[X] Ardan noticed something gleaming underneath the stacks of scrolls. (Hunter Of Secrets)
-[X] Search The Room afterwards
The character sheet tells me we are an individuel who collects as much information as possible...and as much as loot as possible.
We are very VERY tough so we can affored to search for a longer time. We only have to be afraid if a large group of wizards catch us of guard.
Also my 40k knowledge is limited so what does the machine spirit mood entail? It is moody because it is damaged and I find this cute.
We have to repair armour-chan.
[x]Ardan noticed something gleaming underneath the stacks of scrolls. (Hunter Of Secrets)
-[X] Search The Room afterwards
Ardan's superhuman senses and own instincts as a Blood Raven quickly homed in on the brief flash that had occurred in the torchlight, fishing it out to study in the flickering torchlight.
Attached to what looked like a set of black leather straps was a silver medallion marked with an image of an aquila surrounded by two rings of gold, no makers mark or any identifying symbols inscribed on the rear face of the medallion, but in the torchlight Ardan sensed that there was a holy power within the medallion, a possible sign from the Emperor showing that he was not forgotten and had his protection perhaps.
But even so, the holy power was shrouded, a palpable veil that told Ardan that some foul magic had been laid over this blessed icon. A brief rummage through the scrolls revealed a satchel which Ardan immediately took for his own usage, placing the medallion inside it for safekeeping until he could find someone who could purge this shroud.
[New Item Acquired: Unidentified Aquila Medallion.]
[Acquired Satchel! Ardan can now actually carry inventory items! 20 Item Max Capacity.]
With the satchel strapped to his waist, Ardan quickly began searching through the stacks of scrolls
Much of the scrolls were miscellaneous reports concerning everything from farm production to equipment for the heretic king's army, which was at least informative in telling Ardan that he had been taken to some Feudal World, although with the vagaries of the warp and sorcery that meant nothing to him in terms of what year it was in Imperial notation, and the scrolls were all dated with a native notation of 'Season Of Fire, Common Era 115' or some such nonsense.
If it was one thing the Administratum got right, it was ensuring a universal method of time-keeping across the Imperium with the Terran Standard Day, Week, Month and Year, regardless of whatever system was in place before. Ardan took what looked to be most valuable in terms of military information, and continued rummaging through the scrolls.
[Acquired: Strategic Intelligence]
Unfortunately, the only thing that he could find after additional searching was a stiff leather tube filled with rolled-up maps marking what seemed to be this kingdom along with much of the surrounding lands. Nodding at the utility of his find, Ardan stuffed the tube into the satchel and after considering the room again, picked up a torch and flung it onto the largest pile of scrolls, quickly setting the pile aflame.
"This should distract the heretics." Ardan growled before he looked around, helmet sensors detecting and showing a very faint breeze running through the halls that he immediately began following to see if it led to a way out of these dungeons and basement chambers, ignoring the sounds of shouts and running feet save to draw his knife again in case he encountered soldiers intending to block his passage through the corridors.
"There! The Giant has escaped! Bring the mages!" Mages, the pet witches that incapacitated him before, Ardan felt his blood boil as he spotted the mob of armored men and then saw a robed figure preparing some witchcraft, lightning crackling between her hands as Ardan charged forwards, power armor servos growling as the Machine Spirit spotted one of the beings responsible for it's weakening.
"He's charging!"
"Hold fast! We'll hold him in place so-"
A wall of spears met eight feet of charging Ceramite, Plasteel and Adamantium, shattering like twigs before that same mass of charging Astartes met the armored bodies of the guards as Brother-Sergeant Dale stabbed forwards with his knife just as the witch unleashed a crackling bolt of lightning at his face.
[13 Damage! Armor Bypassed!]
Ardan snarled, the sound echoing in the corridor before he turned his attention the rest of the guards. The knife flashed in the dim hallways, men screaming as they tried to block with swords of their own daggers, only for Ardan's blade to cut through their steel with barely a thought of effort, flesh parting easily with each strike until the hallway was silent as Ardan's suit auspex displayed a map of where he had been so far.
