The Iron Oath (An Oath/Contract Based Cultivation Quest).

Voting is open
6. Weekend one: lazing about.
AN: I don't like this update too much; I feel as if it can be a lot better but it's already been a few months and quite a few revisions. The vote won't be long and hopefully turn 2 would be out by this time next week.

At long last the weekend has arrived.

A time of relaxation and leisure.

A time where Aurora could spend doing nothing and not get reprimanded by her father or mother.

A time where she could sleep till the sun goes down again, with no busybodies interrupting her sleep.

Less than a week has passed since she entered the school and Aurora is already wishing to sleep the next day away in its entirety.

Yet deep down, she feels the gentle pulse of her oath like a chain around her neck.

There will be no going back to the better days of the past.

Which is why she must ensure to milk her precious free time for all its worth.

And that is how Aurora ended up awake at around six in the morning, waiting for her despicable retainer.

And she didn't have to wait long as she spotted Gallus going down the stairs.

And as she suspected he was dressed in his exercise gear -a brown worn old shirt and scratched green pants- he was obviously going out to train.

Despite the fact she clearly stated that this day was a rest day.

And she couldn't have that.

Aurora could see the precise moment that Gallus spotted her, as his face contracted to resembled the one, he had when her uncle (and his father) caught him trying to sneak a book out of the library.

She could only smirk when she saw that look.

Aurora didn't even need to speak as she turn on her heel and entered one of the side rooms.

Octavia was already sitting on one of the sofas Aurora personally ensured the school provided.

Just after Gallus entered the room himself, Aurora locked the door -there would be no runaways for relaxation- she then fell on the comfiest sofa in the room and swiftly fallen asleep.

She still had a few hours of beauty sleep to catch up on after all.

When Aurora finally awoke, the sun was already high in the sky.

At her side she could hear Gallus and Octavia engaging in conversation she yawned exaggeratedly and her retainers quieted "good morning" Aurora began "I hope you've rested because we have much to do".

"We would have been done a lot sooner if you didn't insist on sleeping in" Gallus said. fond exasperation in his voice.

"But then I wouldn't get enough rest!" Aurora cry's "you don't want my skin to wrinkle do you? you aren't so cruel" she says teasing.

"We both know that you have enough powders and potions you'll stay as young as you want to" he replies.

"Gallus" Octavia interjects "this is no way to talk to a lady".

"Right" Aurora swiftly agrees "what would your father say?"

Gallus looks at the alliance formed to slay him and wisely gives up "fine, fine what are we doing today".

"Well," Aurora starts "I was hoping to start recruiting, get ahead of the competition"

"Did you have anyone specific in mind?" Octavia asked.

"Yes, Ermis and Livia".

"A bruiser and an alchemist" Gallus notes "a good start".

"You know me, always the best" Aurora says "but before we set out, tell me about your week how are you settling in?"

"It's not that different from home so I'm fine" Gallus begins "and the library is even more extensive than the one at the clan compound and I'm looking forward to scouring it clean".

Of course, Gallus first thought would go to his books and not to the fact he became an oath barer or left home, the nerd.

With Gallus peace said Aurora turns towards Octavia expectingly, the peasant girl shrinking under her gaze "I-I like it here, it's less gaudy your home" she says before continuing "no offense my lady"

"None taken" Aurora beamed at the taller girl "it is quite a change from what you're accustomed to.".

"What about you, my lady?" Gallus asked "how are you finding your time at the sect"

"well ---"

[] how is Aurora finding her time at the sect so far?

After a few hours of relaxing with Gallus and Octavia it was time to go introduce yourself and let others enjoy your presence.

It wasn't work if you enjoyed it and you'll stick to that fact.

The first on the agenda was Livia Cicero.

As a pill brewer the faster Aurora got to her, the better.

Least some of her rivals try and poach her.

It didn't take long to find where Livia spent her time, a few questions for some random disciples and Octavia eyes were more than enough.

Apparently, a small section of the compound they lived in was dedicated for production facilities.

And that's where Livia was spending her time.

The workshop she claimed was a small one, but it was bursting with various caldrons with bubbling concoctions and had a large sign with products offered and prices at the front.

Aurora scrunched her nose at the heavy scent for only a moment before letting her mask return and approached the petite girl with Octavia at her back.

