"How... Do we know each other?" You ask.

The Lioness nods, "I see that what Wall said was correct. When players die, we lose our memories of our previous lives, and get the chance to try again as who we were, or start anew."

She picks up the witch with an easy one handed grip, and slings her over her shoulder. "We fought together in the East, where me, you, and Wall were given the Quest of slaying the Balorian, a dread Cyclops who has replaced his eye with that of a Medusa's. We killed the beast, but you got turned to stone in the process."

She looks at her captive. "I hope she doesn't try to escape again. I still have to bring her to the next city to complete my quest."

The woman in her arms looks at you pitifully, and whispers, "Help... Me..."

Well?

Hmm... if we Assist the Lioness, we could travel with her and have opportunity to question the woman, possibly squirreling off with her in the night or something. But that's risky.

I don't know if we'd be able to take the Lioness in a fight, though we know so little about ourselves, that maybe we can.

Not sure about questioning.

[X] Initiate Hostilities

You send a brief smile towards the Lioness, and look around.

And then, you move.

You shoulder check the Lioness, sending her into the alley wall, as her captive falls to the ground.

The Lioness blurs out of sight, and you dodge back, as she crashes down where you were standing, her spear imbedding in the ground.

She pulls it out easily, and darts towards you, her spear striking forward.

You swat it aside, your other arm moving forward as you- Argh!

The spear crackles with lighting as you strike it, and you abandon your second strike to retreat.

Descending Golden Lioness looks at you, and smiles. "Contrary quest to mine? I understand. Such is our lives. Let's make this a good fight then, Lion against Dragon."

She raises an arm, and a bolt of lightning materializes, which she throws at you. You dodge to the side, and charge forward with a straight punch. She backsteps your attack, and you follow up with a spinning roundhouse which strikes her in the head. You hook your leg, and slam her face into the ground.

You back up, as her whole form crackles with electricity, and she rises to her feet. She's smiling, and you are struck by the fact that despite the trail of blood going down her face, she still looks incredibly beautiful.

"It seems like even with you back at level one, I have trouble fighting you. Well, I've grown since I last met you Fist, so let me show you."

Her everything crackles, and her eyes glow. She darts forward, and sends a flurry of strikes at you. You start to backstep, avoiding touching the lightning spear with ducks and dodges.

You notice the cracks on the ground behind her, and the large rocks dislodged by your fight.

You jump over the Lioness, and on landing, hook one of the rocks with your feet, and send it flying at the back of her skull.

It shatters, but she slumps, and falls to the ground.

Victory Achieved

Rewards: 200 exp.

You check the Lioness's body, and find that she is very much alive, just unconscious. You try to pry the spear from her hands only for a notice to come up.

This weapon is an Artifact Trait, and is bound to this player until their death.

Kill her?

You turn to the other occupant of the alley. She has pressed her back to the wall, brought her knees to her chest, and has her eyes closed and her hands to her ears. She opens her eyes, and looks around.

"Is it over?"

Why not loot?

Unless we kill her, she still has the quest to bring in the woman, which means she'll pursue us.
If we kill her, she no longer has the quest or remembers us.
Plus, shiny.
