The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies....
May 2nd, 1998
Hogwarts was burning.
Spellfire lit up the night sky as the defenders of Hogwarts pit themselves against the Death Eaters and Voldemort's alliance of dark creatures. In the beginning, the battle had been in the favor of Voldemort's forces. Dozens of dementors filled the skies as the walls of Hogwarts trembled under the might of the Giants stomping their way through the courtyard. The armored suits that filled the halls had marched to the defense of the school, but most lay shattered and crumpled amidst broken stone and still bodies.
The tide however was turning. With the centaurs and house elves joining the fray, the Death Eaters had begun to fold under the press of bodies. Giants were brought down by dozens of arrows, while the house elves stabbed and cleaved their way through, eyes alight with malice and hatred. Shield spells and curses flew, overwhelming failing defenses. In the midst of this conflict Harry Potter snuck through.
He made for the Great Hall, his Invisibility Cloak draped around his shoulders hiding him from sight. Silently as he made his way past the embroiled combatants, Harry rendered what aid he could. Tripping jinxes, shields charms, the occasional stunner and disarming hex, whatever came to mind he used. He refrained from lethal spells, saving his energy for the coming confrontation with Voldemort.
Passing through the shattered doors and into the Great Hall, he was forced to dodge nimbly out of the way of a meandering blasting curse that exploded behind him. Harry hid himself against the wall, as more and more of Hogwart's defenders began to fill the Hall.
Voldemort was in his absolute element, robes flowing around him like a creature of shadow as he rained hell on any and all challengers. Waves of flame swept forth from his wand, forcing wizards and witches to dodge out of the way while killing curses picked off anyone who was too slow to react. Three snakes that he must have transfigured lunged at the heels of any who came too close while blocking any serious curses from connecting with their master. Blindingly fast and unerringly lethal, anyone standing in the room could see how he earned his title as Dark Lord.
His Death Eaters however were not fairing anywhere near as well, half a dozen including Antonin Dolohov and August Rookwood having already been subdued. Bellatrix Lestrange in all her cackling glory however had managed to stay standing.
Despite simultaneously dueling Hermione, Ginny and Luna, the witch managed to maintain the upper hand as the inexperience of the girls held them back. Though they were quick to cover one another, none of them were able to put enough pressure on Bellatrix to distract her from employing her lethal repertoire. When Hermione is nearly eviscerated by a whip of black flame, Ginny rushed over to help her fallen friend, while Luna held the dark witch at bay. With two less duellists to trouble her, Bellatrix focused all her attention on taking down the thin blonde. A trio of severing charms followed by a blasting curse sends a plume of dust and rock into the air obscuring Luna's vision. Harry moved to intervene only to realize too late that it was just a distraction.
"Avada Kedavra," a jet of green light struck Ginny's back as she collapsed in a boneless heap, her eyes glassy and devoid of life. As her empty eyes bored into him, Harry knew her broken form would haunt him for the rest of his life. He forced himself to look away, to fight for the living rather than to dwell on the dead. Shedding the Invisibility Cloak, he rushed forward and deflected a blood boiling curse aimed at Hermione. He barely heard Molly Weasley's cry of rage and grief for her fallen daughter as she too joined the fray.
"Oh how delightful! I knew killing that useless bint would bring you forward Potter," she cackled her voice filled with glee. "She's only the first. I'll kill that little mudblood of yours next!"
Transfiguring a chunk of stone into a lion that lunged at Bellatrix, Harry began to send a flurry of spellwork in an attempt to kill the witch. Blasting curses were followed by severing charms interspersed with banishers and piercers. Molly threw her own magic into the mix, but he was too focused to truly pay attention to what she was using. He knew though they were not making any real progress. Bellatrix had more than enough breathing room to mock He would need to tap into something deeper, something greater.
The prophecy called it the power he knows not.