The girl was busy stirring and overlooking the dozen or so of different cauldrons she had so she hadn't noticed Aurora approach until she was already next to her.

"Ah" Livia jumped in surprise, the movement almost causing the caldron she was stirring to spill over but swift action by Livia averted this fate, before turning to Aurora with a smile on her face "hello! Welcome to the Cicero shop what can I do for you?"

"Well, I was around and wanted to talk" Aurora replied.

"What about?"

"I was wondering if you'll be interested in some kind of collaboration? The Cicero family is well known for their quality crafts and I'm willing to pay good silver for such goods"

Fellowship challenge (very hard).

Aurora: 16 dice S>6 R4.

[10!, 1, 4, 3, 9, 5, 10!, 1, 7, 6, 4, 9, 6, 9, 1, 6, 10!, 1, 9]= 8s + [10!, 8, 6, 1, 5]= 10s.

"Oh, I'm sorry" Livia starts "you seem nice and I wouldn't mind collaborating but…" she falls silent as if not sure she should really be discussing this.

"But?" Aurora gives her a slight push.

"But my family forbade me form contracting exclusivity for the first month after entering the sect" Livia said sounding dejected "they said it would hurt my future prospects".

A slight nod from Octavia conformed that Livia said the truth "We'll that's too bad, I hope we can still be friends though?" Aurora said changing strategies now that early requirement was off the table.

"I would love to" Livia said.

The conversation continued from there, mostly small talk with nothing truly important being discussed.

Formed a good relationship With Livia Cicero, unlocked her shop. Found out she won't be recruitable until turn 5. The Cicero shop is more expansive but every silver spent here would go toward giving you a bonus toward requiting Livia. (note you have 500 silver avaliable to you).

Strengthened meridians pill (2X success for a single Horkos cultivation roll) - 50 silver until Horkos 10, 100 silver until Horkos 20, 200 silver until Horkos 30, etcetera.

Body reforging pill- 1xp to the body attribute per 2 silver (overuse may result in increased levels of impurities when tiering up) multiply the cost by 5 for every tier above the first.

Meridian expansion pill- 500 silver, (+0.1 permanent multiplayer for Horkos cultivation) doubles the cost with every pill taken.

Horkos gathering pill- 1 success per 5 silver until horkos 10 , 10 silver until horkos 20 and so on.

Horkos replenishment pill- 5 horkos replenished per 20 silver.

Impurity expulsion pill, 100 silver (increases the chance to retain a higher attribute level when tiering up) doubles the cost with every pill taken, 5x the cost with every tier above the first.

Life breath elixir, 5 silver per 1 health recovered.

A bunch of temporary enhancing elixirs of various prices (ask about what you want to boost and how much and I'll give you a price range).

Various cosmetic options that can give social benefits. 10 siliver-50 silver (+1-5 dice to social rolls).

The two following items ant subject to the price increase of the shop, they are already expensive enough.

Elixir of second life- 500 silver. (resurrects someone once if applied within a minute at most and the body isnt too damged).

Life reinforcing elixir- 100 silver +100 silver per use. (+1 permanent health point).

Finding Emris took a lot more time than Aurora assumed but with Gallus investigative abilities on the task find him they did.

He apparently took to training in the forest next to the sect, straining to lift tree trunks he chopped down and move them to a giant pile he created.

When he noticed Gallus and Aurora he snorted "another peacock has come to try and entice me into their service, I will tell you what I said to all the others, I will soon finish the preparations for the voice of the ancestor's ceremony, join me and if the ancestors judge you worthy, I will follow"

Saying his piece the giant blooded returned to his task ignoring any attempt to interact with him.

Ermis has invited you to the voice of the ancestor's ceremony, it will take place late in turn 2 (meaning all other actions will happen before it) and cost 1 AP, do well and he'll join you fail and you will find yourself giantless.

Gallus (nerd that he is) has herd of the ceremony and knows it involves some kind of vision quest and that blessing form the northern ancestors are common for the participants, so there might be more boons to gain in addition to gaining Ermis into your faction.

Also, this invitation wasn't given just to you, so expect competition.

[X] She's having more fun here than she expected. Even the... workouts... aren't completely dreadful.

