The Forgotten Child - A Dragon Ball Z Saiyan Royalty Quest

This is acceptable I think. I'd have preferred Sense, but this is probably the starting perk that's best at figuring out how to get some cool robo-legs or something that won't make us weaker.

Sense + Ki Burst is a good self-defense Wombo-Combo though, but if we're going to be dealing with assassins already, they're not going to be scrubs.

[] Ki Sense: The ability to feel the life force of others around you. Your sense isn't that well developed, but you can locate people who are familiar to you, or high-powered beings. With focus and time to meditate, you can use this sense to find living beings hiding near you as well.
[] Ki Suppression: The ability to fool another person's Ki Sense by mastering your own Ki. Allows you to become invisible to the life sensing of others after remaining still for short periods of time. In addition, mastering you own Ki in such a way makes you more resistant to the overwhelming pressure of other people's Ki.
[] Internal Ki Manipulation: Allows you to become more aware of your own Ki at a faster rate. Lets you meditate easier, and makes other Ki Abilities easier to learn and hone.

Ok, uh. All three of these are great. The first two are otherwise earth-exclusive (or close enough), while the third is a meta technique which could be very potent. I guess when we were "strong of spirit" spoons wasn't exaggerating. I don't think any of these are bad choices, but I think I'm going to choose #3. While Ki supression could become incredibly potent later, in its current form it isn't that useful (it requires us to stay still) and the Ki sense can be somewhat covered by a scouter. We aren't far enough along to pass up direct strength and roundedness improvements, so.

[]Ki shot: A big, standard ball of energy. Flies in a straight line, hits something, explodes. x.6 Damage multiplier(Deals 60% damage). Makes one attack.
[]Ki Burst: A rapid-fire blast of small bolts, instead of a single beams. Fires three attacks instead of one. x.3 Damage multiplier(deals 30% damage).
[]Ki Blast: A charged shot that fires with incredible force, but takes some time to channel. No damage multiplier(deals full damage). Requires two rounds of combat to fire(You can move while charging)

As we all know from dragonball, the first two techniques here will never work. Ki blast is going to be inferior to stuff like the Kamehameha, but that technique is incredibly bullshit so I don't feel too bad about it. Hopefully, Ki Blast counts as a stepping stone towards Galick Gun, which is one of the better beam attacks around, but if not it'll be quite potent in the meantime.

Last two are character choices, I like the directions these ones will take us, hence my votes.

[X]Meet your new brother

Spending time with little brother right now is pointless as it only ups our relationship with mother and she is already at + 500 with us while at the same chance making. Improving our abilities in Energy usage while building a better relationship with our bodyguard is important because we are at a major disadvantaged when it comes to building relationships with our fellow warriors because of the broken body issue so we should take every chance we get to gain allies. Since it will be awhile before we can fight our subjects on something like equal ground, we should concentrate on gaining power that all of them can feel, also the better we are at Ki Manipulation the quicker we learn how to fly and the better we are at it the less Ki we will lose while while in the air. It will also make it easier to work on on our hand to hand combat skills when we have gained freedom of movement

Watching a veteran Saiyan train would be good for many reasons. One our girl has the desire to be a great leader but she has been kept in a gilded cage and has no fighting experience. Watching how a Low-Class Saiyan who survived time in Frieza Force and became strong enough to be made part of the Royal Guard trains could teach us a lot about rising our power level. He also probably also has contacts both in the Frieza Force and the Saiyan Army we could use.

@Spoons The quest looks like it will be fun. I have a couple of questions how you are going to present Saiyan culture. What Class exactly is our bodyguard and how high up the figurative latter has he climbed. How Does a Saiyan's Class interact with weather they are a civilian or a warrior. Does a Saiyan's class simple denote their power level and rank on the battlefield or does it interact with how much material wealth they have for example.

Nope. You had two options, basically - we were going 'full tank/bruiser' or 'full dps/mage.' You guys picked the 'Glass Cannon' archetype - now we just gotta build that cannon.