[ ] Dragonblood - How this awakened within Harry's blood is unknown but the ancestral heritage of a true dragon has surfaced within him. Given time he can discover their language and heritage, gaining the power to alter reality with the utterance of a word not to mention some of the physical properties of a true dragon.
[ ] Elementalism - As the magic of the world thinned over millennia, so too has the instinctual command of the elements that wizards once had. Harry however is an exception. With time, practice and learning the elements will be at his beck and call.
[ ] Artificer - What is more coveted than a powerful artifact? Objects of great power and ability have been desired by humankind for all of its history. Harry has inherited a deep talent for the creation of such items. If a spell doesn't exist to take care of a problem, he can make something that does.
[ ] Void Caller - A thousand worlds. A thousand galaxies. A thousand universes. A thousand dimensions. Harry has inherited a tenuous but growing connection to beings and powers that span the length and breadth of time and space. Drawing upon these sources of strength, he can learn to enact magics far beyond the scope of a normal wizard. Such powers however have their price.
[ ] Love - GM choice
[ ] Nothing - Harry is a vanilla wand wizard with all that it entails.
The goal of this quest is to explore the greater magical world. The novels and films are mostly focused on Hogwarts but in a world of magic there must be so much more out there. Please take into consideration what your future goals may be when you vote. It isn't ALL about fighting.
Your six attributes are: Body, Magic, Cognition, Will, Presence, Reflexes.
Body governs physical strength, speed, stamina, and vitality. A strong body will let Harry hit harder and take more hits in turn. This will be the primary stat to govern most of his physical reactions.
Magic governs Harry's magical power. When he cast spells this is the dice that gets rolled.
Cognition governs Harry's learning, problem solving ability, and awareness of both magical and mundane things. This dice will be rolled whenever Harry is trying to learn something new, deciphering puzzle, discovering hints, traps and hidden objects.
Will governs Harry's mental fortitude. How capable is he of resisting charm effects or throwing off the Imperius curse. This dice will also be rolled if Harry faces a major mental setback to see if he can push through.
Presence governs Harry's force of personality and his aura. He can use for a variety of tasks including intimidating criminals or would be enemies, negotiating contracts, convincing someone to help you and so on.
Reflexes governs Harry's ability to unconsciously and consciously react. When he is ambushed, when he steps on a trap, catching a snitch, dodging a spell, this dice will be rolled.
When an action is about to be taken, relevant stat will roll 1 exploding d10 for every point in a given stat. 10 is the normal stat cap and represents absolute pinnacle magical human potential. To go above this cap requires some serious work. Dark rituals with deep sacrifices, contracts with a powerful magical creatures like a phoenix, the acquisition of legendary artifacts such as the Deathly Hallows are the type of things you would need to do or acquire in order to surpass this limit.
You can consider each point in a given stat to represent a significant increase in strength. If you take magic for instance, an average wizard or witch might be a three or four. A well trained Auror a six. Strong duelists like Moody and Dolohov would be an eight while legendary existences like Albus Dumbeldore and Voldemort would be a ten.
Up to stat 8 you can pay xp to purchase additional stat points. The cost will be 100 xp from 1 to 2, 200 xp from 2 to 3, 400 xp from 3 to 4, 600 xp from 4 to 5, 800 xp from 5 to 6. 1400 xp from 6 to 7 and 2000 xp from 7 to 8.
Skills determine the number of dice you can keep AND contributes an additional modifier.

The last system we have in place is the Origin Point system. This is functionally akin to the acquisition of achievement points and destiny points in other quests. This will allow you to buy stats 9 and 10 to bring Harry to absolute peak human levels, increase ranks in your power he knows not and perhaps further develop traits.
I will provide XP point bonuses for omakes, fanart, participation in terms of analysis and well thought out votes and so on.

Traits
Indomitable - If Harry Potter could be defined by a single trait, it would be his strength of will. To marshal on despite adversity and loss while risking life and limb, he has fought on to vanquish his fated foe. Harry can shrug off most mental compulsions and manipulations with a much lower will roll. This includes Veela allure, possession and Imperius curses. Gains a +10 on will checks of all sorts. Mental effects have their difficulty threshold lowered by 20 points.