According to the auto-senses, there would be an origin point for the faint breeze he was following up the stairs he had combated the guards and heretic witch in front of. Therefore, there would be a doorway or window that would lead to freedom.
Ardan quickly strode up the stairs as the sounds of violence and running feet started to become louder and louder, shouts and yells punctuated with war cries and screams filling the air as behind the Astartes, the rioting prisoners continued to free their comrades-in-chains, overpowering and killing guards as the leader of the breakout called out to the liberated prisoners, "This way! We can reach the surface using the stairs around this corner!"
As the mob turned the corner, the leader saw the pile of bloody meat that used to be another group of guards and a mage, "The giant went this way! Keep going, he is clearing the way to freedom!" A ragged but loud cheer went up at the news; surely with the Giant leading the way even unwittingly, they could escape this castle and these lands.
Above the mob, Ardan shoved open the massive, bolted double doors, striding into the sunshine as he studied his surroundings.
The door and staircase behind him had opened into a large square, surrounded on all sides by high walls that were clearly part of a large garrison complex as Ardan's auto-senses mapped out locations of murderholes for snipers and other ranged opposition, "Clever heretics, they at least know how to design a prison against escape."
"And it has stopped many Giant!" Ardan's head turned towards a company of heavily-armored soldiers approaching him, bearing large swords and axes, the auto-senses detecting unknown and likely heretical energies emanating from the weapons, though thankfully their armor appeared to be merely thicker, heavier and more ornately-decorated steel than any witch-steel plating.
At the head of the group, a head shorter than them, a young man dressed in similar armor scowls at you, clutching a sword that like the weapons used by the armored soldiers, glows with likely-heretical magics.
Narrowing his eyes behind his helmet, Ardan readies his knife, "Heretics! Know that as a servant of the God-Emperor, I shall only offer my mercy to you this once so that your kind shall be cleansed at a later date for your tainted witchcraft and the gall to try and enslave an Astartes! Stand down and make way, or else die as the rest of your misbegotten kind have down in that pit."
The young man's eyes widen at your words, before he clenches his hands around the grip of his blade, "Never! You have slain a kind and honorable king! You have killed people who's only crime was to do their duty! You will die here Giant! Damn the mages and their wish to interrogate you, justice will be served instead!"
"Feh, honorable words. It is a pity they are wasted on your kind." Ardan prepared himself to fight.
"Hold up Chief!" Ardan turned his head slightly. In truth, the auspex systems had already detected their approach but he had always ignored the rising prison riot that had been playing out behind him but now he had to regard the motley array of criminals that was gathered around him, auto-senses counting several hundred individuals as a strange, Eldar-appearing individual approached him, "Let us fight with you! These guys are knights of the First Legion ya know? Those Mage-Blades of theirs are no joke, you'll need all the help you can get. Whaddya say?"
[]Let them fight with you, they will serve as distractions.
[]Refuse, this is your fight.

More descriptive means bonuses, like hitting another target for free. Just don't give me eight pages for one attack.
100 heretic knights wielding mags blades, also known as Heresy blades. We could probably beat them without help but we would suffer unnecessary damage but would probably gain a reputation for being a badass murder giant.
I am also wondering if we should insta kill their leader. On the one hand, he is in the front and killing him stops him from calling in the murder wizards/archers. On the other, if we is alive we can interrogate him about our bolter. Eh, he is probably to prideful to tell us.
[X] Let the prisoners do as they wish.
-[X] "I do not care what do you mortals do, just don't get in my way."
[X] Charge at the head heretic and end him.
-[X] Use kicks and grabs so that each swing of your blade ends multiple heretics
-[X] If you sense fire from the murder holes, use a heretic as meat shield.
That isn't the question I asked. But it does pose a new one. Will an armoured knight provide significantly better stats as a weapon?
We can upgrade once our first one breaks.

1: Why would the prisoners let you use one of them as flail?
2: No, it's a guy in metal armour, a Space Marine knife is a finely-made plasteel and ceramite killing device. You'd probably get better stats if you took the Mage-Blade but why would you as an Astartes wield a heretic weapon?
