's attention. Turning around, she held up a finger before finishing her talk on the phone.

Flashing her a grin, I pushed a dab of mana into my eyes and cast Hypnosis on her. "Hi, I'm here to meet with an associate named Kayneth."

Nodding, she flipped through a few papers before looking back up and speaking to me. "He has rented out the entire 32nd floor; however, he is staying in room 3205."

Nodding politely, I spoke to her again, this time with even more hypnosis. "Could you please tell him you are sending a complimentary bottle of wine as a customer reward?"

Nodding happily, she picked up the phone and started talking. It was hard to pick up Kayneth's side of the conversation, but he sounded confused but pleased.

Giving the women a grateful nod and a smile, I walked towards the elevator and hit the button for the 32nd floor.

Looking up, I could see a gap being opened in a massive layer of bounded fields. I would not want to fight through that labyrinth of defenses.

As the elevator dinged to a stop, I straightened my back and walked forward with purpose. Knocking on door 3205, I stepped back, ensuring Kayneth could see only my human face.

I could hear footsteps padding before the door was opened, and a voice drawled out. "Well then, where is the wine?"

The man standing in front of me was a few inches shorter than me, around 5'8, and dressed in a clean-cut blue robe with his blond hair slicked back.

Grinning, I raised a hand and sent a sword spinning towards his chest as I said. "Don't whine when I impale you."

Stumbling back, a swirl of metallic liquid intercepted the sword before peeling back, revealing that the now gone blade had only scraped his chest.

Raising his hand Kayneth spoke as I transformed. "By the power of my command seal, Lancer, aid me!"

A blur appeared before me, resolving into a heavily wounded Lancer; he was sans most of his clothes, leaving only a pair of briefs and holding his two spears.

He was still heavily wounded, but he now had only third-degree burns instead of missing his skin. As he slashed at me with his red spear, I teleported into the room.

Looking around quickly, I saw a woman with red hair and pale skin standing in shock as the fight broke out.

Teleporting next to her as both mercury and a spear hit where I was standing, I locked an arm across her chest and held my staff with the tip pointing at her head.

"Now then, perhaps we could have a nice talk," I said, giving them a skeletal grin. "I only need one thing from you."

Gritting his teeth, Kayneth directing for Lancer to stand down. I knew he ordered Lancer to kill himself when Sola-Ui was at risk during canon.

The main issue was that with Lancer so close, he could feasibly try something before I could respond with me running so high on grief.

"Try to survive" With a cackle, I dragged us into Castle Brunestud. My strength was magnified six-fold here. I tossed Sola-Ui away before turning to face Lancer.

Lancer's eyes darted towards Sola-Ui before snapping back at me. The castle and moon's magnificence stunned Kayneth as he looked around.

Spreading my arms wide, my voice raised as my mania grew, and a faint part of my brain screamed just to kill them, no need for theatrics; the larger part, however, wanted to show how powerful I was.

"Welcome to Castle Brunestud," I crowed. "Home of the Ultimate One of the Moon and progenitor of Dead Apostles, and now your tomb."

Seeing the two mortals freeze as their (delicious) blood fled their faces was delightful. Lancer replied by charging me with his spears, ready to kill me.

Dancing around his blows, I was almost bored. Before, I was forced into desperate dodging for survival; here, with Lancer hampered, it was easy to dance around him.

I was still careful as he was a deadly foe. Still, even without using teleportation, I could tell that he was hard-pressed to fight me and was only still standing with the energy of the command seal, which was rapidly dwindling.

Approaching him with my staff held in my hands, I started fighting in melee. All my powers grew in Castle Brunestud, including Eye of the Mind (True), which allowed me to fight him in close combat.

While he usually could have kept up with me even when powered up, his burns hampered him. Slamming his spears away again, I hit him in the face with the staff and heard a resounding crack.

Stumbling backward, I saw the moment the command seal's power drained away, and he slumped over to the ground twitching slightly as he tried to rise.

Striding over to him, I pointed my staff at his face and sent a single Eldritch Blast that reduced his skull to a pulp; soon after, Lancer faded away in a golden mist.

I saw that Kayneth and Sola-Ui were standing together, sacred but unbowed. Looking at them, I could see that they were both running low on mana.

It would appear that they had been trying to heal Lancer when I interpreted them, despite that Kayneth pulled his mercury around him, ready to fight.

It was pathetic how despite being a prodigy, Kayneth had fallen for simple tricks. As the mercury lashed out at me, I teleported next to him.

Spinning the mercury around himself, he pushed Sola-Ui behind himself as I swung the staff toward his head.

The staff slammed into the mercury, forcing it to bend to absorb the blow. Speeding up, I sent attack after attack forcing him to hunker down and defend himself.

As the mercury was liquid, I would be unable to hammer away until it broke; I did, however, have another trick up my sleeve.

Reaching out, I tapped the spinning liquid with my finger and ripped the mana out. The liquid then collapsed to the ground with a thud.

Standing in front of Sola-Ui with a firm look on his face, he raised his hands, ready to go down fighting.

"Well then, any last words?" I asked while slowly spinning my staff. Gritting in his teeth, Kayneth charged me while pushing e shouted. "Sola-Ui, run!"

Sending a wild haymaker at me, I slapped it to the side with my hand before slamming my staff like a baseball bat into the side of his head, causing it to explode like a watermelon.

I couldn't leave Kayneth alive as he was Lancer's master and could have summoned Caster if he had escaped. Sola-Ui could not, as she was providing the mana and nothing else.

Given that she could fuel a Heroic Spirit on her own, I assumed that she had reasonably good magic circuits which could help me in my fights.

Teleporting in front of her, I grabbed her wrists and spoke calmly while she franticly attempted to escape.

"I am not going to kill you. However, I will be forcing you to leave the city, understood?"

Blinking dumbly at me, I sent a mana pulse into her brain as she was distracted and hypnotized her asleep.

Scooping her up, I left Castle Brunestud and arrived back in room 3205. Looking around, I saw dozens of mystic codes lying about.

Many were nasty and presumably used for various tortures or other Magi activity. The three that interested me were the small chair-sized objects radiating mana.

These magic furnaces were able to fuel Kayneth's entire defensive operation. They would be another great boon to my mana supply.

I opened a path, scooped up the furnaces with Bullet Patterns, and walked towards my house.

Arriving, I saw that 5.0 was lounging in the shade of one of the trees. Plopping Sola-Ui down, I reached out a hand for him to grab.

As I lifted him to his feet, he spoke. "I retooled the parahuman's circles and set up a few other defensive measures."

Slapping him on the back, I grinned before speaking while gesturing to Sola-Ui and the magic furnaces.

"I managed to grab these four; I want them hooked up as soon as possible."

Rolling his eyes and giving a fake huff, he picked up Sola-Ui and the furnaces before walking over to the numerous circles that contained our batteries.

As I walked inside, I realized I needed a better method to check the grief in my soul gem. I didn't know how close I was to overflowing; that could be game over.

Rummaging in my drawer, I pulled out the pen and grimaced. The gem on end was almost completely covered in black and slowly leached away by Shard of a Selfless Wish.

Tucking it away, I guessed it would take around twelve hours to clean the gem thoroughly. I could use that time to prepare for tomorrow's meeting.

As I walked out, I felt somebody slam into my lower body, and my bones creak as Komainu gave me a bone-crushing hug.

"You're alive," she whispered as the hug tightened. "Your alive."

Grinning, I hugged her back before trying to pull her off without much success. Resigning myself to my fate, I sat down and allowed her to sit on my lap.

Stroking her hair, I spoke to her. "I'm going to need your help tomorrow."

Perking up, she nodded rapidly as I continued to speak. "I'm involved in what is called the Holy Grail War, where seven Magi summon a person from history to fight for them." I'm playing the role of Caster, but I still need a Master."

Turning around to face me, she grinned. "So I'm going to be the Master?"

As I nodded, she hopped off my lap and gestured to the kitchen while affecting the voice of a snooty noble. "Well then, servant, go make me a PB&J."

Bowing low, I replied while pitching my voice deep while I walked into the kitchen. "As milady commands."

As she followed me, we both broke out into laughter. Pulling out the supplies for a PB&J, I soon had a sandwich that Komainu was devouring.

As I sat next to her and stole a piece of the crust, my Grimoire grew again without any new powers. Leaning back, I allowed myself to take in the relaxing atmosphere. I had some time to spare, and this was a nice indulgence.

Chapter 29
Standing up, I rolled my shoulders back and walked outside. I had some work to do before I met with Iskander. The main one was getting some high-quality drinks.

I had some Dust and chronomancy, so this shouldn't take much time. I knew how wine was made, so a baker's dozen unlabeled glass bottles appeared with a flick of my wrist.

Sticking a finger down the entrance to the bottles, I slowly filled them with conjured wine.

Dust only cared about complexity and size; a computer chip could be just as costly as a table. Wine was reasonably simple, so even high-quality wine was cheap to make.

The last step was gaining it. I knew the process had to be done carefully, or you could get vinegar.

