You are The Gamer in the world of Nanoha. Level up, learn new skills, gain awesome rewards through quests, and become powerful. Your life is a game!

Information
This quest is a crossover between The Gamer and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Meaning, this will take place in the MGLN world with it's characters, but with the mechanics of The Gamer.

It is also my first quest. Being that it's The Gamer, I'm not planning on taking this too seriously. This is mostly so whenif I go off and start making history up (that's vastly different than canon), I won't feel bad about it. Also, I wanna have fun! :p

I don't mind nitpicky grammar corrections, but I'd prefer them in a PM. Also, tips or just general help!

I really, really like write-ins and discussions of why you're choosing an option. I'll most likely take such things into account when the votes are closed. Also, they really, really, help with the muse. Giving Ideas is awesome and it helps me think of more, or tweak your ideas to fit, and just. Give them to me!

Don't be afraid to ask questions! You never know what the answer will be. ;)

Also, I may like transparent text. Hehehe. Fear it! Seriously, it may be in every post of mine!
Stat Information
- I'll be adding and editing as I see fit.

Str = Strength
Increases: attack power (muscles and shit)

Vit = Vitality
Increases: max HP, physical resistance, stamina, heath in general (less likely to get sick and shit)

Agi = Agility
Increases: Dodge, dexterity, movement speed (the lower your Agi, the slower you actually react)

Int = Intelligence
Increases: max MP, mana regen, magic damage, actual intelligence (no seriously, you get smarter), magic resistance

Luk = Luck
Increases: critical hits, loot drops, willpower (the ability to use an Intelligent Device and Barrier Jacket to it's full potential), your luck in general. Mwahaha. Good luck and bad luck. Though, alright. More good luck than bad luck in this case, because that's the way it is in MMOs.
How to Gain Stats

  • Leveling up. You will gain 5 points per level.
  • Repetition. Doing something over and over again (studying, training) can slowly gain stats. Higher luck = more often you'll gain stats through repetition (though this method is still slow).
  • Quest rewards! Stat points may be part of a quest reward!
  • You can gain stat points for good write-ins. If it's a particularly good write-in I like (even if it doesn't win), you may get stat points.
  • Omakes! Points for omakes. Here's to hoping we get that far!
* Points for finding hidden text! Will probably be only like .10 of a point or something, since I'm going to be doing a lot of hidden text, but still! (If you couldn't tell, I kind of like over powered people. Makes for awesome crack.
Goal of the Quest
To have fun! I want this to be enjoyable! I hope I can do well enough that most of you like it!

That said, if for some reason the quest fails (as in I can't think of material to write or it's not fun or something) I will probably reboot it and lock out the world that was chosen here. There's so many awesome was The Gamer can be crossed, so if this one doesn't turn out awesome I'm hoping to try again! If my writing doesn't completely suck.
So, let's make this a good game and have fun, alright? ;)

    Skill Gaining Tutorial

There are a number of ways you can gain skills during the game.
    1. Do an action a few times.
    2. Use a skill book.
    3. Level up certain skills.
    Skill Gaining Tutorial

    Action Skills
These skills can be learned by doing an action in real life.

For example, taking the time to meditate can earn you the skill Meditation or swinging a sword can earn you the skill Sword Mastery. There are many various things you can do to gain a skill. Experimentation is key!
    Skill Gaining Tutorial

    Skill Books
Skill books are books that explain a skill. These books have detailed instructions in them, enough so when you read them you can replicate the skill.

Skill books will disappear once used. They can be found in chests, boss battles, or bought in rare shops.
    Skill Gaining Tutorial

    Leveling Skills
There are some skills that, when mastered, will bud into a new skill. These skills will be based on the previous ones.

    Party Tutorial
    Party Tutorial

Parties are a group of people bound together by choice. When bound together, each member can monitor one another with the useful Party HUD on the right of you. This HUD monitors HP and EP, with mini-map tokens showing where your members are located.

Each party member, while in the party, will be aware off the game. This means they will be able to see HUD's and pop-up screens around them. However, even though they will also gain experience, they will not be able to level up themselves. To be able to do so, please see [[Deleted – HARD MODE]].
    Party Tutorial

    Create a Party
First thing you must do before inviting members, is to create a party. To do this, simply open the Party Menu through the Menu screen, or with the shortcut, "Party". From there you can create a Party and set it's status.

    Shortcuts: "Create Party [Name] [Status]"
[If no status is selected, it reverts to the defaults]
    Party Tutorial

    Party Status
Share EXP – Shares EXP among your party members if they are within 10 levels of you.
Share Loot – Shares item drops between party members
Share Quests – Only one party member has to accept a quest, it will then be shared to all members.
FFA EXP – Each party member gains their own EXP.
FFA Loot – Each party member only gains items they pick up.
FFA Quests – Each party member only gains quests they accept.

By default Share EXP and Share Loot are ON.
    Party Tutorial

    Inviting Party Members
To invite a party member, simply go to the Party Menu and select Invite. Then either say the name of the person you wish to invite, or point to them.

