The Winds and the Mage

we will learn all of those.

plus we are traveling with a master. if we encounter those kinds of threats, then no matter who we pick he knows how to handle them far better then us or our friends

[X] a Magister with white hair and eyes visibly crackling with Azyr
She uses her staff as a cane, visibly putting her weight on it as she walks. You check, but no -even when you are trying your best to not use your magesight, her eyes are still pits of lightning.
[X] Skywalk: Allows you to walk on air for a few seconds, enough to cover about twenty meters at a run.
[X] Aethyric Armour: Magic wraps around you and acts as armor, with effectiveness based on your mastery of magic.
[X] Move: You can move unsecured light objects around at medium range, and force equivalent to a shove at short range.
[X] Silence: Makes someone unable to speak for a few seconds at short range. Interrupts spellcasting.

Gotta go with the old wizened mentor, as for the spells my thinking is Skywalk is both a useful mobility tool and practice to when we get full on flight later from the Celestial Lore spells, Move is good utility (who doesnt want to grab a remote without rising from the couch?), Aethyric Armor isnt very exciting, but it keeps us alive until we can get those more exciting spells, and Silence has amazing utility, from preventing spellcasting to sneaking if needed (or just making someone shut up so we can speak)

[X] Dispel: Allows you to attempt to Dispel an ongoing spell within short range. Cannot be used to try to banish demons or unbind the undead.
[X] Magic Lock: Enchants a lock or bolt you touch to be impossible to pick or force open.
[X] Silence: Makes someone unable to speak for a few seconds at short range. Interrupts spellcasting.
[X] Skywalk: Allows you to walk on air for a few seconds, enough to cover about twenty meters at a run.

I gotta be honest, I can't think of who this mystery Magister may be, but I'll vote for him anyway. I might need a little more time to ponder the spells.

I think Mage armor is a much better pick than Magic Lock, because as a wizard we're extremely vulnerable is someone shoots at or try to hit us.

You voted for Silence twice (which will not get counted more than once) rather than Aethyric Armour.

Yeah, this...why are people picking Magic Lock? It doesn't tend to come up a lot, while Aethyric Armour could be lifesaving. I can understand prioritizing Silence or Skywalk, but Magic Lock confuses me.

All the Magisters seem interesting to me.

Okay... my thinking is the Bursar means Cassie - mind if I call her Cassie? - has a top-down view of the Celestial Order's administration. On paper being a Magister Lord means being an embodiment of the Wind one has studied, but leadership and politics are going to be as much a fixture in her Apprenticeship.

The old woman with Arcane Marks might be similarly gifted, but I suspect she might be more inclined to make sure Cassie doesn't make the same mistakes she did. She has that potential, but Petty and Lesser spells are different from Azyr spells. Perfection might be stressed with her.

The middle-aged man with scars suggest he might try to fast-track Cassie into being a Battlemage; her size isn't ideal, but anything's possible with magic. He might have seen his fair share of combat and might try to include that along with magic, maybe have his share of stories to tell for when fighting breaks out.

That leaves the young Magister, which I think are going to get along swimmingly. Compared to the older and more experienced masters, this one would likely balance expectation with personal knowledge. We can expect her to be like a big sister to Cassie just as she's her teacher.

ah, something I wanted to ask you guys yesterday, but forgot. Do you like the current formatting ? Copy-pastes from grammarly have the very annoying tendency to triple every line breaks, so I have to redo it anyways, but would you like more or less substantial line breaks between scenes/ lines of dialog ?