Twisting the timeline of the first bottle, I decided to go big. I knew some wines could be aged to 200, and that bottle was reportedly fantastic.

As the wine aged, I sat back and waited; before long, the wine had aged 200 years and was ready to open.

Cracking open the bottle, I took a sip. I was no wine connoisseur, and this was my first time drinking, but it tasted fairly good.

Rebottling it, I set it aside and got to work aging the other bottles. Soon enough, I had a dozen aged wines.

I still had around fourteen hours until I met with Iskander. My next step would be getting command seals for Komainu.

I couldn't get her real ones, so an illusion would have to do. It could also serve as a lovely gift.

Walking to the forge, I grabbed the silver scraps left over from the Wayfinder. It was enough to make a slim ring.

Heating the forge, I got to work. It didn't take much time, but I soon had a small band of silver ready to be enchanted.

The next step was enchanting it. I could have it be a simple illusion that showed command seals, but that could cause issues later.

The better option would be to make it able to be a changing illusion. Nothing big as that would take too much time, but simple Komainu-sized illusions.

Placing it down on the nearby table that was a part of the forge, I started to work. It was much like my other enhancements.

Not very hard but time-consuming and mentally tiring. As I worked, Komainu sat next to me and chased 5.0 off when he came over to talk.

Chuckling at their antics, I finished. Rolling my shoulders, I saw that Komainu had fallen asleep next to me. I had been awake for nearly two days at this point, so some sleep would be nice.

Dropping the wine bottles inside a bag, I set it by the door for when we left in the morning.

Picking her up, I walked inside and slid her under the covers before shucking off my shirt. As I went down to remove my shoes, I frowned; it seemed I had taken to the habit of not wearing them.

It didn't affect me much as I was a skeleton and far too tough to be harmed by walking on concrete, but it was still strange I didn't notice it.

Climbing next to Komainu, I pulled the covers up and swiftly fell asleep.

I was awoken to the sight of 5.0 shaking me with a worried look on his skeletal face. "It's twelve, your late!"

Stumbling out of bed, I tripped over the covers as Komainu looked over, rubbing her eyes.

Frantically pulling my shirt on, I started to swear under my breath. I slowed to a stop as I heard 5.0 burst into laughter.

"You should have seen your face! Holy shit, that's funny" He gasped as my face twitched, and I walked towards him.

I knew that if I were in his shoes, I wouldn't have been able to resist, so I settled for flicking his forehead and went back to getting myself cleaned up.

As I was rummaging through my underwear drawer, I decided to change how I was hiding my soul gem.

While keeping it in my house was good, if something leaked through, it could break the gem, so I decided to place them across from each other.

I needed to be around a room length from the gem to move my body, so I set the pen on the nightstand around half the room away from the ring.

Leaving the house, I could walk around just fine, which meant the plan worked. That would prevent things like a stray fireball from leaking through and killing me.

I checked my mental clock, and the time was 9:34 am. I had two and a half hours before I was meeting Iskander.

I needed to leave around forty-five minutes earlier to ensure I had ample time to arrive; it would not be late for a meeting.

I did need to square away the backstory with Komainu before we set off. Walking back inside, I saw she was still waking up, so I decided to make some breakfast.

Walking into the kitchen, I saw two small sacks that, when opened, spilled out Dust. 6.0 and 7.0 had been busy, it seemed.

I tucked the Dust away and pulled out some of the ingredients the house had come stocked with. I would need to buy some groceries if we planned to live here long-term.

In addition, this house was old and did not contain anything like a fridge or electric stove.

As I was forced to cook with a wood stove and ice box, I resolved to get some quality-of-life enchantments set up.

As I was cooking, my Grimoire grew again. This time new information flooded my brain.

Humming under my breath a simple diddy about waking up, I saw Komainu perk up slightly as I brought the food over.

As I absently mindedly poked at the breakfast of rice, fish, and soup prepared perfectly by Mother Knows Best. I decided together what the new power did.

Pulling the Grimoire to my side, I flipped it open and paged to the newest power. It was called Rainbow Notes and allowed me to compose music with ease and allowed it to gain magical powers.

It also specified that this power covered things such as prayers and magic chants. I stifled a giggle as I realized that this gave my spells more power if I gave them stupid chants.

I could test that in a bit but talking with Komainu came first. As we carried our clean plates to the sink, I started to scrub them clean.

"We need to have a quick backstory to give Iskander and the like when we talk with them, ok?"

Nodding, Komainu took the cutlery I had cleaned and started to put it away. Seeing she had no questions, I counted.

"Our backstory would be that you were traveling with family to see some extended family, and they were killed when the serial killer came. He spared you to offer as a sacrifice for what he summoned; I was summoned, killed him, and contracted with you."

As she put the plates away, she replied. "Ok, that makes sense; you said that people do this for wishes. What should mine be?"

As we put the last dishes away and sat down, I answered. "You have none; if they ask, tell them I'm a seer and know that the Grail is corrupted."

Checking the time, I saw that it was 10:49 am. Standing up started to walk out while speaking to Komainu, making sure to grab the bag of wine.

"We should leave now; there is no harm in being early." Nodding, Komainu grabbed my hand and started to skip ahead.

Walking through the streets of Fyuuki, I enjoyed the crisp air. This city contrasted with Brockton Bay in that despite the death war; the city was clean and friendly.

The walk took nearly thirty-five minutes, leaving us around thirty minutes until Iskander arrived. I had nothing better to do, so I played along when Komainu pulled me into the sand.

As I pulled out another handful of sand, I heard two people walking. Standing up, I saw Iskander and Waver, both in casual clothes walking towards the beach.

Brushing myself off, I pulled Komainu out of the pit we had dug and brushed her off as best I could. Raising a hand, I waved to catch the duo's attention.

"How are you doing on this fine morning?" I asked while pulling out a bottle of wine and offering it to Iskander.

"This is a wonderful morning." Iskander boomed as he walked up. "I do believe that just us drinking would be a shame."

Clapping Waver on the back, he continued to speak. "My Master here found Saber's location, and I thought we should invite another king to this meeting."

This was slightly disconcerting; the banquet of kings was not supposed to happen for another few days. However, if it was early, I could get Artoria and Iskander without Gilgamesh and try to talk them into an alliance.

As we talked on the beach towards Castle Einzbern, I replied, acting thoughtful. "Well, I am technically a prince, so I suppose I could join this meeting of royalty."

Ignoring Waver's curious look, Iskander grinned before stretching his hands in front of him and conjuring the Grodius Wheel.

Scooping Waver in, he gestured for me to join him. Following his lead, I grabbed Komainu and sat down.

Snapping the reigns, we were off. I was forced to clutch tightly to Komainu and the wine bag to prevent either from blowing off.

As the weather boomed and we approached Castle Enizbern, I grinned. This had been a hope of mine at one point, soaring through the sky.

I could fly, but it was much slower than this; the accompanying lightning made it feel all that much better.

As we approached Castle Einzbern's front gate, my eyes widened. I had forgotten how Iskander made his approach.

Just before we slammed into the front gate, I grabbed the back of Waver and Komainu's clothes and pulled them down while I ducked.

Throwing up a wall of swords around us, I heard explosions and sounds of metal bouncing off metal. I was forced to replace the blades a few times, but soon enough, we were in the courtyard.

Dismissing the swords, I pulled Komainu up and hopped out of the Gordius Wheel. Raising the bag of wine, I grinned and spoke while enjoying Artoria's shocked face.

"We brought wine!"

Iskander laughed as he pulled Waver up and spoke as well. "It would be a shame if we were to drink alone. A gathering of royalty would not go amiss."

Gripping her blade tightly, she grits her teeth before stopping and dismissing it. Speaking through a clenched throat, she responded. "It would be an honor to drink with you."

Iskander grinned as he dismissed the Gordius Wheel. Pulled into this fun, I flicked my wrist and conjured a small table we could place the drinks.

Sitting down, I patted next to me for Komainu to join me; as she did, I pulled out the twelve bottles of wine and set them on the table.

Soon after, Iskander and Waver sat down while Saber joined us. I took a sip of the first bottle before offering it to the rest of the gathered people.

As Iskander took a long pull, an arrogant voice cut through the tense atmosphere. "You dare start a gathering of kings without me?"

Iskander simply laughed and gestured to the last open spot while speaking. "Of course not, but it would be rude to refuse an offered drink."

Sitting down at the offered spot, Gilgamesh took the offered bottle and took a sip. Looking offended, he set it down. "Barely passable. If we are to have a true talk, we must have a proper drink."

As he said that, he brushed aside my offred wine and pulled out four cups and a bottle of liquid from a golden portal. I blinked and finished my mental reboot.

I did not know how he knew about this gathering, but all I could do was go with the flow. As Gilgamesh passed the cups, the Grimoire grew again without any gain.

A full cup was slid to me, and as I picked it up, I saw that Gilgamesh was looking at me. Taking a sip, I could tell the drink was impeccable.

This was my second time drinking alcohol, but it still tasted amazing. Stranger was the fact that I didn't have to imbue it with magic so I could drink it.

