I had a suspicion that the character creation phase was stretched out due to my vague wording at the very beginning.

On the other hand, people are more willing to enter the quest at the stage of character creation. Sheer benefit.

    You made a contract with Acedia, the Archdemon of Sloth, also known as the Lady of Despair and the Killer of Hope.

    Acedia kept your beating heart in a box in her throne room. As a result, the only one you could now love was her, and you no longer felt physical pleasure or pain when she wasn't around.