Meridian expansion pill- 500 silver, (+0.1 permanent multiplayer for Horkos cultivation) doubles the cost with every pill taken.
I know it'd cost literally all our money, but I'm very tempted to get this.

The fact he has perfect memory helps too.

[] how is Aurora finding her time at the sect so far?

if I had to sum it up, it's some mix of "interesting, so much new stuff" and "challenging, but in a good way", mixed with "but muh free time!"...

"But my family forbade me form contracting exclusivity for the first month after entering the sect" Livia said sounding dejected "they said it would hurt my future prospects".

it makes sense, really. Though of course it works the other way too, it means that after the first month factions will already be formed and she won't be able to reap the benefits of having been there from the very beginning.

Still, it also means she won't commit to a potential failure too soon. It's reasonably cautious.

I forget what I wanted to buy... I think I wanted to rush to Horkos 10?

well, we have something for late turn 2, and the alchemist for turn 5. We could have apparently waited for Livia, but still getting some goodwill early will likely make it easier to recruit her for real later, and Ermis was apparently either now or never unless literally everyone else trying to recruit him failed in the ceremony.

Actually I'll quote here the things I think should be added to some informational posts.

admission requirements

skill training

physical training boosts. not that important to note, admittedly, We just have to remember we can get a x2 multiplier fairly easily

iron body method

how to unlock more oaths

horkos exp, maybe to be expanded upon a bit?

Horkos pills

combat

potential NOTABLE recruits

something I mentioned... damn, has it really been 3 months since then?!

I know it'd cost literally all our money, but I'm very tempted to get this.
me too actually, though there's an argument to make against spending all our money all at once.

keep in mind we get 500 silvers (5 gold) every 4 turns.
We won't get more silvers until TURN 5.

So, having some money leftover for opportunities is probably not a bad idea.

Maybe we should go the "cautious" route instead, and buy a few of these:

Horkos replenishment pill- 5 horkos replenished per 20 silver.

Life breath elixir, 5 silver per 1 health recovered.

Various cosmetic options that can give social benefits. 10 siliver-50 silver (+1-5 dice to social rolls).

for emergency horkos and health recovery, and for the IMPORTANT social challenges.

I'd love to get the rez potion, but we're presumably not going to be in life-threatening danger until the end of the trial period. Once we get into the outer school (inner is very unlikely unless we get lucky) Things are likely to escalate.

...I'll have to recheck some of my past math. I remember making some estimates about how much training we need to achieve the targets...

[] how is Aurora finding her time at the sect so far?
-[] "I don't know what sort of demon possessed me to take such a heavy Oath, and I'll probably regret it for the rest of my life... but it's not all bad". Aurora likes to complain, but all things considered she's happy. She's learning interesting stuff, meeting (and hopefully recruiting) interesting people, and while the training itself is hell, the resulting gains are something she can be happy about.

I'm open to alternatives though, this was just my first thought

[] Shopping List
-[]Horkos replenishment pill- 5 horkos replenished per 20 silver. X3
-[]Cosmetics, 50 silvers for +5 dice X2
-[]Life breath elixir, 50 silver per 10 health recovered. X3

something like this would cover emergencies I think. we give one Horko and health recovery potion to each of our trio, and keep cosmetics good enough for 2 of those social challenges...

or... wait... @uri can you clarify for how long the potions last? Because if they, say, last a full week, I'd likely be fine using them all the time in the short term.

Also do we need to spend APs if we want to come back and buy more stuff later? Because if we can just add a note about buying more stuff without an AP cost that makes it less worth it to stockpile too much stuff (like for example cosmetics for a whole month if a dose lasts a week).

literally everyone else trying to recruit him failed in the ceremony.
If you approached him on turn two you would have gotten the option to join but yes the opportunity to recruit him was narrow.

It has, tomorrow I'm likely going to round up all the informationals ive scattered throughout the updates into one post.

You aren't actually buying things now, at the start of turn you'll get the option to buy thins form all of the unlocked shops (it wont cost AP).

As for how long things last for ease I'm just going to say a whole week worth of actions unless otherwise state or it's a combat enhancement (and then it would last for a single combat).

good on us that we went for him early then. We'll see if we missed out on anyone next time we get a chance to recruit people too.

really good. it's kind of hard to keep track with some of the stuff, like training mechanics and branch/outer/inner school requirements.

good, so we can avoid buying too much stuff.