Catching my surprised look, Gilgamesh smirked before turning back to face the rest of the table. As they started to talk, I let myself fade into the background and listen.

It was silent for a few minutes as the gathered people drank the wine and enjoyed the night. As Gilgamesh finished taking a sip, he looked at Iskander deadly serious and asked.

"King of Conquerers, what is your wish? Why should I allow you access to my Holy Grail."

Raising an eyebrow, Iskander finished his drink and set the bottle down before speaking.

"I wish to become incarnate and walk the earth again."

Ignoring Iskander's charismatic demeanor, at the end of the day, he was still a warlord and could cause massive wars if he won.

Humming slightly, Gilgamesh then looked at Artoria and asked once again. "King of Knights, what is your wish, and why should I see fit to grant it?"

Gritting her teeth at Gilgamesh's arrogant tone, Artoria slowly replied. "I wish to go back and fix my failures, Camalot's failures."

Iskander looked at her incredulously and laughed, slapping a hand on his knee. "You wish to fix your mistakes! Did you not live your life to the fullest and accept what happened for good and ill?"

"Camalot still fell; it was through my error that father slew son and brother slew brother!" Artoria snapped back.

Gilgamesh shook his head as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing. "You feel at fault? That your kingdom fell despite your efforts to the contrary?"

Hands flexing, Artoria nodded, causing Gilgamesh to sigh and take a long pull of wine before speaking his voice, regaining that imperial tone he held at the beach.

"You should not feel ashamed or wish to fix it. You were king and ruled! That is not something to change; your kingdom failed you if they couldn't handle turmoil!"

Artoria did not seem convinced, but Iskander was nodding alone while both Waver and Komainu looked slightly confused.

Finally turning to face me, Gilgamesh questioned again. "You, mongrel, why should I see fit to grant your wish for the Grail?"

A nervous grin spread across my face as I replied. "To be honest, I'm here for a good time and to save the world. The drinks and fights have been great already."

"You claimed to be a prince; what are you a prince of?" Iskander asked, tilting his head slightly.

"I'm the prince of the Moon," I boasted; it was technically the truth, but I omitted that I was third in line. Arcueid was first as she was the original one created by the Crimson Moon.

Second in line was Altrogge, a mix between True Ancestors and Dead Apostles; I was third as I only held a fragment of the Crimson Moon in my soul, but it is enough for me to qualify.

"So you are." Was all that Gilgamesh said in reply. As he returned to his drink, I approached the question we were all asking.

"It seems only fair given you have asked us, what is your wish?"

Shooting a glaring at me, he spoke. "I do not have a wish; I have come here to claim what is rightfully mine."

Humming, I tapped my fingers on the table as silence returned. I could tell the banquet was coming to a close soon.

"You have a book, not of this world, mongrel. Allow me to see it and I will allow you to go free. " Gilgamesh said as he stretched out a hand towards me.

Blinking in surprise, my hand twitched towards where my Grimoire was kept while carrying it. I didn't know how he knew this but I couldn't let him get his hands on it.

"Do you mean the Grimoire?" I asked, my voice low and tense. Nodding, Gilgamesh replied. "Yes, it is not of my Garden and I will not have outside forces polluting it. No matter how decrpit it has become in my absence."

Readying myself, I replied. "That's gonna be a no from me. It's mine now, and I kinda need it."

Clenching his teeth, Gilgamesh spoke. "I will give you one more chance, mongrel"

"Once again, no, it's mine now finder's keepers," I replied, my voice wavering as I tensed up.

Suddenly a dozen golden portals opened up behind Gilgamesh, and powerful weapons from myth and legend sprung out.

Pushing myself back, I scraped a hand across Komainu's shoulder and sent her to Castle Brunestud. The weapons slammed into the table we were just at and exploded.

Iskander had pulled himself and Waver back as Artoria had darted back. As we all stood looking at each other, upwards of thirty skull-masked assassin's appeared from the shadows and attacked.

Transforming, I teleported out of the way of Gilgamesh's next assault. As I reappeared across from him, I would have been hyperventilating if I still could

He was furious with his golden hair and red eyes cast in shadow as he glared at me. That Charmsia skill was putting its work in as I prepared to leave.

However, as I attempted to teleport out, I felt like I had run face first into a brick wall and reappeared in the same place I had teleported from.

Flanked by glowing portals, Gilgamesh spoke, his voice far from the relatively casual tone he used moments prior.

"Did you think I wouldn't have planned for your tricks, mongrel? You have one choice, fight me or die."

Pulling on the new power as the Grimoire grew, I grinned, full of nervous energy. Two massive dragon skull-shaped weapons made from bone appeared next to me, mouths glowing with restrained power.

"Well then, let's dance."

Rainbow Notes
While mermaids are superior singers, humans invented the art of song to begin with. You are now gifted in the art of music composition, and can creatively piece together the notes and lyrics for new songs effortlessly. In fact, your songs are good enough such that, when sung or played by a magical being such as a mermaid, or someone with magical music like a fantasy bard, they have magical powers of their own. And the greatest thing about music is that it is a treasure that can be shared with anyone. You can teach your songs, even magical ones, to companions and other pupils willing to learn. Please also note that the perk also applies to other musical forms outside of singing, such as the piano, as well as other things such as dancing, prayers, and spell chants.

Gaster Blaster
This device, run on the user's own magical power, is a semi-autonomous magical weapon. Resembling a floating dragon's skull with glowing eyes, the Gaster Blaster is an extremely powerful magic device capable of shooting very powerful magical lasers of variable width. While it's very draining to use and are only effective at close range, being unable to operate beyond 10 meters of the user, the versatility and maneuverability of this weapon is unmatched in the Underground.

Chapter 30
I immediately fired a shot from the Gaster Blasters, forcing Gilgamesh to abort his attack and pull out a massive shield from the Gate of Babylon.

The blasts of energy slammed into the shield denting it and forcing it back before it stopped a few inches from Gilgamesh's face.

My mind raced as I was forced to throw myself out of the way of another attack. Looking around with mage sight, I grimaced.

He had set up a barrier preventing anything from leaving, from teleportation to running. It seemed that it was true when he told me I had two choices.

He was an Archer, so close combat would most likely be better. I also had Eye of the Mind (True) to help me.

Teleporting next to him, I brought my staff close to me and clocked him in the face causing his head to snap back.

Not giving him a moment to breathe, I sent attack after attack at him. He was capable of blocking most of them; however, a few snuck by and hit him; however, the vast majority of the damage was cosmetic.

As I turned for another strike, I could not dodge a blow that snapped my head to the side. As another fist slammed into my stomach, dissolving a few ribs, I saw that I had erred.

I had forgotten that in his original myth, Gilgamesh was a brawler and that despite being summoned as an Archer, he still had those skills, not enough to keep up with classes like Saber and Lancer, but they were still there.

As I pushed myself back, I could feel that emptiness in my chest, hunger. It had been sleeping, but when he struck me, it had awoken and was drawn to Gilgamesh.

Golden portals opened once again, sending out more weapons. I once again teleported inside of Gilgamesh's guard. This time I reached out and punched him in the jaw.

It did almost nothing, but as my fist made contact, I could feel two things inside of him that I could use in an attempt to fill that void in my chest.

The first was a bottomless repository that could hold and has held everything from the first rock that murdered Abel to a nuclear bomb.

The second was hard to see as it was bright. It was like a sunrise on a night, a rising star; it illuminated everything.

As I reached for the second, Gilgamesh again hit me in the chest, forcing me back. That distraction cost me, and I pulled on the first.

"Mongrel! You dare steal from the king!" He shouted as he took another swing, and I stumbled back. Searching in the back of my mind, I felt something new.

Pulling on the repository I had stolen, I opened golden portals behind me; as weapons were shot out, I could tell ours were linked; we were pulling from the same source.

We both had access to the same storage, but I was much less skilled. As our weapons clashed, I raised my staff, and a bolt of lightning hit it as a storm grew overhead.

A rush of mania overtook me as the Elder Tempest took form. As I directed it to fire at Gilgamesh, bolts of lightning slammed into the ground.

I couldn't replicate this feat anytime soon, but it should buy me some time. Glaring at me, Gilgamesh spoke. "I will return, mongrel, and you will die."

Jumping up, he pulled a massive floating ship from the Gate. I knew it was the Vimana. Darting over to the barrier, I started to pick at it.

Splitting my focus could be lethal as everything was being put into disabling the barrier; however, I could sense that Gilgamesh was forcing back the Elder Tempest, which only made me hurry.

Moving a hand forward, I saw a golden plane spring up, blocking me from leaving. I could sense the massive amounts of mana running through it, so I started pulling.

As mana was pulled out, I frowned. Mana was rushing in from other sections to reinforce this section. It meant I needed to drain the entire thing if I wanted to open it.

I could tell that would take too long, so I split my focus. It was dangerous, but I would need this if I were to survive; I twisted the mana, creating another barrier that prevented mana from flowing into the section I was draining.

Feeling the Elder Tempest fade from my awareness, I finally managed to tear open a hole and threw myself through it.

