The Nine Realms (Age of Sigmar/Dominions)

Breaking of the Old Ones it is so now just an harmless vote

[] Feathered Serpent
[] Obsidian Mirror
[] Obsidian Butterfly
[] South Hummingbird
[] Flayed Lord with Jade Bones
Hmm, no invisitext. Good. Now then, what could these be?

Feathered Serpent might be referring to Sotek. All the other ones I have no idea. Therefore
[X] Feathered Serpent

if that could be clearer or less clear. Let's do this in the original tongue

Quetzacoatl
Tezcapolica
Itzpapalotl
Huitzilopochtli
Xipe-Totec

Ok I'll clear this one.

It's the name of the god/ess to which the ruins you'll explore will be dedicated. They are all cribbed from Aztec mythology and could have a link with the Old One.

Quetzacoatl that is winning was basically the sun, the oppostion to blood sacrifice and a lawgiver (Meso-American mythology is a mess).
Tezcapolica is the trickster/sorcerer god who uses his mirror to predict disease and calamities
Itzapalotl is the goddess of the stars and mother of the gods
Huitzilopochtli is the war god, the proud warrior that was the main deity of the Aztecs,
Xipe-Totec is the god of agriculture (and by that perhaps of immortality), fun fact his priests wore the skinned flesh of sacrifices to bless crops

Does that change the votes?

In the versions I heard Quetzalcoatl was pretty big on blood. Apparently very destructive. Which of course means:

[X] Feathered Serpent

Which versions? Most of the myths emphasize he was the only god to refuse human sacrifice.

Lore: Initial state of the Atzlanti
Ok Feathered Serpent wins. So in waiting, have a Lore Post

The transition you've been subject when at the End-Times claimed Lustria and the Southlands had two effects.

One you're alive. I mean the Slann, even those who were dead or even killed by daemons are all alive and lead their own temples-city among the stars. That means your colleagues number one hundred and eight Slanns Priests In addition to being Kroak the most poweful of the mage-priests to have ever existed, you share the wisdom and power of all your brethren.

Two, everyone else is dead. The armies you command, the skinks that chatter along the streets of your starry cities? They are illusions of a sort, given life and form by your potent will. Even the officers and the priests, retaining all their martial and magical might, are but pale copies conjured by your vast minds. They have no real independance and live only as you pay attention to them.

You will have to work if you want to rule a real people again and not an army of mindless robots.

Well, we'll have to make fixing that a top priority. Mindless illusions are fine for some things, but a kingdom is so much more interesting when it's made up of things that can think, act, plot rebellion, swear undying loyalty, attempt to usurp you, kill the usurpers, spread malicious rumors, counter those rumors, and generally be messy and fun.

Lizardmen don't really do that...

Yes all of them.

More precision: Sorry to not have not told you before (I launched the quest with few if any ideas on factions benefits/flaws) but you are the MAGIC! faction. Problem you suck nearly everywhere else.

You had servant races for Stewardship, Piety (The Old Ones are not gods in the Warhammer sense), Martial and Intrigue. Now you have "only" the most powerful wizzards in the Nine Realms (There are more Lord of Change than Slanns but even a FIfth Spawning Slann is able to outmagic a Greater Daemon)

Taomachan
Taomanchan The City of Errant Stars
Azyr is perhaps the most beautiful of all the Realms. Nowhere else is the gorgeous grandeur of the universe so well represented from the glittering stars you observed to the lambent discs of foreign moon and the spiral of faraway galaxies. Even the palaces of animated lightning where Sigmar the Human reigns are wondrous and in his forges and altars you can feel the primal energies of the cosmos bound anew to a noble purpose. But is the starry expanse of the realm that keep your heart burning. The strange lights of many colors, some unseen by mortal eyes, the crushing distances between any elements granting you the safety your besieged cities lost in their youth, all these sights remind you of your long forgotten youths when you sailed the void in the Everships of the First Race.

Yet each place has its flaws and Azyr's is the same distance that protects your cities. Even for someone of your might travelling through the void to the one of the broken cities you spied is exhausting. Outsiders saw your coming as a great comet transporting your body to the ruins where you crashed into ruined stone without harm. All was well for the moment.

A simple gesture from your gracile hands and your palanquin is surrounded by the celestial forms of the lizzardmen that served you. No heart beat in these chest, no blood flows through these veins full of pure starlight. For some reason the hardened Sauruses come to you more easily than the agile skinks. Nevertheless you force some units of skirmishers to materialize before sending them explore.

The city was not built in Azyr and it shows. Blocks of splintered stone float and wander aimlessly while you can see drops of congealed blood shining like rubies in the void. The architecture is familiar with serpentine icons and stepped pyramids. You lead your escort towards the only building seemingly in good state. The same building at the center of the city you feel is surrounded by magical energy.

They wait for you in the first rooms of the pyramids. Humans or things near them, their skin is black as the night sky of your realm constelled by eerie lights remniscent of stars aligned in strange patterns on their flesh. They are clad in feathers and furs, some bear the eagles' feathers, others the jaguar skin. They bear weapon of obsidian and you sense power from their leaders, the hint of scales behind their human seeming and true faith and magic in their eyes.

What will you do?

[] Try to negociate here and now
[] "Take me to your leader. Now!"
[] You have an army, it can as well serve to something
[] Wrench their history from their minds, you sense a reason for their presence here.

Hmm. Considering we're basically the most powerful individual in the entire setting perhaps barring Sigmar in a direct fight, I don't see any problem with some mindrape.

[X] Wrench their history from their minds, you sense a reason for their presence here.

Are we? Becoming an Incarnate is a pretty big boost. Then again we are lord Kroak.