Loyal - Harry does not consider himself to be the type to have many friends, but those he does he cares for deeply and will go to great lengths to help. Paying a price in blood or gold is irrelevant. Requires super majority for votes to betray, abandon, or refuse to aid a friend.
Courageous - Harry's bravery borders on the reckless. Where others might balk at perceived risk, Harry will go all in. Grants + 5 to will rolls in highly dangerous situations.
Born Leader - No one would quite call it Charisma, but Harry certainly has the type of presence that draws people to his banner. Though he does not like to think of it, many people have fought by his side and at his behest risking and sometimes losing their lives in the process. He naturally brings them together and typically they obey with little issues. +10 to cognition and presence rolls when commanding people, easier to build organizations
Short-tempered - Harry quickness to anger is legendary and it has gotten him into some truly terrible situations. He has tried to temper it but if someone pushes the right buttons he can go berserker. Difficulty check on cognition rolls when faced with caustic people increased by 10. Can lock options out or starts event on the wrong foot. His rage however if appropriately channeled can also increase the power of his magic.
Tactless - Nobody would ever say Harry is the sensitive type. He is liable to say the wrong thing at the wrong time and hurt someone. Effects options. Can have negative consequences though most of his friends know what he is like.
Harry Hunting Champion - Throughout his childhood, Harry was stuck dealing with a delinquent cousin with a circle of friends that egged him on. He had to get very good at running away and dodging. +5 to body rolls involving running, +10 to reflex rolls
Instinct - Harry's danger detection abilities border on the preternatural. Some part of him just knows when things are about to go down. +15 to reflex rolls in ambushes.
Arrogant - Harry has an unfortunate habit of believing himself to be the center of everything and this arrogance has cost him dearly in the past. Effects options and can increase presence difficulty checks by up to 15 depending on who he is facing.

Spellbook
Possessions
Ouroboros Ring - forged in Harry and Fawkes' grief and anger at the death of their mentor and partner respectively, this ring is a powerful artifact imbued by Harry's soul with great meaning. A symbol of the infinite cycle of life and death, its materials reflect this dichotomy. Basilisk fang was melted and wrought into the band in a fire lit with the sacrifice of the feather of a phoenix. Quenched in basilisk venom it was then coated in Fawkes' tears. The black bonelike ring sits on Harry's left hand though it feels oddly incomplete to him.
Powers:
A black caustic flame that emphasizes all the traits of death and destruction inherent in basilisk venom and fire. Harry theorizes it would be sufficient to destroy a horcrux.
Additional powers to be unlocked.
Umbral Shade Amulet - A black crystal suspended amidst rotating rings, it is capable of shrouding Harry in a shadowy illusion that makes his form hazy and difficult to target. The amulet is powered poorly and only lasts for a few minutes at a time before needing to recharge. -5 penalty to enemies fighting Harry when this is active.
The Cloak of Invisibility - One of the legendary Deathly Hallows, it is supposedly a piece of Death's own cloak and was gifted to Ignotus Peverell. The only Cloak in the world capable of resisting the ravages of time, it never fades, cannot be summoned, and is immune to jinxes, hexes and other spells that would otherwise damage it or render it ineffective. It does not however shield its wearer from damage and can be seen through by certain magical means. It may however be possible that the cloak has abilities that have yet to be unlocked.
Powers:
Invisibility
Indestructible
Immune to spellwork targeting it
???
The Elder Wand - One of the legendary Deathly Hallows, it was supposedly bestowed upon Antioch Peverell as the most powerful wand in the history of wizards. Made from Elder Wood and containing the tail hair of a Thestral, it is capable of feats far beyond that of normal wands. Harry has currently hidden the wand away and has told no one that he stills possess it including Ron and Hermione. If the Elder Wand is discovered, Harry can expect untold bloodshed to follow him.
