Hello everybody, and welcome to The Web of Peter Parker. I hope we all have a good time together here.
Peter walked slowly, trying not to make too much noise. The Monster under his bed was keeping him up, and he didn't want to be alone with it. He traced his hand against the wall so he could tell where he was going. It was dark, and it was cold, and he didn't want to draw attention to himself. Seconds passed that felt like hours as he walked down the hall on his toes, eventually reaching his parent's room.
Luckily, the door wasn't shut all the way. It was just a crack open, so he wouldn't have to turn the knob. Less noisy.
He pushed, and as the door creaked open he winced, certain that he woke them up. Yet, when he pushed his head in, they weren't there. No familiar lumps under the sheets, no heads resting on pillows. Emptiness.
thump
A noise? From downstairs?
"Tr ........... lives! .... Monster!"
There were ... there were people talking? Why doesn't that seem right?
Peter stepped out of the room and turned the corner. He could see a light was on in the floor below. With each step down the stairs his stomach felt like it was going to fall out.
The volume dropped. The only noise was that of Peter's feet tapping against the floor and a sound of deep breathing from beyond the door to the living room.
Don't ... I shouldn't be here. I should go back to sleep.
He stepped forward and pushed open the door. In front of him stood his parent's in rumpled clothes, a bead of sweat running down his fathers eyes, and the Monster from under his bed was standing right in front of them cloaked in shadows and fur.
Dad ... Dad stepped forward. His foot made a loud thump sound as it came down and the floor creased. He raised his hands and opened his mouth as if about to try and placate the Beast, but the Monster moved first.
Peter sprang out of bed in a cold sweat, his clothes so wet they were practically sticking to him. In a matter of seconds he was in the bathroom trying to wash the dream away.
THUMP THUMP THUMP
The noise scared him so much following the dream that he thought he was in danger. He brought his hands up to defend himself quicker then he moved his head up, resulting in him punching himself in the face.
"Peter, you okay?"
His Uncle asked him as he knocked on the door.
"Owww. I'm fine Uncle Ben, I just really had to go to the bathroom."
"Are you hurt?"
"It was nothing, you just surprised me. Smacked into something. Give a guy some warning before you start breaking that door down next time, will you? Almost gave me a heart attack."
A chuckle was heard through the door.
"You kids can't go around surprising people my age, ya know. We might break a hip or something."
"Well, your sense of humor's as rotten as ever. If you were actually funny I might get worried."
"I'll be down in a second, alright? Just gotta jump in the shower."
"Take your time kiddo. Your Aunt's busy making a breakfast of champions down there, if you take too long then I might get to steal some of your food."
"If you touch my pancakes I'll have your head! Don't you think I don't know about em, I can smell em from up here."
As Peter heard his Uncle make his way down the stairs the smile that had built up during the conversation disappeared. He stared at the mirror, looking into the eyes of his reflection.
"C'mon Peter, gotta get your head in the game. Today's a big day for you, once in a lifetime."
Today is
[] Interview for an internship down at Omnitech, where Mom and Dad used to work. It'll look great on my resume, and it has some really fascinating research being done, I could learn a lot there. Plus, it'll help me learn more about my parent's, maybe even figure out why they were killed? Who killed them?
[] Future Fair, with the best and brightest minds in the planet. All the big shots are gonna be there. Charles Xavier, Norman Osborn, Curt Conners, Reed Richards, Hank Pym, Otto Octavius, Tony Stark, Hank McCoy, and dozens more. There's even a section for people who registered ahead of time, like me, to show off some of the things they've worked on.
[] First day back in High School after summer break. Chance for me to turn my life around, make some friends, maybe even get a girlfriend. Then the city exploded.
[] Some of the pictures you've taken are being exhibted in the MET.
[] Write in? (Note, send me a private message first. I have to okay the plot details behind the write in)

EDITED: FOR EXPLOSIONS
It's kind of funny. Peter is a genius and in the comics, could have made a fortune with his web slingers. However, the main thing about Peter Parker's story is his underdog archetype, his poor roots, and fridging his female significant others. But as modern times has advanced, its more and more nonsensical that he couldn't easily make a patent and live rich and comfortable. Which is why they made it organic in the Toby Macguire movies and played his genius rather low key. The new movies takes him inventing the webslingers out all together.

Surprised none of you want to unravel the secrets behind your parent's death, which honestly is a path with a lot of science behind it anyway.
Future Fair has the best chance for immediate money and possible connections with a large sample size of heroes/villains. Omnitech requires more work to get the payoff you want, but if you play things right you can become one of the really really big time players and save a lot of lives.
Going to school was Crow's write in from before I started the thread. It's basically Infamous. Has the most potential to really shake up the setting, though for good or ill it can go either way. Definitely interesting.
Someone should absolutely do a counterpart quest in which it's a Prototype/Spiderman crossover. XD
Also solving parents murder is so cliche. Go for the money and/or explosions. Also crow, you've convinced me. Lets set this sucker on fire. (And ironically call ourselves Electro if we get Infamous electricity powers.)
To be more specific, there's an explosion above Manhattan. A few blocks wrecked, and a good deal of damage is done to the city, and the explosion sorta did some damage to the power lines so Powers out for a week or two, but it's more or less structurally intact.
On the other hand, the explosion gave off some quasi-mystical energies, so people are randomly getting powers and/or dying/turning into monsters/exploding, so the city has sorta been quarantined.

Gonna be honest, it's gonna be hard to not at least partially solve your parent's murder no matter what path you go down. You're gonna get at least part of the puzzle almost no matter what.
Omnitech is good for getting the whole puzzle instead of just pieces of it, and for the opportunity to prevent a lot of bad things/make everything worse forever.
Future Fair is me just shouting "You want powers? There ya go! Wanna potentially be rich/help people with inventions? Definitely possible! Wanna meet some cool hero/villain? There they are! Plot Point? There's a million! Is all this science in one place going to destroy the universe? Maybe!"
15:14 everyone is playing like that trying to outspy one another so they negate each other out, they still dont understand that no plan survives contact with the enemy and Peter is the Wildest Card around.

Come on, a Mutant, a Goblin, a Lizard, three scientists and a drunk geniusplayboy walk into a fair. how is that not the greatest joke ever told
And you want to miss it for a simple explosion? Come on the city explodes 3 times a week! 4 if Tony wants to make new suits instead of using his old ones.