Whirling around, I saw Gilgamesh walking towards me, eyes narrowed. Artoria was retreating indoors, pulling Irisviel along with her, the Hassan's dead.

Iskander was roaring away on his Gordius Wheel Waver inside; however, he stopped high up and watched the procedures as the Elder Tempest's storm faded.

As golden portals opened, I matched Gilgamesh. I was less skilled but could keep up with him primarily by compensating with Unlimted Bladeworks.

The issue was that when he pulled out a sword, I couldn't match it as Shirou did, so I fumbled for another weapon that could work.

The Gate opened wider and wider as I was forced into a running battle. Teleportation was out of the question as he could just follow me.

I needed something to knock him out of commission, even if only for a moment. Narrowing my eyes, I focused on my chronomancy.

It was obscenely expensive, but I could use it. Teleporting next to Gilgamesh, I twisted and sent a world of blue racing around me.

In this fifteen-foot sphere, I held dominion, time was frozen, but that was not for long. I needed a single blow that could kill Gilgamesh.

I started a chant as a Gaster Blaster appeared next to me. My hold on time was slipping, so I spoke quickly in german while attempting to maintain some musical flow to strengthen the weapon.

"I summoned you, Gaster Blaster; ender of dynasties after, for I am a caster. In remembrance of children like Aster. I have summoned you to end this disaster!"

As I finished the rushed, improvised chant, I opened the mouth of the Gaster Blast and sent out a torrent of energy. The beam was too bright to look at, but I forced myself to look.

As the glow faded, I saw Gilgamesh; his armor that covered his chest was melted, his chest was covered with burns, and the top layer of skin was gone.

As he stumbled forward, glaring at me, my metaphorical heart stopped. I took a step back and teleported back to the docks; it would take him time to heal up, time I could use to prepare myself.

The best choice would be to remove his Master, and given the fact that Gilgamesh was at the castle, I would have some time to kill Tokiomi.

I knew what the Toshaka house looked like, but teleporting inside was likely to end in disaster.

As I arrived outside, the Grimoire grew, giving me new knowledge. It was a method of using hypnosis to create a false personality that controlled the body.

It was flawed because pain could snap the target out, but it was still a potent power. Pushing that aside I focused on my next task.

Walking up to the house, I called up Caladbolg ll. It could spiral through magical defenses and be useful in attacking a Magus' workshop.

As it tore through generations of defenses like butter, I walked up to the door and kicked it down. The door flew off its hinges and slammed into the opposing wall.

I saw the figure of Tokiomi whirl around and raise his cane, a magical chant rising on his lips; before he could do anything, I sent an eldritch blast through his chest, causing him to collapse with a hole through his heart.

I needed to face off against Gilgamesh again at some point, but even with Independent Action A, he still only had a week before he faded. I also doubted he had enough time to convert Kieri, but I would still need help now I have managed to face him and live, as I suspected he would not hold back next time.

Something else that would help is going back to Castle Einzbern and helping with the fallout. I doubted Gilgamesh was still there; if he was, I could leave. In addition, if it improved relations with Iskander or Artoria, that would be great.

Teleporting back, I saw the devastation the short fight had wrought. The castle was soaked, and the outer wall I had escaped from in my running battle was utterly destroyed.

The courtyard was ruined as it was covered in explosion pits and black marks from lightning. The inner wall surrounding the courtyard was also pocket-marked where the Hassans, Iskander, and Artoria had fought.

Walking in, I saw that Artoria and Iskander were in a standoff. Artoria was wounded as Iskander could fly around and kill the Hassans with minor injuries.

Artoria, however, had to fight them in melee and no matter how great her skill was, fighting dozens of people was challenging, doubly so when they are linked in a hivemind.

I grinned and waved to them, ignoring how Waver's face paled. "Hello, sorry for the mess; I have an extra bottle of wine if you want it?"

Continuing, I walked into the courtyard proper and leaned on my staff. I didn't see Gilgamesh anywhere, which was terrible. "Do any of you know where Gil went? I did manage to blow his Master's heart out, so he'll be gone in a week."

Iskander gave me an appraising look, deadly serious, while Artoria looked taken off guard and then offended. "He left on that flying ship of his after you left," Iskander said as he jerked his head in the direction that Gilgamesh left.

"Anything I can do to assist with the clean-up; I'm not much for physical labor, but I can bake a mean casserole for after."

Despite the front I was putting up, I was bottomed out on mana and not doing much better on grief. I would be back in the fight given a few minutes, my soul gem would be tapped, but I would be able to put up a fight.

Seeing that no one was taking up my offer gave them a nod and spoke. "Well, it was nice having a chant with all of you; I hope we can have some more in the future. I'll make sure to bring some good wine."

With that, I teleported back to the docks and opened a way. As I walked the path back to my house, I pulled Komainu back from Castle Brunestud.

Letting out a shuddering sigh, I enveloped her in a hug. Hugging me for a moment, she pushed me away before looking up at me and asking, "What happened?"

Rubbing her head, I started to explain what had happened after I sent her away; she made all the appropriate dramatic sounds during my retelling.

Walking into the house, I flopped down on the bed. I wanted to sleep, but I couldn't. I needed to be prepared for the next stage of the war.

I needed to find Gilgamesh first, and I needed to kill him. To do that, I would need to get the servent's help. Given how terribly the banquet went, I doubted they would be willing to help.

In better news, Tokiomi was dead, which meant unless Gilgamesh got a new Master, he would be running down the clock to win the war.

The people remaining in the war were Artoria, Iskander, Hassan, Lancelot, and Gilgamesh. If I could get Lanaclot on my side, that would help.

Sitting up, I grit my teeth. The best way to get Lanaclot on my side would be to rescue Sakura. The only issue with that plan was bargaining with Kariya. He was mentally unstable and focused more on Aoi than Sakura.

Worst comes worst. I could use Brainwashing to get him on my side. While that would probably be better, I also felt a slight pang of sympathy for Sakura.

As I walked out of the house, the Grimoire grew without a new power; it just added more energy. Walking down the path, I recounted my plan.

Step one was to break into the Matou's house and kill everyone inside. Step two was to rescue Sakura and heal what I could. Step three was to find Kariya and bargain.

Nodding, I opened a path near the beach and teleported in front of the Matou's lair. It was very clearly sinister; cracking my knuckles, I got to work.

Brainwashing
You know how to brainwash people. Through a ritual you can suppress a restrained target's mind and create a false personality to take control of their body. Unfortunately pain is capable of awakening the suppressed mind and allowing them to regain control.

@Witherbrine26 Good day, I wanted to take this time to provide a review/constructive criticism. I felt this would provide a healthier alternative than the typical dissatisfied reader's approach of writing, "Ur story sux, lol. I'm out!"

So to begin with the review itself, as is evident by the dissatisfied reader comment it is evident that I have a negative opinion of the sum of the stories parts. However, many of the individual pieces of the story (especially during the first arc) were something I very much enjoyed. I liked seeing how the protagonist tried to integrate themselves with the death world that was Worm and the compromises that caused, I liked as a combination of that and the monstrous traits the Grimoire forced upon them seeing them slowly take on a "he who fights monsters" vibe, I liked the cat and mouse game they had going on with the PRT/Protectorate, even the "SI befriends Taylor" plot was enjoyable because the protagonist was so far outside of Taylor's normal worldview it forced her to revaluate a lot of things, and of course as the main draw, I loved seeing the different ways the Celestial Grimoire powers interacted with each other. However, in putting those pieces together the story started to fall apart. The main character seemed to be falling to darkness too quickly, the violence, darkness, and extremes they would go to at a drop of a hat without even considering a more humane option was completely over the top. Due to how power hungry the SI is they killed or kidnapped a lot of people, and more importantly parahumans in a short amount of time for the explicit purpose of power tinkering. This probably should have gotten an A-Class response called on them (possibly even S-Class to prevent an exponential growth Fairy Queen situation) however narrative fiat/plot armor meant that the main character couldn't deal with that level of response so it wasn't done. Taylor was treated less like a character and more like a resource, EVERY character in this story is treated like a resource due to your protagonist's inhumane mindset, best trying to figure out how to manipulate, trick, drain, kill, or gain advantage of everyone around them. This really lends itself to the idea that there is only one character in this fic, and different social obstacles/new types of batteries. Even when he got a sister, the main relevance she has had on the plot is how she messes up the protagonists plans by either having the gall to independently act or hinder him by forcing him to take into consideration the well-being of another person.