Powers:
Most powerful wand in the world, certain feats that would otherwise be impossible are doable with it in hand.
If using the wand, provides +2 to Magic and +2 keep when using any direct magic skill (Transfiguration, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Dark Arts, Healing).
The Resurrection Stone - One of the legendary Deathly Hallows, it was bestowed upon Cadmus Peverell when he requested something to recall loved ones from Death's side. Capable of bringing back a shade of the holder's dead loved ones. More substantive than a ghost but less than flesh and blood, Harry acknowledges that it is likely a facsimile of those brought forth, but one so convincing one can easily get lost in it. He has hidden the Resurrection Stone fearing the temptation it presents to him.
Powers:
Calls forth a shade of the dead that can be interacted with
Marauder's Map - Made by the Marauder's in their years at Hogwarts, it was given to him by Fred and George Weasley. It tracks every classroom, every hallway, every corner and passageway including the secret ones and identifies all people within the grounds through any and all disguises. The one exception is if the location is unplottable such as the Room of Requirement and the Chamber of Secrets.
Mokeskin Pouch - Gifted to Harry by Hagrid, the small pouch is bigger on the inside allowing quite a few things to be stored inside. It also is almost impossible for anyone other than the owner to retrieve any objects inside.
Small Rune Carved Ivory Box - Currently with Daphne Greengrass as she attempts to unravel the runic script and open the box.
Death Eater Mask - Acquired from one of the men that tried to kill Harry in Australia, he is unsure if it is a real mask or not. Empyrean Diamond - A naturally forming rainbow colored diamond, these occur only in areas where elemental energy is perfectly in balance. Rare beyond belief, it would function well in the origin artifact Harry is trying to build. An upgrade from blood rubies. Blood Essence of a Kun Peng - A beast that can swap between forms as a fish and as a bird. It can reach a monolithic size and is capable of incredible speed both in the air and in the water. The Empress is no longer sure if any still exist. If they do they are hidden deep in the depths of the ocean. A more powerful replacement for the occamy blood Harry would have used in his origin artifact is unlikely to be found.
Origin Skill
Artificer - What is more coveted than a powerful artifact? Objects of great power and ability have been desired by humankind for all of its history. Harry has inherited a deep talent for the creation of such items. If a spell doesn't exist to take care of a problem, he can make something that does.
Artificer Rank 3 - Provides 2 dice and 2 keep for artificing
Heart of Creation (Rank 3) - As a true artificer, Harry carries a forge within his very soul. Supported by his inherent power, he can manifest a mana forge within which to create items of power. It is draining upon him so a true forging is best done in places of power where strength can be drawn from elsewhere. Nonetheless it is a useful thing to have, especially in a pinch. Without being in a place of power artificing is capped at rank 5 when attempting to make an item and will quickly exhaust him. He is able to use his mana forge to craft up to Rare artifacts.
Synthesis (Rank 1) - An ability of the Heart of Creation to combine things together to create more powerful materials. Harry can combine the same material together to create a more potent version
Mind's Eye of Discernment (Rank 2) - Allows Harry to better understand things that he looks at and provides a sixth sense to discover rare and hidden things. Provides + 10 point bonus to discovering things.
Prior ranks of all origin skills must be purchased before getting the next rank. All point costs are per rank basis and not cumulative costs.
Artificer Ranks - Cost Rank Level x 10 Origin Points
Each rank of artificer gets an equal number of dice rolls and dice keeps and +5 multiplied by the rank.
Heart of Creation - As a true artificer, Harry carries a forge within his very soul.
Rank 1 is automatic and grants a basic mana forge
Rank 2 costs 10 Origin Points and allows for the creation of Uncommon artifacts
Rank 3 costs 30 Origin Points and allows for the creation of Rare artifacts
Rank 4 Costs 50 Origin points and allows for the creation of Epic artifacts
Rank 5 Costs 80 Origin points and allows for the creation of Legendary artifacts.