Unless we for some reason DON'T expect to use social dice, I'll seriously consider max investment in the cosmetics, but we'll see. and I definitely want some healing/horkos recovery potions just in case.

(note you have 500 silver avaliable to you).

Hmmm.

How much allowance do we get from our Family and how often do we get it?
keep in mind we get 500 silvers (5 gold) every 4 turns.

Ah, there we go, thanks Pittauro!

Reviewing so far I think I'm just gonna go

[X] Pittauro

Though we should probably look into doing Plans in the future for voting purposes.

Looks like we'll want to pick up that Adamant Lad either next week or next weekend then, and lock in the Ancestor Ritual. Even if we don't get him, the benefits should be worthwhile, and I suspect we'll get social credit from him for just showing up.

How much allowance do we get from our Family and how often do we get it?

Ah, there we go, thanks Pittauro!

I rechecked the last page and it was mentioned there, I admittedly didn't remember either.

I might reread everything at some point if I have the time. it HAS been 3 months...

Though we should probably look into doing Plans in the future for voting purposes.
well, sure, but there's not actually plan stuff to vote on this update.

Uri just said shopping is done later (it's apparently done at the start of each turn from all unlocked shops for no AP cost), and right now we only have the "opinion" vote on how Aurora feels about the whole experience.

Mechanics and a sect advancement.
Okey, I've gone over the entire thread and here are all the rules and needed to know information. The only things excluded are shops and techniques (both of which will get their own threadmark).

I still need to update few of the sheets but once I'm done (and depending on how the distant stars update goes) we'll move to turn 2.

Basics.
The four attributes represent the four pillars of one's existence and they represent the number of dice rolled (d10) when facing a challenge.

Attributes range from 1-10 (although they can go over 10 in some cases) and when they reach 10 you can attempt a breakthrough to refine your attribute and go up a tier while resetting the attribute to 1 (although there are ways to prevent that). The attribute score is then multiplied by its tier and that is the final score used.

Body is used for physical challenges.

Mind is used for mantal ones.

Heart is used for social ones.

And will is used both for challenges of the soul and may from time to time add itself to other challenges in addition to their governing attribute.

HP is the number of health you've got, if this hits zero you're likely dead (unless someone can swiftly save you or you have some treasure or technique) the formula for HP is (body x2 + will) there is also a wound mechanic but we'll get to how that works when you actually get injured.

Armor reduces the damage received from each attack; it can come from in many forms but the base is physical armor which reduces the damage from physical attacks, it can come from many things, either treasures, oaths, refinements or even actual armor but you get a base of (attribute tier -1) so with all of your attributes being in the second tier you passively have 1 armor in everything.

Then we have Horkos (which is Greek for oath -if you have a better name do tell-) this is the energy you're going to use to both strengthen yourself and use techniques, the base amount you receive is equal to your total oath rank (between all of your oaths) and whatever you manage to cultivate.

Skills possesses five ranks, novice-adept-expert-master-grandmaster in addition every rank possess five sub ranks going form 1-5.

Skills represent the things you know to do and how good you are at them, for every rank in a skill you have, your successes threshold is lowered by 1, so a novice would gain a success when rolling an 8 or above (in a d10) while a grand master would gain one if he rolled a 4 or above, and if you don't have the skill, you only gain a success at an 8 or above.

Additionally, every rank (above novice) also gives a talent which can give various benefits (your own talents are going to be voted on in the first few updates).

A sub rank will only give a reroll for a single failed dice (although there are things that can change that) improving consistency.

When combat is first initiated, we check for initiative to see who go's first (initiative is your mind+ will score).

A character can do a few things in their turn, they can attack, try to find weaknesses in their opponent, devise a plan for bonus dice or activate a technique (which is almost always to attack) they then roll the required dice and depending on their successes certain effects are applied.

Its important to note that reflexive actions break the initiative order and can be used whenever although if there is a clash between two reflexive actions (IE: if they can happen at the same time) the one who has higher initiative happens first.

I could try to explain more but I think that seeing it in action would be better.
Advancamnt.