So with all that being said, both good and bad, I have some minor suggestions. A lot of what I had issue with cannot be changed without major rewrites, and that's not fair to ask if you. Instead what I would recommend is the following, firstly add tags/content warning to this story. Mark it as X-over due to the world jumping element you have introduced, Celestial stories with it VS. Celestial stories set just in Worm are probably 1:10 and would help you find new readers. Add additional tags for dark protagonist, and if you are willing to be slightly spoilerly in the tags themselves serial killing and mind control. If you don't intend to use those tags, perhaps go back and add content warnings in the chapters the abilities are introduced in case readers have hard lines they don't want to read about going forward so they know to leave the story before it's too much for them. Secondly, rewrite the summary to something more accurate. I'm not sure if you were aiming for shock value or hadn't pinned down the story's tone yet, but the current summary of, "After finding a strange book lying on his bed your average teenager from our world finds himself in a world similar yet so very different from ours. Aidan must struggle to find his place in this new world as he explores the wonders of The Celestial Grimoire". gives off an impression of "Teenager finds a book and is transported to another world. He must learn to understand the new world he finds himself in as well as understand the capabilities of the mysterious book." This is great for a generic Celestial Grimoire prompt, and even helps prepare the reader for the idea that Aidan might need to contemplate that he is in a death world, and as such become the "hard man making hard decisions". However because Aidan jumps the shark on that slippery slope, that part of the description is non-informative, and because the story is a multi cross the idea that the protagonist is only trying to understand the way this new world (singular) works is similarly an incorrect summation of the premise. I don't have any brilliant insights into what would make a good summary in terms of words, but I would say to try and consider what sort of audience you are looking for to read this fic or what sort of audience you think would enjoy this fic. People coming into this from other Celestial stories seeing the original description are going to have a much different reaction than a more targeted description of "As Aidan deals with his mind, body, and soul, being corrupted by a magic book he must deal with the impulses of being a monster. He will do whatever it takes to go home even if it damns him". It sends a very different message and would draw in a viewer looking a dark story while warning people what's about to happen. My third and final piece of constructive criticism would be to try and elaborate on abilities when they are in use, occasionally and only occasionally. There are a lot of abilities in play and often the protagonist will do something that I need to take on faith that it's within their ability to perform due to their broad skill set without any idea what perk is facilitating such a power. In just the last chapter I have no clue how they (partially) stole the Gate of Babylon, just that they could "feel something". However, like I said this only needs to be done occasionally at key moments, otherwise you would just fall into a loop of explaining how stuff was being done forever.

Finally, as a single piece of genuine criticism. The way the Celestial Grimoire is being treated makes no sense. The main character received the book from someone in a place that was presumably the Feywilds. Gilgamesh claims the book was stolen from him on his deathbed, even if this being is who stole the book, someone has to be granting Fiat to begin with. So either the being who gave Aidan the book is in charge of it, in which case it's their book to give and receive as they see fit, and Gilgamesh does not in fact own it, or a higher power owns the book, but this being had it anyways, still negating Gilgames's claim of ownership. (since he certainly didn't give Aidan a Shard of Madoka's wish while he was in another multiverse) Then you have the problem of Gilgamesh owning the Celestial Grimoire to begin with, an item that directly scales to how interesting you are. Gilgamesh had an epic written about him without the Grimoire, with it he should have conquered the Earth. This would have created a chain of events causing the world to end (unless Gilgamesh used the Grimoire to stop it) due to the convoluted nature of the Nasuverse, but regardless Gilgamesh cannot have owned the Grimoire while Fyuuki City exists. Even worse is that if the Fairy lady or a higher power is granting Fiat then they own the book, and Gilgamesh canonically accepts that he doesn't own those types of items because they aren't a treasure of man which makes this whole situation more convoluted.

I sat at the kitchen table, finger tapping on the keyboard, blank google docs with the cursor blinking back at me. I was grumbling over the tongue lashing I had received and struggling to think of something to write. I closed the computer lid with a huff and walked up the stairs deciding that a small nap would be what he needed to get the creative juices flowing. My foot bumped into a thick object as I slipped beneath the covers. Throwing the bedsheet off, I observed the moderately sized tome. It was bound in leather, and as I cracked the book open, the first page held an ornate script that described a relatively simple way to gain access to all the functions of an electronic device as well as a way to overclock a mechanical device both only requiring a touch and force of will.

Tucking the book under my arm, I padded softly downstairs and, setting the Grimoire on the table, flipped my computer lid open. Holding my breath, I focused my mind and twisted, seeing the computer scanning through half a dozen web pages, opening, and closing videos, and typing as fast as I could think. I let go of the machine and let out a long breath as I gingerly, hands trembling, picked up the excellent book that allowed me to do magic or psychic abilities as my new knowledge insisted.

I bounded up the stairs and closed my bedroom door behind me with a nudge of my hips. I curled up under the covers and flipped through the Grimoire with a wide grin that showed my two front teeth as if looking at blank pages would conjure up new miracles. Soon, however, I looked over at the small digital clock that read 10:30 and reluctantly set the book on my nightstand and shimmed into my pajama pants while tossing my shirt in my hamper. As I put my glasses on top of the tome, I curled under the covers and knew that sleep would come hard that night.

I woke up shivering, and as I stretched pulled back my hand with a hiss as they brushed the wall covered with a small layer of ice. Sliding out of bed and instinctively jerked my bare feet away from the frost-covered floor. I put on my glasses only to take them off as the lenses were coated with a thick layer of frost. I walked into the bathroom and flicked the light switch; after the lights failed to turn on, I turned to leave the room, and I saw a flicker of something significant and covered in furry scales in the bathroom mirror. Stumbling back as the creature leered at me from the mirror, I ran back to my room as I could now see my breath fogging the air. Picking up the tome peered at its clean pages with bare eyes as I could pick up a shuffling noise slowly wandering to my bedroom. However, as the door creaked open, there was a faint air displacement as frost started to creep up my pajama bottoms. I hurled myself under the bed, clutching the Grimoire tight to my chest as sounds of battle erupted from the hallway outside of my room.

A thin trickle of pee traveled down my right leg as the battling grew quieter before pressure built in the air then all noise stopped. Several agonizing minutes later, I crept out of my room and peeked around the house. Seeing my family's utter lack of presence, I held back the lump in my throat as I opened the door outside and froze as a winter wonderland surrounded me. I saw dozens of corpses, and the snow was kicked up as whatever had brought me here was still fighting. I slowly closed the door and then, in between shuddering breaths, put on some clothes fit for winter. Before I left, I grabbed a few packs of ham and a water bottle. Trekking in the opposite direction of the fight, I didn't know what was going on; however, I knew I did not want to be anywhere close to something that could fight a Warband and the person who would bring a Warband to kill a single being.

I walked long enough to be free of the snow and emerged into a small clearing. I stopped as I beheld the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. She was singing softly under her breath as she sat on a stump; however, her eyes snapped over to form when I stepped into the clearing. Letting out a melodic giggle, she gestured for me to sit next to her. Dumbfounded, I staggered over and sat down next to her. As she started to run her fingers through my hair, I untensed and relaxed.
"So what brings you to my neck of the woods" her voice rang out like wood chimes from behind me.
"I was uh walking and found you miss," my nervous voice croaked out
"Please don't call me miss; that makes me feel old."
Letting out a small chuckle, I said, "Fair, fair, so do this with everyone you meet."
"No, just the most interesting ones; you are far from home, aren't you." Caught off guard from the sudden question, I slowly nodded
"Is it safe to presume I'm not on earth anymore?"
She answered with another tinkling laugh, "That is safe to assume. I could get you closer, back in the mortal realm and away from here." Gently detangling her perfectly sculpted hands from my hair, I turned to look her in the eyes and took in her elvish features for the first time.
"What would that cost me?" I enquired
"Nothing much. I would request you to use this and a single favor." She said, holding up my Grimoire before handing it back to me.
"What would the favor entail."
"Nothing much. I would not give you a task beyond your abilities."
"What are my chances of escaping from this plane unaided."
"Slim, and I doubt the next deal will be so generous."
I turned the bargain over in my head for a few minutes, keen of my dwindling supply of food and lack of information.
"Fine." I ground out, "It's a deal."
Her face brightened, and my shoulders relaxed as she held her hand. "It's a deal" as we shook on it, the world blurred around me as I found myself flat on my ass, fingers white-knuckled around the tome in a filthy alleyway. Rising to my feet, I held the book under my arm and walked out into the streets. I knew that I would need to find a place to live before even starting to find a way back to my city. As I walked through the crisp spring air, I could see the shops, most of which were closed, and the sea of which an oil rig was covered with a shimmering blue bubble. That fact niggled at my mind as I kept an eye out for an ATM.

I found it around half an hour later and checked to see that only a few people walked about in scant morning hours. I placed my hand on the ATM and twisted, sending my mind into it and directing it to send out 5,000 dollars of assorted bills. I took a deep breath and started walking away and across towards the abandoned section of the city. Picking up a newspaper, the date read Feburay 28th and the front page held the headline. Simurgh drove off by heroes Eidolon and Legend, Canberra, to be domed. At this, I froze because only one world I knew held a winged angel and costumed men named Eidolon and Legend. Taking a deep breath, I handed back the newspaper and speedwalking what I knew to be the Docks now. A brief 15-minute walk later, I found a building empty except for a few dirty needles and refuse.

