The man stared at me his eyes emotional.
"You brought Summer home?"
"Summer?" I questioned. Wait, wasn't that Rubies Mom?
"My wife." He whispered his voice thick with joy and relief.
"Ah, The silver eyed warrior? So that's her name." I mused,
What are the odds that I'd run into Summer Rose so soon?
"Yes, I can't thank you enough for saving her."
I shook my head, "There are no thanks required, as a Samurai it was an honor to save her life. Life is precious and easily lost, so to keep the spark of life burning a little longer brings great joy."
"Still, if there is anything, anything at all I can do for you please let me know." He said placing a hand on my shoulder. This man had just nearly lost his wife. Denying even some repayment could imply that her life is worth very little, as such it would be quite rude of me to refuse his offer.
"Very well," I nodded, as he let out a sigh. Before turning to little ruby who was beside him clutching his legs like a lifeline.
"This is Ruby, she's still a little shy. Ruby say Hi."
"HI," she mumbled clutching her father's leg tighter.
"And this is Yang," He said gesturing to towards the little blond dragon.
"Hello. I'm Yang, Yang Xiao Long," she said giving a short wave smiling brightly happiness evident in her eyes.
Well she seems quite well mannered compared to her older self.
"Hello, Little Sun Dragon," I said with a little grin my eyes crinkling with a bit of mischief.
"Little Sun Dragon?" she asked confused as she tilted her head in question. Taiyang chuckled understanding the joke.
"Did you bring mommy back?" Little Ruby asked, her silver eyes shining with hope.
"I suppose, so." At this Yang seemed to be a little sad but happy at the same time and a little ball of red crashed into my legs, "Tan you! Tan you!" I heard her cry out in joy.
I ruffled little ruby's hair. "You are quite welcome little one." The moment I did that, however, she rushed back beside her father's leg, who pats her head and chuckled.
A smile formed in my face as I felt a warmth spread in my chest.
"Well, why don't we go and see mommy now, shall we?" the man said and the two kids nodded and he turned to me, "Would you like to come with us? I'm sure she would be quite happy to see you."
I shook my head.
"I see, Oh, sorry, my bad I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Taiyang Xiao Long, house husband extraordinaire! NIce to meet you. And you are?" he finished, grinning.