Learning skills is simple, you spend AP to go to a lesson or to learn on your own you then roll the average of the training attributes (most things are just pure mind but some also have the other attributes) with the teacher teaching skill taking the place of your skill in the roll.

You then need to get a certain amount of succusses and then you go up a rank.

The XP formula goes like this (X is the sub rank you wish to achieve):

Novice: 4*X.

Adapt: 9*X.

Expert: 20*X.

Master: 50*X.

Grandmaster: 200*X.

Going up a rank inflict an additional 5X cost (so going form novice 5 to adapt 1 costs 45 XP).

Of course, things aren't straight forward, while going from novice to adapt is juts a matter of XP expert and up require some challenge that pushes your limits to rank up even when they got the necessary XP.

Attributes on the other hand are trained with a set XP to AP ratio, this ratio is determined by your training grounds and equipment.

The formula for training attributes is 5*X*Y2 where X is the score you wish to achieve (1-10) and Y is the attribute current tier.

Now thanks to your initial pick training attributes for you is actually 4*X*Y2 XP.

This means that a normal person going form body 5 to body 6 would need 30 XP, you going form body 5 to body 6 (with your body being in the second tier) would require 96 XP (which is a 24 point reduction from the 120 XP it would require someone normal).

In contrast to all of the other methods of cultivation in this quest (and most others) there is not one way to unlock your oath slots, there is also not a specific action for it.

In essence you must gather experience by doing actions that challenge you or doing something new and undergoing exotic experiences.

You require 10 such experiences for the second oath, 50 for the third, a 100 for the fourth, 500 for the fifth, 1000 for the sixth and so on.

Practically challenging tasks or really new stuff can give more than a single experience.

Higer order oaths.

Thers not a lot to say here (mostly because you don't know enough) but higher order oaths are oaths sworn upon other oaths and represent a continuation of a certain oath line, they have specific rules but either ask Apsa about it or wait until the school gives you a lesson about it (should be around 4-6 turns form now).

What you should know is how its restricted, basically your max oath order on a particular oath is (will tier+ total number of oaths- the number of the oath itself) to explain it better here's an example, assuming we have someone with T2 will and 3 oaths unlocked, his first oath can go to order 4 (2+3-1) which means it can support 3 paths sworn upon it (order 1 oath is just the normal oath) but his second oath can only go order 3 (2+3-2) while his third oath can only do order 2 (2+3-3)
School advancement requirements.

Body at the second tier.

Two oaths.

Horkos at 20.

One skill at expert.

3 layers of the iron body cultivation. (which you'll get by going to the library)
A third order oath (this concept will be explained soonish but isn't something you currently know).

Three skills at expert or one at master.

Horkos at 50.

Will at the second tier.

5 layers of the iron body cultivation.

Passing the final test or placing high in one of the main tournaments.
Four oaths???

???

7. Week 2: start.
[X] She's having more fun here than she expected. Even the... workouts... aren't completely dreadful.

The weekend has come and gone, most of it spent lazing around and resting.

And now with fresh eyes and fully rested Aurora may go out in force.

If only she could find the strength to leave her comfy bed.

Sometime during the weekend, a letter came to her from her family.

Apparently, her cousin, Decius has returned to the inner sect after committing a mission and Aurora mother insisted, she go to him if she needed help or advice.

Aurora doesn't remember much of Decius, he's older than her by like a decade, so they haven't really spoken too much in family gatherings but he's a kind enough guy from the little she interacted with him.

Other than that, there were a few news about her family -apparently her youngest brother started talking- but nothing too major. She was told to write back though.

Which dos represent an opportunity, as she could ask her family for something. If she words it right, she's sure she can get pretty much anything she asks for.

Aurora is going to write back home and you can take this opportunity to ask for something, be it treasure or technique form the family. Your family is rich so as long you're not asking for truly absurd stuff you will likely get whatever it is you ask.

You can ask for something as vague or as specific as you want (although if you do go for something incredibly specific ping me to confirm that its exists).

[] what dos Aurora asks for?

Her mother also included her allowance for this month, maybe she should go shopping.

Current funds: 500 silver (+500 silver on turn 5 and 10).

Unlocked shops:

The start of week 2. You have 7 8 AP to spend (unless otherwise specified every action costs 1 ap) between the following options

Lessons (will be available for the first 2 turns).
* NOTE: lessons you have already taken will repeat themselves.