Synthesis - An ability of the Heart of Creation to combine things together to create more powerful materials/objects.
Rank 1 costs 20 Origin Points, combine the same materials together for a more potent version.
Rank 2 costs 40 Origin Points, can attempt to combine different materials together for enhanced properties and new effects.
Rank 3 costs 80 Origin Points can attempt to combine items together.
Ley Line Attunement - Harry has become more in tune to the flow of energy within the world and is able to draw upon the power of the earth and sky to fuel his forging. Costs 50 Origin points and allows for up to rank 8 artificing without being in a place of power.
Soul Forging - A unique forging method, it allows for the passive creation of artifacts. Harry needs only to place materials in his mana forge then close it back up again. His soul will do the rest and steadily create an artifact. The output artifact will be every bit worthy of Harry's skill in artifice though far slower and with more randomness. Additionally any artifacts produced are tied directly to Harry's soul and will not accept another owner. Cost 100 Origin Points.
Mind's Eye of Discernment - This ability allows for Harry to better understand things that he looks at and provides a sort of sixth sense around rare things.
Rank 1 Cost 10 Origin Points accurately identify regular and uncommon materials and objects
Rank 2 Cost 30 Origin Points accurately identify rare and epic materials and objects. Sixth sense is stronger, more likely to discover things
Main Character
Harry Potter - Our protagonist. A powerful wizard with a talent for artificing not seen in centuries. After slaying Voldemort he started his own wizard for hire service and gained the patronage of the Immortal Empress, the ruler of the Scarlet Jade Empire, shortly after. Still grieving for Ginny though he tries his best to marshal on.
Harry's Allies and Friends
Hermione Granger - Harry's best friend. A bright and capable witch, her loyalty to Harry is extremely high as they have gone through thick and thin together. Recently they went to Australia to restore her parents memory and bring them back to the UK. Though it turned out to be extremely dangerous and Harry wracked up a considerable body count, the Grangers all returned alive. She is currently reconciling with her parents and will be returning to Hogwarts to finish her seventh year. Unfortunately she had a major falling out with Ron Weasley. Harry trusts her implicitly.
Daphne Greengrass - When Harry started his wizard for hire service, Daphne was one of the first to approach him. Despite being raised under blood purist ideology, Daphne is trying to break out and become her own woman. Harry does not pay her as she does not need the money, but in exchange he is helping her find a cure for the blood malediction that afflicts her family line in the hopes of saving her sister Astoria's life. He recently awarded her family a monopoly on trade between the Scarlet Jade Empire and North America. She is tentatively trusted.
Neville Longbottom - Harry's close friend, classmate and follower; he has proven to be a loyal and capable leader when he took over Dumbledore's Army during the Horcrux hunt. Bellatrix's escape from the Battle of Hogwarts weighs on him however and he is obsessed with tracking her down. Harry has tried to channel this in a more productive direction by pushing Neville towards the Auror Corps.
Luna Lovegood - One of Harry's close friends. Luna has been with him through some very tumultuous times including the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and the Battle of Hogwarts. A quirky girl with a vivid imagination, she is an aspiring magizoologist who is presently in the Kalmar Union of Magic studying trolls in the hopes of preventing the outbreak of another war. She feels responsible for the death of Ginny.
Ernie Macmillan - A member of the DA and one of Harry's friends, he is also Harry's primary solicitor. His family founded the famous Macmillan & Macmillan and he now practices law along with Justin Finch-Fletchley his best friend. Tries his best to help Harry stay out of trouble and gain access to the Black Estate.
Teddy Lupin - The son of Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks. He was orphaned when his parents were slain during the Battle of Hogwarts. Harry is his godfather.
Andromeda Black nee Tonks - Sirius Black's cousin and the grandmother of Teddy Lupin. She was widowed when her husband Ted Tonks was murdered by Snatchers. She lost her daughter in the Battle of Hogwarts. Currently lives with Harry and takes care of Teddy and is training to become a nurse.