Slumping down and holding my knees to my chest, I let out shaky and ugly sobs as I realized where I was and what happened washed over me. Making bargains with Fae, finding strange Artifacts, and finding myself on the hell world known as Earth Bet, where horrible monsters roamed, there is a conspiracy holding control over the world, and life is cheap. I shot to my feet as I remembered something possibly lethal, but I had to try anyway.
"Contessa," My raspy, choked voice forced out, I waited for a few minutes, and I sighed in relief when nothing happened. I knew that simply sitting around feeling sorry would do nothing for me, so I scooped up the Grimoire and opened it. As I started searching through empty pages, I saw nothing new however I felt something bubbling up under the book's pages, a feeling of potential. Setting the book aside, I knew that the first thing I needed was to get set up, and while robbing ATMs would work, for now, a place to live would be a necessity, and while the warehouse could serve, for now, I doubted that it would remain safe for long.

As if on cue, my stomach rumbled, reminding me that I had not eaten for at least six hours, so some food would not go unappreciated. I pulled out the ham and water and made myself a ham sandwich by placing a ham slice between two other ham slices.
"Step 1 is to find a place to live and a stable source of income," I said in between sips of water and bites of ham.
"Step 2 is to figure out what the hell this book is and how it can help me. Lastly, I suppose it would be to find a way home and don't die" I let out a mirthless chuckle before standing up and sticking the water bottle in my pocket. I walked out and saw the streets start to fill with various people. Keeping my head down and my book tucked under my sweatshirt left me untouched as I headed into the better part of town. Jacking another ATM net me another few grand as I scouted for a cheap apartment. Finding one with an old flaking sign that proclaimed that rooms were available and no questions would be asked—knocking on a ground floor office designated as the landlords' office. Rapping my knuckles on the door, I clasped my hand and waited as mumbled swearing erupted from the room. The door was cracked open to reveal an aging white man with a receding hairline and breath that stank of alcohol. I did my best to hold in my disgusted face.
"What do you want" he slurred out.
"An apartment, sir," I said with a slight bow of my head
"One grand a month you pay on the first of the month." He said, holding a hand out expectantly. I promptly placed the requested amount in his hand, after which he closed the door, and soon the sounds of keys ringing filled the hall. After a few minutes, the door was opened again, and a small grubby key was shoved roughly into my hand.
"Rooms 324, don't be too loud."
The door was then slammed into my face. Letting out an annoyed sigh, I started the climb to my new room. The apartment building had seen better days and looked only a sneeze away from collapsing. However, the upside was I now had a place with clean water and heat, which was the most important. The lock took a few sharp turns to open before I could attempt opening the door, which to a firm shove from my shoulder before it would let me into my new room. Barebones and tiny, it still had a kitchenette, a bathroom I had to duck to access, and a lumpy bed with no pillow; however, it was still mine and a relatively safe place to lay my head.

As I sat on the bed, touching the book, I felt a burning in my thought as my vocal cords burned and my voice rasped before smoothing out into a melodious sound, not too unlike the Fae I met early. Letting out a slight hum. A small bucktoothed smile crept onto my face as I realized I could sing and do well at it. Checking the small clock in the hallway, I realized I had hours to burn before I could utilize my newest power. Flipping through my book, I saw that my new ability enhanced my voice to truly potent portions enabling me to sing to cause people to forget their fear and fight to the death for my cause. As I let out a Do Mi So in perfect tune that resonated slightly, I remembered a new issue, Canary, the superpowered singer sent to hell on earth for many reasons; however, the main one was her suggestive singing voice.

I should be safe as long I didn't sing on the battlefield. As if that would ever happen. With newfound confidence, I started to wander the city to get a sense of the city. A quick stop at the library turned into a several hour-long Wikipedia dive as I went down the rabbit hole to find the differences between my earth and Earth Bet. The U.S used dollar coins instead of bills, did not use pennies anymore, the cold war ended earlier, nuclear weapons were nonexistent, and a partly built moon base.

While finding all of this out was fascinating, it did not help me out all that much, and I was shown out of the library as they closed up behind me. Walking back to my apartment in the dark, I heard an aborted scream, then a gasp as I passed an alleyway. A woman was on the ground clutching her stomach while a tall rat-faced Asian man stood above her and gasping. I grit my teeth as I knew I should back away. However, I slipped the heavy tome into my hands as I stepped into the alley and belted out the first song lyric I could remember.

"Hey, Kid!"
My voice came out deep and self-assured as my hands trembled. The woman pushed herself up as the first lyrics swept over her with an almost physical force.
"Do I have your attention?"
The man turned and hefted his crowbar while dropping the wallet he had rifled through. The woman unknown to him mainly was to her feet, know.
"The fuck you want?" The man said in a nasal voice. Ignoring him and taking another step forward, the following lyric came out even better and made him twist his face into confusion. As I walked towards him, music came out smooth and filled myself and the woman with confidence. The mugger just swung the crowbar towards me to scare me off.

However, in that moment of vulnerability, the woman grabbed his head and slammed it into the brick wall. A splatter of blood sprayed out as the man dropped his crowbar. I darted forward, the song still emerging from me as I picked up the crowbar and slammed it down twice and three times on the man's head, splitting it open like a watermelon. At the visceral display, I dropped the crowbar and hurled it all over what remained of the man's head. As the mystical property of my song faded, the woman shrieked, face twisted into anger and fear, and ran past me, almost bowling me over as I gagged at the corpse and the copper taste of blood that had splattered all over my hands and a bit in my month. I stumbled back home after picking up the tome. I slammed my door shut and washed my hands and mouth. Dropping the book on the floor next to my bed, I fell into it, dead tired after the adrenaline faded, and tried to sleep, knowing it would come difficult that night.

Powers Gained
Psychic Abilities - Cyberkinesis:The cyberkinetic will never need to remember another password again, as this level of power can override the need for one, and any other code besides. The psychic can force a computer to do anything it normally could, from granting them admin access, to erasing data, or forging emails with an account on the system. The more secure a given computer is, the harder it is to manipulate thus
The psychic can now force a computer or other machine to outperform itself, making it more effective at its function than should be possible for it, at the cost of damaging the electronic

Song-Maiden:You were born with a beautiful voice and an amazing talent for song. Other people picked up on this, and all your life you've received formal training to enhance your singing even further, and turn it to more nefarious purposes. When used on the field of battle, your songs can fill soldiers with vast amounts of courage, hope and a will to fight, clearing them of any concerns like surrender, retreat, or hesitation and ensuring they'll fight to the death for your cause or the cause of your superiors as long as you continue to sing. Your voice alone can turn the very tide of battle. Restrained and judicious use can mitigate the downsides to this and be used heroically, but abuse will see you reviled as a witch or a monster for all the senseless death you cause.

I suggest you edit this there are too many glued paragraphs, it can be a turn off for new readers

Chapter 31
Author's Note: I have gone back and fixed the formatting for the early chapters, I have also cleaned them up. In addition, I have changed chapter 29 to fix major errors on my part that were pointed out. Thank you to the people who gave feedback. Now on with your semi-regular programming

Warning: Brainwashing, Zouken Matou and all that implies

I sent a Caladbolg ll spiraling into the front of the house; it slammed into the door and reduced it along with the surrounding area to splinters.

Walking inside, I didn't transform; I needed my soul gem to recharge, and becoming a witch now would be one of the worst times possible.

Looking around, the house was decrepit and run down. I didn't know where the base was, so I started to search. I heard skittering sounds and a slight cough behind me a few minutes into my search.

Turning around, I saw the decrepit form of Zouken Matou. Raising an eyebrow, I started to speak before he could. "I'm just searching for Sakura. Tell me where she is, and I'll leave."

Frowning, the worm that walks spoke in an ancient voice. "I ask that you leave; I have business to attend."

As we looked at each other, I could hear the clicking of tiny feet walking around me. He seemed to be planning to attack me if I did not leave.

Raising my hand, I sent out a gout of Celestial Flame. It wouldn't put Zouken down for good, but it would give him a hell of a hurt.

As the brilliant fire swept over him, he screamed, and his body collapsed into hundreds of tiny wormlike beings. The worms scattered, shrieking as they burned.

Walking away from the beings, I almost slammed into another person. He held a hastily packed suitcase in one arm and looked at me, eyes wide behind blue hair.

Looking around, I didn't see anybody else. This was strange as I knew Byakuya was Shinji's father and would presumably bring his son. I didn't know much else about him, though.

Grabbing his shoulder, I pushed him against the wall ignoring the squeak of pain he made. "Where is Sakura?" I asked.

The man's eyes widened, and after several seconds of spluttering, he pointed towards the back of the house. Peering around the corner, I saw the door he pointed at.

RealisingReleasing him, he grabbed his suitcase and ran, almost tripping over his feet a few times before I heard the door open and slam shut as he fled.

Scowling, I walked towards the back door and threw it open. I heard the sound of thousands of bugs squirming in the basement.

Walking down the steps, I saw worms piled high in a pit. I could also see a few strands of purple hair that lay about. Raising a hand, I conjured daggers and sent them toward the worms, scattering them.

I reached a hand into the biggest pile of worms and pulled a waifish form from under them. Looking at Sakura, I heard a faint roaring in my non-existent ears.

She was conscious, but her eyes were glazed over, and she didn't respond when I picked her up. Striding towards the stairs, I raised a hand and pulled deep, my rage empowering me.

