Initial Vote Choices; Housekeeping
Alright, so I was looking at the vote tally and I thought something was funny, because the vote tally was less than what I got when I did a manual count. Like 25 to 13 in favour for prince or something. Then I checked and realised the problem is that some people voted once for gender, and then they voted again for their choice for empire and the autotally overrode the earlier votes so the latest vote tally is inaccurate. I'll do a manual tally to double check, but I would appreciate it if you could edit your posts or repost with both vote choices included. Sorry for the mess, this is all because I altered the vote options halfway through things.

I'll officially close the voting tomorrow 20 October at 1000 GMT+0 (so about a full day two full days from now). Both votes will remain open until then. If you made two separate vote posts or didn't vote in both votes please use the time to fix that.

For convenience I'll repost all the vote choices here again:

Vote 1: Gender (Note: I did include a bunch of descriptions and all hinting at mechanics effects but since it was kind of vague I'll spell it out explicitly here.)

[ ] The Crown Prince (Mechanical Effects: Longer Regency, Higher Initial Legitimacy/Starting Opinion)

[ ] The Crown Princess (Mechanical Effects: Shorter Regency, Lower Initial Legitimacy/Starting Opinion)

Vote 2: Empire

[ ] The Ilsyevene Empire

The greatest realm of the elves. The elven mastery of magic has allowed them to establish an extensive empire populated by a diverse mix of subject races, all ruled from the imperial capital at Arduinna. The empire's borders have remained stable for a century, but in recent times, cracks are beginning to show, as ancient feuds threaten to divide the nobles amongst old lines and the quiet resentment amongst subject peoples threatens to erupt into open revolt.

[ ] The Myresean Empire

The Myresean Empire was born of the legacy of Alkibiades, the great warrior king whose undefeated armies conquered an enormous territory stretching from east to west. Its soldiers are inheritors of a proud military tradition, and the empire sits on the great east-west trade routes. However, troubles have begun to ail the empire in recent times, and the recent loss of the northern provinces has been a stinging blow to the empire's prestige.

[ ] The Yun Empire

The Yun Emperor rules over the mightiest kingdom of the east; a populous, prosperous realm, administered by the imperial bureaucracy and defended by the imperial army. However, a recent series of weak rulers has resulted in internal turmoil and the loss of the southern territories to separatists, while the unusual stirrings of activity amongst the steppe tribes to the north may be a prelude to something greater...

Elves instead of boring Rome or China.

[X] The Myresean Empire

Meh, I just prefer princesses. Boys are expected to be badasses and fathers to their land. In most fantasy settings, women just get married...

Byzantine and Roman are not the same, foul pretender.

[X] The Myresean Empire
The Principate never bothered with regencies. The closest I can think of is Hadrian making Antoninus Pius Emperor with instructions that his heir would be Marcus Aurelius.

As for the Dominate, it was halfway to Byzantines anyway.

[x] the Yun Empire
[x] the Crown Prince

I'm willing to switch my vote to the Elves if that'll make a difference

And China had one empress regnant in four millennia. :V

I like history but I'm not going to be using it more than a reference. I don't have the necessary depth of knowledge anyway.