Horace Slughorn - Harry's infamous potion professor. He is the Head of Slytherine. Notable for his Slug Club which seeks to pool together those of great talent, fame or money. Helped Harry out in devising a cure of Hermione's parents memory loss.
Kingsley Shacklebolt - The Minister of Magic. He is a former Auror and a powerful wizard. Harry likes his calm demeanor and appreciates that he is a capable and intelligent leader. He wouldn't quite call them friends, but the Minister certainly supports him as much as he is able and Harry returns the favor. All for a better future.
Percy Weasley - Harry and Percy were never particularly close during their Hogwarts years, as he found Percy to be a rather pretentious prat. He has since mellowed out and proven his loyalty. He now works for the Department of International Magical Cooperation.
Cho Chang - Harry's former flame, they dated briefly in his fifth year but everything fell apart towards the end. She reached out to him on behalf of her family in order to get his aid in approaching the Immortal Empress, the ruler of the Scarlet Jade Empire. She has indicated she still has some interest in him though rather subtlety. Harry might be reading that wrong though.
The Immortal Empress - Her true name is unknown to Harry. She is known world wide by her title alone. A powerful sorceress who has lived for thousands of years, she controls one of the strongest magical nations in the world. There are few who would dare to contend with her. Harry created a very special artifact for her and in light of his talent and skill she has become his patron and bestowed upon him great boons. She granted a trade charter that gave a full monopoly on all trade between North America, South America, and Europe with the Scarlet Jade Empire.
Xue - Harry doesn't know her full name either, but she is one of the Empress' body guards. Among the youngest of her retinue, Xue is assigned to protect Harry's life. The full extent of her capabilities is not known, but is it likely she is very dangerous.
Misc Characters
Svetlana Naryshkina - One of the proprietors of The Skylark one of Wizarding Britain's finest restaurants.
Madame Rosmerta - The proprietress of the Three Broomsticks.
Mr. and Mrs Granger - Hermione's parents. Their memories were restored and they were rescued from Australia though not before getting caught in the crossfire between Harry and people hunting him. Currently reconciling with Hermione.

Jiang Zhe - One of the ministers in the Scarlet Jade Empire's Ministry of Commerce and Trade.
Sebastian Greengrass - Daphne's father
Astoria Greengrass - Daphne's sister. Suffers from a blood malediction placed upon the Greengrass family line many centuries ago by Heinrich von Hohenlohe.

We could effectually be all of the above using this option.
I finally managed to cobble together a table! Yay! It's ugly but it will do the trick. Please let me know if any of the mechanics doesn't make sense, it takes some of the concepts from l5r but gives a big emphasis on your skills.
Origin Points are your special stuff. You'll use this to upgrade your power he knows not and to get stat 9 and stat 10s along with some other knick knacks. This pool is going to be fairly rare.
XP on the other hand you'll get from player participation in its myriad forms as well as whatever it is that you do.
My primary goal here is to explore more than just Hogwarts. Partially inspired by the Fantastic Beasts film, I wanted to look at what else might be out there. There's plenty of other wizarding schools and countries not to mention more beasts and magic that you can shake a stick at.
[X] Artificer - What is more coveted than a powerful artifact? Objects of great power and ability have been desired by humankind for all of its history. Harry has inherited a deep talent for the creation of such items. If a spell doesn't exist to take care of a problem, he can make something that does.
[X] Plan it's magic i ain't gotta explain shit
... because no Quiditch until we build our own proxy player~
I am interest in many world walking power,it's easier to add element of other setting but probably has disadvantage of quest bloat thought.
[X] Plan it's magic i ain't gotta explain shit
Elsewhere, not dead yet. I'm not entirely sure where everyone is going to go with punch wizard especially with low reflexes. A high body stat means you have great physical prowess and can take a hit but it doesn't given you spell immunity. How are you getting to your opponent? What about dark creatures? What would you pursue?
[X] Void Caller - A thousand worlds.