    Shortcuts: "Party Invite [Name]"

Will link to special sound effects for special situations!
    Background Music: On/Off
Will link to special music for all situation!

  • Game Mode: Easy/Normal/Hard/Insane
Easy Mode: Enemy stats are lower than normal. It's easier to gain skills. If you totally suck at games, this mode is for you. Have fun and see what this is about!
Normal Mode: Enemy stats are normal. The game may be challenging, but only if you suck at games.
Hard Mode: Enemy stats are higher than normal. The game is challenging. Bosses and normal enemies are harder. You will probably die more often. More money and better loot, if you can defeat your foes.
Insane Mode: Enemy stats are insane. The game will try to kill you all the time. Why would you chose this option? Takes longer to gain skills and yeah, the loot is better but it's doubtful you'll ever get it, since you'll be dead.
    Tutorials: On/Off
Will always give the option for a tutorial for new things.
    Tooltips/Hints: On/Off
Will show tooltips/hints if on and hide them if off. Hint: This is a Tooltip/Hint.

Shows how much damage you deal and receive.
    Party: On/Off
Allows you to form parties with other characters. Please note: Only you will be able to access to The Game Mechanics.

If this is yes, you will always get a confirmation screen for anything you do.

Saves automatically. Will save before major events if set to anything besides never.

It's dark. That's the first thing you're aware of; darkness. You try to move forward, but only end up bobbing to the side.

What is this? you wonder. You float in one place for a while. It's...not scary, you decide. Kind of calming. You're a bit confused, but surely something will happen sooner or later, right?

You shudder as the darkness surrounding you starts to collapse. You can't see it happening, but you feel it.

[10% ...Downloading music...]

[36% ...Compiling textures...]

[52% ...Inserting loot...]

It twists around you, swirling and swirling. You tumble along with it. Somehow, you're still not scared. It's strange, but you don't let it bother you. You wanted something to happen, didn't you?

[77% ...Reticulating Monsters...]

[89% ...Spawning entities...]

The swirling pauses. Bright light bursts all around you and for a second, you are somehow blinded (you have sight?).

Music starts playing. You open your eyes and stare in shock.

There is still darkness. You are still floating it in, but...but there's none right in front of you. In front of you...are only colors. Every color. Slowly they blur together to show...

[x] A monument to the [Hokage] that can be seen from anywhere in the village. Faces of all the [Hokage] are carved into the stone side of the mountain. (Naruto)
[x] A large castle supported by [Magic], with many towers and turrets and very deep dungeons. Surrounded by a vast forest. (Harry Potter)
[x] A small city with an average-sized population. The greatest concentration of [Soul Energy]. (Bleach)
[x] A large circular structure supported above the ground by eight [Reactors] and a central pillar. Home of the [Shinra Company]. (FF7)
[x] A large round building with a magical halo. Students come here to learn how to be a [SeeD], a group set to fight [the Sorceress]. (FF8)
[x] A utopian metropolis and a ruin. The city that never sleeps and a place were death awaits. Can it really be both? (FFX)
What I am familiar with: Final Fantasy series, Bleach, Harry Potter, Naruto, Worm (KINDA SORTA), Marvel, and probably others I'm blanking on. If you do a write-in please include what world it is. I can't write any Fate series, sorry.

Yes a Zombie world. Can be Resident Evil or any mix of such games.

KERBAL SPACE PROGRAM QUEST GO!
I wouldn't even know where to begin. :p Unfortunately, my laptop is not strong enough to play the demo.

Bleach I'm guessing.

I want to see how a gamer would deal with Guardian Forces.

[] A monument to the [redacted] that can be seen from anywhere in the village. Faces of all the [redacted] are carved into the stone side of the mountain.
Naruto

Harry potter

Bleach

Not sure about the other three.

Naruto, just think of the game breaking that could be done with both the Kage Bunshin and the Gamer.

[x] A large castle supported by Magic, with many towers and turrets and very deep dungeons. Surrounded by a vast forest.
Harry Potter, our spell casting will be so much BS for the school.

If you can fill in the redacted, you'll get an extra stat point upon starting. And I'll edit the post to show the world you uncovered. Only need to do it once (that means everyone, don't do the same one over and over).

Edit: Curse you o3o! You've uncovered my awesome transparency! :p

Like that yup. Except, unfortunately I didn't write a Worm choice! I wasn't sure how to describe BBay, but now that you put Parahumans there...it actually makes sense for Worm too!

Totally not intentional for that choice to look good for 2 worlds. :p

These are sooo close! What do wizards have? What do death gods have?

Yes? Also, I am disappoint. No Starcraft?:p
I was actually thinking of a Stargate/Gamer! Haha! Level up your Zerg Queen now! That's what write-ins are for though, silly! Seriously, it took me forever to actually describe the few choices I gave, and I very much went to wiki pages for some. :p