Onian is a Low-Rank Saiyan, and has no family name to speak of, for a simple reason - the majority of Low-Ranks in this setting are clones. From the existence of Turles, we know that Low-Rank Saiyans have incredibly similar genetic material, resulting in many of them looking alike. They also only have a single name, and tend to be tossed away like cannon fodder. My personal interpretation of this is that Low-Ranks are either pod-grown warriors, or the children of those clones and civilian women. This also kind of explains why there are LITERALLY 0 female warriors - they only make the males on purpose.

So when you see someone who is called a 'low rank,' odds are high that they are a literal custom-built cannon fodder. That's not to say that they can't advance in rank, from Low-Rank to Mid-Rank or even High-Rank, but that requires the same thing that all advancement on Vegeta requires: Strength.

Basically, Saiyan society is split up into four 'classes.' There isn't a class system, per se, but people born into different classes tend to be more capable of advancement than others.

These classes being:
-Low-Ranks(Clones) and Civilians (Non-Military personnel) and their children,
-Mid-Ranks(Think Lieutenants and Officers) and Low-tier Business Owners(Like Balemor)
-High-Ranks(Generals and Military leaders) and High-tier Business Owners(Thinks like Agriculture magnates and weapons dealers)
-Royalty and Clan Members

Saiyan culture is built entirely on strength. The stronger you can be come - either literally or politically - the higher you can climb. That doesn't mean people wouldn't be willing to stand at the top and kick at the people climbing their way up, though.

I'll be closing the polls in the morning, hope to have the chapter prepared by tomorrow night.

How would Saiyans respond to [Screams Geometrically] anyway?

Im afraid I dont understand the reference? Not sure what that's suppose to refer to. If thats a reference to super saiyan, they think its still just a myth, so would probably be... Wowed. To say the least. But you're at Gohan-pre-Training year levels right now, so it may be a bit off.

Alright, polls closed. Winning results are:
Internal Ki Manipulation wins overwhelmingly, with 11 of the 15 votes.
We are going to go Meditate for a bit, then go visit our baby brother for a while.
And if anyone upsets us, we can show them our magnificent Ki Burst.
Chapter will be out tonight or tomorrow night.

Im contiually reminded of how terrifying NGE was. Every time I think 'oh yeah thats the one where robots fight space cubes and stuff' someone links a segment of the Anime. So much more potent on screen than it was on paper. I should probably watch it at some point

Guys I have to ask what the point there is in spending time with Vegeta before he can even talk when we are starting with such disadvantages as the ones we have?

@Spoons So a lot clones and few low class female warriors means that in this Universe when someone is called a third class idiot by someone of the Elite Class like Nappa they are implying that they not only have low intelligence and power but that they are literally a dime a dozen and can be replaced with the use of the gestation pods quite easily. Also how does that translate to the Class ranks that the Saiyan army uses and the practice of sending Saiyans born with a low power level being sent of to conquer planets or is that what you were referencing when you said they were used as cannon fodder. For example would someone like Bardock at this point be considered a Mid-Ranking Saiyan because he has a high battle power and he commands a team of warriors. I supect that you are using Gine's character as a base for the civilian Saiyans you are creating so are they just the rare Saiyns who do not like conflict are does are Saiyans power level play a part in deciding weather they are a civilian or not

On the Female warriors thing, ever time we have been shown Planet Vegeta and Saiyans before and during Frieza's destruction of the planet we see Female Saiyans in battle armor and at no point is it implied that this is rare or weird. The fact that Bardock and the rest of his command act like it is complete normal to have a women on the team merely reinforces the Saiyan view that power in battle is what is important not gender on the battlefield. Not a surprise when you remember that all of them can transform into giants of primal rage and power when they look upon the Full Moon.

That cube was powerful but considering that people in Dragon Ball with a power level below 1,000 were capable of destroying Moons they would probable think it was a nice toy before destroying it. Angels they may be called but they are not all that powerful when compared to other beings so named.

Because a lot of familial bonding happens even in the infant stage/days?

While there is some truth to that I feel that considering our very weak position in the power dynamics of of the Royal Family and Saiyan Culture as a whole that now is not the time to start building a relationship with someone who has just been born. It would be better to spend the time that little brother will have no memory of making ourselves stronger so we can learn to fly as quickly as possible and gaining allies.
