I think it might be time for some environment testing.

[X] Think hard about the word "date", then "version".

I don't believe we're running either Linux or MS-DOS; rm and dir both failed. But just to check:

[X] I'd also like you to try "pwd" and "ls", if you would be so kind.

Lastly, in relation to the "no extension" bit...

[X] If possible, also try "Run Help.exe".
 
[X] CC: Let's test out the commands we know. At the start, a command was run. Could you try it? It was 'Run Directive.ord'. Also, try variations on that, like 'Run Tutorial.ord' or maybe different file extensions.
[X] CC: If that works, try 'Run SYS.DETECT.ord' or that with an .exe . It ran a few seconds before all this started. This should give you a general status of this drone. Or, as i'm beginning to suspect, the carrier for this drone-the satellite.
[X] CC: Maybe try to move around? I, or my compatriots, will let you know if the drone moves. The drone's currently on its back.

The crashed thing is the Satellite. The thing that popped out is the drone, which is currently on its back, as it displays our 'conversations' much as the screen on the Drive does. That's why there was a red glow on its bottom in one of the images.

[X] It is also quite possible that you are instead worried about having insufficient firepower. That is a natural worry, as there is no such thing as enough dakka.
 
[X] another talks of explosions. you should take note that while this is true, it is only because the likelyhood of all participants dying approaches 1. this should not be treated as advice in any situation wherein you wish for self-preservation.
 
[X] When in doubt, try things until something happens. Scan and Help seem to be valid commands, I'd recommend starting with "Help Help", "Help Scan", "Scan Xaphan", and "Scan Drone"
