See, that's kind of the thing.Very surprising, since as far as I am aware Xianxia is a fun, unexplored and totally new genre. For us western audiences, that is. And while some things, usually based on simple poor writing, are cringe-invoking and/or not understandable due to cultural differences it is still an interesting phenomenon to watch and read.
A lot is lost in translations, usually, and the fact is that the finer cultural mores like the romance sections and all are lost without knowing them yourself.
Also, considering the huge emphasis forumites here tend to lay on worldbuilding, and that Xianxia doesn't necessarily have a very solid base there due to catering to and including all manners of Chinese mythological stuff, it gets a huge amount of maybe deserved ignore.