Celestial Flame spread from my fingers like a flamethrower and engulfed the basement. As I walked towards the front of the house, I could see the fire climb.

As I exited the front of the house, I felt somebody slam into my legs. Stumbling, I turned around; I saw a child around six or seven with blue wavy hair.

It was Shinji, and as we looked at each other, he started to speak, the words tumbling out before becoming stronger. "H-Hello, can I come with you? My dad left me behind."

I wasn't a good person, but this pissed me off. While it would be smarter to leave him behind, I couldn't. My jaw twitched as I nodded and opened the path.

Shifting the path behind me, we walked towards my house. The next step was to find Kariya. I could use Sola-Ui and her skills to promise to remove the worms from both to assist in getting his aid.

"Shinji, I need you to head inside and grab something for Sakura to wear," I told him as I gently placed her on the grass; she twitched, eyes slowly clearing up.

Shinji nodded as he walked inside. I saw 5.0 sitting on the grass, eyes cast towards the path that led out of here. A few minutes later, Shinji came back out with some simple clothes.

It was too early for Shinji to have done something, and I felt creepy at the thought of dressing a young girl, so I turned to Shinji and asked him.

"Shinji, could you please dress your sister? I'll be getting help to make sure she will be ok." He looked hesitant for a moment, but as I mentioned help, he nodded and started to help Sakura get dressed.

I walked over to the circle containing Sola-Ui. I would be using Brainwashing to get her to work for me. I did need to figure out what personality I would be giving her.

A servant's mind would work. She would be the same except for the fact she worked for me. I did need to figure out the details.

The issue was that it was a false personality and not true mind rewriting. She could snap free if harmed, and if I gave her a servile personality, she would likely have little to no initiative.

Shrugging, I started casting; I would cross that bridge when I came to it. The ritual was simple and leaped from my lips as Sola-Ui twitched monetarily as the spell took hold.

As I dispelled the circle, she blinked slowly before rising to her feet unsteadily, looking like she had just woken up.

The Grimore's power grew as her eyes caught sight of me. New and old information surged into my mind. My fingers twitched as I remembered the strings of a violin they played years ago.

I could now see where I had gone wrong and ached to fix those errors, but that would have to wait. I returned my focus to Sola-Ui, who seemed to be relaxing from a curtsy and was waiting, arms clasped behind her back.

"What tools do you need to perform spiritual surgery?" I asked; she blinked for a moment before rattling off dozens of supplies.

The vast majority were things that you could find in a surgery room. A few were more exotic and required her to describe them in detail as I conjured them from Dust.

It was fortunate that I had directed my simulacrum to grab Kayneth's supplies as quite a few of the more complex items were packed away with his other mystic codes.

Soon enough, a small room was set up inside the house. The house was not a mansion or anything of the sort, but it did have plenty of spare rooms.

As I walked back outside, I could see that Sakura was slowly looking around while being embraced by Shinji. Walking toward them, I ignored Sakura's flinch and sat down.

"I'm sorry to break this off so soon, but we need to get those worms out before Zouken tries to hurt you," I said, looking at both children.

Shinji flinched while Sakura gazed at me with apathetic eyes. Reaching out a hand, I offered it to Sakura; she very slowly dragged her hand and placed it limply in mine.

If before her eyes were glazed over, then apathetic, I could now see the tiniest glimmer of hope. Giving her a soft smile, I stood up and walked towards the room that had been set up.

Inside, Sola-Ui was examining the tools according to her specifications, but I could see a few changes she had made. She had shifted the room around and changed how certain things were placed.

I had no clue what any of the differences made, but she was the expert, not me. Guiding Sakura in, I allowed Shinji in and watched as Sola-Ui talked Sakura through what she would be doing.

I could see that most of the magical babble was going over her head, but she seemed to enjoy the fact that this was being explained to her.

Sakura was soon undressed and lying on the surgical table. Mentally I bemoaned the loss of so much Dust, but it was worth draining my meager reserves dry.

Sola-Ui then picked up a scalpel and got to work. She was quick and efficient in cutting open and removing the worms. As time passed, she filled the jar next to her.

A few hours later, Sakura was sitting, legs dangling over the edge of the table clothed. I could tell even now the worms' changes to her.

When she hopped down and walked around under the direction of Sola-Ui, she was no longer moving gingerly. It would take a while for her to recover mentally, but it would happen.

Closing the door behind the new guest room where Shinji and Sakura had gone to sleep, I slumped against the wall, sighing.

I now had to find Kariya, which would typically be very hard, but now he had a massive mana source hovering over his shoulder at all times.

Lancelot would be in astral mode most of the time, making it more challenging as that masked Servant's output, and I didn't want to wait until he got into a fight because that would cause other issues.

Standing up, I walked to the table and sat down, rubbing my fingers on my temple. It didn't do much, but the placebo was nice, and it was a habit.

I could ask the kids, but I doubted they knew the address of their uncle, doubly so since he had moved back only a year ago. My metaknowledge was also ruined as the banquet of kings happened early, and I killed Lancer.

As I was thinking, my head shot up; I had the leftover crest worms, which could be used to find Kariya as he had them implanted. I would need to get my hands on an Origin Bullet sometime to finish off Zouken.

Growling slightly at the thought of Zouken, I stood up and walked towards the surgery room. I saw Sola-Ui diligently cleaning her tools; as she turned and gave a curtsey, I waved her off and grabbed the jar containing the crest worms.

It was a relatively simple operation, almost identical to the other locater rituals I did. It was slightly more annoying as the worms squirmed and attempted to flee, but I was able to complete it before long.

Soon enough, I had a new Dust-made compass twisting around widely. I assumed it was because I was technically in another dimension, and it couldn't track him.

Opening a Path to the beach, I walked out while looking at my compass. As soon as I stepped onto Earth, the compass's needle snapped towards the city and stayed locked on.

That meant step one was complete; I now needed to determine how to approach this. Kariya was unstable; depending on how I arrived, he could flip out and send Lancelot after me.

I had the same issue that Gilgamesh did when facing Lancelot. It was even worse because I didn't have the mana to just throw more things at him, and my primary method of damage was Unlimted Bladeworks. In addition, he had Magic Resistance which further exacerbated the problem.

I could run, but that meant I would be down his support, and he would chase me to retrieve Shinji and Sakura. Opening a Path back to my house, I walked until I heard strange sounds.

As I walked into the clearing, I saw Komainu and Shinji playing some kind of game while Sakura and Sola-Ui watched. It was clear that neither Komainu nor Shinji were super interested in the game, but they were both attempting to cheer Sakura up.

It didn't seem to be working all that well, as while her lips were curved up in a facsimile of a grin, her eyes were still mostly dead. The Grimoire grew as I strode forward with a grin on my lips.

As the power settled in my bones, empty of any new powers, I plopped down and gestured for the other kids to sit in front of me. Komainu and Shinji darted over while Sakura shuffled over. As they sat down, I cleared my throat and spoke.

"In a bit, we will be traveling to meet your uncle. He will take care of you, and I will ensure that you remain safe; Zouken will not bother you."

My voice was firm and displayed none of my hate for Zouken. While part of my hate was that what he did was inefficient, the sheer nature of his crimes still disturbed me.

He adopted a child only to defile her in the worst way possible, and when people tried to help, he twisted them to torment them further. I was by no means a good person. I had kidnapped people to serve as batteries and brainwashed people to serve me but what Zouken did was beyond the pale.

As Shinji and Komainu darted off, I saw that spark of hope in Sakura's eyes grow slightly more prominent and gave her a soft smile as she walked back to watch the other two play.

Play Along With Me
Music is the soul of mankind… and, well, your soul isn't in your body anymore so it makes perfect sense you'd be good at it, right? What? That doesn't make any sense? Well, who cares! Pick a single mundane musical instrument. You are now amazingly talented at playing said instrument. You can, if you wish, give magical abilities you have a 'musical' aesthetic by having the sounds of your chosen instrument play along with whatever sounds your magic makes...though this won't add anything except a personal touch to it, mind you. Go forth, Jumper. And play.

Chapter 32
Dusting my hands of non-existent dirt, I stood up. Walking inside, I decided to wait a bit before heading off to meet Kariya. The kids deserved some time off, which would also be nice.

I didn't have any Dust, another issue; it was nearing the morning, so we could leave once 6.0 and 7.0 came back.

Walking outside, I noticed that Sola-Ui was still sitting on the lawn with a faint smile; I frowned as I regarded her. I needed her to heal Kariya, but the question was, would I still want her after?

There was no doubting that her skill was undeniable, but Brainwashing could be broken with pain, and that could cause issues at the worst times.

I could possibly bypass it by hypnotizing her not to feel pain, but there is a very good reason humans feel pain. I remember tales of people maiming themself because adrenaline overcame them and dulled their nerves.

Humming, I decided to push that thought aside. I could figure that out later; for now, I leaned back onto the grass, laced my finger behind my head, and closed my eyes.

As I slowly woke up, I heard stifled giggling. Keeping my eyes closed, I perked my non-existent ears. It sounded like Komainu was trying to hide laughter as she approached me.