[X] Physical work by elder Artus (you must spend 3 AP over the next 1 turn's on this action) (this is for your oath).

[] The three fundamentals alchemy, enchanting and combat by elder Zerveas.

[] Oaths and their understanding by elder Septima.

[] meditation upon the self by elder Valla

Cultivating/training.

[] cultivate Horkos (gain 2 rolls for Hrokos cultivation).

-[] any aids/trainers you're using?

[] New experiences- you were told notable and new experiences are how one digs into the potential of their soul and become applicable to sign a new contract, go around and attempt things you have never tired before. Your not sure how effective deliberately searching for experiences would be but what do you have to lose?

Social.

[] Apparently while Gallus oath gives him perfect memory he still needs to actively seek those memories, of course the first thing the bastard deigned to remember was Cispia birthday party, you know the one you made a fool of yourself in, and is content to laugh at you once more.

[] Octavia is around if you wish to talk, especially if it's to complain about how Gallus is annoying.

[] You could also just laze about with your retainers, resting and having small talk.

[] You saw Areti Vlahili and as a Protus its practically your duty to push her down.

[] You know Alex Condakis is around, go introduce yourself you could always use a contact with one of the five, even if it's only with a branch member.

[] You could also start building your faction, gods know you need some minions to order around.

[] Almost two hundred disciples have been granted entrance to the school at least some must be worth something, keep an eye for hidden gems and see if you can befriend/recruit them.

[] Livia is a nice and perky girl and she is as big as a nerd as Gallus and you know to talk to nerds. Let her talk alchemy at you for a few hours, discussion her passion with you would do wonder to her opinion of you. and who knows? You might juts learn something.

[] Ermis Rodas has invited you into a sacred ceremony, go and participate and attempt to garner his loyalty by successfully committing a vision quest. (limited opportunity).

[] Elder Valla has invited you and Gallus to a special lesson, not attending will likely be seen as rejection. (limited opportunity).

[] Go around and see if you can find your cousin Decius Protus and see what kind of help and information you can draw out of him.

[] Approch on of your scouted talants.
-[] Vasilios Thanides, the deformed.
-[] Tiberius Allectius, master of the mind.
-[] Alexis Rodilis, socialite.
-[] Markos Pipallis, the motivated one.

Exploration.

[] Explore the school- the school sits on a huge amount of land go explore and see if you can find something interesting.

[] Go to the library- now that you know where the library is you can go there in search of knowledge. You Also know that if you go to the library this week, you will be able to claim a free technique. (limited opportunity).

[] Take up a mission- you have need of contribution points go and take on a mission.

-[] do you want to invite anyone? (besides Octavia and Gallus).

[] Explore the market- you've got money and your all but certain that there is some kind of market somewhere around here, find it and burn a hole through your pocket.

Additionally, you may give your retainers a directive to do something , whether that be gathering information/ doing jobs or whatever, this is pretty free form but you can only have one directive for each of them in a turn.

[] what do you want (if you want) Gallus to pursue?

Ok. Let's go.

[X] Plan: Limited Opportunities
- [X] Physical work by elder Artus (you must spend 3 AP over the next 1 turn's on this action) (this is for your oath). 3 AP
- [X] Ermis Rodas has invited you into a sacred ceremony, go and participate and attempt to garner his loyalty by successfully committing a vision quest. (limited opportunity).
- [X] Elder Valla has invited you and Gallus to a special lesson, not attending will likely be seen as rejection. (limited opportunity).
- [X] Go to the library- now that you know where the library is you can go there in search of knowledge. You Also know that if you go to the library this week, you will be able to claim a free technique. (limited opportunity).
- [X] The three fundamentals alchemy, enchanting and combat by elder Zerveas.

We've got a limited amount of things we can do if we want to… actually get everything done. Still, not too bad.

[] The three fundamentals alchemy, enchanting and combat by elder Zerveas.

I forget, did we do this one already and just not get the write up?

I just checked, we absolutely did this one already at least per the Plan, I don't think it actually got written up though.

@uri can we get that sorted?

Otherwise, Plan Limited Opportunity seems on top of things, though a Shopping Vote to get the ball rolling on showing Livia that we can properly supply her would be good.

For our Letter Writing, I'm thinking that we'll want to see about asking about specific alchemical resources to help bribe Livia to be in our faction, and to start poking at what would be needed for that dude with the Adamantium Bloodline.

@uri would we be able to get the various recruitable gems listed as options for this week from the weekend?

I think I'm going to want to do a reread after work today.

Well shit… I don't think retroactively doing it would be a good choice.

The simplest solution is just to give you another AP this turn, so that's what were goanna do.

@uri would we be able to get the various recruitable gems listed as options for this week from the weekend?
Right, that should be an option.

If only she could find the strength to leave her comfy bed.
I feel that way most mornings too...

Apparently, her cousin, Decius has returned to the inner sect after committing a mission and Aurora mother insisted, she go to him if she needed help or advice.

Aurora doesn't remember much of Decius, he's older than her by like a decade, so they haven't really spoken too much in family gatherings but he's a kind enough guy from the little she interacted with him.
oh, a contact in the inner sect, nice!

[] what dos Aurora asks for?
mh... what do we need...

There is ONE thing, though it's asking for a lot.

Vasilios posses a severe face deformity, it is severe enough that he takes to wearing a mask over the lower half of his face (heart 2-4), this deformity is derived form a legacy, a legacy which spread beyond his face but that apparently deformed his face lower half.

The legacy goes by the name adamantium skin, it grants him an unbreakable skin (physical armor 200-400~) and apparently gives him some resistance against more exotic means of attack (a portion of physical armor counts as all the other types of armor), aside from his legacy there is not a lot noteworthy about him although he has trained his body quite well (mind, will T1, min 4 base, body T1, 7-8 body).

It seems Vasilios deformity has made him develop some self-esteem issues as well as made him prone to anger, he hates being looked down upon or looked upon with pity real or perceived. There might be issues with requiring him but so long as someone keeps an eye on him it should escalate and there may be ways to improve his disposition.

Oath wise Vasilios seems to be on the same insanity as Gallus (oath rank 4) but I could not determine the effect of his oath.

With his deformity and standoffish attitude Vasilios will probably not be the first pick of many, which means he could wait if other more time sensitive matters arise on the other hand approaching him so soon after the start would be taken as a compliment and a appreciation of his abilities and make requiting him easier.

Gallus note 1: there are a few potions and elixirs which could help with physical deformity but soothing that could overpower his legacy would be expensive, 20 gold at least probably more for the reliable stuff, offering such an elixir would guarantee recruitment but would require asking the family to supply such an elixir which would come in place of other requests)
We could ask for the Elixir for this guy, and try to recruit him next weekend.

Right now that's the main thing that comes to mind.

For the shop as I said before I'm leaning some health recovery potions, some horkos recovery potions, and some social buffs cosmetics

Lessons (will be available for the first 2 turns). * NOTE: lessons you have already taken will repeat themselves.
So there's no point in repeating them, or can we still learn more from them? They offered training rolls after all.

[] Ermis Rodas has invited you into a sacred ceremony, go and participate and attempt to garner his loyalty by successfully committing a vision quest. (limited opportunity).
this is obviously a must.

[] Elder Valla has invited you and Gallus to a special lesson, not attending will likely be seen as rejection. (limited opportunity).
this is another must. I forget what it was about though... let me recheck...

"Don't worry none may hear us right now, you'll learn to hide your oaths in time" the elder words calmed aurora down but just opened our a lot of other questions but the elder didn't seem to give her time to ask them "normally I wouldn't offer this to you, your will is not good enough but you hold promise and are favored by the school so this time I will, next week on the second day, hall seventeen in the evening be there" and with her words said the elder made to move to another student "oh and bring that boy with you" she said pointing toward Gallus.

ah, she was the meditation/horkos refining teacher.

[] Go around and see if you can find your cousin Decius Protus and see what kind of help and information you can draw out of him.
definitely ask for tips about limited-time opportunities, or if he's willing to lend us some resources to advance faster maybe! we all know nepotism is a superpower, especially in xianxia at the lower levels.