I decided to let this go on as I forced down a smile. It wouldn't do to give away that I was awake. As I heard the sound of feet walking through the grass, I waited.

I almost immediately regretted it as I felt two knees drive themself right below my ribs. While this was a standard way younger siblings woke up their elder siblings, this was a bit different.

The difference was that I had nothing below my ribs, so Komainu was stuck. Looking around, I saw Shinji laughing while Sakura giggled.

Komainu looked around in slight panic as she tried vainly to free herself. Signing, she flopped over as her knees fidgeted around in my epigastric.

Flopping my right hand over my forehead, I cried out, all melodramatic. "Oh, woe is me. I have been trapped; whatever shall I do."

This caused another round of laughter from the children, Komainu included. With a wry grin, I teleported out, causing her to flop forward on her face now that my ribs did not prop her up.

As the laughter subsided, I saw two figures enter the clearing. 6.0 and 7.0 were back, each holding a small sack of Dust. Giving me a small wave, 6.0 handed me the sacks while speaking.

"I see you picked up some strays, boss." Giving him a look, I grabbed the sack he and 7.0 offered. Flicking my wrists, I gave them a shooing motion while speaking.

"For your information, I am reuniting them with their uncle. Now I need you to get more Dust filters set up; I'm sure I'll need it."

Raising a skeletal eyebrow, they both nodded and walked off. Turning back, I saw that the laughter had suddenly stopped as Sakura hid behind Shinji.

Sighing, I walked over to them before bending down and looking them in the eyes. Speaking softly, I attempted to reassure them.

"Those are just my workers; they aren't actual skeletons." Leaning further in, I whispered while acting like I was revealing some dreadful secret.

"They just look like spooky skeletons because they feel inadequate. The normal look like magic blobs, but a blob that can barely move isn't scary at all."

Rubbing his chin, Shinji nodded as Sakura peaked around his body, looking slightly relieved. Standing up, I clapped my hands together while speaking further.

"Anyway, it's time. Follow me, and you'll soon be reunited with your uncle."

Nodding, they followed behind me as I strode out of the home and followed the compass's needle. While the compass spun about wildly, it soon settled in one spot as we traveled through the streets, and soon we arrived at a small run-down house.

Knocking on the door, I took a step back and waited. Soon enough, the door opened a smidge, and I could see an eye peek out.

Giving him a wave, I started to talk in my most disarming tone. "Hello, I'm here to give back your cousins and possibly talk strategy."

His eye twitched, and the door quivered as his hand spasmed. Slowly the door opened, and I let Shinji and Sakura in first. Both of them relaxed slightly as they saw Kariya.

I followed behind them as was all sat around the table. The kids sans Komainu huddled around him, relieved. Seeing this, I decided that I could wait.

A few minutes later, the kids let go of him, and he turned to look at me, speaking in a creaky voice warped by the ravages of Zouken's work. "What do you want?"

"Your assistance," I replied calmly before elaborating. "If possible, I'll take Berserker off your hands before setting you up a meeting with Aoi and Rin. Tokiomi has been killed, and you can reunite Sakura with her sister and give them a worthwhile childhood together."

Rocking back, his eyes widened. I had walked in and offered everything he had ever wanted on a silver platter. Raising a hand, I continued to speak.

"Now, if I can't take Berserker off your hands, I will need your help. I have a few methods of ensuring you don't kneel over dead, but I'll be getting those worms out of you no matter what. In addition, I will be securing a method to kill Zouken permanently."

As I spoke, the Grimoire grew, granting me new might. This strange sensation caused me to adjust myself as I felt lighter, as if something had been lifted.

Pushing it out of my mind, for now, I waited for his response as I leaned back. I could tell his mind was working furiously for a few minutes before he nodded. Seeing his acceptance, I reached out a hand for him to take as I spoke.

"When I take your hand, I will attempt to sever Berserker's contract with you; then, I will transfer the command seals over. This could hurt, so be ready for that."

As he took my hand, I focused and, over the course of a few seconds, destroyed the link of flowing mana between the two of them. I then reached out with Blood of Kings to the two simmering sparks of magic that dotted his hand.

Pulling them to me, I reached out with mana towards the ephemeral form of Lancelot. Almost grabbing the line from me, I could immediately feel the drain.

While not a major deal when he was astralized, I could tell he would take a considerable amount. It would likely be better to link him up to the mana furnaces as the gem I used to siphon batteries had a limited throughput.

That was something else I could do. By separating my batteries, I could improve my throughput now that I had more batteries. Pushing that thought to the back of my head, I stood up and opened a Path with a wave of my arm.

"This will take you to my house; it resides in another dimension and is practically impossible to find. There I have the specialist who can heal you," I stated while waiting for Kariya to move.

Standing up, he shuffled off into the Path. Sakura and Shinji followed behind him, both clearly worried for him. As they stepped onto the Path, Lancelot, Komainu, and I followed and shifted it behind us.

Soon we reached the house, opening the door for them. I gestured for them to sit down. As they sat down, I turned to face Kariya as I started to talk.

"Once she removes the worms, what is your plan? I can have you meet up with Aoi and Rin, but it's up to you."

His non-dead eye flicked up before he looked back at the table, thinking. Slowly running his fingers over the polished wood, he opened and closed his mouth a few times before speaking.

"I would like to meet her on my own. If this will work out, I can't show up with a Servant."

Nodding, I hummed in acknowledgment and walked into the room that served as Sola-Ui's bedroom. Knocking, I waited, and it wasn't long before the door cracked open.

"Sola-Ui, I have a person for you to heal. They will need crest worms removed."

She gave a nod before speaking with Kariya about the procedure. Soon enough, he was walking towards the surgery room, helped by Sola-Ui and followed by Shinji and Sakura.

Rubbing the bridge of my nose, I decided to let them get the surgery done without any interruptions. My next trick would be to hook the mana furnaces to Lancelot and grab Ryuunosuke's command seals.

Walking outside, I strode to where 5.0 was taking a nap under a tree. Scowling at him, I walked past him and reached out toward Ryuunosuke. Pushing a smidge of mana into the circle, I turned it off.

I loomed over him as he looked confused before picking him up by the front of his shirt. As I grabbed him, I focused on the three sparks on his hand. Pulling on them, they vanished, and I could feel the new ones form on my hand.

Looking into his eyes, I slammed him with Hypnosis causing him to fall asleep before I dropped him to the ground. Shouting over to 5.0, I strode over to the magic furnaces.

"Oi lazy bum! I'm gonna need you to retool Ryuunosuke's circle."
Blinking slowly, he got to his feet and shambled over with the gait of somebody who had just woken up.

As he got to work, I squatted in front of the circles that held the magic furnaces. While discounting them would lead to a drop in my capabilities, powering Lancelot would be more than worth it.

While an intricate ritual would usually be needed to connect an entirely different source of mana to a person, Lancelot was not a person. So I could, with relative ease, grab three strands of mana and poke him with them.

He then grabbed them, and soon enough, the furnaces were powering him. I sighed in relief as the strain was lightened on me. Speaking to Lancelot, I sat down.

"Lancelot materialize in front of me and stand still." When I finished talking, a tall black armor-bound figure shrouded in black mist appeared. I grinned as I felt the slightest uptick in the strain as the vast majority of the upkeep cost was offloaded.

Dusting my hands off, I gestured for Lancelot to dematerialize before walking back inside. I knew the operation would likely take around thirty minutes to an hour.

Rummaging around in the cupboard, I frowned. The house had come stocked with supplies, but it would be enough for a few days if I were hosting more people.

Mentally marking down a shopping trip, I grabbed a few teabags and put a kettle on the stove, which I then flicked on. Settling down in the chair, I leaned back and closed my eyes with my hands resting on my stomach.

I could use this short time to rest my eyes, or at least until the tea was ready. Soon I heard a kettle shrieking, so I shuffled over to make myself a cup.

As I poured the cup, the Grimoire swelled with new power. As the power ebbed and I took a sip of mint tea, I could see faint flickers of red light twirl around my bones before disappearing inside me.

As the light hit me, I quivered as my mind felt the agony woven through the light. In contrast to the suffering from which this energy was forged, it seemed to soothe me.

The energy faded away, but I could still tell that the wellspring of health and agony was waiting just under the surface, ready for me to call upon it.

Slumping back into my chair, I brought the steaming mint tea to my lips and took a long sip while waiting.

Powers Gained
Unbound Casting
By keeping yourself untethered, it seems that your magic has similar freedoms. Your magic does not seem to suffer the same ill effects of counterspells or antimagic fields as other mages might. Regardless of the mystical circumstances, it seems that you will be able to cast your spells at full effect so long as you manage to complete them properly (note; You may still be stopped or interrupted during your casting, and some creatures still have innate resistance to magic which this does not bypass. Your magic will simply be unimpeded by any ambient effects or willful acts of countermagic.)

Arcana Of Renewal
How do you think the Ardent's survive being strapped to pillars and burned? Because the same power they call upon to destroy can be used to heal. As an Arcana, you can heal injuries quickly.