[] Go to the library- now that you know where the library is you can go there in search of knowledge. You Also know that if you go to the library this week, you will be able to claim a free technique. (limited opportunity).
another limited time opportunity... Maybe we should write-in we tell Livia and Ermis, as they might be interested

so, out of 7 APs

3 on physical training, mandatory
1 to recruit Ermis the half-giant
1 for the special lesson with Elder Valla
1 for the free library technique

that's already 6 out of 7 APs. I suppose I'd leave the last one for either "New Experiences" or a social action...
...or... wait a sec, let me check if we did all of the basic lessons!

...the older tally is not exactly easy to read... let me check the updates themselves...

[] meditation upon the self by elder Valla
we did training, we did oaths, and we did meditation.

I think we've yet to take Zerveas' lessons (alchemy, enchanting and combat). That's kinda picks the last of the 7 APs on its own.

Ok.

We've got a limited amount of things we can do if we want to… actually get everything done. Still, not too bad.

yeah, the plan kinda wrote itself this turn.

What's left are the directions for our retainers though, the shopping, and the family requests.

I'm leaning towards asking for the potion to recruit "Vasilios Thanides, the deformed", buy the health/horkos recovery and +social potions (I'd use them to get a boost in trying to later recruit "Alexis Rodillis", another noble with his own little posse that presumably comes with him if we manage to recruit him.

for our retainers... I'm not sure.

well, if we're going 8 APs, we can add an action to the current plan.

there's a few valid options

[] New experiences- you were told notable and new experiences are how one digs into the potential of their soul and become applicable to sign a new contract, go around and attempt things you have never tired before. Your not sure how effective deliberately searching for experiences would be but what do you have to lose?

not that urgent, as we're already getting many new experiences just with the lessons and normal school life I think. Maybe later?

[] Almost two hundred disciples have been granted entrance to the school at least some must be worth something, keep an eye for hidden gems and see if you can befriend/recruit them.

getting some minions makes our faction more attractive for everyone else

[] Go around and see if you can find your cousin Decius Protus and see what kind of help and information you can draw out of him.

[] Approch on of your scouted talants.
-[] Vasilios Thanides, the deformed.
-[] Tiberius Allectius, master of the mind.
-[] Alexis Rodilis, socialite.
-[] Markos Pipallis, the motivated one.

get some help and intel from our inner sect cousin, or try to approach a NEW potential recruit.

Deformed is a good idea if we ask our family for the potion to remove his deformity, and Alexis Rodilis is another possibility as he comes with a full group if we can recruit him (we should get the social buff potions if we're going to try though, an extra 5 dice will be a great help).

[] Take up a mission- you have need of contribution points go and take on a mission.

and this is for a more generic but still valuable "gain contribution points to spend".

We CAN go into the negative, but we don't want to go too far with that. I suppose we can afford it this turn as we can also have our cousing suggest the best ways to gain more points...

I think my pick would be either minions, deformed IF we ask our family for the potion, or socialite.

[X] what dos Aurora asks for?
-[X] Ask each of your parents for their favorite technique.

@uri Is this ok?

@blankmask do to me apparently forgetting to writeup one of thew options picked last turn, you get another AP this turn so you can add another action to your plan.

I suggest directing Gallus to catalogue the Markets and sending Octavia to try Explore the School.
Aurora just doesn't have the time for random wanderings (yet). It would cut into her beauty sleep. Need to work those retainers.

Temporary threadmark: vote conclusion.
Plan limited opportunity has won but there are a few problems that I didn't catch in time, first because of a mistake on my part one of your actions last turn didn't get a write up and I refunded the AP for this turn.

Second, the plan doesn't include If you want Octavia and Gallus to do something, they don't have to (as they would just go and do their own thing) but I didn't want to assume this was deliberate rather than a mistake.

Thirdly, there is only one vote for what to ask your family for.

So, hers what were gonna do, plan limited Opportunities has won and its 7 AP of actions are locked. Well now have a sperate vote for the 1 AP left.

Additionally, we'll vote for what Gallus or octevia are doing and I'll leave the vote for the family request open.

Currently this is the only vote for the family request,

-[] Ask each of your parents for their favorite technique.

To offer some other examples, you could ask for a weapon, for armor, cultivation aids, talismans, hell you can even just straight up ask for more gold. again, you don't have to be specific with your request but you can be as specific as you want.

Here is the winning plan for reference.
